The Sconery is an AMAZING place for any birthdays or parties! We had a high tea baking class for a hen’s party with Jason as the legendary chef instructor, and it was an absolute blast! Jason made everyone feel comfortable where all the girls had loads fun, and most importantly we had a BEAMING BRIDE! Plus the food was delicious. I’ll spare the photos, Jason helped cater to our hen themed day by demonstrating custom creations :). Jason also let us try his wife’s delicious chilli jam which was a bonus, and he gave us a few samples to take home!

We did a cupcake decorating class for my daughter’s 8th birthday and I can’t recommend it enough. Jason was funny and engaging keeping everyone entertained. Elsie was a powerhouse behind the scenes putting party food out, setting up, making coffee for the parents and even cutting and serving the cake for me. I literally didn’t have to do a thing but take photos and enjoy the atmosphere. All the girls had a fantastic time and will no doubt enjoy eating the 6 cupcakes they got to take home. If you are looking for a party venue then you can’t go wrong with The Sconery.

One of the best cafe with a amazing food and coffee in Chippendale , love the wrap especially the buffalo chicken ones ( a bit spicy and cheesy)🤤. And they got different sweet things everyday,the new york cheesecake is fantastic..i can say that’s one of the best in sydney. The scones is must try, so recommended

I've just started a new job on Abercrombie Street & found this great cafe after looking for a grassy area to eat lunch. It's right opposite the park & serves the most amazing food; the Avocado, Bacon & Haloumi Bagel is so good, the Buffalo wrap is a little spicy but amazing & the coffee is the best we have had in the area, we even took back to the office some Baked Cheesecake & Scones to share with the girls! The staff are so sweet & funny, it has a great little vibe, it's my new favourite place in the World!!!

Had a Buffalo Wrap & a Caesar Wrap, so generous with the filling with a fantastic salad combo (fennel salad, carrot salad & rocket salad altogether), very healthy & fresh so we finished off with the BEST scones in Sydney by far, soft, tender & delicate ..& the homemade jam, yummo! ..& the thick cream (none of that horrible spray can stuff here!) I better bring my Mum next time!!!!

If you love tasty food, made with passion and fresh ingredients, then look no further. Jason is a real chef, one with experience and a deep knowledge of cuisine. A lot of different cuisines, actually. He is smart, interesting, and a funny bloke on top of it. His wife, and the ladies working there, are all very friendly. You will always get your order accompanied by a smile. I highly recommend this place. Bon appetit!

We had a 10 year old cupcake birthday party here - and our daughter described the party as "awesome, delicious & epic" and she thought that Jason made the party "super fun". Elsie from The Sconery was very easy to deal with in the planning and had helpful suggestions, and we'd definitely highly recommend.

Delicious, great value food. I had a prosciutto bagel which was generously filled with a unique combination of prosciutto, brie, pear and fried egg. Have also tried the cheesecake and scones - highly recommended!

Probably the best scones in sydney and the food is really good and not very expensive. It seems everything is made just there. The jam and the cream are absolutely fantastic. But if the place is very simple if you are expecting some sophisticated cafe, this is not the right place.

A group of seven of us participated in the scone making class on Saturday. Chef Jason was full of great tips and assisted us in making delicious scones, both savory and sweet. His wife Elsie provided us with afternoon teas and coffees and we enjoyed sampling the fruits of our work. Delicious! Great fun and now I can bake scones on my own. And you must put the jam on first before you place a dollop of cream 🍓🍓🍓 Thanks Jason & Elsie.

First time there. we had lunch and stayed longer for cheesecake etc. as well. It was a quiet time of day. Delivery was quick, the food was good and excellent value. The staff were friendly. I would recommend a visit if you are in the area,or perhaps even if you are not. It's worth a trip to try it out.

It was lovely to see the kids all enjoying themselves and giggling away.Elsie you were amazing from the moment you answered my enquires about a party, until the very end of the actual party itself. So kind and professional. Everything ran smoothly and couldn’t have been more hassle free! The food and coffee were all great and was complimented by our guests, and there’s also a quiet park close by for the kids to run around too. My daughter rated her party 11 out of 10, and we’d give more stars if we could. Thank you again, and wishing you all the best!

Had a wonderful scones, eclairs and tarts private party at The Sconery for my hens today. It was so much fun and the service was amazing. The high tea served was generous and delicious. The owners made us feel at home and we all of us had such a wonderful time. We even left with a box full of sweets we made. Would highly recommend and will come again! :)

I dare say the best Cheesecake in Sydney and I've eaten an awful lot of Cheesecakes. The taste is rich and creamy but not overwhelming. Just the right hint of sweetness and tang. Thin and crisp base unlike the usual chunky ones. Scones are great too, so are the other items but I love the Cheesecake.

