Comments of Paul's Famous Hamburgers
D. O.
Simply irresistible, burgers were great, I had the hot chicken 🐔 burger and add on bacon, and even their normal chicken burger were as good .
their effort and their product had live up to their name, we cannot rate on the services as it was self serve, OH Yes. Remember to grab their pineapple crush.
The prices were fair and honest.
Great job guys.
A. M.
This well known, no-frills burger joint offers old fashioned burgers that taste satisfyingly good. Being no-frills, the burgers start with a simple sesame seed bun with beef (or chicken) patty, adds lettuce, onion and tomato sauce, and you can get different combinations of extras like bacon, egg and cheese in your burger. Prices are so-so for a no frills burger joint and it's cash only (although there's a generic ATM in store).
On top of the various burgers and fries, their drinks include pineapple crush which is refreshing and popular.
It's very popular with lines running outside the outlet almost all the time. This makes social distancing difficult and half the staff don't wear facemasks.
There's no indoor dining (which is used for queuing and ordering only), but there's some outdoor tables available.

Lives up to its name. A burger (we got the hamburger with pineapple) is larger than the sum of its simple ingredients. Live that the buns are regular burger buns and not squishy brioche. Serving size is standard. We shared one to two adults! The burger was balanced, not overtly heavy, filling and moreish. Be prepared with CASH! Do try the pineapple crush that comes in 2L/1L/glass options. Super refreshing after a day in the sun! Moderate wait time, the staff are super efficient, massive team forming a grill assembly line. Recommend sharing large serving of chicken salt chips!
S. L.
A bit of a lunch time line up but with the pre ordering in the queue makes it fairly efficient. Famous works burger with added beetroot - the patty is tasty and ingredients are just as they are. Note that they are cash only. Would eat again.
S. O.
This is the best burger I've ever. Yet the most simple. No wonder they're are world famous burgers. The simple combination of lettuce tomato cheese and a juicy patty with what I believe the best tomato sauce ever creates a delight in the mouth. I love the old school style milkshakes, the homemade pineapple juice and even the small touch of glass coke bottles. The service is amazing as a young 20 year old I have never got to witness a old school burger shop until now. I have recommended this to everyone in Sydney or who is going to Sydney
P. H.
Famous burger. Famous Paul. Paul burger. Burger Paul. Burger famous. Paul famous. If you're into any of those things, you'll really like the service here. Knowledgeable, quick and cash only. Very important offerings in the burger famous world. Probably even Paul famous.
M.
The burgers and chips were delicious! The burgers were quite small, so if you order, you might want to order side chips! 😊
This burger shop is always busy! There is always a massive queue! But the service is always quick!
The shop is situated right near the water front, you can sit there and just enjoy the view! 🥰
I did that last time I visited! However, due to lockdown, I ordered via Uber eats. It was a little soggy as the driver took a while to find my house.
But overall, the burgers were delicious & satisfying.
E. G.
These burgers were pretty tasty, with a nicely toasted bun, and the hot crispy fries were just right. I enjoyed the chocolate shake also.
M. V.
Been to Paul's for years and enjoyed the old days when there was a massive line up. They have an ATM inside but bring cash if you can it will save you time. Burgers are ok but not like the old days. The chips are pretty good and the sizes are on the wall next to the drinks when you get in, the large is quite good value for money. Many burger varieties to choose from and I suggest that you park near the water after you buy your food.
Parking can be very hard some times but a round the block cruise once or twice and there should be a free spot.
I do recommend this place to try out and bring them to a 5 star rating but right now I can't.
The service however was fantastic the staff there are very attentive and patient. 5 stars to the workers that work there you do a fantastic job.
See you guys soon for a update with pictures.
S. Q.
Old school burgers are hard to find. Paul's does it well. Have to ask for beetroot and cooked or uncooked onions. Customise to how you like. Deliciously Pauls
K. W.
Still making an awesome burger after all these years. Perhaps not what it once was? However, that being said, they do make an extremely well crafted hamburger. Wash your burger down with some freshly made Pineapple crush... mmm.
Cash only peeps but they do provide an ATM in-store.
K.
Best traditional burgers in Sydney. Nothing fancy just a straight forward beef burger, they also do grilled chicken.
They offer many customisation options and the whole team has a great eye for attention to detail. No wrong orders which I really appreciate as family members have mild allergies to raw onions.
The pineapple juice is great and so is the peanut butter milkshake.
Arrive early (opening time) as the line gets long really fast, but the team works fast.
Good prices, good food and fast services. Better than Maccas.
P.
What a popular burger joint!!! Queues running outside!!! But very efficient))) Great old school style burgers @ reasonablish price)))
E. C.
Most incredible burgers in Sydney that I have ever had. No competition in my opinion. Had first one about 10 years ago and added Paul's to my "must recommend" list. Now I am back in Sydney I will come in on my bday to savour once more this incredible burger!
I kid you not the flavour that remains with you after you eat one of these delicious burgers is pure heaven. 10 years on I am salivating at the prospect of eating another.
Not to mention the other accompanying sides and drinks that are excellent in there own right as well.
G. B.
Best Burgers and they've kept the price low. Other places would charge way more. You have to try the home made chilli. It is the best. On either the beef or chicken burger it's well worth it. But be warned it can be hot to those not accustomed to hot chilli. For those who are it could be hotter
P. R.
Passed this place and the queue on weekend made me want to eat here always. Now got an opportunity.
The burgers are very very juicy. Not an overstatement to say it's the best patty ever juice ness wise. Flavour wise I found it more bland, but maybe I should have chosen the correct sauce. More spicy !!
The milkshake in its classic looking cup is really yum.
Best part is the speed of delivery and price.... For the burger that you get, it's so so cheap.
J. L.
Paul’s Burgers is hands down one of the top 3 burgers in Sydney. My favourite is the chilli chicken with a slice of pineapple. The chips are always crunchy and made to perfection. Best of all is Paul’s pineapple juice which is also filled full of pineapple pulp!
N.
The numbers speak for themselves!
If you're going there for a vegan burger or a spicy curry burger or a sweet and sour patty. You're going to be disappointed.
This place for year on year has been rated to make the best, Most satisfying genuine aussie style burgers in NSW.
If this is what you're looking for, then you will be entirely satisfied.
The food here is aways clean, consistent and high quality! with prices that reflect exactly that.
G. N.
Travelled from Parramatta to taste these burgers. All I can say is Yummoo. Reminds me of the old school burger days with no brioche bs just a humble tasty burger. Staff were really nice and I just love how everything is made in front of you. Really yum highly recommend.
L. T.
Friendly service, able seating, preorder take whilst you're waiting in line during peak hour so you get your order ready and waiting when you get to the counter to pay. The burgers were juicy and packed right in there. The pineapple crush was fresh and tasty a well. Really enjoyed the simple food here. Pretty decent feed for 2 at just $30.60.
F. Y.
Have to probably say this is the best burger in the South Sydney area. Only reason it's missing 1 out of the 5 stars is, I had a few visits where they were really busy, and because of the line, by the time I got my burger, it was handed to me cold.
S. D.
When your looking for the best burger in Sydney, or even in Australia don't go anywhere but Pauls Famous Hamburgers. For over 20 years I have been going here the burgers are the biggest, the best, the tastiest and the freshest burgers you'll ever find. Had it for a cheatmeal it's best. The staff are the friendliest and most polite people. Thankyou for that delicious meal.
O.
There is a very good reason why this shop has been operating since 1957. Their hamburgers are excellent, a great meat pattie, full of quality filling & the buns are toasted too.
These burgers absolutely smash the big fast food burgers out of the park.
