I personally had a good experience here! Came here on a whim last night at ~9pm. Service was decent and the food was also pretty good. I got the honey mustard burger and the honey mustard sauce was really nice. The curly fries were okay, personally found them a bit dry. In terms of the speed of service, I thought it was great. The food came so quickly and no real complaints. Also, the vibe of the place is super cute - nice American diner style restaurant with tv’s that play the music videos of old, retro songs. Probably won’t come here again just cause I don’t eat beef or pork, but it’s nice for a quick bite

I will be honest, I ordered Big Daddy burger, double patties, double cheese, the burger even though they said it's angus was too dry and lack of spices. The cheese is not bad, but it's kinda like the cheese spread which no taste like a real cheese. The American flag on top of the burger not helping it. Almost no vegetables and pickles, almost tasteless. The good thing here is the price is not bad, and I like the atmosphere of old time American restaurants I usually saw on the movies.

It's pretty decent taste with a cool enough vintage milk bar theme. However, my burger was a bit too wet, juice kept coming out and got everywhere. Chips were not very well seasoned either.

A decent burger joint with a variety of selections. A little filthy at places and the sofas can be sticky. I'm my opinion the portion is a little small and the curly fries are way too salty. Overall the brisket burger is decent though and would recommend. This is a great place for takeouts and smaller to average appetite levels.

Walking into Big Daddy's Burger Bar, you feel transported to a classic 1960s American Diner with Neon signs, booths & decor. Like any good diner, there are plenty to choose to eat including burgers, dawgs, wings, waffles and fries. There are also lots of toppings and sauces to pimp up your goods even more. The Big Daddy burger with egg, lettuce & tomato was a beast & had a great classic burger taste & feel to it. The Jnr Daddy is just as good. A side of crunchy fries are a must although I was having food envy looking at the loaded fries passing me. A good shake is testiment to a good diner & here the shakes are sweet, thick & oh so naughty but oh so nice. Fast & friendly service ensures you a fun time.

I enjoyed my meal here, although they have been posting a lot about a $10 special for a burger, fries and a can for months and did not say anything about when it was ending. When I came, the cashier had stated that the special was not running anymore. The meal ended up being $13 which is fine, but more social media updates would be great.

The aura and ambience of the foodshop itself will draw you in. It has 60s/70s decor of a typical American burger shop with a white & red color theme, filled with old brand signages & a TV that shows 90s American Pop music. Dining in there is entertainment. For the food, there's a wide range of burgers, chicken, salad & milkshakes(!) offered. I ordered a Morning Glory which has egg, a generous serving of steak strips & smothering BBQ sauce. Since they have a "$10 Combo promo", your regular $11-13 burger ala carte now comes with twister fries & a soda/juice drink, all for just $10 during Mon,Tue and Wed 👍🏻. I badly need a cold drink & was so satisfied with New York Chunk Choco milkshake! It has bits(swads) of chocolate at the bottom! 😋 With a $4 upgrade with the combo instead of its regular price of $8 each, which is a good deal. I definitely enjoyed my dining here esp. this was the day I found out my baby's gender, I had to eat much!

The crumbed wings were great! Although I wasn't mad about the brisket burger. The workers in the shop were putting up Christmas decorations whilst I was there, which seems nice, but also involved climbing up high with butt right next to our table. So... maybe something to think about for next time.

Was skeptical at first as there are many burger joints in Newtown. However was pleasantly surprised. The jalapeno and jr burgers were delicious, made to order and fresh. The secret sauce is the key ingredient. I also got a chance to taste the assburner chili..phew..mind blowing hot. I also got a delicious root beer float. Would have been nice if it was in a chilled beer mug..just my 2 cents. I will be back for more. Good Job Big Daddy's.

Not sure why, but every item ordered came out individually. One person at the table got their food... five minute wait for the next meal... then the fries... eventually my milkshake. Was told there’s New staff out the back so they are getting used to things, but still felt awkward. Food was okay though. Friend said pork burger was delicious, and I enjoyed my strawberry shake. Vegetable fajita was very bland. Fries were a bit overcooked but okay.

