This lovely hole in the wall serves some of the best tasting coffee In Sydney. Coupled with a ham and cheese croissant, spectacular views of the Sydney Town hall it's a great stop for any tourist or Sydneysider seeking needing a pick me up.

Located adjacent to the tram and QVB you would expect this cafe to be expensive and not good - focusing on quantity not quality. However, I’ve made this my regular when I’m in the CBD. Always open, inc Sundays, always good. The coffee is very consistent with a darker roast providing a good strong cup - they serve a blend by Tobys just for them. Big thumbs up!

It did coffee and my double shot flat white had a real kick. Across the road from the Queen Victoria Building (QVB) and right out the front of the new team lines meaning no noisy cars plus seating inside and out makes this a really convenient go to it you live coffee. Nice relaxing views, and a great people watching spot.

High expectation, a little disappointed. Went there for the famous coffee. Ordered a flat white, judging from the foam, I got an average made latte. Understand that take away cup doesn't require latte art, but the quality I received doesn't match to its reputation I reckon. Coffee tasted good. Side note, Staff doesn't know if the kitchen was still open when I got there at about 2.10pm. If anyone is looking for a place to sit down and enjoy a cup of coffee or food, don't come.

Workshop Espresso has been around for many years. It is a small 'hole-in-the-wall' type of café, and while it only has sufficient space for 3 or 4 patrons for a quick coffee, the atmosphere of the espresso is warm and charismatic. The quality of coffee is consistently high, and staff provide good customer services.

Opinions on coffee shops are a dime a dozen, so here’s one more. Workshop Espresso is a suitable (albeit mediocre at best) joint to get your caffeine fix in a pinch should you find yourself in the CBD. That being said, the drinks served are lacking any distinct flavour profile, watered-down, and like a bad first date, nothing to write home about. Would I visit Workshop Espresso again? If I were in the area and had no other options, sure. But, with the enduring passion Australians have for coffee, we know there are always other (and better) options just around the corner.

This place took me by surprise by how tiny it actually is, especially after hearing all the good stuff about it. Despite the disproportionate crowd that almost always queue for coffee here, the staff seem to have unlimited energy, always so upbeat and passionate in making and serving every cup. Most people just take away, but I once got a seat inside and the staff managed to make me feel at ease by myself, sipping on the best Sydney coffee, in such a confined space with people all around. So if you fancy some quality coffee (which comes with the price it deserves) while comfortably watching people in the city, you know where to go.

I've always been put off by the large crowd huddled out the front but i went for it. Ordered a large cap and egg&bacon roll AMAZING!! Theres is a crowd, and trying to work out where the line starts was the hardest part of this experience but once ordered it didn't take too long to get my coffee. Busy, efficient 'Hole In The Wall' coffee place that has certainly earned the use of 'Espresso' in its name. They have a water jug with fresh fruits adding a delightful accompaniment to a delicious espresso (my favorite). Try their single origins specials, and they are more than happy to answer questions regarding the options.

The guy who owns/runs this used to barista at Bacio. Workshop has a nice industrialised look to the shop and serves a great coffee. Its always busy which highlight the quality of the coffee/shop. A virtual hole in the wall with some of the best coffee in the central city. Fast and friendly service makes the busy morning rush a breeze. Hopefully Workshop takes advantage of a pedestrianised George Street with some outdoor tables.

Kia Ora. Well ordering here despite the crowds is simple and energetic. the sounds from the callers for your half and half mocha frothy concoction is clear. They do excellent toasted, well, anything really! Coffees are well made and care is taken. Service is like lightning if a mistake is spotted and its fix appears faster than the discussion to discover it. Lovely little narrow place. squeeze in for a sit down and enjoy the bussle while Sydney sprints past, or use the takeway and happily block the foot path as part of the in crowd. I bought a doughnut in passing, specifically a jam donut because I find that jam covers the taste of slightly inferior dough. I am now wishing I'd bought a plain doughnut and saved 50c, because it was absolutely superb. Perfectly cooked, not too oily and not too dry, flavoursome and with subtle hints of cinnamon. Seriously, it was a damn good pastry.