The lady who took the order was so lovely & friendly too.
Paul's, the ORIGINAL & BEST!
Pics are Burger with Egg & Burger with bacon.
I. P.
Every time I want to get a good big burger & chips, this is always my favorite local place to go. You want a good feed, best to go here, especially if you been out in the water all day.
B. L.
Decent burgers but not sure its quite worth the hype, the long line or the cash only headache.
K. H.
The hamburgers here never fail to hit the spot. The patties are juicy and the portions decent. The pulpy pineapple juice is superb and even though there's always a line, the wait time is never too long and there's always great service staff on hand to take your orders while you're in the line so that the process works like a well-run machine - a tasty, juicy well-run machine, that is!
Q. M.
Great burgers just the classic stuff, essential and the size is generous. The fries could be crispier and less salty tho. Service is quick, staff is nice. Definitely deserve its name (you'll understand when you'll come in 😏). Strongly recommended to take away and eat by the sea few metres below as the view is great (don't be afraid of the seagulls and don't feel them!)
m.
really tasty chips and i love the freshly squeezed pineapple juice as well. the burgers have decreased in quality the past few visits however it's a great place to stop over and have a lunch break
A.
Tried this place as recommended by a coworker. There wasn't plenty parking spaces available, we were lucky that we got one.
The line was quite long on Sunday afternoon. The staff takes order from the people while they are waiting in line which is good.
We ordered the Paul famous work and double cheese burger, got the food within 20mins which is still acceptable.
Burgers were decent and quite bland. No where near the best. I was hoping more since we traveled quite far away just to try the burgers. The price was inexpensive though. The pineapple crush was great we got the one litre one.
TLDR: Doesn't live up to the hype. Expect waiting time. Inexpensive price & cash only.
C. U.
Love the burgers!! Brings back old memories 15+ years ago (around 2005) with the proper burgers they made
N.
Best burgers in Sydney hands down if you haven't tried sold style burger then come to Paul's burgers. You won't be let down
l.
Good ol’ fashion Paul’s Burger is a local favourite and It doesn’t dissapoint. Add bacon on top of Paul’s special sauce with the Pinapple drinks will satisfy all of your hunger. Pity they only accept Cash only payment in this day and age.
A. 9.
Good old school burgers. I had the beef and egg burger and small chips with chicken salt. Definitely will be back.
N. M.
Good traditional Aussie burgers but I don't know what all the hype is about. It's not like you can't get similar burgers elsewhere.
S. I.
Paul's sell the best value burgers we have found. I always get the Special Burger with caramelised onions, beetroot and their home made chilli sauce, and these are free extras.
We go there every few weeks.
G. R.
This place is brilliant, from the service the way they put the burgers together and of course the taste! Awesome, had a chilli chicken burger with grilled onions.. highlight of my day. Def recommend..
B. Y.
You can never go wrong with Paul's famous burgers, both meat and chicken. Try their pineapple juice or milkshakes aswell. Their chips are always cooked to perfection!
S. R.
Can't fault the classic works burger. Always fresh, perfectly proportioned and super neat/intact! Don't forget to ask for beetroot (no extra cost) and skip the chicken burgers... At least the chilli chicken just tastes like Kraft Mayo rather than "chilli" sauce.
M. C.
Not what they used to be in the 80s-90s but still a decent burger shop and probably still one of the best "Aussie" burgers around. The fresh pineapple juice is highly recommended
J. J.
Close second place in terms of burger places in Sydney. They taste great. They're cheap and they make them fast
H. M.
Fast service, friendly staff, delicious old school milk bar style burgers, and thirst quenching and refreshing pineapple crushes!
But my ultimate fav thing about Paul's is their chips... If I feel like chips, this is my go to place. Not a single sogga, generously salted and jam packed with perfectly fried super crunchy golden taters.
K. S.
Old burger bar charm. Quick and easy. Food is fantastic.
D. K. &. E. i. S. A.
Bloody amazing 😍😋 Old school hamburger and chips 👌and the Nutella milkshake is insane 👍
M. L.
Great burgers, tasty and the perfect serving size. Be prepared to pay cash (there is an ATM inside though).
E. R.
Delicious!! The ultimate burger shop, just like your good classic corner shop. And it doesn’t end there, the chips, oh the chips. They are the most delicious chips you will ever l, ever eat. Sometimes we just get the chips! We also have to mention the special sauce, which comes on the burgers and also to dip your chips in, soooo good.
G. S.
Best traditional milk bar burgers anywhere! and their milkshakes are the best, my favourite is their cherryripe milkshake.
t. p.
Very nice traditional style hamburgers. Along with some hot chips, you have the perfect meal to sit under Tom Ugly's Bridge and enjoy. Orders are made promptly while you line up instore.
C. C.
The burgers are definitely good, large, and ungreasy but still full of flavour. The pineapple crush is a MUST
P. D.
Excellent traditional burgers. Been the same for 20 years. Only let down by the bread, it turns to mush.
G. A.
Fast service and nice burger but not that exceptionnal (took Paul' signature). Still the experience to eat in front of the sea under the bridge with the seabird staring you as if you were the Messi worth it.
K. N.
Amazing! Where can you get a perfect burger and fries for so cheap. They have a huge team running the store so the food is finished cooking by the time you've even paid. The only suggestion I would make is having a sink or wet wipes out because its going to be a messy affair.
O. Y.
Best burgers in town staff are fantastic, home made pineapple juice is way too good 🍍✌😀
J. N.
Good traditional aussie burger with the works (beetroot, fried egg and pineapple). I hear complaints that their chips are always undercooked but It was cooked perfectly for us for a Saturday lunch. Staff were friendly and service was quick. The pineapple crush was just okay, tasted just like canned pineapples.
A. P.
This place runs like a well oiled machine. The queues could be long but they keep it flowing like a river. Oh yeah great food.
L. C.
Traditional burgers 🍔, very Australian and yet reminds me of the burgers I used to eat in my Southamerican hometown.
J. T.
Exceptional burgers as usual. Been a while since I last Paul's burger and they never disappoint. Highly recommended!
G.
We're always lucky to avoiding a long queue. I love burgers with onions, egg, beetroots,...from here.
A bit of downside is too much white floured burger buns for me so next time I'll try their everythings in burger without buns option. 😘
D. A.
Use to be the best burgers, but last visit my burger had no seasoning and it just tasted bland.
R. G.
This place is super busy but they have adapted really well without compromising on the quality of their food. What a great burger joint!
d.
I recall visiting here in 2015 during one of my lunch breaks when I was working at Sutherland. My work colleague and I decided to check out Paul's Famous Hamburgers to see what all the hype was all about.
I ordered the Hawaiian burger and to my surprise it was the best Hamburger I've ever tasted.
Please ditch McDonalds and Hungry Jacks as you won't be disappointed with the burgers here as they are much larger than a Big Mac.
G. B.
Good burgers but 2 of the staff preparing food were not wearing face masks yesterday at 7 pm.
N. A.
I love Pauls Famous Hamburgers! I've been coming here for over 25 years and the quality has never changed! Perfect all the time!!
C. A.
Nice burgers, quite a wait on weekends..line out the door.
T. S.
Old school burgers are the prize here, they don't have fancy buns or special spices, but if you're looking for a classic Aussie burger this is as good as they come. Home made pineapple juice is a winner as well, also with the girlfriend.
T. C.
One of the rare places around town nowadays that serves old school burgers, akin to your milkbars of past eras. Ordering is super efficient as your order is taken while waiting in line and condiments that are normally considered extras are free (a nice bonus). Just a heads up that they only take cash, so be sure to come prepared.