Excellent selection of lunch food, all prepared fresh and on site. The meat pies are outstanding, possibly some of the best in Sydney. The scones are also excellent, and the cakes are fantastic. The white chocolate cheese cake I had today was 9/10 and one of the best in recent memory. The owner/chef is a highly dedicated baker - everything is very well prepared and no corners are cut. Great local cafe.

My 10 year old daughter just had a cupcake decorating party with 5 friends. Chef Jason had everything ready from glitter sprinkles, gorgeous fluffy butter icing, various piping bags and a variety of fondant shapes. He demonstrated several types and techniques including the rainbow unicorn! Next the girls gave it a go, they created such unique and interesting designs. Some concentrating hard, others being more playful. They made 6 each and had their own boxes to take home. (no need to make lolly bags!!) We also had some of Jason’s delicious scones with fresh jam and cream. My daughter and friends had a blast and I learnt lots too. Thanks guys! Such a memorable day!

Good coffee here. Staff are really friendly and the food is great. Fresh and cooked by the chef every day. Great place for weekend brunch delicious filled bagels (home made) is a favourite but you won't go wrong with anything really. Oh and meat pies are delicious so meaty, I'd almost ask for extra gravy as there is so Much meat in them

This place is awesome! The food is fresh, good quality, delicious and nutritious. The prices are reasonable and the staff are delightful. They bake those delicious scones on the premises, which makes Chippendale the best smelling suburb in Sydney most mornings. Go there!

Best Cupcake Party Ever! My 7 year old daughter (along with 24 friends!) celebrated her birthday, icing cupcakes at The Sconery. Jason and Elsie did an amazing job entertaining the girls and helping them create their masterpieces. The girls were delighted they were able to take their delicious creations home with them afterwards. The catering was also fantastic for both the parents and the children. Thank you ever so much Jason and Elsie. Highly recommended!

Our girls had a wonderful cupcake baking party. Very well equipped venue with a large professional kitchen, they even provided stepping stools(9 years old bday)! Well organised, and never a dull moment. Great husband and wife team. The snacks provided were delicious scorns with fresh juice. Our girls had a lot of fun, each taking home a box of 6 cupcakes that they baked and decorated. We will be back for another party with our 7 year old.

The Sconery does so it's name justice with their excellent scones. Some say they were too crumbly but ours have always been just right. Their breakfast options are varied and surprisingly reasonably priced. The service has always been friendly and their location next to the park us quiet and relaxing.

Their coffes are good and strong. My fav bfast menu is the scramble eggs on toast, they put a pesto sauce on the eggs and it taste amazing. Their scones also nice. Little gem in Chippendale, perfect for grab and go.

Best coffee in the Area! Great selection of sandwiches and salads. Personal favourite is the meat pie, classic english style with large chunks of rump, carrot and celery. Owner and staff clearly have a close relationship: lunch rushes are all business, while lulls in service are filled with jokes and jovial conversation. Highly recommend!

This is one great café. Love the omelets for Saturday brunch. And the pies with proper chunks of meat beat every other pie I've had. You'll taste right away that the chef knows his trade and everything is prepared fresh.

Love this place for the food taste, even if the decor needs to be improve. Quiet disappointed this week tho as I came with a friend to have my usual $10.5 sandwich with salads. Unfortunately I was told that they removed this "offer" which was running since min. 2 years, as I am working 50 meters away it was my treat. Probably to make more profit, but that's not worth the $15 charged now (so +50%). You guys should rollback to this good deal!

The food, coffee and customer service at The Sconery is exceptional. The vegetarian breakfast is especially delicious but you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. The meals are wholesome and offer great value and the service is super quick. The staff are delightful and the croissants just cannot be beat!

Tucked away in Chippendale, it's the most serene and peaceful location amidst the near hustle and bustle of the area. Of course, the quality of the food and its price were great too! ($4 for a generous almond croissant that was to. die. for.) Will definitely be back for more. ;-)

Great little place. Coffee is good. The owner lady remembers everyone's coffee or tea order. Even when once you change it, next time she asks you if you want it the old way or the new way! Freaks me out sometimes, but in a good way. Food is fresh, you can see it being made in front of you. The location is also good, as it is in a low traffic area, near small businesses, pre-school, school, uni, and a small park. Love this place. My dog also does, as they are welcome to the outside table area, and fresh water is provided.... I come by this place every morning, and I mean every morning!

Delightful scones that will fill you before you're even finished! The coffee also goes down a treat, however the atmosphere and decor leaves something to be desired. When I think of scones I think of grandma's cosy lounge room with a pot of tea and a homely vibe, all you'll get here is metal tables and chairs...but they promise scones and they don't disappoint on that front!
