Their burgers is just wowzii. We loved their chicken popcorn and all their choco drinks. The good thing is halal and you can mention it so they’ll make sure it’s doesn’t touch the non halal food.

One of the best burgers in Brisbane! The buns were fluffy and airy enough to be light but not enough to collapse when held. The beef patties were cooked very well; you can taste the charring from start to finish. The beer-battered fries are perfectly balanced between being crunchy and thick. I'd recommend getting some with the burgers. The restaurant is well-decorated, giving it a great atmosphere. The service was great too! Reasonably priced as well.

I don’t understand the slogan saying something about being the best in Australia. There’s a heap of places that do better burger and have a better atmosphere. It is very much above average but not mind blowing. I got the Caesar burger which had a huge slab of moz, which was pretty enjoyable and crispy crumbed. Pricing isn’t bad, but probably won’t go again unless someone else has paid and organised it.

I've read about this place and thought it might be nice to try a meal here for the first time. From the get go, the staff was already lacking. A friend & I waited several minutes standing in the doorway before anyone approached us and told us to take a seat. The gentleman was pretty carefree about it all and we decided to sit outside and we were handed menus not long after that. Approximately 10-15mins later, the gentleman approached again and took our orders. I mentioned about some house water for the table and he said he would be right back with some. Barely five minutes after ordering, the large chips had already come out. What I expected in my mind was different to what came out. A small basket, yet we paid $8.80 for that. Already slightly annoyed, I saw the burgers for our table were sitting in the overhead heater, yet no one grabbed them for a good 4-5minutes. Once the burgers and our other drinks we ordered arrived, I again asked if we could have some house water for the table. No one returned. Roughly 15mins into eating our meals, I looked around for the gentleman who served us the food, who immediately knew what I was talking about and returned with house water finally. Overall the entire experience was pretty ho-hum. The pricing for the burgers and drinks was okay, but the price you pay for a large chips is petty at best, considering the minimal quantity. When it comes down to it, its the service that really let down the experience. Disjointed and not cohesive is probably the best way to sum it up. For what might seem like a petty request for house water was an ordeal in itself. You should not have to ask three separate times for house water, when it's something basic supplied when you sit down at a café or restaurant. The scary thing is, this was a week night and there were maybe 6-7 tables of customers. I'd hate to see how this place can cope on a busier night or weekend service. Going by the other reviews I've read on here, it seems to be a ongoing and notable issue.

I was here for lunch. It was a great atmosphere inside the restaurant despite only a few people being there. The food itself did not disappoint. The burger was juicy and delicious and the pop-korn chicken was fantastic. Personally I wasn't a big fan of the cheesy gravy as it overpowered and was disproportionate on the burger but overall the mean was fantastic! A big shout out to the English waiter who displayed exceptional customer service as I was leaving. Overall the meal is slightly expensive but would recommend it as an experience.

However when asked for what burger I was after, I asked for a few things not on the burger and when received the burger I told the lady that I had asked for no slaw so she took it and gave it back to me and they had just scraped the slaw off not made a new burger. Amazing food, fun drinks, friendly staff and fun/youthful environment. However, almost returned home after arriving to a long line up. Booking line and payment line is the same and you have to wait regardless of if you book or not. In my opinion, skip the booking. We had to ask for cutlery 5 time from different staff, some patties were inconsistent (more well done that others) and some sauces were missing from chips therefore we asked 3 different staff to please get it for us. Overall, they have great potential to make this restaurant amazing by greeting customers faster by splitting the lines and faster service.