B. M.
In my opinion the burgers are good however as they have been around for a while they don't seem to taste as nice as before not as much love and ingredients ie so light on the special sauce and salad now.
N. P.
This place is talked up so much! AND IT DAMN WELL DELIVERED! Amazing Burgers! I love the originality! Flavours are on point!
P.
Top burger shop. Best in sutherland shire and possibly Sydney! If you haven't had Paul's special sauce, try it next time - on the burger and grab a pot to have with your chips.
***Important to note - they take cash only*** there is an ATM on site but the fees are a bit steep!
S.
Cant go wrong with a classic burger. The chips were perfect. Burger was solid size, great flavor. Simple done right. Pineapple juice was refreshing and a perfect combo to go with the burger and chips. Highly recommend checking this place out for a good feed. Street parking is available, and there is some seating available, or head down to the waterfront and enjoy your meal there. Cash only, but there is an ATM inside Paul's.
L. R.
Hands down best classic hamburger in Sydney. They're not the on trend southern states variety but they're amazing. Just like your mum would cook at home... If she was a boss behind the grill!
S.
Best burger I have ever had in my life!!! Perfect ratio and execution. Absolutely delicious!!!
H. D.
Nice burger place to be next to water . Burger size so big .yummy
H. H.
Fantastic burgers and chips, with delicious sauces and seasoning. Gotta get a bottle of pineapple juice if you're with a group.
D. B.
Burger was brilliant, vibe was on point, staff were charming and chips were delicious.
D. P.
If you love the good old fashioned Aussie hamburger with all the trimmings, this is the place to go. Scrumptious milkshakes, delicious fresh pineapple juice, and the hot chips are fantastic. Went all the way from out west to pauls with a friend who'd been b4. Love the place and very popular and affordable with quick service considering the amount of customers. Do go and try the food you won't be disappointed!
G. N.
Best hamburgers in Sydney we attend here quite often and the experience is always great
J. S. J.
Inexpensive and decently priced burgers and fries! top version comes with pineapple.
Peanut butter shakes worth it!
C. M.
Friendly Service, tasty burger and chips were crispy and fresh.
X.
No.1 for a reason. Don't miss. Quick and friendly service . Juicy burgers and perfectly salted chips. Note : cash only but a convienent atm is in the store, parking may be difficult
M. B.
Didnt quite live up to the hype. Burger was nice, chips were nice. However was expecting more. Definitely a local favourite.
M. H.
Awesome burgers and chips at excelent prices. Great staff that make you feel welcome. Go try Paul's Famous Hamburgers. You will leave full and happy.
G. B.
Very busy , but , worth it ! Traditional proper burgers !
S. L.
They deserve the name and fame. Every time there was a line to order but they serve very quick. Best burgers I’ve have in Sydney, definitely worth the drive for those who are around Sydney or just those who are driving by.
C. M.
Great tasting burger & chips washed down with milk shake. Well worth a visit
C. S.
Great classic style burgers, served fast and hot!
E. F.
Great tasting traditional Aussie burgers. All the usual styles up to Paul's Famous Works Burger (which is a proper burger with the lot including pineapple). They even have beetroot, but alas no cucumber. They get quite busy but there's no fish, salads, or other distractions, so the staff really pump out those delicious burgers and chips.
A. Y.
My favorite burger. Not much pay n old school style .. patty is juicy n good texture..
A. K.
The burger was really juicy and fresh. I must admit everything was quite nice, except for the sauce. They really lack a unique sauce in their burgers to complement their nice burgers. It was only normal ketchup and mayo in it.
J. T.
This is how burgers should be. Made on the spot to order fast and tasty👌
J. P.
Ok, not worth the hype. Cash only as well, but how convenient got ATM in store. Ha
J. D. (.
Usually five stars without hesitation. This is not reflective of the Hamburger or the chips. It's about the pineapple drink. It tasted very watery. Having only purchased one a month ago the difference was noticeable. Are you watering it down???
R. C.
Tasty and fresh Aussie style burger. Paul's famous burgers certainly do a great job of living up to the popularity.
C. M.
When you crave a proper chip shop burger, this is the place you head to! Delicious, simple and perfect. Cash only though :/
j. p.
Always good food and fast service. Keep up the good work
A. N.
What a nice treat to enjoy a Paul's hamburger that are famous for inducing explosive diarrhoea!
M. T.
Always quick friendly service but most importantly is the burgers are tasty and all fresh ingredients and the chips are my favorite. If you can make room have a milkshake as so many to choose from
R. S.
The burger itself is pretty basic. You can vary your selection from lettuce tomato patty to a full Aussie style with egg, pineapple and beetroot. Basic burger aside its done remarkably well. Doesn't wane in quality and you get a good serve each time.
Crowds are a good sign too. The wait for food, even with a line out the door is actually substantially shorter than most other venues. They have plenty of staff in the kitchen and folks out in the queue taking orders in advance.
Good burger joint.
W. R.
Great food! It's amazing place with great food, extremely well organized with number of different choices. Nice, fresh and good! That's all what you need.
S. P.
Great service, great people and the food is sensational.
Burgers are enormous and full of taste.
Best tasting chips (ask for vinegar)
Service with a smile and the food is cooked in front of you and is ready in only a short wait.
Also love love love the pineapple juice
We are regulars.
A.
Always good, consistently. Love the chicken works and the peanut butter shake and the pineapple crush.
C. S.
Pretty much the ultimate corner shop burger place. Paul's has been around since 1957 so you won't find fancy, overpriced burgers here. What you will find is delicious, fresh burgers at a fair price. The staff were friendly and helpful, and they have a fantastic system of working through the orders efficiently even when they're super busy (I was there on a Saturday afternoon and the line was out the door). If your in the neighborhood and want a solid burger, definitely check this place out. Oh and the milkshakes are great too.
T. W.
Great burgers! Especially after spending the day in the Royal National Park, and on the way back to Sydney... Stop and get a burger on the way home
A. S.
Great/fast service. Burger are old school but fresh/hot and fantastic. Milkshakes are good too. Less one star for being cash only.
G. F.
great quailty food, very tasty, decent priced, highly recommend to go there!
Y. L.
😋. Deconstructed burger was very yum! And the normal burger is on a traditional bun.
The place is busy for a reason 😊
G. H.
Seating/Environment:
The place does not have a lot of seating, but there are nice areas around the place where you are able to enjoy your meal. A lot of people often take-away their food here.
Payment:
The place only accepts cash. There is an ATM machine in there where you can withdraw money but there is a withdrawal fee.
Staff:
Overall pretty nice and friendly.
Food:
The food comes out very quickly. I have been there many times and all the burgers there are pretty decent. The burgers are also filled to the brim with ingredients. The buns there are a bit too soft for my liking, I would personally like the buns to be a bit toasted but that is just personal preference. When eating the burgers, it can get a bit messy so be prepared.
The chips there are also very nice and crunchy. The serving portion is also very generous. However, sometimes the chips can a bit too overly salted.
They also have drinks such as milkshakes and their freshly made pineapple juice which is not too sour and are decently priced.
Overall:
I would highly recommend giving this place a try if you are around the area and are looking for something that is very decently priced, delicious and fast.
M. C.
Best. Burgers. Ever! Thanks Guys!
I Bought the works burger with secret sauce. So much flavour. Yummo. Chips too good. Added the chicken salt.
Service always friendly and super fast with completing your order.
D. R.
Great burgers and prices service was great. Chips average. Definitely recommend the burgers 🍔
L. T.
Still good but not as good as they once were.. The patty used to really melt in your mouth before now it seems a tad bit on the chewy side.. definitely some of the best burgers in Sydney though!
