If you're looking for a cool place to take a friend special or otherwise Soul Burger Newton is the go. Burgers are worth the hype and overall it's just a good experience. We tried the Cheese Please and Chilly Beef burger and they were cooked to perfection, Patty was juicy and bun was soft. Looking forward to my next visit to Newtown to try the other stuff on their menu.

Top recommend this burger place. It suits all people, vegan and non-vegan. I have tasted Just Chicken Burger in store and take away Beef Burger. Vegan chicken is the best vegan chicken I had so far. It consists of a very crispy chicken skin. The vegan-chicken meat is made just like original chicken texture, tender, soft while solid. Big tick. Vegan-burger bread are baked in the right time to serve, you could feel all the ingredient are the correct portion. All burger salads are fresh and crunchy, great experience to have them in store. Suggest to sprinkle very tiny amount of salt when making the vegan chicken meat, then it will be a perfect piece. Vegan-beef meat are made exactly like beef, solid, beef tendering, and little greasy. It tasted way better than real beef burger when you put vegan beef, lettuce, and other burger salads together. Great work. For those Allium Free religious, you may ask them to replace the sauce with tomato sauce on Just chicken, Just Beef or similar, take off the onion. The tastes are more vegan without the onion. Hope later on Soul Burger will remove the onion, garlic and other allium from the burger sauce, to suits more vegan people. Special thanks to the staff who took out sweetness from the chocolate mint milk shake. It feels better as the standard sweetness ruins the chocolate and mint feeling.

I always use their app as it sends me $10 every month, which is such a good deal + I accumulate points which can be spent on more food (or accessories) later. The CHEESE PLEASE is a cracker! Still one of the best vegan burgers I’ve had. Their milkshakes are really heavy, but tasty, I’d suggest sharing rather than having one to yourself. Soul B fries are so tasty with the b(f)acon bits!

I honestly didn't know Soul Burger only selling vegetarian burger, it's looking fancy and have better review than Big Daddy's Burger, so I'm going in. I ordered Cheese Please as recommended by the waiter, and the taste was so good. It's kinda different than beef patty, but as delicious as high quality beef patty. My first ever vegan beef burger, with the wings and delicious herbed fries! I was a bit unsure at first with plant based meat but pleasantly surprised about how delicious the meals were! The place itself was gorgeous, very Newtown! Only complaint could be the service for ordering, either a language barrier or staff unsure of the menu items, either way the food made up for it in style!

Why eat dead animals when for the same price you can eat delicious food and not really even taste any difference? Burger, chips, shakes - all taste great. Good and friendly service and a cool room out the back and toilets make it a great place to stop for a quick lunch or dinner.

I'm not vegan myself, but wanted to give this place a go. I got a Cheese Please ($12.5) which wasn't too bad, the cheese was a nice consistency and I enjoyed the flavour. The patty however, was pretty dry and crispy. The fries ($6) were very cripsy, I enjoyed the seasoning. They really stand by their vegan values, I ordered a mango and orange Schweppes but they said that they don't serve it anymore because it wasn't vegan.

I love the soulburger places. I've tried already a fair bit from the menu and enjoyed every bite. Great food and very reasonable prices! And besides the delicious food (I'm sure also meateaters will enjoy the beyond burger and the hotdog) I have to mention the kind and very friendly team working there as well. It is amazing to hear that eveyrthing here is vegan! Not sure how healthy/natural the patties are but definitely recommend, delicious :) Surprisingly delicous burgers! We had the Souther Fried chicken (crispy "chicken!"), Truffle Beef (highly recommend though I wish there was more truffle. I couldn't taste the truffle mayo). Herbed fries and the loaded fries eith cheese and fake bacon. They were amazing! I wouldn't recommend the tangy fries, they got old halfway through? Would have loved it if they had a ruffle mayo option as a dip. Jalapenos wete a good add on! Sadly we were so hungry I forgot to take photos.

Decent burgers, good value. Happy to see plant based menus spreading. The kitchen was a bit dirty, I spent half an hour staring at a soiled dish cloth on the floor with every staff member ignoring it. Someone was eating at the fryer. The server just dumped my food and left without a word. Probably would’ve bought chips if it had been suggested at the counter. No major issues but no one really seemed to care - you can’t tell in a bar but you can tell in a very open well lit kitchen area. The playlist sucks too. 4* for concept but not a well oiled or refined product by any measure.

They try to be attentive but the 3 people working in there where so stress dealing with costumer and delivery. Have loved Soul Burger for a while but had a really disappointing, frustrating experience on Monday and still yet to hear back after messaging privately. I made an order for delivery on the app and received the text saying that my order was cancelled. That's fine! It happens. So then I made another order at another restaurant through Deliveroo for my partner and I as we were pretty hungry and wanted to get dinner sorted. Then 15min later I get a text saying that my initial order is on the way.. If you're going to send a text saying that an order has been cancelled and then continue to make the meal, it would be pretty good to let the customer know that it was a mistake and the order is still coming, right? Ended up spending close to $90 on dinner when it wasn't necessary. The food was still great so that's a redeeming feature. But improvement is definitely needed on your app and communication. I completely understand the reason for using your app but won't be ordering through the app again.

The latest gourmet fast food kid on the Newtown block since the Sydney CBD lockouts looks better than most. The food isnt cheap, but a burger alone is enough to be a light meal and it has a broad menu catering to most people. The customer service is good and you wont find staff standing around bored when they dont have customers to attend to.

