The burgers are fabulous!! The buns are soft, light and significant; whilst their patties - whether it’s the Wagyu or Southern fried chicken, were juicy and flavourful! The sauce has a subtle yet inviting tart component to it! The burgers are hefty and heavy yet have those vegetable elements that make them whole! One of the best burgers I had in a while! Priced well, and has a good vibe overall with its interior! Will definitely visit again!

I was a regular at Charboys when they were based in the CBD. Since the move, I’ve only been there a handful of times but without a doubt, they’re still one of the best burger joints in Brisbane! Consistently great burgers packed full of flavours with some crazy good seasoning on their fries. Even the veg options are tasty. Good to see some new additional items to the menu as well! Glad to see a small business grow and continue doing what they do best. Great work guys!

Pretty tasty patty. It had a bit too much sauce in it with the 3 different ones though. Add a brioche bun and it just makes it a tad too sloppy after the halfway stage. Still good though. I wish there was a 1/2 star because it is 3.5* for the record.

After not having visited Charboys in well over a year I made a 30 minute detour to visit. The staff were about as friendly as any other fast food restaurant. The burger was ok, definitely didn't have the same magic it use to. And the milk shake... Well it wasn't great. Also not being served a jug of water was what tipped me over the edge, what happened Charboys? This use to be my favourite burger place, I would recommend everyone to try it, but now I can't say that I'd recommend it to anyone. -- My original review from 2019 The best cheese burger I've had. What you get is the beautiful cheeseburger that every burger joint uses on TV. The taste is great. You'll go for the food, not the atmosphere, by that I mean you can get your burger and walk 3 minutes south to one of the nicest views in the city.

Awesome burgers, one of the best I have had. Good shoe string fries, a bit loaded with salt though. Be prepared for 15-20 mins waiting time and gets really crowded during peak times. Might be hard to find a place to sit as there are only few seats around.

Visited during the opening week because I was keen to see what the new burger joint in Oxford St had on offer (There's 4 now). The owner said they had a whole heap of new staff, they've moved into a bigger joint so that's completely understandable. Room for improvement, hoping you succeed. The decor of the restaurant is decent, well laid out, with lots of seating. Although the fixtures and overall feel of the place with the plastic plants, fake grass and mix matched chairs/tables seemed to cheaped the atmosphere. Would be great to liven it up with some lighting and music! The placement of the menu feels awkward and can't really be read from afar, would be better if it was positioned to where the window to the left of the counter is and was larger or could be solved by having table menus, as we had to be at the counter to read it and made us feel awkward holding up people behind us. The small selection of alcohol will be a detriment to your success, suggest expanding the range here guys. To the food, the chips were well seasoned, and tasted pretty good! A highlight for sure. The burger, albeit juicy and cooked medium (as a burger should) lacked any sort of seasoning and the patty fell flat amongst the other fresh ingredients on the burger, and what's a burger without a good patty? The shake unfortunately didn't live up to the hype the staff gave it and it tasted rather icey and not creamy. With a street that plays host to 3 gelato places and 1 ice cream, and a couple of other venues doing shakes it needs to be something special to stand out here, room for improvement here! Was surprised to see the IKEA Cider in the drink choices - an odd selection but for an interesting table talking point! I'd love to see either a sink or better quality napkins/wet wipes because the burgers are messy and I had to leave with the greasy feeling over my hands because the napkins would just tear. Wouldn't rush back in a hurry but will come back a bit later after the staff training and they've settled into the location.

Good burgers, well balanced toppings, good many options. I thought the bun would be too chewy but they were really good and not too bready. The hint of spices were perfect. I was expecting to be an ordinary deli burger but it was way above it. The portion size is good and so is the pricing. I found the chips tad bit salty . The onion rings were really good and had a light coating of batter good enough to give it a crunchy feel. Its now on our Friday lunch office menu list and a crowd pleaser.

Very good burgers. Definitely one of my favorite burger joints. Double cheese burger with bacon and fries is still my favourite. The only problem is that we can never find an empty table during lunch so we always end up eating at our office desks. Still the trip is so worth it.

This is it. The best Burger I've had in Brisbane so far. I had the Qld special which was fried chicken with bacon, pineapple curry sauce and cheese, and should absolutely be permanently on the menu. Fairly decent line at Friday lunch which is to be expected, but service is quick and efficient, and the wait isn't outrageous given the number of people there. Burger was just straight up delicious, chicken was crunchy and tender, tasty roll, plenty of all toppings. My only complaint would be that their "crispy" bacon isn't crispy at all but that's pretty standard. Fries were also really good and generously seasoned with a very tasty seasoning. Well worth a visit.

I walked for 2 hours from the CBD to Charboys' new location so I could earn the huge feed I was treating myself to. The burgers here are some of the best in the country if not the best. Reliable product, the cheeseburger is one of the best in Brisbane at the time of writing; not oversized, good ingredients, reasonably priced. The chicken burgers are good, but in my mind they're not the best choice on the menu. The fries are good (nicely seasoned shoestring) but can be a bit much on top of the burger unless you have hollow legs. It's a pity you can't get a beer anymore!