D. L.
Very juicy and tasty burgers. Also try the pineapple crush!
P. L.
Beautiful,,the endless queue speaks volumes
S. M.
I have been getting hamburgers from Pauls for 50 years...still the best in the shire. Their chips are great, the pineapple juice is unreal & their efficiency is unsurpassed. I have been recommending this place for 50 years... still do p
B. K.
Efficient service, works burger was good, but not better than any other good Greek run milk bar takeaway. Chips were ordinary. A lot of hype and the food does not justify the queues. I don't get it.
T. K.
Great, made fresh burgers, for a few $ more than a big Mac. 5/5 for tase and value!
D. S.
Best burger I've had in ages.
A. K.
They are Named correctly. Just had our first burger experience from Pauls. Easily the best burger I've ever had. The chips were amazing, i didn't think you could do much to differentiate one chip from another; but they have worked out how, so good. We have found our local burger joint!
R. N.
We drive past Paul's so often & always forget to stop. I'm glad we did because I absolutely loved the chips & it's such fast service. However, the burgers were tasty but just average. I do prefer many other burger places, but I will be back for delicious chips & great service. 🙂
I. B.
If there was 100 stars they get them all. Truly are the best hamburger joint in Australia. You want great food and service? You can't do better than Paul's!
G. Q.
Burgers are amazing. Defs worth the trip just for these. Fries are skin-on. I'm definitely a fan of the rustic yet classic style, high quality. Milkshakes are nice addition to complete the American diner-style combo but maybe give it a miss - could use a bit more flavour and texture on them. Takeaway only. Good establishment. If they had thickshakes with a bit more flavour and less milk, then I'd give this a 5 star review
A. P.
Been coming here since I was a kid and can confidently say this is the cleanest tasting burger/chips joint you will find in the region. Family owned with lovely staff. Always a pleasure dining here.
L. J.
Always has been the place for hamburgers and real milkshakes, don't know the secret to there seasoning but they are always juicy. Can hardly wait to go back after lockdown
K. M.
Generally a wait. Staff are friendly. Food is fantastic. Decently priced. But parking and accessibility is a nightmare.
I. R.
Absolutely amazingly delicious food! The burgers are great - It's not overly oily, the cooked food are cooked and the fresh food are fresh!
F. N. N.
Good but nothing like as good as the old Pauls of over 30 years ago
N. R.
It's not called famous for no reason. Remember the corner shop take away back in the early 90s. Remember those beautiful home made Salivating making Juicy delicious burgers they used to make and the ones you enjoyed as an 8 year old kid, well these guys take these burgers to a whole new level!! Always parking and always somewhere to sit AND there's always an atm inside. I LOVE THIS place.
P. K.
Still the best hamburgers created here!
P. C.
To be honest, pretty much every fish n chip shop in NZ would give you a burger that's just as good. If it was just the burgers I was rating, it'd be 3 stars. An extra star for the fries that are outstanding. I think this place rates so highly is because it reminds Aussies of the fare of yesteryear. Worth a visit, but not as wonderful as the locals would have you believe.
J. C.
Quality hasn't dropped over the years, still one of the better burgers out there. Cannot finish a works burger anymore but if you have a decent appetite it is one of the finer things in life. Wash it down with a pineapple crush homemade and chips with the right amount of chicken salt and special sauce. To top it off have it sitting on the edge of the sand and watch as you get surrounded by seagulls.
K. B. C.
Great Hamburger. Good fresh Food. Fast service and Friendly people.
n. b.
I had very high expectations upon arrival after lots of hype from friends.pauls is a clean place with the fastest service I have ever experienced at a Burger store, friendly efficient staff the burger was good I had the chilli chicken with cheese,it wasn't the best burger I have ever had but for$10 it presents great value for money. I will be back to try more from the menu
J. J.
Paul’s offers a great classic meal with friendly service! My family and I regularly attend Paul’s to get our old school burger fix. There are often queue out the door however the staff have the order process well organised. The burgers are consistently perfect. Would highly recommend for those passing through or people craving a good feed.
J. B.
Amazing hamburgers, no issue here. But being Cash Only in 2021 is beyond me, I get frustrated every time I come and realise I need to find an ATM.
d. d.
The service is amazing! They are pleasant & even made the effort to ask if I wanted Salt on my chips & Sauce on my burger. The Burger & Chips were so tasty! Could easily be the best I've had in the Shire. Well done!
h.
A good feed. Hit the spot.
A. T.
It's a great burger, there's always a long line but thanks to staff efficiency the wait time is comparable to other places.
Cards not accepted, cash only.
Wierdly they don't accept cards but are happy to install a full atm inside their shop.
A. G.
Amazing burgers and a great variety.Highly recommend it. Do carry cash with you as they donot accept cards. Otherwise there is a ATM machine in their shop but charges some surcharge for withdraw ok ng money.
J. V. K.
A local institution with real burgers made fast and fresh. A must go to once for everyone. Found the burgers to have a little too much sausage mince for me. Making them a touch rubbery
U. S.
This spot was on my list for some time now. The beef taste was completely overshadowed by the condiments, the bun disintegrated under the weight of what it held and the only thing I liked about the meal was the view of the sea. Maybe it just failed to live up to the pedestal I had put this place on after hearing rave reviews from newspapers and online reviewers but I am definitely disappointed.
M. R.
If you're after a hamburger and chips which are a throwback to your childhood, then this is the place to go!! Fresh, simple enough, well made and delicious! Great value for money too!
f. e.
Really great if you're looking for that old fashioned hamburger experience. The hot chips were perfect!
Will definitely go again
G. D.
Just those classic aussie milkbar burgers, bacon, egg and most importantly beetroot! Washed down with a lime shake! Or get a fancy nutella or peanut butter one. The line is long, but goes super fast and it's so.. so.. good!
S. W.
Cash only, I wonder why?.Tax avoidance?
The lady in front didn't have cash and ATM that will add to the cost with additional fees was not working, I left and she was still figuring out options.
Have been over the years and 10+ years ago were great, but now average at the best.
5 adults and all said nothing special.
Milkshakes are still great.
Burgers not worthy.
G. E.
They deserve there rating as famous, funny tucked away spot but great burgers at a great price.
Venue is cash only but it adds to the classic atmosphere.
E. H.
I ordered a special burger with pineapple and my friend ordered a classic burger with cheese. They serve these huge delicious burgers pretty quickly. As soon as we sat down the burgers and chips were served. We are pretty satisfied with the food and service 👍
M. -.
Hamburgers were okay. Not what I'd call "famous" (very overhyped) Chips were mediocre. Have had better burgers elsewhere. Customer service great. Recommend the pineapple crush and milkshakes.
C. G.
This gem of a place is set in a location that is often hard to reach and has limited parking available, but the queue is more often than not, reaching outside the doors of the restaurant. Their burgers are the definition of quality and the ambience has an authentic and quick paced vibe. There are places to sit and enjoy, burgers, milkshakes, amazing fries and freshly squeezed juices. Would definitely recommend if your interested in a hearty meal and a one of a kind experience. Must try at least once in your lifetime.
S.
A friend of mine took me as he loves their burgers and chips. I would have to agree the service was spot on and the wait time was reasonable even though there was a line out the door. The food was fresh and hot.
R. C.
Great food but a bit of a wait
K. L.
Paul's Famous Hamburgers has been an institution in the Sutherland Shire for over fifty years. There is a reason why this burger shop has been operating for so long, attracting visitors from all over the Sydney metropolitan region and beyond. They are famous for their milk bar style burger and what sets them apart is the incredible beef patty that they serve in their burgers. The recipe to the patty is a secret that has been kept and handed down through generations and kept secret for a good reason. Recommend the Paul's Special Burger with special sauce and a side of hot chips.
