Not much bad to say about this hotel. It is very grand in design and staff friendly and helpful. The location is perfect for city activities.
Parking is also very close by in the convention centre. …

We stayed in adjoining rooms with 2 kids, it was amazing having that space, 2 king beds, 2 TV's, 2 bathrooms. We wnt to Shiki restaurant for tea which was awesome as always. We had been worried taking 2 young kids to Shiki but we found food …

As per usual our stay at the Intercontinental was great. Room spacious and spotless. Everything that you need is provided. Excellent location , being right next to the railway station and casino. City shops are just a short stroll away, or …

Excellent hotel. Neat, clean rooms with all the facilities you might need. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Restaurant was good. We stayed on a package deal which was very generous. Included room, parking, breakfast and $50 credit towards dinner. Good views. All round a very pleasant stay.

We stayed here on a Friday night. Nice high room overlooking the casino, Parliament House and Government House. Great ambience. Great beds. Nice bathroom. Staff great. Great breakfast. Just be aware that the Adelaide Casino now has an …

Typically stay here each year for the Cricket, being a spire ambassador your meant to at least get a room upgrade, I booked a junior suite and ended up with a junior suite on the 9th level facing an office building...there were higher level …

The room was small but what a view. The bathroom was super cute. Most places have a hair dryer which it didn’t but that’s ok. The bed was comfy too. Staff were also fantastic. Can’t wait to stay here again and will be looking at bigger room options.
M. P.
The room was well appointed with everything you need. The decor shows the age of the hotel but still certainly of standard. The room and bathroom both spacious.
Our package included breakfast for two, a $50 food and beverage voucher and welcome drinks so we enjoyed dinner in the Atrium bar and then breakfast in the Riverside restaurant..both dinner and breakfast were fantastic.
We will stay again.

Stayed here on Christmas eve. Great experience and really cheap using their $200 deal which included free parking, free breakfast and $50 off dinner. I'd recommend eating at the Atrium rather than the Riverside as the have more choice and is more relaxed dining.

Was a really enjoyable stay. Close to the city. Could walk or catch the free tram wherever we needed to go. Breakfast was great. Had drinksand a bite to eat in the bar on arrival. We had car parking and could not find the lift so did walk …

Mixed experience for a 5-star hotel (& reputable chain):
1. There were no ceiling lights in the room - at all. This was weird at first, but we realised that only the 3 lamps could be used. But, 1 of these lamps (bed side) was hanging upside down and the bulb wasn't working.
2. There was no bedside table on one side, which is also a bit ordinary and lacks attention to detail.
3. For a 5-star hotel, using a temperature scale between "Warm & Cold" seemed a bit archaic.
4. The cleaner left dirty towels in our room.
5. The fridge is not really fitted into the wall cavity and feels like it's about to fall out every time we opened it.
6. Views from the room were sensational with flights visible every few mins.
7. Breakfast was served to the table due to COVID restrictions and was delightful.
8. Restaurants were plenty with good portion sizes too.
9. Bathrooms were the best part of the room!
Side note: On the last day, players from the Adelaide International were undertaking COVID tests downstairs, but as a guest, I was unaware, which is a bit disappointing, as it is an obvious risk to all.
Gary - reception/concierge staff member - was an absolute gun in terms of customer service. His smiling attitude and helpful nature far surpassed most of the other staff members, especially noting Tushar's general lack of courtesy.
As an overall, I think the staff & general service truly carried the weight of the Adelaide Intercon. While some comments may seem minor, they do impact the overall feel of the hotel.

Had the Shiki meal and accomodation package.
That made night away from home a very good night out.
Good meal, nice atmosphere, room was very clean but dated. Was a good breakfast …
L.
We had a wonderful stay, king size bed was very comfortable with huge choice in pillow types!
Room felt very hygienic and spacious including the bathroom. We loved breakfast …
R.
From the moment we walked in the door, the staff and team were attentive. The customer service was just outstanding. The hotel room was beautiful and clean, a very comfortable stay. The food for both dinner and breakfast was of the highest quality. I would highly recommend InterContinental to anyone.
K.
Check In wait time was disappointing, however the Shiki experience made it all worthwhile. Guest Room was very accommodating, however aged. Whilst I was impressed with the IPad rather than a grotty folder for Hotel information, the fact …

Mostly lovely, great views, big rooms. It was annoying to return to the hotel restaurant for dessert after our concert only to be turned away because they wanted to close 40 minutes before the advertised opening hours.

