Great service, comfy bed and great view. Staff were friendly and helpful, impaticular a young lady on the reception desk that was training and she was amazing a very enjoyable experience

You’re really paying for location at the Stamford which is on North Terrace - the most beautiful street in Australia with several of Adelaide’s key tourist attractions and monuments. The room is comfortable, albeit a little dated.
I sent a service email in the day before I checked in and still am yet to receive a reply a week later. At check in, I wasn’t handed the details about room service which eventually arrived at 2200. If you’re paying more than $140-$160 for a room, it’s too much.

My daughter and I came over for her 40th and we had a lovely stay, a few small issues that the staff were more than happy to help. All the staff were respectful and kind.

Great place to stay! Customer service was amazing, I felt valued and appreciated, had some great chats, the room was awesome and as expected, great facility’s and great location!

I was here on QO 14-16 Dec being international flight crew. Though the hotel may not be newly renovated , I checked in to a very clean and spacious room. The food catered for us was clearly prepared with much thoughts to the taste and variety . The hotel staff placed the meals on the stool outside the room. This was a very thoughtful gesture as many QO hotels simply placed the meals on the floor in a bag . The meals were consistently served very warm which indicated that the staff worked promptly and delivered the meals without much delay . Each meal was well planned and balanced in taste and nutrition . Kudos to the hotel kitchen staff . The staff at front desk were all very polite and helpful each time I called . Despite the lack of freedom to move around , I had enjoyed my stay thoroughly . Thank you for the great service !

Was really worried to be locked up here for 14days after reading some previous reviews. Turns out they must have improved a lot since then. The food was fantastic, all three meals every day. The staff where really nice and helpful and any orders I received where pretty much delivered straight away. Had a great view of Adelaide and room was very clean and had good cleaning stuff to use myself during stay. Good large room also. Outside of windows were very dirty but that’s life and is an older style place but still nice. Fox sports was appreciated too. Have stayed at so much worse. Was the best it could be in a difficult world at the moment.

Although we were in quarantine rather than a holiday stay , but thanks to Stamford staff making our stay as comfortable they could , specially I cannot hold myself from mentioning courtesy of mr Anil , taking great care of our dietary needs and doing his best effort in making our stay away from home comfortable.

I have stayed at the Stanford plaza hotel many times, over many years
Great hotel, great service, nice breakfast Great location
Thankyou everyone

Enjoyed their bar which can serve up the classics really well.

Haven’t stayed yet , but just spoke to Ben in reservations so helpful and nice to deal with . Congratulations Stamford for having this young man on your team
Liz Powell . I look forward to getting a response about my issue with Covid not allowing us to stay at this hotel

Top notch service, the staff were fantastic. The meals were great and the function rooms were very well laid out. Great views! Not sure on the pricing as it was part of a conference package. Room was extremely tidy, but my view out of my window was just looking out over buildings. Sitting outside in front of the water made up for it :)

The location is great as its not too far from the shops or market but also only just across the street from the train station. The staff are polite, the rooms are comfortable, quiet and spacious. I did not eat in the hotel for dinner or room service but the buffet breakfast although basic it was tasty. I would recommend staying here.
S. B.
Great paired dinner and 23rd St. Gin pairing at La Boca. Good night, tasty food and lovely gin based cocktails. Good idea to have a Gin flight.

Fantastic location and friendly staff. Stayed here for a work trip, and couldn't be happier. The staff were super speedy at check in and staff welcome you upon return - very hospitable. More than standard fitness and pool facilities. The hotel is surrounded by highly rated restaurants and bars - great choices for breakfast and dinner.

Staff are very welcoming and helpful. However, while the rooms are clean and decently appointed the decor is a little dated. In addition the beds are not as comfortable as you would expect given the supposed star rating of the hotel and cost. I give it 3 stars for the property and 5 stars for the staff equating to the 4 star rating.