F. j.
Loads of people but the staff is so efficient. The burgers are full of fresh produce.
It's just back to basics, yummy food that hits the spot. Perfect.
Enjoy your burger and fries with friends by the water.
G. B.
Parking is a bit difficult but when we arrived the line was out the door. We were STUNNED by how quickly they moved people through the line and got our food. Great customer service and amazing burgers! Insider tip: maybe pick chips OR a milkshake, otherwise you might be hurting 😂 so good though!
A. D.
Best burger in Sydney. Tasty patty, efficient service and affordable price. I went for the Works with an extra patty which was a huge amount of food, but cost less than $15! Perfect chips - crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Would highly recommend - it's a Sydney staple!
A.
Huge, delicious, classic burgers at very reasonable price. The kind of joint you can't find anymore, a really classic mom and pop shop kind of feel. The service is insanely fast as there are so many staff. It's a close drive to the water so I love to get their burgers and eat by the river with my boyfriend.
B. H.
There is no better burger joint in town....THIS IS IT !!
B. L.
Huge, tasty burgers for a good price. Fries were great. Wanted to try the pineapple crush but they ran out of it which was a bit disappointing but the alternative milkshake was good too.
M. R.
I've been going to this place since childhood. It is one of the best burgers you'll have and they use the freshest ingredients. The chips are great too. A Sydney icon.
S. T.
Great and quick service, even with long cues, they pre take your order so by the time you get to counter to pay its ready. Delish burgers, great chips.
Accept cash only but has ATM in store
M. F.
Consistently the best. Fantastic pineapple crush in cups and bottles. Just generous tasty classic food. Why eat American burgers that cost heaps and are so disappointing. Here, the burger looks like the photo.
j.
These guys are insane! It feels like it is everything you could possibly fit in a burger for $10.80! It feels like a bargain. The food always tastes fresh and the patty is so juicy. Perfect Aussie burger. Love it!
E. K.
This was my first ever visit. Had the works beef burger. This is a traditional Aussie beef burger and comes with bacon, cheese, fried egg, beetroot, tomato and lettuce plus a slice of pineapple. Just sooo good.
S. B.
Legendary old-school burgers. Grab a pineapple crush too!
M. G.
Generic fish and chip shop style of burger, I got one with the lot, and chips. Food was ready very quickly, burger was nice, fresh and good value. Lots of chips. Would go there again.
J. M.
Unbelievable burgers. Well done guys you rock.
N. G.
The greatest old-school burgers. A must for any true burger connoisseur. I recommend a Paul's Famous Works with Beetroot
V. F.
It was fine, but nothing special. It was odd that the chips weren't salted - they included two sachets of salt instead - but you can't get the same taste with that as chips that have been tossed with salt.
E.
Amazing service, mouth-watering burgers – lives up to its’ name
Have been coming here for years and the most valuable thing this establishment has is consistency. Never had a bad experience – staff are quick to attend to you and the low lying front counter lets you watch your food being created as you stand there salivating! The burgers are not over-the-top. Great range of fillings and condiments. The thick cut chips are amazing smothered in chicken salt (in my opinion) topped with a flavoured shake or pineapple juice. Don’t forget the special dipping sauce for the chips. After all that I guarantee you that your stomach will be satisfied and your waist line doubled! Highly recommend.
R. O.
The best old school burgers in Sydney. Not only great burgers, but the best old school milkshakes and perfectly crispy fries.
I drive from north of Parramatta River to fulfil a Pauls Burgers craving.
j. R.
Best burgers and service, hands down.
G. Y.
Great burgers! Pineapple juice is very fresh. Cash only but the service is impeccable, very friendly and the food comes out quick!
S. T.
We had a burger from here recently and it was delicious. Had to line up to be served and the whole process from lining up and receiving our burgers was about 1/2 hour. I was told they were worth waiting for. We enjoyed them, they were tasty, but I've had better and I've had worse.
J.
The service here is spot on and the burgers are epic. The burgers are awesome but don’t walk in with hype expectations, they’re a good big burger. It does get really busy but that normally doesn’t affect wait time.
S. C.
The hamburgers at Paul's Famous Hamburgers are amazing. Juicy and tender and money well spent. They have won many awards which they definitely deserve. You can't go past a burger with the lot + Paul's special sauce!
R.
Great burgers, always fresh and tasty. Never had a bad experience with them in over 6 years. Been a happy customer every time
M. K.
Great burger in the old fish and chip shop style, which there seems to be fewer and fewer of these days.
Minus one star for missing the chicken salt on our chips and for not having tap n go.
Cash only (ATM inside) and I'd recommend one of the special burgers with special sauce.
C. L.
The patties are nice and juicy. The burger was a little to big to fit in my mouth, otherwise, it was spectacular. I also highly recommend their pineapple juice.
M. C.
If you are after a classic Aussie milk bar style burger, this is the place for you. If you are after an American style burger like just about every other nouveau burger joint in Sydney, avoid like the plague. The burgers themselves are tasty, but there seems to be a bit more romance about the place than actual substance. Probably famous back in the 80's, but not really worth the trip nowadays with the standard of burger available almost everywhere else.
D. H.
The team here operates so well
Everyone doing their bit. Good to see all staff enjoying and having a good time. The foods always excellent as well
J. M.
Awesome hamburgers with beetroot, the works burger. Getting a bit on the expensive side though.. $11.20 for a hamburger, tasted like a bit of sausage mince mixed in with the meat patty. Service was great as well.
N. W.
Came here every now and again and the only dissapointment we had is the fact that they only take cash. ATM is available just in front of the cashier but it charged a cost I'd rather spend on an extra beef patty. We love their Works burger with beetroot, special aioli and bbq sauce + chips with chicken salt, the burgers never disappoint. My wife also loves their home made chilli on her Works. Always a treat for everyone in the family. Non the less... their pineapple juice and Nutella milk shakes... yummm...
H. E. K.
I love coming to Paul's!
Firstly, the location is fabulous- you could grab a burger and walk down to the river bed under the bridge and catch beautiful sun rays!
...Now, about the food: the quality is incredible and so consistent! I mean...it is the best burger in Sydney! Every time we come, we know we're going to be receiving the finest quality meal and service to go with it!
There's a strong family vibe at Paul's, and it translates into the flavour, and the essence of every single meal! Today we even met the owner, and he so warmly spoke to us about home and family from overseas.
We look forward to coming again really soon!
R. G.
Hot chips are great. Old school flavour but not old school hand cut. The burgers are okay. It's just that Pattie is not old school. It's juiced up and no flavour. Old school burgers are supposed to have a thinner meat Pattie that's almost charcoal on its edges and is spiced to complement the whole burger. The current patty is almost slimey /slippery and too thick and also lacking the spices that old school stands for. I have had a better hamburger in Aussie bar in Phuket :(
S. K.
The service is fantastic - staff were all friendly and nice. Not sure if I got my hopes up too high but the burgers were just ok - not the best I've had in Sydney. Having said that the servings were definitely value for money. If you're in the area then it's a decent place for a bite but I wouldn't go out of my way to go there
J. H.
Good.. but far from the best.. a bit dry.. the patty lacks a bit of punch, they taste a bit pre-fabricated. The Lunchbox in Rockdale on West botany St are still hands down the best and I try all the hamburgers around Sydney..
P. G.
This place has been around since 1957, I used to go there when I was in my late teens. You needed to get there early when the doors were opening if not you would have to join a queue to place your order that would sometimes be out the door and past the next two shops.