Clean and comfortable rooms. Great location.
The staff are very helpful nothing is a problem for them.
We had an amazing meal there. The steak I had was the best I've ever had. We will definitely be staying here again.

Hotel in desperate need of an upgrade! Really felt like I stepped back into 1989!
Staff and food was the winning elements here. The room felt like an upmarket hospital room with stained carpet. At least the bed was comfy...

We stayed with a mid week all inclusive deal and had a fantastic night. Sunday night was nice and quiet in the hotel. Staff were all really professional and so friendly, right from the valet when we first drove in. …

The hotel is dated...but neat and clean rooms..we stayed overnight. One big downside is that there is no parking....breakfast spread is good - nothing exceptional but does the job...

I really enjoyed my overnight stay at the Intercontinental Hotel in Adelaide. I booked the All inclusive offer and paid an extra $50 to request a riverside view of the Torrens. I wasn't able to eat in the Shiki Japanese restaurant as it was booked out, so next time I will book the restaurant at the same time as the accommodation. The room was large, had a comfy bed and super clean. The view was great. Breakfast next day was ordered from a menu, attentive staff and food arrived promptly.
S. P.
Great rooms and many food options in house. Breakfast was great with intelligent options to address the Covid restrictions.
We enjoyed our stay.

The room was spacious and bed large, pillows fantastic and large too. Extras in cupboard to change.
A quiet room great views of the city and breakfast was absolutely value, too …

The staff here is great. We had a very good experience with Alven during the buffet breakfast, make sure you request for him when you are there. The only bad thing I would say is that , the rooms are not up to the 5 star standards. The furniture , cleaning and linen is poor quality.

Great room for price but it ends there. Room service never picks up! No menu in room and then when phone diverts to reception and I ask for room service lady says she is happy to help only to tell me after I tell her what I would like that room service closed at 11pm!!!!!! Not what one expects from an international hotel!
T. M.
Flashback to the 80s with the decor set of the room, the room was very clean and tidy we had a view over the top of Parlement house, the. The bar was disappointing as what was on the Gin menu non of it was available condiment wise other than Lime or Lemon. The breakfast was nice but the service was quite abrupt. Overall the hotel needs an upgrade but was clean.

Sensational stay, the level of high quality customer service is fantastic. ALL the staff are amazing, so friendly and accomodating and always smiling. From the neat, clean common areas to the clean and tidy guest rooms and the great pool deck we enjoyed our stay. Thank you to all the wounderful staff
C.
Great hotel. Staff went out of their way to make it a special experience for us. Everything was taken care of and room ,bed and food wereso comfortable and delicious. Glad we chose Intercontinental Adelaide.
M. F.
Our experience was not as good as it was last year as we had an annoying kids ringing our door bell. Staff did speak to the children but not the mother hence it continued. Finally the staff asked if we want to be moved but as the nuisance kids were leaving we stayed where we were. Other than that the food is still excellent and staff and surroundings were still beautiful but I'll think about straying there again.
M.
Clean, big rooms. A little dated but overall clean and what you need is there. Staff were the winner here. Kind, happy to help with anything. Great customer service. Breakfast was great as were canepes and drinks as part of the club package. We will be back to stay again. Nice staycation
Y.
Stayed for my wife’s 50th birthday. Check in staff wishes her happy birthday and that’s where any recognition of the special occasion finished. No offer of a free drink or anything else. Once a special property now lagging behind nearby newer properties. Shiki restaurant was good.
M.
Very well located just on a side of the train station, casino, tram, convention centre, cricket stadium, main street of CBD, walking distance to the river, multiple restaurants and cafes. Spectacular views of the hills for a sunrise, west views for a sunset or, if you prefer, river view and cricket stadium. Renovation in progress which is great for an old well known Adelaide hotel. When I order steak for dinner, I need to ensure I do in a proper steak house, but one night I did an exception and ordered it as room service, wow! It was delicious, one of the best I have ever tried,... flavor, tenderness, jucy, good size and warm despite the room service delay that this represent. Please, don't change the way you cook it and supplier quality. Service and kindness on top level as well as amenities, congratulations Intercontinental Adelaide. Happy to see that printed menus, room info etc, is now digital via an iPad.

