The young bloke loves coming here for the Coke flavoured wings. I on the other hand have been abusing the burgers here on several occasions. The overall construction of the burgers is really well put together. Usually, the bigger you make it, the messier it gets, yet there's still a way to get it right and make it somewhat manageable when trying to eat it. The team here have got that down pat every time I've been and regardless of what I've added and how big the burgers have gotten. The meats are always and I mean always cooked perfectly!!! PERFECTLY!! Servings are really well portioned for the price and the staff are just lovely as well. Haven't had an experience here yet where the staff have been anything but tremendous.

OH MY GOD! These burgers are extraterrestrial. We have only ordered trough Uber eats so please add transport time to the formula and even so everything comes perfect. Fabulous service! Amazing burgers and real American style shakes. Do yourself a favour and get the loaded onion rings. Very cute cowboy themed decor. This little place is extremely popular so I recommend ringing ahead to order. We waited about 30 minutes for our food (worth it) but in future I'd order ahead.

Exceptionally good! We live in Clayton and just noticed that this place opened around a month ago and we are glad we found it. Menu looked interesting so we gave it a go. Very tasty. We had Berry Cheesecake shake, Philly Steak burger and brisket loaded fries, incredibly tasty. The kids had the Hawaiian hotdogs and were most impressed. I'm surprised this place isn't a huge franchise already as it's definitely better than Carl's Jnr just down the road a bit.

Food was delicious, though the burgers came out luke-warm. The service seemed very sterile while the front of house staff was "multitasking" with the phone. No explanation of how service works, half self service/half table service. Wooden food tray had exposed nail and was possibly uncleaned from previous order. Plastic cups and cutlery combined with porcelain plates is very strange. Some light bulbs were out. Lots of room for improvement.

Nice burger place - open late. They have these chips with fried chicken; it was really really good. But the burger was not. the Beef used just tasted terrible. The patties were over cooked and tasted like rank/burnt oil. There's also nothing smoked here. So...it's not really a smokehouse. I'd definitely recommend the chips though. They were on point.

Hands down this is a must visit burger joint. I ordered the Philly steak burger with the Mexican street loaded fries to share and was not disappointed. The bun was soft but didn't tear apart, and the meat was so juicy! The service was good and the atmosphere really sets the mood for a late night food outlet. This place is a must eat. Best burger, wings, chips I've ever tried. The burger was decadent, with some of the juiciest patties and sauce combinations I have had. The Bird's Eye wings were fried to perfection, not greasy at all, with an amazing maple flavour. When we talk about the chips, these were what I imagined Heston Blumenthal triple cooked chips to taste like. The atmosphere is great, you can tell everyone is enjoying the vibe and the food. I am not 100% sure if I like it or not. I like the Burger and loaded fries. But the mushroom sauce on my Burger was close to cold, I'm not sure if it meant to be like that. Fries are crispy even when I take some home. I do have some concern about the serving wooden tray. There was an exposed nail and visible dirt in the tray. Even through there's lining grease paper it's not the most likable look. I hope I just got the only bad tray. Also would probably be more sustainable if you can swap the plastic cups and cutlery to something reusable. Those paper takeaway box and serving tray is a very good step to change. I will probably give it another go down the track. This place has great potential.

Omgsh I 100% recommend that every fast food lover visits this gem. If you ask me I would say that this is Australia's take on the classic In-N-Out Burger. Overall this place is decent. I had a double beef burger and chips which were juicy in a meal combo. It was very well priced for the quality (Approx $14). I didn’t like the tray they had served it on, it looked like it would be difficult to clean and I was under the impression they don’t clean them very well as I had someone else’s lunch crumbs and lettuce still on it. I also don’t like the fact that the forks and knives were plastic, it felt more like a fish and chip shop then a dine in restaurant. I also asked the staff member twice to please get me a fork to which she said I could get them myself. Not great customer service in my opinion, the two female staff members looked like they hated there job and acted like any request was to hard.

I give this burger place 4 stars overall but please check out how different items rated for me and my family BURGERS - 5 stars! mexican, sheriffs choice and wild west - Absolutely awesome burgers. We loved it. soft buns..fresh patties and amazing sauces and toppings. All 5 stars for them! They are also very competitively priced. You wont get such tasty burgers anywhere else for $15! Highly recommended! Loaded Fries (dynamite) - 4 stars! It was good crispy fries and good toppings too. Milkshakes - 3 stars. Mango and white choc and cookies & cream - Nothing special. Infact very average. Ambience - OK. Do not expect very upmarket ambience. Small place. At peak times inside can be very noisy. Service - Good service, not out of the world. Bit of amaeturish but no complaints. All in all a must visit for burgers lovers.

One of the better burger restaurants I've eaten at. The burgers are large, very tasty and fresh. More than a mouthful! The hot dogs: one of the best around. Full of toppings, fresh and flavourful ingredients, a wonderful combination of cooked and raw (on the type of hot dog I had-Mexican), with the right amount of heat (both ways). Very good shakes as well. The staff are very friendly and honest and the restaurant has great Tex-Mex decor. Will definitely be going back and trying some of their other selections. For the American style burger / hot dog connoisseur, Butler's Smokehouse is definitely worth going to!