The burgers and chips are still good but not as good as I remember when I was teen going there in the mid 80's.
They serve hamburgers with a choice of extras, chicken burgers, chips milkshakes, burger buns and pineapple juice.
J. M.
Went here on the weekend to catch up with the boys. Great old school style bugers. They arent gourmet burgers but neither are they priced that way. Nutella shakes was divine and the pineapple juice is worth a try. Can get busy during weeekends with not many car park spots.
j. l.
I love Paul's. Anytime we want to get take away Paul's is always our go to option. The location is amazing and it's great when you get a burger and sit on the tailgate of your car while looking at the beautiful water.
N. H.
One of the best burgers I have had in awhile...just like the traditional burgers we had growing up. This will become my regular burger craving shop...yum
M. K.
Really nice burgers, chips were a bit oily though
M.
Still the best burger in Sydney. If you believe a great burger ought to have egg, pineapple and beetroot with a classic sesame seed bun (instead of the too-sweet brioche buns every other burger place goes for), the Works burger here delivers.
J. A.
Had been meaning to go here for years. Great burgers and quick and friendly service. Surprised they do not accept cards but they have an independent ATM available.
A. T.
Famous for a reason - consistently delicious burgers, chips (with chicken salt!) and chunky pineapple juice! Speedy service and just a short walk to the Sylvania marina for a nice view with your meal. Beware of the seagulls though. Cash only but there's an ATM inside.
T. T.
Absolutely delicious wow crazy burgers.. too good BTW the crowds on night watch out their busy..
P. S. K.
Amazing burgers!! Best pineapple crush ever!! Its cash only. They do have an ATM machine on site. Quick and friendly service 👌👌
S. K.
Awesome, delicious burgers and chips. You have to try their pineapple crush - one of the best I've ever had. Just note that they only accept cash (they do have an ATM though).
p. t.
I love this place because they have friendly service and great value of money for the awesome quality of burgers you buy. The shop have an atm as well and a must to try fresh squeeze pineapple juices available in a cup,1 litre or 2 for take a way or enjoy there.
Actually you can park and enjoy your delicious burger next to the sea with the companion of a variety of seagulls species and if you are lucky you can meet a pelecan as well 🌅😉
T.
You know that pivotal scene in Ratatouille where the food critic takes a bite of the main dish and it transports him back to his childhood days? The burgers at Paul's remind me exactly of that scene. An old school tuckshop style burger with a generous meat patty on a toasted sesame seed bun. The simple things in life are often the best.
R. S.
Yep, always good for a takeaway burger. Staff manage queues very well. Seating can be limited in busy periods - walk down underneath Tom uglys bridge and eat in the park. Cash only is a bit of a shame. I have driven past more often than not as I've had no cash in my wallet and I refuse to pay $2.50 to use their ATM
S. d. N.
Great food. Always taste great. The ingredients are always fresh as the turnover is huge.
You must try the milkshakes. They still make them like I remember them from when I was young.
This place is an institution. You must also try the home mafe chilli sauce.
L.
New owners would explain the drop in burger quality. Definitely not as tasty as it once was. It was often worth the 1hr trip and now .. not so much
S. S.
A huge burger for $8, workers burger filled with everything you like. I ate there around 2pm and at 7pm I still wasn't hungry.
Someone suggested that place, if he doesn't tell me I would've pass it because it's nothing special from outside. 😄
If you around its worth a try!
N. T.
Fairly familiar with Paul's Burger's, everything about the burger (hamburger and cheese) but the pattie was a let down. Used to having nice mince and this one looked and tasted like a pre-made/frozen one. Not sure if this was just what they were making today but the taste was off and too seasoned
D. C.
The name says it all. Paul's definitely delivers in terms of its cost-size ratio. However, not everyone enjoys their pineapple on burger so just watch out for that if you're not a fan. Otherwise, the chips and burgers (and self-squeezed pineapple juice) will have you drizzling for more!
E. V.
Not bad if Aussie burgers are your thing.
M. K.
Burgers are just fantastic, every burger i've ever got was just right, and the attention to quality really sets you guys apart!
Though make sure you have cash because they don't accept any modern forms of payment, and the ATM wanted a $5 surcharge on my Citi card :(
S. P.
The burgers are ok, but Ive often had better.
Ive heard so many awesome things about this place and have been brought here by numerous people. Every time I feel like I feel like I could have allocated the calories to nicer food.
A. H.
Great food, speed & quality of service. Dropping a star for lack of EFTPOS - it's literally $60 from Officeworks to get a Square reader. Old ladies are using EFTPOS at their craft market stalls - why can't a successful burger joint use it too?
C. M.
Really great burgers and they are really big too. I made the error to get also the chips and I wasn't able to finish both. To try if you are close. The pace is very spartan and not really nice but the burger is another level.
M. S.
The best old-style burger place in Sydney, and at a decent price. For all you low-carbers, they will put the burger (sans-bun) into a container instead of a bun.
Good chips too, but don't ask for extra extra chicken salt on them 'cause they will give you a tonne!
A. P.
Definitely had better gournet burgers elsewhere. Fish and chip shop level burgers. Not sure what the hype was about but their cash only business seems to be doing OK.
L. T.
I ordered the hamburger with pinapple and beetroot. It was so delicious, and the burger was really big. Love it!
J. C.
Great consistent burgers, always feel good after a Paul's hamburger. High quality and fresh. If you're looking for an amazing Aussie burger... You won't be disappointed
M. H.
Best ordering system for a busy place. However, burgers are average definitely not like they used to be but are still good. Love the pineapple juice.
S. H.
This is quality fast food. No gimmicks, no fancy buns or ingredients - just fresh, delicious and big Aussie burgers done right. If you've never had a Paul's burger, you're missing out.
T. W.
Yummy Burgers... If you want a timeless retro burger made the "proper" way.. look no further. Nice chips too!! Friendly staff 😊
S. Y.
Just like always, long queue juice burger fresh ingredients and best of all, the chips fried with beef grease.fully recommended and better with a bit extra salt and pepper
B. P.
Good old fashioned fish and chip shop style burgers
D. N.
Paul's burgers is always awesome and their peanut butter thickshake is amazing!!! Their food is always delicious and fresh. Cash only though but there is a cash machine (the world's slowest) on site if you forget.
А. С.
Cash only, it's unacceptable in 2021, there's an ATM which charges $5 per withdrawal, burgers are normal but nothing special.
S. R.
Hands down the best burgers I have ever had. It’s hard not to stop and get one every time I drive past
A. C.
The burgers are better than any I've had in Sydney. They're so tasteful, and not at all bland. Go out of my way to get to Sylvania every other weekend!
A. P.
Best burgers ever 😋! Consistently delicious and staff are always happy and friendly. Highly recommended ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
A. D.
The burgers are better than Hungry Jack's. The best burger in town and made at lightning speed. The meat pattie is tender and juicy.
I have no negative feedback except that 1 is not enough sometimes.
Thank you Pauls Burgers!!!!
A. C.
LOVE THIS PLACE!
Wish it was open on Mondays and Tuesdays aswell :)
D. L.
Move over mainstream burgers! We're talking about the real deal here. Paul's Famous Hamburgers, as it names implies, is the go-to burger joint for your burger bravados out there. Grab their signature burger, Paul's Hamburger with The Lot, a generous beef patty (chicken if you're keen also), throw in an egg, pineapple, bacon, cheese, tomato, onion, lettuce, choose your sauce (BBQ + Paul's sauce!), and hold it within two sesame seed buns and you got yourself a winning burger in your hands. While you're at it add a generous dose of chips (don't hold back on the chicken salt), grab a pineapple crush, and then make your way down to the near by jetty or just sit outside and enjoy your burger in front of all those jealous motorists driving past.