PERFECT IS THE WORD
On arrival we were greeted with such a friendly and helpful team of staff who instantly ensured that any requests were fully achieved .. from completely explaining, giving many recommendations and suggestions to enable our stay would be extremely comfortable ..from this point on we received top grade service and nothing was too much effort to give us faultless service and comfort .. the room was perfect in every way .. great layout, comfortable bed with excellent views .. excellent bar and relaxing lounge area plus top quality delicious food and service right throughout the hotel… location of the hotel was perfect with easy access to everything from eating areas, shopping, attractions all within walking distance plus transport was “right at the doorstep” (just about ) .. definitely the best stay right in the heart of the city … PERFECT IS THE WORD !! - InterContinental Hotel .. we love it !! .. we have already booked to come back again … RAY 😊

We booked this hotel for a night away without kids and picked this hotel largely due to the location and 5 star rating. We wanted to be in the city but with a nice view overlooking the river. …

Great friendly service from the front desk to dining and breakfast staff. Good location with quiet room facing the river.
Rooms a little dated but comfortable and clean.
Wonderful breakfast with excellent service.

Family get away weekend. Had a fun night in the city and made the most for the hotels amenities.
Breakfast is the perfect way to end a great weekend.. tasty

Staff were polite and reception staff very efficient, but the Hotel itself is looking tired. The whole place needs a revamp and the bed was really uncomfortable. Had to put the pillows on top of the bed and lay on top of them, so that I could get some sleep.

Great staff very helpful and friendly, got into Adelaide earlier than expected and were able to check in straight away. Really good pizza at the lounge bar for lunch, really good full cooked breakfast. Did not have Dinner here. Special mention to Oktay Kilic Head Concierge made our stay in Adelaide so very special. My husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary and had a wonderful stay!
The rooms were spotless!
The staff were amazing!
They were generous and gave us special treats to celebrate our anniversary ! We were so blessed!

First time I have stayed here and it was great. Booked late but still got a room with an amazing view. Great bar and service. Staff were very friendly and welcoming.

We stayed here for 3 nights in a King River View. Room was good, spacious, comfy bed, great pillows, nice big tv. Breakfast was nice, all staff we dealt with were lovely and professional. Location is perfect, close to everything. Would definitely stay here again.

I had a surprise birthday party for my wife on 15/01/2022. I had the Ballroom for the Surprise party. I had the best of experience dealing with Emily Williams (Conference & Events Executive) and Kyall Zechner (Venue Director Encore Event Technologies).
These amazing people were easy to communicate with from the planning stage until the end. Quick to respond to emails as well as phones.
The night of the event Minh was managing a team that made sure our best interests were taken care of. I commend Minh and team for a job well done.
In conclusion, keep up the good work guys. You're all amazing and will definitely recommend anyone to not hesitate to use your services

Absolutely love this hotel for a date night get away. Staff always super friendly and professional. Lovely views, valet service, great food. Our go to city hotel , beautiful pool. Highly recommend

Very happy with our 2 night stay. The rooms were clean and comfortable but the revamping and overhaul is definitely due. Staff were excellent and helpful. My only gripe, and I find this in most hotels, is the cooked breakfast is never hot …