Just had THE BEST CHICKEN BURGER EVER. 7 years living in Australia .I had the Queenslander and it was absolutely delicious . The grilled pineapple topping off a perfectly crunchy southern fried style chicken was so tasty. I also appreciated the fact that the burger was wrapped in foil to keep it warm.

Haven’t been to the restaurant since they moved to the new location but have been wanting to go. We really loved our time there last time we dined with them. They were still trading in the city. The atmosphere was great and we loved the vibe. I ordered a double cheeseburger without tomato or lettuce. The bun was soft and warm. The patties were covered in melted cheese, which couldn’t have been more satisfying. The service was just as good as their burgers. I work here and I'm impressed. I tried almost every burger in my first few weeks so that I could recommend the right choices to new customers. This, of course, has resulted in a very difficult battle in my fitness journey, because no word of a lie, these burgers are legit. That would have been the end of it, a life of struggling to not order burgers every night, (hard enough I know) but tonight I finally tried the buffalo soldier... Ok - so we have explored the burger market in Brisbane for some time now. We have tried burger places all over the city looking for that ultimate burger experience. We came across Charboys Bulimba, and thought maybe this is the one !! We have continued to seek out that ultimate burger, (leaving no stone unturned) and still we cant find one that competes with the combo of flavours and sauces. The GF bun is as good as the Brioche, the Southern fried chicken & Queenslander - damn.....so good. The presentation is great, and the fries... simply awesome ! BEST BURGERS IN BRISBANE! I got the cheeseburger and it was the best burger I've ever had! Great charred flavour. It was $11 but worth it. The chips are $3 and have seasoning on them. They do massive, delicious burgers. Best "Filthy Fries" I've had in Brisbane - very flavourful. Great onion rings. BIG TIP: if you're doing takeaway, then you need to ask for your burgers to be wrapped in foil. Otherwise the burgers just melt through the paper and fall apart!

This place is so underrated and deserves way more attention. Its definitely one of the BEST burger joints in Australia. At first glance, I thought it was a chain restaurant though later found out it was the only store at the time. The burgers were to die for. I had the Carnivore Burger! Soft brioche buns, juicy beef patty, unbelievable southern fried chicken. the flavor on that coating was sensational. bacon and jalapenos. The fries were also unreal. The seasoning they use is a signature blend. paired that up with thier signature sauce and OMFG..i was in valhalla feasting with the gods Well done Charboys.

Very surprised with this little gem - with so many burger places in Brisbane now, most are getting very same same. The burgers were exceptionally well priced (not to mention delicious) compared to the average burger joint, and the $3 side of chips was enormous for the price. The only let-down is the location - a shipping container out the front of an office building. Seating isn't great, but the burgers are. Worth it for sure.

A great cheeseburger, probably the second best burger in Brisbane behind Jees. Don't go for Friday lunchtime unless you're willing to wait 25 minutes. Shoestring fries are a bit hit and miss and have way too much seasoning. Chicken burger is also great but I order mine without the BBQ sauce.

TL;DR bit of a confusing ambience, but the burgers pull through. My experience - It was a quiet Friday night at Charboys. I'm guessing with COVID and everything coming through, crowds aren't to be expected. My mate and I chose to go to Charboys compared to other burger places on that street due to their pricing being a little more competitive compared to Ribs and Burgers opposite the cinema, and grilld down the road. We both got the southern fried chicken burger for $16 AUD (comparable burgers offered at $22+ in the other places), and chips for $4 AUD. Looking at the signage out front I expected like an American-based dinner that was freshly done up. Inside the posters are kind of aged, and the restaurant seems to be aiming toward tropical or island vibe? What's more they play medieval / classical-style covers of popular music which also doesn't seem to fit. But the staff are helpful and the burgers are pretty good. Would go again :D

YESS! Our family’s favourite restaurant is finally open again , this time only BETTER! The new place on Oxford St, Bulimba is absolutely Amazing. Love the new Rustic fit out and the menu is super delish. We have young children and they love their meals every time. The burgers are succulent and flavoursome, The fries are crispy and well seasoned as well as a stunning presentation. Over all a 10 out of 10 from us. Can not wait to visit again. Definitely worth the 30mins drive.

Saw this on Urban list and had to try because I was close by. I wasn't dissapointed; $11 for a top draw Southern Fried Chicken burger which was mouth-watering. Only flaw is that the sauces were overbearing. For an extra $3 I also grabbed a side of fries which a very generous serve. I really enjoyed the charboy seasoning that came with it. Definitely will come back!

It was about 10pm & I ordered a lentil burger. My expectations fairly high. The lentil pattie not what I expected. It was more like the ready made vegie patties bulk pack from the supermarket. I thought it might be like a robust falafel. Fat in every way like you might find in Brunswick Street Fitzroy VIC Australia. It was on white bread, the kind you find in fast food franchise restaurants. In the photos I am about to post it seems the young people working there were second generation born in Australia. I am surprised these days that in one lifetime, mine, young people from the countries I have taught in have an Australian accent. In China dating someone from another country is still considered taboo, but this didn't stop the young man to find an excuse to step into the personal space and possibly graze his female (Indian?) colleague.