D. N.
Burger was DELicious! Not over priced either. Definitely worth the trip to try it out.
Great atmosphere, 2 mins walk away from a great little beachy area to sit down and enjoy
Will definitely be added to my food calendar! (yes I have one of those)
k. p.
Phenomenal burger, perfectly balanced, got the works and each bite had the right amount of everything + an accent of one ingredient. Massive and it didn't fall apart. They know how to make a burger!!!
T. G.
Consistent home-made burgers. Multiple items per order are routinely mixed up, but if you're hungry enough you won't be disappointed by whatever you get instead. The house pineapple crush is reminiscent of crushed canned pineapple that's still refreshing.
A. R.
Very efficient service/preparation! Friendly and happy staff! Tasty, traditional burgers. But, needs to accept eftpos payments...
D. R.
The best tasting burgers in sydney. Eat bite is awesome
J. J.
Great burgers and friendly staff! Deluxe with cheese was brilliant however no eftpos or card accepted! Overall wonderful experience.
C. G.
The food was good, but they didn't accept credit cards. Cash only. They have an ATM, but if you want to pay with your phone it's a real problem.
R. D.
Absolutely fabulous! The burgers were delicious, the service was both unique & fantastic and Paul was so accommodating and put the heaters on for us.
J. A. M.
The best hamburgers ever especially The Works Burger 🍔
D. d. M.
There is a good reason this place has been open for decades....
I had a brief chat with Paul whilst waiting for my order and felt very grateful for the dialogue as I reflect on it now , it is a great reminder that "The Best" is not expensive, 'gourmet' or over advertised.
"The Best" is consistent, considerate, grounded, humble and real.
N. B.
This is a great place for a quick bite. The hamburgers are reminiscent of the old school Greek take away shops we grew up with. The patties are tasty and juicy. The salad fresh and crisp and the chips are such a crowd pleaser. Wrapped in butchers' paper like when I was a kid. You must visit Paul's when you're in the Shire.
J. S.
Damn good honest old fashioned burgers...
A. d.
Been going here since I was a child. Once they stopped making their own patties the burger's became flavorless despite their abundance of ingredients.
The chips however, that's a different story and the only reason I'll buy anything from this shop anymore.
A. S.
Classic amazing burgers and great service. We are outside and Paul came up to us himself and asked how the meal was! It was a great touch to an already amazing meal.
C. C.
Great burgers bring cash
P. S.
After driving by this place many times we finally decided that we had to stop and see what all the hype was about. Tried both The Works burger with special sauce and the Vegetarian burger. The Works burger, or their 'signature' burger, was good. If I wanted to show a foreigner a good Australian Style burger this is probably where I would take them. The Vegetarian burger however, which is apparently a limited time offer, was a mess. The patty was mostly just mush and tasted like the grill they cooked it on. The fact that they don't accept EFTPOS at the til but conveniently have an ATM in the queue charging you $2.50 to withdraw your cash just seems ridiculous and is a thinly veiled attempt at squeezing a little extra money outta their patrons. Why? Is it a tax thing? Just get an EFTPOS machine and tack on a $0.50 fee for transactions under $20, it's 2015 guys.
m. r.
Love this place, it gets busy but it is worth the small wait. I also really respect that they run an efficient operation and can get through long lines quickly. The burgers are delicious and very old school!
J. P.
One of the best burgers you'll have in sydney. Definitely a tasty patty and tasty fries, with quick service and friendly staff. Pricing is affordable and the view that comes with it seals the package. Definite visit!
D. F.
Burgers were good but chips were very undercooked. You'd think they'd get it right after 52 years! I'd give them only average value for the price.
S. K.
2 nd best service i have got so far. And definitely the food is amazing. As i had the hamburger what was perfectly cooked and amount of sauce and salads were exact waht it shoud be. Sure i will be back ..
I. D.
Great burger n chips
J. S.
Delicious burgers with a fast service. Great take away or eat out front place. Good big juicy patties just like an old school hamburger but beetroot is an add on.
G. H.
Iconic experience, very highly rated generally, I don't really eat burgers but I do love the egg and bacon rolls. The milkshakes are also nice.
P. S.
Driven past this place on the highway a million times since I was little and never ate here despite the hype. Now that I ate for the first time I know own why it's so popular. Best burgers ever!!
B.
The burgers have been a staple in Sydney for the last few decades though the recent burger explosion in Sydney has relegated them to the bottom of the pile. While they are tasty in and of themselves and the prices are reasonable, and the atrocious parking really detracts from the spectacle.
D. L.
Best traditional burgers in Sydney, extremely well-priced as well. Make sure you get chips with chicken salt and their fresh pineapple juice when you go!
S. L.
Tasty classic burgers with fresh ingredients. However, the shop doesn’t take EFTPOS to force you to use the ATM in store which they obviously make money from. It’s 2017 please get an EFTPOS machine.
1.
I can't remember the last time I had a better hamburger, if ever. I have tried burgers in many countries around the world and I'd say these burgers are hard to beat.
E.
This is the best place to go and eat hamburgers!! The food is so delicious and it is also very cheap. It's also close to the beach in sylvania and you can get your food and go down there to have lunch. Paul's famous hamburgers is one of the highest rated fast food shops and it definately doesn't disappoint. 🤤
🍔🍟
R. F.
Been there a few times now. Best hamburger I've had each time, chips are nice and they're quick too.
A. g.
Hands down the best burgers in Sydney and right on the water dont waist another minute go straight to pauls and i guarantee u will not be disappointed
G. N.
Amazing burgers. Good sevice. Never get tired of this place....
A. M.
They've won awards for a reason... because they do simple burgers really really well. Celebrities are shown all over the wall eating at these great burgers. You need to try a milk shake too
A. P. N.
Great burger and the best of the best fresh pineapple juice. One of my good burger place and surely recommend pineapple lovers to have juice as well
W. B.
Best burgers in Sydney
L. S.
Forget any other hamburger you had in your life. This IS the best hamburger ever! Can't wait to go back. I also wish I had two stomachs just to eat more.
E. B.
Great burger joint. Burgers are massive reasonably priced and very yummy!
J. B.
Great, basic burgers. Good chips too... remember it's cash only!
S. K.
Good, old school burgers. Tomato, lettuce, beetroot and sauce part of the deal. Don't expect prime beef but I always visit when in Hurstville.
B. M.
Amazingly fast service worth watching. Food: good, tasty and good/big size. Friendly staff. Not many tables to sit outside and hard to find parking.
A. C.
The staff are incredibly polite and willing to have a laugh, they also produced some fantastic burgers and chips.
Highlight:
The famous " Pineapple Crush" always lives up to expectations and is the best pineapple juice I've had.
L. w.
Been coming here for like 30 years and they are always, always. Bloody great.
They don't have heap of menu options, but what they do, they do perfectly.
L. M.
Best burgers and chips we've ever had. Travlled from the blue mountains just to get our fix. Nutella milkshake went down well too
N.
Indescribable.. must go there on an empty stomach ..
Enjoy a traditional Australian burger . The end product is the sum of all the wholesome hand selected quality ingredients.
I'm preparing my next visit as I type.
T. C.
Delicious and super fast service. Famous for a reason.
D. M.
I didn't see Paul. I don't think he works here any more. I'm not sure why he's famous.
At least the burgers are good, and you can get beetroot.