I really liked the friendly staff and setting of the restaurant it was quite funky and had a relaxed atmosphere. The price is a bit steep compared to other burger restaurants however the burger was very tasty. One thing I didn't really like was the fact it took close to 45 minutes to get a burger and we visited close to 1.45pm on a Sunday when the lunch time rush had cleared out. We received our chips within 5 minutes of ordering, however had to wait 40 minutes for the burger to arrive. By then the chips were cold so maybe pass on to the staff its preferred to have all the food arrive at once. Overall it was ok, I'll come back and give you guys another try :)

Been to the surfers paradise one a few times and loved it, thought we would take a newbie to the Newstead one as we are always telling everyone how good the place is and unfortunately we were all deeply disappointed. We all ordered together, yet 3 out of 4 meals were brought to the table together, the fourth wasn’t brought for Atleast another 15 minutes while the whole time the cheat platter was sitting under the ‘heat’ lamp waiting for the burger to be made. Something went wrong in the kitchen and no communication had been put across to the wait staff, it wasn’t until one walked up 15 minutes later after obviously seeing us missing a plate and asked if we were still waiting for stuff, after we said yes she then proceeds to tell us that the gas is off? Well that would have been nice to know 15 minutes beforehand, you know, when the 3 other dishes were brought out? Then to be told ‘oh we will fix something up for you when you pay’ for absolutely nothing to be done. So basically wasted a whole cheat platter and burger because the burger was under done by the time we got it and the cheat platter was cold and dry. Extremely disappointing considering our bill was over $200. If you want good decent milky lane, travel the extra to surfers or you’ll be left disappointed.

First time visiting the Newstead Milky Lane, I took my friends here for their first experience as I’ve already been before, but to the one in Surfers Paradise. Food and drinks are amazing! Only negative is that all of our drinks came out one by one, and by the time the last drink came out half of us had already finished and were ready to order our second.. it would have been nicer if the drinks could all be served within closer time frames. Thanks! *Edit Thanks for the reply! I appreciate the offer, however I already revisited Milky Lane in Surfer's Paradise last Saturday night and my faith was already restored. From the time that I have come to Australia, I've always heard about Milky Lane and precisely about the Sydney branch. So finally gave it a thought to visit Milky Lane, but in Queensland as I stay here, and when I visited, I understood what the hype was all about. The food was just yumm, the service was great. The vibe was good. Surprised with the fact that the restaurant was busy and yet the customer service was surprisingly really good. And yes last but not the least Churro Fries... I mean what even!! I couldn't think of it till I ate it... The very best thing!! A very good place for a weekend dinner!!

The loaded fries were disappointing, chips weren’t fresh, grated cheese on top wasn’t melted, a few small cubes of bacon and barely any cheesy gravy. The worst loaded fries I’ve had. Lil Weezy burger was average. We waited half an hour for our dessert before I asked for my money back but the waiter sped up the order. Unfortunately my impression with Milky Lane is, it’s all show with little quality. I would have loved to give it a better score as it’s a nice looking restaurant.

Burgers are okay without being great but you can get better burgers for similar money. My biggest annoyance was we ordered sides of fries to eat with the burgers. But the fries came 10 minutes before the burgers and were lukewarm, so we had to eat them straight away. Big tip to management - the fries are a side, not an entree - therefore you eat them with the burgers... A little common sense needed.

Had our first experience with my wife at Milkylane Thursday night for dinner. Loaded fries were amazing and so were the burgers. We were really looking fwd to trying the Milky bar gold and biscoff vanilla slice however the end dish that came out was missing the vanilla ice cream and lotus biscuits. The food was amazing, the vibe was amazing. Even if you only go once, I highly recommend this place. I got the vegan burger and it was TO DIE FOR. My partner got one of the cheeseburgers and he feels the same way. And don't even get me started on the loaded fries; they are some of the best I've ever had, and I've tried many. Super impressed! Their Instagram is not an exaggeration. Milky Lane is just SO.DAMN.GOOD! The burger incredibly full of flavour, "A-MUST" is the Deep Fried Sneakers-dipped first in Pancake batter with a shot glass of melted peanut butter!! The signature thickshakes also are like a "cheat meal" within themselves. Plus how fun are Churros Fries with Choc dip! *jaw still on the ground drooling* as I type!

