This is a beautiful, brightly lit, healthy and well priced cafe with delicious food and house crafted drinks. So for them to be playing rock music and heavier themes, especially with a room full of elders, was very surprising to see. I myself have musicogenic seizures so I cannot listen to that kind of music and must bring earphones with me. I would expect chill light cafe style ambience filled smooth music. It keeps people feeling nice and happy and makes them want to chill out for longer creating a better opportunity for the Cafe to earn a higher revenue. Thank you for your beautiful, on point service and amazing food :))

What a great cafe. Always somewhere to sit and chill, coffee is delicious, food is really very good and I can't forget to mention the incredible selection of Bloody Marys... It's busy but you'll always find a table. The staff are fun and very efficient.

We were there a couple of times for breakfast and lunch during our stay in Sydney. Very friendly staff, good food and quality! Coffee was good as well. The owner even gave us a little "discount" on our last day, so that we could spend the rest of our cash. Very very nice! If I will be back in Sydney again, I will definitely come back...

Always packed at weekends, with good reason. The kedgeree is easily the best brunch you can get in the suburb, possibly the whole of Sydney. I don’t think my wife and I have ever ordered anything else, it’s that good.

I’ve for the first time read some of these reviews on Zinc. It’s amazing to me that some people see grumpy waiters and I see the colour, grittiness, and texture of our neighbourhood. If you want beige cafes why on earth are you here? And a bit of advice - never ever go to cafes and restaurants in Paris, you ain’t going to like it. One review that made me laugh is the one about rice being in a Kedgeree. If you don’t know what is in Kedgeree why didn’t you ask????? I’ve lived here for 16 years and love Zinc. There are dishes that don’t appeal to me so, guess what, I don’t order them. But my regular choices are fabulous, as are all the drinks and coffee’s etc. My only menu wish is that they add a pasta dish with mixed seafood and chilli.

These lovely folks provide me with takeaway coffee many mornings. There's a nice community of regulars I see being greeted and looked after -- ranging from the school girls headed to St Vincent's to the distinguished silver-haired set sharing breakfast and the day's newspaper, and everyone between. There's a nice large table for a big group or communal sitting; and, there are tables outside. Dog friendly.

I travel to Sydney once yearly from my home in Western NSW. I book a hotel in Potts Point, so that I am close to this wonderful establishment. Dinner is always a treat. I usually order from the early set menu, which is value for money. Excellent wine list, too. Nigel looks after his customers. Unfortunately, I have taken my "brekky" business elsewhere because of a particularly snotty waiter, who goes out of his way to make me feel unwelcome. Too bad, because the breakfast menu is an excellent one. And, then, of course, there is lunch. Many of my mates in the entertainment industry join me on the day. PS: The restaurant was sold a few years back. The new owners are neither welcoming of past guests; the waitpersons lack skills and personality if current reviews are anything to go by.

Went for lunch with my husband and 6 month old. Staff were prompt to greet us with tap water and menu. The food was nicely presented and very reasonably priced considering the location. Will definitely return and take friends there as was impressed with the whole experience.

Good for a coffee and a quick bite. Staff are friendly and helpful. Toilets are a bit of a mission though of you suddenly feel compelled to go, as they are located a couple? Of hundred metres away at the back of an underground carpark. Take your phone with you in case you get lost and need to Google maps your way back to your table ,😂

A real microcosm of Potts Point, Zinc reminds you of why you love the area. No one is particularly friendly, but the people watching is unrivalled. It won’t even be noon yet when an old woman decked out in costume jewellery has ordered a Bloody Mary and asked for a water bowl for her duo of schnauzers. The eccentric politeness of Potts Point is embodied here. Good coffee, a good BLT and a decent slice of cake can be had.

My 6 year old son and I went here for a quick coffee/milkshake and pancakes yesterday morning. The staff, even though completely run over by droves of patrons on a busy overcast cafe kind of Sunday morning, were very friendly and professional. The food and beverage was equivalent; though we had to wait a little due to the sheer volume of food pumping out of the kitchen, the coffee was perfect (milk cremed to the point no criticism was possible) a milkshake my son inhaled, and a pancake that I absolutely woofed down (Thankfully my son mistook the poached peach for tomato and wouldn't have a bar of "Savoury" pancakes!) The only thing I wish is I could post the photo my son snapped of one of the staff helping an elderly lady down the steps she was having difficulty with. TLDR: Not sure about all of the people here posting about awful service, poor food, or inflated prices.... The food and service was great for me, and the prices were what I would expect to pay in one of the most expensive areas of Sydney.

I have been eating at Zinc since it first opened, when I used to visit the area, whilst living on the Central Coast - some 5 years ago, we moved to Potts Point not far from Zinc and it became our local - particularly for Sunday Brunch - Peter and Nigel are great as is their staff, ONCE they get to know you are a local ! Lunch can be good and dinner is excellent particularly the special menu - lighting really should be improved, however that takes nothing away from the quality of the food and the service.

We come here most weekends for brunch and poeple watching. Service is friendly but a bit patchy on a sunny weekend. We invariably have the excellent smoked salmon/poached eggs/dill mayonaise/spinnich combo (aka eggs benedict anywhere else) although the bircher muesli with rhubarb and honey is great for hangovers. Unfortunately they don't have grain bread and the normal toast is a bit dry. But they've recently added fruit & nut bread which is fantastic toasted. We're not coffeee drinkers but the tea is excellent. Dinner is very good value for the area and the 3-course special even more so - but get there early if you want it.

I had my breakfast there couple of months ago and oh well, not coming back. I had some omlete with sausage which costed me 20$. I think it's quite expensive for this type of food. I did like it though but the price is not worth it.
