Decent customer service, got food out in a very timely manner, love the aesthetic of the place itself. Wasn’t a fan of the bacon in the “old school” burger, but was otherwise very nice. Drinks could be a lot better. They’re very sub par. Otherwise very happy with the overall experience.

Amazing burgers. We tried 2 varieties of chicken burgers and were pleasantly surprised by the portions, quality and taste. The accompanying fries were crisp and not too oily. Such a delight stumbling upon this hidden gem in St. Kilda. The staff here is wonderful too. Good job Fat Jak's.

Fairly quick service given I came in with 2 others and it was a city festival day. Apparently you’re not allowed to split the bill. Standard fries were standard and well salted. The macaroni and cheese patty on my burger was pretty nasty. Basically no flavor and added a rubber like consistency. I ended up taking it off after a few bites. The burger was fine after that. I had a bite of my friends loaded hotdog which was and really flavorful. Good feel in the restaurant and lots of ventilation given the large windows/deck like opening to the Main Street.

Just had lunch there before and have to say was definitely better than the last time I visited about 6 months ago, as I said to the waitress before leaving it seems like since last time they’ve dialled back on the menu options for better(no more filler) and the whole burger of the month thing, which I think is a really good decision is pull away from the gimmick’s and it shows through the food. Keep focusing on the fundamentals, less is more❤️

Lovely food and a large variety of food to choose from the menu, including vegetarian and vegan (yes, BeyondMeat not just random mushed veggies). Service was a bit slow, and legs started to ache waiting outside. Amazing experience at Fat jaks in St.kilda. Such an extensive menu of burgers, loaded fries, parmas, hot dogs, pizza and salads. Its perfect as there's something for everyone! My mates and I ordered NY fat jacks pizza, mac cheese hot dog, Mexican Parma, beef brisket loaded fries and a range of burgers. Everything was delicious! The staff super friendly and accomodating to such a massive order! Perfect place for a chilled lunch with mates, a family dinner with the kids or an epic cheatmeal with a bunch of buddies or solo with no judgements ;) Whatever your reason Fat Jaks is the place to go!

Fat Jak’s. The cool little burger joint on Barkly. It’s just got such a good vibe. Upon walking in we were greeted by friendly staff and were quick to inspect the menu. You will be spoilt for choice, there are quite a few cleverly named menu items to choose from but if you get stuck trying to lock in a decision the staff are across their menu and are happy to help! I ordered the “Plain Jane” (but I’m not, FYI 😋) and my husband ordered “The Fat Jak”, “Chilli Cheese Fries” and the “Seasoned Fries” to share. They are fully licensed so we also ordered beer with our meals but I did notice a nifty little shelf in the corner loaded with self serve soft drink - which you can refill as many times as you like! Our food arrived and to my absolute surprise and delight, I noticed that the top burger bun had been stamped with the Fat Jak logo! Small details like this get me excited, it’s simple yet it sets them apart from any other burger joint in Melbourne. I polished that burger quicker than you can finish reading this sentence.. I’m not exaggerating guys - I was entranced with the mixture of flavours and textures going on in my mouth. Everything just works! And the fries? #mindblown

This little ripper of a joint is an Aussie twist on american diner type food and does not fail to quiet the screams of my cravings. One of my "Go-To's" when I want to treat myself and not count calories, or to improve my mood. Have been to Jak's a number of times now and have not been disappointed yet. Have tried the burgers and the hotdogs which were delicious. My favourite here is the Haloumi fries. Cooked to perfection are a great side to go with your burger or dog. Lots of drinks to go with and an unlimited soft drink cup if it tickles your fancy. Definitely recommend giving them a try.

Fat Jaks is the perfect place if you're looking for an epic burger feast, or even just after a night out. I've had the Trailor Park Hot Dog twice now it's so good. They put just the right amount of mustard, ketchup, onions and pickles. I actually find myself constantly craving it. We also shared the Hot Wings which I thought were super tasty but my partner wasn't such a fan of the sauce. I'd definitely be keen to see how their parmas and pizzas compare to their burgers/hot dogs!

Serious subject for management. Always enjoyed this place and would give it 5 stars normally. However, I can not go again as I've noticed the last 3 times I've been, now the cook's touch the food with their bare hands while their cooking and putting the burgers together. I dont want no sweaty hands on my food lol.. I dont know where those hands have been. They used to wear gloves always change gloves when neccessary. Not anymore though. Hope this can change back. It was ok...The chips were a bit average not seasoned enough and that's usually my achilles. My chicken burger was tasty enough yet my partner thought his chilli burger was super average. The wings were mega spicy and probably the highlight even though the sauce was a bit over the top. I'd recommend you try the parma though it looked pretty good.

Some of the best burgers I've ever had. Right in the heart of St Kilda so there is plenty to do afterwards. All staff are lovely and friendly, and meals are quick to arrive. Tip: chip servings are huge so I'd recommend sharing between two people

Fried chicken burger tasted like a Hungry Jacks Whopper. Too much sauce which over powered everything. Fried chicken wasnt crunchy. Burgers are always great, but sides are such a mess! I've tried their regular fries, their truffle fries, their halloumi fries (so salty!) and their nachos but none have been very good at all. Such a shame as I always want to get their food but then a lack of appetizing sides keeps me away from frequenting as much. Please spend some serious time thinking about how to make your sides better.

One of the better burger joints I've been too. They actually use quality ground beef patties. They use actual cheese in their fries and not the processed artifical cheese sauce that most burger joints these days are using. The portions are quite decent for the price especially the Parma. Ordered Fat Jak’s for the first time tonight, and honestly won’t be the last time. Beautiful Spicy Mother Clucker Burger and fresh hot chips in which you could tell they were made fresh (didn’t even go soggy after the 15 minute uBer drive to here - still hot, fresh and crispy). I found myself wanting more burger and it was ever so slightly smaller than what I expected for the price, but that might be a bit picky. Overall delicious, and man those chips were a huge portion for $7!! Feeds two!! Couldn’t finish it myself.. Thanks Fat Jaks! You’ve got a future customer!

Looking at some of the bad reviews I thought it was about time to write something about fat jaks and set information straight for people genuinely interested in visiting this burger joint. I live 40 mins from fat jaks and yet I make the trip every sunday and sometimes on a Friday as well to get food from here because of the mouthwatering food. I have ordered multiple things off of their menu and everything has been delicious. The fatjaks sauce is the closest thing you can get to big mac sauce and their hot sauce is literally to die for. It's a bargain if you get the meal deal that comes with a side of chips and a refillable drink. The food always comes our promptly and steaming hot and the service is always lovely. There are no communication barriers with any workers they all speak fluent English and are will come and check up on you to make sure you are enjoying yourself. The loaded chips, parmas and burgers have all been amazing thus far and If you are looking for genuinely spicy food that tastes great and isnt overly oily then this is definately the place for you.

Great, affordable 'American' food ranging from buffalo wings and chili cheese fries to burgers, mac and cheese and even pizzas. Seating isn't the most comfortable but that isn't a big issue given the target market. Friendly staff too! Fat Jaks has been on my list of places to visit for a while. I'll start off by saying the staff here are amazing. So welcoming. So attentive and just what you want from staff. Also it's so good seeing more places offering free refills. Hope it catches on. As for the food. Parma was a decent size and had great flavour. Chips were really good. Sauces, especially the Smokey bbq complimented the chips really well. As for the burger. It was good. But honesty it wasn't anything special. The beef was alright. Just a bit dry for my liking. Need to go back and try their other offerings like their chicken wings and pizza! But yeah, I will be back. Thanks for a great dinner.