We stayed on the weekend of 25th September. I arrived first and lugged three bags up the stairs while the valet parking guy watched me (i wasnt happy). Next I go to reservations to check in, my partner had provided his credit card to pay for the room but they wanted my card to pay for it anyway (I wasnt thrilled about that either and worked it out with the manager) My partner was given the wrong information on the phone. The rooms are a little tired and dated but great view, and the bathrooms have a bath. Dinner was really lovely and we had a $50 discount voucher for the meal. The beds were extremely comfortable and huge. Breakfast was really lovely as well and that was included in our very fair room rate. What made this experience even more special was the service of the concierge and how special he made us feel. Insisting on taking our bags to the car, opening my door and even tucking my belt jacket in and on my lap before closing the door. He was a tall slim gentleman with an accent and I just want him to know that its the service that he provided that make people feel special and not just a number, there should be more old fashioned service and there is not enough these days. Thank you, and please dont stop.

Fantastic location. All staff we encountered were friendly and professional. Enjoyed a lovely meal in the Atrium Lounge. Our go to place for a staycation. Thank you

Whilst I did enjoy my time at the Intercontinental, I was left very underwhelmed.
I cannot say that it lived up to its prestigious 5 star hotel reputation. It was mostly the little things that left me surprised when paying such a large price difference in comparison to other local hotels.
On arrival to our room, the air-conditioning was blasting on the coldest temperature, it was freezing. The robes in our room were both heavily over worn and slightly torn. Upon opening the wardrobe, a large metal fordable bench fell out, which could have caused damaged had I not reacted quickly. This happened 2nd time to my partner. The bathroom tap dripped rather quickly when turned off. The bed was two singles pushed together which moved significantely even when I dropped my luggage bag on top. Overall the room was outdated, there was nothing that made it extraordinary nor unique.
That being said, staff were very friendly, helpful and professional. The location is also wonderful and central to many of Adelaide's best. I hope the hotel is able to make a comeback with many hotels opening in Adelaide. However until then, I will choose other locations.

We stayed here on the night of our wedding plus the next two days, great service and amenities. Love the marble design of the bathroom, the TVs are a bit old and the bar fridge too but they work just fine. Had no problems with Valet parking. The added breakfast to our package was so worth it!
The Intercontinental team went out of their way to offer complementary champagne on our arrival and a dessert board for the celebration of our honeymoon. Overall, great service, very professional staff, great to see that the industry is still strong even after COVID.
B. M.
Had an amazing stay here at InterContinental. We stayed on level 16 and had to most incredible view of the River Torrens and the Adelaide Oval. Our room was really nice, with very comfortable beds, a desk, a TV, free wi-fi and amazing shower pressure. The staff were really friendly and welcoming and the breakfast included with our room was delicious! We loved our stay and can't wait to come back!
k. p.
Great service and lovely breakfast. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Manager on duty Ajit and Concierge William went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. Will definitely visit again.
R.
Very nice hotel if you don't have a car and are just using public transport. If you have a car I would not recommend to stay there as there is no parking on site and the closest car park is disgusting and very expensive.
C. W.
I stayed here on a Sunday night because I got a $100 voucher from the SA government. The room was nice on the 20th floor as the bed was comfortable and there was a spacious bathroom with a bath and large shower recess. There was a bath robe in the wardrobe that actually fitted me and there were complimentary bottles of vegan Australian made body wash and shampoo and conditioner.
The downside is there was only two small round Chinese made soaps for the basin so you needed to bring your own bath salts or bubble bath because those soaps were inadequate for a bath.
More downers were me getting a mild electrocution for using an obviously faulty supplied hair dryer that hadn't had its mandatory test in April 2020, and only getting the previous night's drinks for dinner credited for the inconvenience, which was only $12! There was only one vegan meal option at The Atrium restaurant. I was not satisfied as it was ordinary and unsubstantial for $29 and when I told the waiter it was almost cold he basically ignored me. Although there seemed to be ample waiters on the floor, the garlic bread that was ordered seemed to have been forgotten but when I enquired about it I was given vegan bread because the garlic bread wasn't vegan. That surprised me considering even Domino's Pizza has very good vegan garlic bread. Even though there was ample room in the restaurant, the tables for two were very small so I had to place one of my small breakfast plates on the floor whilst I ate from the other plate as I was given cereal and a hot meal. There were no vegan meals available for breakfast apart from fruit and cereal but the waitress said she would modify the meals available to suit me, which was what should be expected.
In addition, there was only a small carton of cow's milk in the room's fridge, taking no consideration that not everyone wants to drink breast milk from a cow. And the complimentary pad and pen was small and ordinary. I was surprised at the lack of a blanket and only one suit case table considering usually couples stay in the rooms. I did like the free wifi and use of an ipad though.
Overall I had expected better from a five star hotel.