Not overly impressed... the buns were a little tough and I always hope to be offered for my burger to be cooked medium, at a dedicated burger bar, but sadly they were all cooked 'well done'. I had hoped for jalapeno poppers, as had been described to me, but they were no longer on the menu. The sauces were nice and very good curly fries. I always go here with me friend we love it so much, the Burgers are amazing and juicy, curly fries are so tasty, milkshakes are great and I love the nachos here. I recommend the hey brown sugar burger😍. Also prices are pretty good for the food you are getting. Right next to the bus stop and in the heart of Newtown so you can explore the shops next to it.

The Big Daddy Burger was tasty--good patty but lacked in overall flavour. Curly fried were tasty. Service was okay (forgot to add my chilli but were very pleasant). The white light in this restaurant however was very off putting--made us feel like we were eating in a public toilet. Big Daddy's Burger Bar could take some inspiration from Frankie's... some toned down lighting, good music and larger bar and addition of cocktails may change the vibe.

I really like the food here in general. The only thing I was disappointed in was their super spicy burger. I'm not a fan of the sauce they use. It's not very spicy and it doesn't have a pleasant flavour. I collect super hot sauces so if anyone's a hot sauce enthusiast you may also be disappointed. Based purely on food quality, this place is pretty good. It is on the pricier side, and for some reason the POS system and / or ordering process is ridiculously slow (they should try automating it). Nice American diner feel that you don't see around Sydney much anymore. Oh and try the ass-burner sauce. They aren't kidding.

The food was great and the lady who took my order at the counter was very friendly and helpful. The downside was that I asked for no whipped cream in my shake. It took a long time to make (which was not an issue) but when it came, there was whipped cream on it. I mentioned the whipped cream to the blonde/light brown haired lady who gave it to me, she gave me a dirty look, took the shake back and brought it back a minute later. The lid had been opened, the cream wiped off and the lid reapplied. It was noticeable as the cream was all on the underside of the lid. When she brought it back, she was crass and unfriendly.

My Big Daddy experience was an OMG positive !! I went here with my friends and despite the comments below me I found the experience really great. I have had the opportunity to sit and dine in while also ordering take-out and both experiences were extremely pleasant. The staff was good and very friendly. However, my first burger experience at this diner was the OMG burger! And to be quite frank, it was hottt! Like borderline painfully hot! It was truly a delicious burger; juicy, flavourful and hits the right spot. I'm not quite sure if I would order the OMG burger again, but as a devout hot-head I might actually do it again. This place is a 2-thumbs up! The portion of onion rings is on the small side, but the mayonnaise sauce that comes with goes really well

I just LOVE a good old fashion 60s diner, good ole fashion comfort food reinvented with, flavoured batter, layers of toppings, grease, meat, dips and sauces! It gets messy - so that's how you know it's good. I love it here, it's relaxed, casual and is a real stand out on the King Street strip. The Signature WHO'S UR DADDY is a mountainous BURGER of beef, pulled pork, slaw, swiss cheese, bacon which drips out a rich mayo and mustard sauce with every bite! It stands at about 15cm or so high and it's to die for seriously! The CHILLI CHEESY FRIES with Con Carne & Bacon and ONION RINGS were the perfect accompaniment which I'd alternate with each bite of my burger, it added to the excitement of this meal. If you've still got room for more, which I did, try the CHICKEN WINGS with the blue cheese dip (the colour a bit off putting but trust me, dip away cause its awesome). But if you're after a dish that makes a statement, the CHICKEN & BACON WAFFLES is served on a massive chopping board with the meat harpooned with a Steak Knife for you to work it with your waffle. So many choices here, so many flavors to experiment with and so many reasons to come back! I come here all the time, the booths are relaxing to sit in. The food is classic diner stuff, hotdogs, cheeseburgers, shakes etc. Service is friendly and fairly quick. The world needs more diners.