M. G.
The best Burgers ever
G. B.
My Experiences at Paul’s Hamburgers are
*The best Service you will ever find
*I like there Hamburgers but try their Chicken Burgers and their Milk Shakes
*The Prices are very Reasonable
*The Store and the Staff are spotless, and Friendly
I will go out of my way to going to go to their shop
Thanks so much for the great Products.
B. Y.
The pineapple juice is amazing! Also, the burgers are great and their a big hefty size. Chips are nothing special but loaded with awesome chicken salt
P. H.
Cant believe some people are giving Paul's less than five stars. No burger joint beats this place in Sydney ! I always get the chilli chicken with their chips and their amazing special sauce , never dissapoints.
H. E.
By far one of the best burger places I've been to. Great food all round. Would definitely recommend!

Whether you're after a Sunday arvo splurge or a quick fix throughout the week, there's no need to go past Paul's Famous Hamburgers. I love burgers and I was blown away at what I was eating, a burger on another level.
Close to the main road and beautiful waters. Some street parking available
A. V.
It was the best!! definitely going again, long line but quick service and they only take cash no eftpos
J. B.
Awesome tasty juicy burgers and very affordable prices too, only negative is the shop is in need of a coat of some fresh paint, if you visiting parking can be tricky so be prepared but you won't be disappointed once you taste them.
a. z.
I wish Google had 100 stars ! This place well deserved a million stars ! Never a disappointment in my 20 years coming here !
C. Z.
It's really famous and have a great variety of burgers. Very satisfied with their chicken and beef works burger. Their home made pineapple juice is refreshing.

Good burgers (not fancy) and fresh, but simply no worth the huge line
W. W.
Famous for burgers.
They're ok. Really about Old school burgers. Consistent and nice. Very efficient at taking orders, so good option if driving through.
J. H.
Great Aussie hamburger!

One of the Shire's gems. The rustic, classic burgers are mouth-watering. Service is well organised and quick.
A.
Nice but you people haven't tried Shane's hamburgers. Mine are by far better! No lie!! These are good but they got nothing on me. Overrated!!
R. M.
Paul's famous burgers are very large you'll need a knife and fork to eat it with. Good chips.
R. M.
Delicious Burger! Very fast service. Cash only though
S. B.
Burgers are amazing. Fresh and delicious, made like a fish-and-chip-shop-burger from the 80's.
Cash only, but there is an ATM
P. I. T. P.
Awesome natural, full flavoured burgers served with old school milkshakes (banana and lime flavour too).
T. S.
Delicious, old fashioned hamburger. I had the works without egg, and the pineapple crunch was fantastic. Whenever I'm back in the Shire, I'm eating here. Nowhere else.
S. S.
Great hamburgers. Easy to order exactly as you want. The queue can be long, but they take orders down the line, so it moves quickly.
R. X.
Great friendly and efficient service burgers are ok,the beef patty seems to me to be factory made,,no flavour what so ever, this needs to change before I will return.
A. K.
Yummy burgers 🍔 thank you
P. R.
Really yummy burgers in great price. Fries comes in good quantity. Must try spicy chicken burger.
J. M.
Great Australian style burgers. For me, the chicken with the works, hot chilli and special sauce is the best. The Nutella milkshakes are good too.
L. M.
Always quick and efficient service followed by delicious hamburgers. Highly recommended Paul's special sauce with home made chilli. Also the coffee milkshakes.
A. T.
Revered across Sydney as one of the best burger joints in town, famous for a reason and the regular queues out the door can attest to that (but don't worry, they have an army of burger flippers in there!)
G. R.
One of the best burgers I have had so far great moderation for a good price and excellent chips
It is a must to come
N. V.
Service and food were on point.

L. F.
Hands down the Best burgers with special sauce, best hot chips with chicken salt & a fresh pineapple crush. Always worth queuing for.

Great burgers, great price, in and out quickly even with them being busy.
Parking is a little hard but I guess that comes with the territory when you make amazing burgers!
T. A.
If you loved the burgers and milkshakes of the 80's corner shop growing up then this is the place.
N. H.
I dont know why, but these burgers are simply the best. Just good ol' Aussie take out shop burgers but done well!
You cant past Paul's without trying one! 5/5!!
P. H.
Great taste always. Takes me back to the way burgers should be made. Great staff, friendly and great value for the quality
S. S.
Been going here for 40 years , it used to be just a hole in the wall , but has since changed hands probably 15 years ago , they are good consistent burgers , good people who own the store .👍
A. W.
Absolutely delicious. Perfect, dripping, juicy burger & crisp, crunchy fries. Best burger around.😍

Claims to be the best burger place in Sydney. Arguably lives up the hype! The burgers are very much Aussie style

A refreshing change from the hipster brioche american wanna be burgers you get everywhere else. An amazing burger with quality ingredients cooked perfectly Everytime.
C. Z.
Delicious burgers at very reasonable prices. Fast service and friendly staff.
J. H.
This pace is an institution. Brilliant burgers that take you back 20 odd years to when burgers tasted like they should. I love coming here
d. r.
You can never go wrong here. Simple not over the top burgers.
Want to enjoy it more? Get a pineapple juice and eat at the boat rampe
T. E.
Fast and friendly service, always a great feed and reasonably priced, great family run resteraunt. Cheeseburger with Pauls sauce and bit of their homemade chilli is my favourite!
A. B.
Delicious burger and a good price. Chips were also great. Go for the special sauce!
K. S.
Good old fashioned traditional burgers. Tasty, light, amazing.
P. E.
Great traditional Aussie burgers. Service is quick, prices are decent, burgers taste good. What more can you want.
A. C.
Good home style burger but nothing really exciting, if you want something simple definitely try it otherwise your better off going to archies
L. K.
I'm normally a chicken burger fan, but the hamburgers here, melt in ur mouth ! Fantastic, delicious
A. T.
Not a bad place to stop on the way down the coast! Amazing burgers and that pineapple juice is to do die for👌🏽 Definitely worth the lineup
G. B.
Nice burgers and good sizes. Not as brilliant as Burger Project though. Have it as take-away and join the water views around the corner.
S. K.
Awesome, great service, great burgers!!!
Family run burger bar with friendly staff and great tasting burgers.

m. T.
Been going here for more years than I'd be willing to admit and still love it.
They're so well organized, I'm mesmerized just watching the way they work so well as a team. Absolute machines!
E. L.
This is one of my favorite old style hamburger places. Not like the new trend American style full of cheese. Genuine Aussie hamburgers.
M. R.
Great burger. Queue might seem long at times, however the staffs are super efficient so you will not have to wait too long
S. W.
Awesome burgers, crunchy chips, great classic milkshakes.
J. W.
What a great burger. Give it a go if you haven't already.
L. P.
Buy far the biggest burger around, but not the best. They put too much sausage mince in there burger, they need a beefier option.
Y. M. S.
If you are very hungry, it is a killer. Best bang for your buck. What it lacks in refinement, it compensates in sheer size. Love it. but only takes cash.
S. 2.
I have always heard and been told they're the best, now I know they are!
The best and freshest burgers ever!
K. T.
Best burger and chips, I've had
S. C.
Coming from the north we stopped into Paul’s. Was absolutely amazing. In fact. Paul was out the front cleaning the tables and talking to customers. What a true family run business.
a. m.
Nice clean premises. Burgers are good value for money BUT bring cash. They do not offer EFTPOS
M. M.
Paul's is a staple in the area. Quick service, consistently good burgers and fries and the best Pinapple Juice Jugs ever.
T.
Best burgers ever! And the special sauce is amazing. .. I always buy a small tub of sauce to dip the chips in :P