We were not planning to stay in the city but after a quick google search we saw the room rates were great, so we booked in and decided to stay for the scrumptious breakfast the next morning too. We had a relaxing night and ordered room …

First time staying in the beautiful Hotel.
Staff were very helpful and friendly.
Tram right out front took us to Art Gallery and Mall for shopping. The River View Room was well worth the upgrade.
A. R.
Food and drinks can be a bit expensive but our room was modern, quiet and dark at night for sleeping. We've stayed at a few hotels whereby the bedroom was so light at night you could just about read a book! Definitely go here and treat yourself.
K. S.
Reminds me of 4 star hotels in india . Staff and service was great but building and rooms are dated - I guess there is no concept of 5 star hotels in australia

We had a great getaway at ADELAIDE’s Intercontinental Hotel. All the staff were friendly and very professional. Our experience was fantastic. The restaurant meal was delicious and breakfast just wonderful. Thank you to all.
E.
There was a long line to check in but the staff were very helpful and worked through everyone quickly. The room was very clean and comfortable. Best breakfast ever!
A.
Staff has not shown any initiative on going out of their way to be hospitable and cater to requests which are within reason. For example, a gift voucher for breakfast buffet was claimed but because of covid reasons no buffet is available. …
G. P.
The staff were very pleasant and helpful. Clean and tidy with good towels and linen. The breakfast menu is good and well catered for. We didn't eat an evening meal here so can't comment on the evening menu.
They also accommodated us with a late checkout so overall we had a great stay .
N. N.
The rooms are a little tired and not to the standard I expected from a 5 star hotel of this name. However the small issues with the ageing of the rooms can easily be overlooked by the excellent customer service from the fantastic staff that work there. No request seemed to be too much and numerous times were were surprised by the speed at which requests for room service, late check outs, pillows, coat hangers etc were all fulfilled. The staff really make this hotel excellent. Had the rooms be on par with our expectations it would have been 5 stars.
A. N.
The food was soo yummy…
I love the pizza pumpkin for my dinner and the egg Benedict with smoked tuna for my breakfast.
The place is quite old,, the swimming pool not big enough but it’s ok..
D.
We had a wonderful experience staying , with friendly staff, who spoilt us with some vouchers!
The hotel was spotless, are room was presented extremely well and the bed was super comfy!

Really enjoyed my stay with this place. It's great to see traditional hotel decor and utlimately sploit service. High tea is a treat too.

Hotel in need of a remodel, rooms large and very clean but very dated.I gave them 3 stars as the staff and service very good.Breakfast was good and staff happy to accommodate special request and plenty of staff for a busy weekend.

This hotel may not be new but is well maintained and in a great position. We had an all inclusive special and liked it so much we have booked another 2 nights for November
J. a. M.
Stayed two nights recently, there was a queue about 20 people long so it took 20minutes to check in. Staff was very friendly and professional breakfast was very nice and the rooms were very clean. On the down side the rooms are looking old and in need of General repair.

Starting to show its age and with some of its views blocked by a rival hotel and increased completion on F&B an upgrade will be needed. The service and food was only a pass but Covid restrictions could provide an excuse. Sure hope it returns to previous standards.

Excellent Service and a Great location. All staff went above and beyond to make our stay fabulous.