It may look like your average neon-lights diner but Milky Lane is anything but! I wandered in with some friends on a Friday night, and was immediately greeted by the friendly staff and incredible aroma of all the amazing food. The restaurant was filling up quickly (it was around 7:00 pm) but we managed to snag a table. We ordered the Pop-Korn Chicken, Loaded Fries and Reese’s Peanut Butter martini’s (served by a lovely gentleman at the bar named Sam!) The chicken was crisp, flavorful, and moist. The toppings on the fries worked together beautifully. The Milky Lane special sauce was impeccable. By the end of the meal we were planning our next visit! 11/10!

Had a great time at milky lane with old work friends. It was a nice environment with the little raised booth in the back. The drinks were delish - I had a choc milkshake. I appreciated how friendly and welcoming Jordan (staff member) was when he served us, always coming back to keep an eye on us, without doing those annoying check backs that interrupt the flow in the conversation. It's not a cheap time out, but worth it for the food, drinks and atmosphere.

Grabbed their lil weezy and loaded fries. Flavor wise, Wouldn’t say it was one of the best double cheeseburgers I have had and the bun was dry. Size wise, and the burger was smaller in comparison with other cheeseburgers I have had before for the same price. The loaded fries on the other hand, were tasty and rich in flavors but for the size of a burger box (only half full) of chips, $12 was a complete ripoff. That’s why, after taking everything into consideration, I’m only giving them 3 stars. Really disappointed because I was so looking forward to their food but won’t be going back again.

Came here after a concert with my friends (3 of us) and we couldn't be happier. The store wasn't very busy so the wait staff gave us extra attention. I would say that this store has the best American styled food. Despite being generally fattier food, there wasn't excessive grease at all, good amount of seasoning on all food. AMAZING portions of food. so definitely good value for money. The drinks what we needed after being at the triffid. perfect for vegetarians too. would recommend 10/10.

The food tasted very fresh, with the burgers/chips not being greasy. The wait times were also pretty good. The special cocktail was able to be served without alcohol, and was also incredible in looks and taste. I only tried the one, but it seems like a lot of the interesting and crazy drinks are able to be made as a mocktail. Can't wait to try more! The service was also super friendly, but the music was super loud. I could barely hear the staff or the person opposite me sometimes. Overall though, we will certainly be back!

The worst part about our experience was the service. This isn’t the fault of the employees, they’re simply understaffed. I think I counted 5 people total working, which just isn’t enough for a restaurant of the size. Everyone was friendly enough, but when there’s 30 tables you need more than 2 people taking orders. The food itself was pretty good, the burgers and burger sauce were the highlight, with the buns being some of the best I’ve ever encountered. The sauce was a better version of Big Mac sauce basically. The “special” milkshake did not live up to the expectations set by the restaurant’s Instagram account. This place seems to fit into the classic Australian public dining trope of instagrammability over taste and quality. Additionally the theme of the restaurant is characterized by the fetishization of black and hip hop culture, which is problematic because the staff and likely ownership are presumably not African-American.

The burgers here were delicious. I had the Kevin Bacon burger and I would recommend it to anyone, though it is a rather large burger! The meat had a lovely charred almost smoky flavour to it and the sauces accompanied it well. The staff were friendly and fast. We were able to be seated quickly although it was only for table for 2. The food came fresh and hot as well relatively quickly (about 20 minutes) considering how busy it was. The decor was interesting and inviting. I would definitely recommend this place, especially it you’re looking for a place to have a few drinks and celebrate an event. I would make a reservation for groups larger than 5 people. Though I would not recommend if you’re looking for somewhere quiet!

Very tasty burgers, friendly service and great atmosphere. Can definitely recommend for small groups looking for great burgers and drinks. They definitely have seemed to sort out some teething issues from their opening weeks. Just be aware, I believe they still charge an extra 10% for groups over 10 people and won't split the bill for more than 4 people.