Nice staff, lovely beds. Really modern and well equipped new rooms. Seems like there are sensors for so many little automatic lights hidden around the room. Minibar has a good selection and nice bathroom amenities. Only complaint was the room service had run out of food late at night save for one option, and it was terrible, inedible. Otherwise lovely hotel!
D. K.
The room was very clean and comfortable which made the stay really nice. The food was delicious and looked stunning.
Finally the staff are very helpful and kind which made everthing perfect. Definitely recommend them if you want a little escape

Stayed here many times and loved it, recent stay was disappointing as staff were very rude. Room was was nice but found pieces of fine glass in the carpet that the cleaners had missed.
S. H.
Really lovely customer service. We were really glad we spent our anniversary with you as you made it extra special by giving us chocolates and a sparkling wine even though we don't drink. Breakfast was really great. Room rates are really great value.
S. L.
It was an okay stay. The location of the hotel is perfect but will recommend that you eat outside. The breakfast and In room service was not worth the price I was paying for. The breakfast was cold every morning. Even after paying $22 for full breakfast, they charge extra for coffee.... who does that??? Just for coffee you are charging extra !!! Tea/milk/hot chocolate are free...
M. M.
Very friendly and professional staff!! Rooms are great, clean and spacious. Bathrooms a little small though. Room service prices are little on the higher end and options are limited. Hotel offers rooftop swimming pool which is great and refurbished gym. In room massage is available to unwind and relax. Location is great. Lots of restaurants and attractions around.Over all a good hotel to stay in.
D. M.
Older styled rooms, very spacious and clean. Staff were helpful, and the buffet is excellent for breakfast. Rooms are somewhat noisy, ambient noise from the hotel came through the walls more than in most hotels. Lack of power points in convenient locations was also somewhat inconvenient, it's 2018 there should be one accessible from the bed.
F. S.
Good customer service and a great room. Very nice view from the room too. Very close to transport (tram right in front, railway station almost directly opposite and buses nearby). Good deals/bonuses are to be had for booking direct with them. Buffet breakfast was superb and very satisfying.
E. F.
Great location. Right in the heart of the city. Excellent service. The room we had was average. Main door does not lock tight. Still pretty secure though. Hot shower tap vibrates. Pointed these out to the staff when we checked out.
L. M.
Nice clean room with comfortable bed. Convenient parking at $25 for the day. We had a room near the lifts which was a bit noisy, but bareable. We had a deal and paid an extra $2 for the buffet breakfast which was excellent. Would definitely stay again.

A well located hotel within a short walk of all Adelaide CBD has to offer. The executive level rooms are very spacious and modern with all of the usual amenities. The breakfast buffet meets all of the usual hotel standards however no smoked salmon. The service was a little disappointing especially at breakfast. The gym is great, a good size and enough equipment for a good workout. The outdoor pool area is a bonus for those who have the opportunity to use it.

I've stayed at the Stamford more times than I can remember, but it's high time this hotel had an upgrade. It looks like the corridors haven't been given a facelift in at least 30 years and there's such a discrepancy in the varying standards of the room. One stay you can be placed in a relatively modern room that has been refurbished in the past 5 years, the next you can be in something that hasn't been updated since the 90s. It's a shame, as I like the location of this hotel and the overall facilities, but they really need to give this place a bit of TLC.
Plus: The rooftop sun area, pool and jacuzzi. Most of the staff are friendly.
Minus: I had two different rooms during my recent stay. The first overlooking the river was nice and relatively modern. The second, on the other side of the building overlooking a carpark, was dated and had a dirty bathroom.
Overall, definitely not a 5-star hotel and will really need some love if it is to compete with the number of new hotels opening in Adelaide in the next couple of years.
T. M.
Great customer services. Very good location within easy walking distance to the city sights... Adelaide Oval, Botanical Garden and Rundle Mall. The hotel was oldish but the room and bathroom were large and clean, comfortable bed. Friendly staff, good and assorted breakfast. We had a great time there.
N. P.
I was very annoyed initially, checking in was tedious, slow & I became impatient. I often stay at this hotel & seldom disappointed. I expressed this disappointment at reception & true to form, they bent over backwards to appease a customer. THAT is why I keep coming back, good service & they try hard. I can vouch for this brand's quality of service here, Melbourne & Sydney. I can & will easily recommend a stay at a Stamford hotel, the ambience & every other aspect resonates with me. I also recommend their breakfast, excellent & they usually accommodate a late checkout when available. I will, of course, be back. Cheers.