Staff friendly, breakfast was good. It appeared that only 2 lifts were operational, on the morning we stayed there, some people talking in the lift lobby said they had been waiting 10 mins for a lift to go to b'fast. A group of us took the stairs to b'fast, from level 14, similar experience when leaving the room, took the stairs. Rooms are somewhat dated but comfortable. Package was over $200 and there was still a credit card fee. Overall an average experience.
J. L.
Totally worth the stay with high class elegant rooms that are cosy, clean and comfortable with a relaxed inviting feel.
Staff are pleasant and respectful of your privacy but yet are also helpful.
G.
Excellent in-room service. Lovely desserts might I add. Keep it up.
J.
What a wonderful getaway with our close friends. Clean rooms with great beds and view of river and adelaide oval. Shiki restaurant was amazing

Large room, comfortable bed, great views of the river torrens and adelaide oval, opulent bathroom with a large bath.
Quality food at the restaurant and breakfast, no delays with waiting for food, very prompt..

J.
Very clean hotel however a little outdated decor, room was perfect with very comfortable bed and all facilities required, Friendly staff, excellent breakfast menu at the Riverside Restaurant, ideally located next to casino and Adelaide oval with Rundle Mall only a short walk away, would highly recommend.
L.
The staff were great and resolved any issues immediately, the toilet seat cover broke and we were amazed to find it replaced immediately while we were out. The club intercontinental service was also lovely and we felt ver comfortable sitting watching the world go by for breakfast on the day of leaving.
R. C.
Hotel has seen better days. Lobby is well kept but the rooms are a bit shabby around the furnishings BUT I was happy it was a clean room. Pool is tiny for the size of the hotel. There's only 8 sun loungers so a few people had to sit on the ground when I was there. Service at front desk was awesome. It's fine if you get a good price and not too fussed on the decor.
Z.
The staffs are very professional and the services are excellent. Although the hotel is a bit old, the room is spacious and kept very clean. The hotel is centrally situated and easy for me to move around town. Overall a fantastic experience for this business trip.
J. S.
Huge queue to check in... took 40 mins. The room was basic but nice. View was amazing and they threw in a bottle of bubbles as an apology

Stayed this weekend. I'm glad to hear the hotel is undergoing renovations soon as it does need it. Besides that the staff & the breakfast were fabulous. Please ensure you have more hanging space in the bathrooms for the towels to dry off.
M. C.
Fantastic staff , location and view from the room to the river was beautiful, nice red marble bathroom, nice breakfast.
The cons, outdated is one thing but appalled by worn out carpets which I witness on 19th floor. Some area there is smell of old carpet.
Old furnitures fixtures in bedroom with chipped woods.
W. K.
I like this place due to attractive interior, great service and nice breakfast. It's nice to spend time in a hotel which doesn't devote all internal spaces to rooms.
B.
From the time we stepped into the hotel staff made us welcome.
Room was clean, bed comfortable everything you need for overnight stay was excellent

For a wedding venue, I would like to rate this incredibly highly. I'm not rating this for interior, or music, or anything else. The SERVICE is what made is incredible. As a guest at a friends wedding, I can say that this venue deserves a real look, as it's genuinely worth it. Special shout out to Christina (hope I spelt that correctly) as she was particularly great at serving, and when we heard her name thanked in the wedding speech, we KNEW our amazing waiter had been her.

My mum and I stayed with the great state voucher - which was an awesome deal!
We were greeted by friendly staff, not made to feel second rate at all, despite using a discounted rate.
The hotel itself has held up very well considering it was built in the late 80's. Its clean and spacious. The atrium in the middle of the lobby could do with more (real) plants, and maybe a water feature? Its a bit of a dead space.
The bar and restaurant and quite nice. The cocktails were delicious and strong!
The spicy chicken wings are very tasty.
The room was spacious and clean, bathroom. Really big and super clean. Shower pressure awesome.

Decent hotel with clean rooms. Just few steps then you'll be inside the Adelaide casino. The good part is that it is located right at the centre of Adelaide city. However, their hallway going to their rooms is very blunt and old. I think they should do something inside their hotel to catch up the trend. The toilet inside their regular rooms was pretty narrow for disabled person on wheelchair.