He wasnt wearing a name badge, but as soon as I arrived I could tell it was him. He has a certain star quality about him. Like you just know he's an entertainer without being too in your face. Also, I was pleased with his attire. Casual. Uniform. Yet memorable. And confident. But not too confident. Understated. But I like when people who serve me don't try to take all my attention. Jordan was like that. He reminds me of the guy in the novel that the girl is friends with and should love, but she chooses the other guy. Jordan, we choose you. I hope my son's are like you. I hope my neighbours are like you. You seem like the guy who would take his neighbours bins out on bin day if they forgot. We need more people like you. Jordan 10 out of 10. Every component between the two fluffy buns were on-point; I had the chicken and beef burgers and they were both incredibly succulent; juicy and tender; with well-paired in-house sauces. He recanted a tale to us over the flickering light of a battery powered LED candle and some upbeat hip hop music. A tale of the beginnings of Milky Lane. This story was filled with wonder, mystery, romance, and light hearted but slightly on the nose comedy (depends on your sense of humour). We delved deep into the theories behind it all, who shot biggie? Did Tupac fake his own death? Will Kanye really achieve Presidential success? All this and more. I left that evening with a belly full of food and a mind full of tasty tasty knowledge. I would like to sincerely applaud Jordan for his service, a man of honour, grace and the workings of a manager in training for sure. To those reading this in depth review, I urge you, nay, I implore you to attend Milky Lane on the eve of a Saturday and ask for Jordan. Ask him to spin you a tale or two, and be sure to order the Chic-Kanye and a melontini, you won't be disappointed.

This place is awesome. Such a great fit out and some graffiti art work by a Brisbane local (@sofles). It didn't start there though. Greeted by smiling and helpful staff, even in the busiest of times (when I was there), the placed was packed and buzzing. Was informed of a wait time after being greeted due to the peak time I went in, which was great to know. I ordered the "Big L" burger with Bacon and grilled pineapple as suggested by one of the helpful wait staff, great suggestion by the way, and ordered the " Vodka Red bull cocktail", a quirky twist on a vodka Redbull with a Redbull foam, a must try. My food came out pretty quickly for a super busy venue, about 15min 😊👌🏽 and the cocktail came out within 5min. Great service all round. Keep up the good work!

Staff were friendly and helpful but the food is incredibly overpriced. I paid $12.50 for a shake and it was, in one word, disappointing. Everything was aesthetically pleasing but average tasting, and expensive.

Understandably the service was pretty average for a newer place. Multiple orders wrong, given wrong food and was blamed for something that's not on the menu. The receipt was out a few dollars but the clerk was nice enough to just say all good. This could all be fixed by removing table service. Menu has a few hidden nasties including 10% surcharge for groups over 10, no split bills. Both of these were again requested to be changed for the errors which was nice enough. Would save you so much effort and frustration on just having people come up and pay for things as they want them or better training for your wait staff. Cheers guys

Why can I only give them 5 stars? Where do I even begin? This is a long review, just be warned! From start to finish the experience was amazing, that even includes booking my table! Originally a booking of 12 evolved into 18 and the manager Jarryd didn't even hesitate to assist me! The moment we walked through the door we were in amazement of the venue! Not just amazing design and craftsmanship, but an ocean of friendly hellos and faces. Jarryd himself (who I hope is a manager because if not he should be xx) came over to say hello and introduce himself. We got drinks off an awesome gentlemen who had all the good suggestions 😍😍 THE DRINKS ARE THE BOMB-DIGGITY!!! TRY ONE OF EACH 110% RECOMMEND!!! Now the food, taking our order (of 18 people) was a breeze! Our food came out within an awesome time and it tasted amazing! I myself am a Resturant Manager of a local establishment and I would recommend this venue to everyone. Overall, honestly my words do not do justice to Milky Lane BNE & it's team. Set in ritzy Gaswork the restaurant is great , though more Valley then Newstead. The shake was Awesome, the burger good. Definitely great novelty factor for a 20’s - 30’s market.