Ordered some food for pick-up for dinner today. This was the first time my family of 4 ate food from here.. and it was INCREDIBLY A-MAZING!!!!! The burgers were something else! LOL. The kids burger was quite large. My 7 year old loved it. But couldn't finish it. The remaining burgers we split 3 ways for the rest of my family so we could taste them all. And this was what we thought about them. ►"The Wild West Burger" with bacon & egg was my MOST favourite out of all of them. It was also my husband's MOST favourite! ►"The Sherriff's Choice" with BBQ & Mushroom was my Mother-in-law's MOST favourite. She was thrilled with the flavours as she loved the sweet bbq sauce. ►"The Gun Smoke" with beetroot, was very delightful as well... but would be our 3rd fav. if we were judging out of the 3 of them. But to be honest if this would kill all other burgers from any other burger shop. lol. FRIES: We had the plain large fries. All of us thought they were very good. WINGS: We had the "Smokey Buffalo Wings". And just as a warning... they were quite spicy! So for those sensitive people out there, be careful. However, for those who LOVE spice with no problem like my husband, it's not too spicy at all. lol. Next time, I'd like to try this with a dipping sauce though. And lastly, "THE ONION RINGS". They weren't too bad... but, there weren't many for sharing. And next time I think I'll try out one of the loaded fries in replacement of these to try out. Overall, it was very pleasant.. and the workers were very kind & sweet. I will definitely visit again. And if you're looking for a new flavour, it's deifnitely worth trying out. Also, it's not exactly easy to get a parking spot... but if you get there a bit early around 5:00-5:30 - before the 6:00 rush dinner time you can catch a good parking space off of Londsdale St. It's literally on the very corner of Londsdale & Clow. The last shop at the end. Easy to find once you are there. If you've read this far, thank you... and you're welcome! lol. Sorry I took no photos... we were too hungry! lol.

Came to Butler's today having driven past many a time, seen the sign and thought I'd give the BBQ Joint in dandy a go. Got here, looked at the menu, saw it was Burgers, Wings & Dogs, no smoked goodness to be found. I decided then on the Gun Smoke, Double Beef, Double Cheese, Cos, Ajvar, Beetroot Mayo, Smoked Paprika Kale Slaw. Brioche Bun, without seeds. Sitting, waiting for my burger, drinking my Holstein Grape (place is Halal) checking out the nice mural work. On proud display is Coles Brand Chocolate, Strawberry, & Caramel Toppings for their Shakes. With another proud display of Coles Brand Special Burger & Smokey BBQ Sauces. I agree, these sauces are pretty bomb, but don't tell your customers you're using store bought special sauces... home brand at that. It's not a good look. My burger arrives, I've drunk most of my soda. (They did have a mini rush, so fairs fair). The patties, thin & dry. Not enough fat in the mince. The beetroot Mayo is overpowering. The Ajvar, a subtle flavour at best, not to be tasted. (Seriously though, if you haven't tried Ajvar on a burger, bun, Ajvar, Patty, Cheese, do it.) The bun tasted old. The cheese, well we all know what American burger cheese tastes like. Could pick up a slight smokiness from the smoked paprika, so that was pleasant. The chips came out warm, not piping hot, indicating they hadn't been freshly cooked. They had a "possible store bought" seasoning on them. The chips where almost sweet. Would I come back? With the Pav basically next door, Cultural Commons, and Double'D down the road in Springvale. No, I will not be back.

No functioning restroom either which is a real bother with eating sauced up wings, messy burgers or simply having the kids with us. A solution needs to found other then having to walk accross the street to KFC, where you will found a whole other headache...

Tried Butler's Smokehouse last night! Ordered Mexican Loaded Chips, Mexican Cowboy & Sheriff's Choice (ordered without beetroot mayo). First came the chips (they call them fries but they were actually chips), came in quick topped with flavoured chicken strips, corn, bean and cheese sauce. Chicken strips on the chip tasted great. The chicken strips had a different flavour I still can't guess what it was but was great. The cheese sauce did wonders on the chips as well. The burgers arrive! I had a look at them and realised I would need a dozen of napkins. I took a big bite of the monstrous Sheriff’s Choice and the juices, caramelised onions & grilled mushrooms wanted to slide out of the bread. My fingers drenched with melted double cheese and beef patty juice “MMMMMM…yeah”. I said to my wife “this is my type of Badtameez Burger”. I had half of it and I was nearly full, mager neeyat khrab thi. My friends know me well what sort of foodie I am. So I finished it and slowly started munching the chips. I love to finish my food. My wife, on the other hand, loved her Mexican Cowboy and couldn’t finish it all, so I had to pack the rest. Prices are good. I paid $39 for 2 burgers, 1 loaded fries and a can of drink and every dollar was worth it. I’d religiously go there again and again because of my experience.