I’ve had the southern fried chicken burger twice and I can’t convince myself to try something different bc ITS THAT GOOD!! Also had the cheesy bacon Fries- you know when you’re super full but you keep eating because somethings just so good? These fries are like that. Amazing. The interior is very very pretty - and the staff were lovely! We had the chilli duck burger with extra beef brisket and both were incredible. I went with a non-vegan friend and they enjoyed it so much they finished the entire thing in a few minutes.

Soul Burger is excellent! I'm a big fan of both the Newtown and Glebe stores, because I used to live near the former and work near the latter. Unfortunately they're now both a little out of the way nowadays, but I'm still in the delivery area for Newtown, thank goodness! These guys are legends every time. Ordered from their new delivery app (which has some usability issues but it's early days and they say updates are on the way). Food comes fast and well packaged. Love the boxes that make sure the chips aren't soggy. We got a discount for first time downloading the app and they threw in some Pana chocolates as well 😍 great variety but I always go for the beyond burgers. Not a negative thing to say.

Overall much better experience than my first time. Previous review: It's not that is not good... It's just not great. I went with a group of friends who are trying to eat more plant based food and was looking forward to a burger and fries. Burgers were ok, a bit small and too oily for our taste. Fries were bad to be honest. We tried all types and they were just covered in salt and again too oily. Staff (contrary to some other reviews) were nice, friendly and chatty. Again, its not bad .. just not great.

These guys are unreal. I was coming up from Melbourne and our plane was delayed by 3 hours. When we finally arrived in Newtown, late that night, we wen't straight to Soul Burger. I’m not a vegan, but I enjoy a meat free meal from time to time. Soul Burger is okay. I had the southern fried “chicken” burger. As a plant based meat substitute it had good flavour, but not the texture that you expect when eating a burger. I also had sweet potato fries - no complaints there. The thing I have found with all vegan places I’ve tried is that they seem to use a lot of salt! If you’re in Newtown and looking to try some vegan food, Lord of the Fries is just across the road and is the better option in my opinion.

The cheese burger I had was really tasty. I love the selection of different buns, and no meat patties. Really like the menu! The patty seemed to fall apart though, and the end of the burger it was all mashed up and falling out of my hands. But the flavour was spot on! The service was ok. Great vegan restaurant that’s very reasonably priced. Staff are lovely and kind and often allow for you to bring your own containers to minimise waste which is incredible and in line with the vegan ethics. Highly recommend the BBQ Beef burger and the HSP- there’s not a week that goes by that i don’t dream about them. Only slight downside is that the quality of the food fluctuates a fair amount, sometimes it’s absolutely incredible other times it’s just good but still would still recommend.

The best burgers in Sydney. Great to see Soul Burger has a home in Newtown, with open kitchen layout and a large seating area making it easy to get a table. Staff are friendly and the vegan burgers are to write home about, the cheeseburger or BBQ bacon are my favourites. Don't go past the coconut shakes or Soul B fries either, they really round out an enjoyable dining experience. Look to Soul Burger for first class vegan comfort food.

Ordered through uber eats and the burger tasted really healthy. I didn't get that sloppy crash after eating a meat burger like I usually do. I also liked the vanilla milkshake, you can really taste the nutmeg which was a nice touch. Bbq wings weren't my favourite but still pretty good for being vegetables.

When taking price into consideration. This place is disappointing. The first time I tried to try them they where out of Gluten free rolls (early on a Friday night). The rolls (non gluten free) were dry and broke apart ruining the "burger" experience. The special instructions (extra pineapple and cheese) were ignored. The "cheese sauce is cold and has the look of caulk (literally like Sellies no gap) and taste and texture of roux with no favouring. The "beef" patties on the other hand had great texture and taste, and all the other fillings were well combined. The "bacon" on the Soul B Fries was surprisingly good (But not bacon) but over all I'd give them a miss next time. Hubby wants to come back but maybe we will try a different store.

Any other burger joint I would have given three stars, but as a non-vegetarian, I have to remember that the burgers have no meat!! 😅 I had the spicy beef burger, with a shared side of sweet potato chips, both of which were decent and left me with the characteristic "full, but not bloated" feeling one gets after a good vegetarian meal. Lighting is a bit scant in the indoor section. Otherwise, a cosy place to refuel 😊

This place has made me realise we can look toward a future where no animal has to suffer in order for humans to eat. I ordered the chilli beef burger and was amazed at how far the imitation meat industry has come. It tasted just like a real beef patty even with a bit of beef blood. I highly enjoyed both the chicken and the beef burgers at the Newtown joint! The cheesy fries was hectic, PERFECT amount of sauce..probs the best tasting sauce out of all the branches tbh. My meal came out pretty fast too. And yoooo that chocolate shake, oooooooffft m8 too good. Idk what's with the other people reviewing/chucking a whinge here. 5/5 solid az.

There's also the Fried Drum Sticks ($8). You have to be careful as there's a stick in the middle so beware! We try two different drum sticks including the Herbed drum stick and also the Tangy Seasoning. I really love hot chips so I get straight into the cheesey bacon fries. The bacon bits don't quite have the bacon texture but there's definitely the flavour there along with the rich cheesey sauce. M gets into the drum sticks and he says to me in surprise that the drum stick is delicious and tastes almost like chicken.