The experience was pleasant and we would speak well of the hotel on the whole. Inroom safe was handy for storing my iPad. Service was great and they even checked us in very early in the day. From being welcomed upon arrival to the …

Service was amazing. Great location with awesome dining options within the hotel. Room was neat and cozy and staff were knowledagble and friendly. Bed was comfy and room was clean with great attention to detail.
J. K.
If only they actually will email my receipt! - never came through despite asking twice.
Very lovely but dated hotel. Couldn't find a charger point near the bedside table but the room was very large and spacious. Staff were very attentive. Very good service.
T. W.
Bit of confusion when checking out saying we hadn't paid when we had confirmation from the Stamford Plaza it was paid in full before we arrived. That was a kick in the gut for an otherwise pleasant stay. Breakfast was pretty good. I prefer a spoon to stir my coffee not an ice cream stick. Nice friendly staff.
T. N.
I stay here for 2 weeks. Front desk was very on par. Helpful and friendly. The breakfast buffet was pretty much same menu everyday. The rooms are tidy and clean. Room service price is a bit overpriced. Small portion serving so you end up ordering the meal twice. Good prime location.
P. M.
Location is fantastic and room was fine. As far as service is concerned, no mini bar setup, valets were confused when we arrived and two of them got into a debate about who was attending to us. Room was promoted as valet service included but we got charged anyway.
M. R.
Not a good value for the cost, but a nice hotel.
Rooms were on the smaller side, but clean and well-kept. The bathroom was also small but had good amenities. In-house breakfast was great, and the staff was friendly and mostly helpful.
However, staff and pre-check in customer service reps did not provide consistent information, housekeeping was very slow (over an hour on two occasions) to respond to relatively simple requests, and the parking situation is terrible. Spaces are incredibly small, and so poorly laid out that it is often difficult to put even a small car in the space. In addition, there are not always spaces available. For $25.00 per day, I expected much less frustration for onsite parking.
If you’re looking for a nice hotel to splurge a lot of money on, this would probably suffice, but there are probably better options around.
S. K.
Clean well appointed rooms, spacious and modern. Staff were extremely friendly, helpful and proficient especially considering we had a large group of 35. The hotel itself is in a perfect location with everything we needed/wanted a stone throw away.
A 2 minute walk to the casino and the adelaide oval. Breakfast on both days was consistent and of good quality. Would highly recommend anyone to stay here.
M. W.
5 star luxury. You will enjoy staying here any time of year. Great amenities and lovely breakfast. Rooms well presented
A. S.
Great location near the station and the mall. Rooms neat and clean, but somewhat dated. Good view. Gym terrible: they claim to have free weights but do not. Service seems good.
h. v.
Just completed an over night stay for our anniversary and would like to complement the staff on there helpful and friendly manner to make us feel special. Room was very clean and tidy, bed was comfortable, and had a lovely view of the city surroundings. In the morning we opted for the continental breakfast which was delicious.
Thanks again to all the staff.
P.
We enjoyed our stay and were very confortable. The room was great and the buffet breakfast one of the best we have experienced for years. The hotel is obviously focussing well on their guests. However, a couple of items did take the shine off the stay. We had to call housekeeping for a second bathrobe and maintenace to sort out a minor problem with the AC. By far the biggest letdown was the Argentine resaurant. It just wasn't up to the same standard. Service was terrible and the food poor, both in quality and presentation. We would visit the hotel again but never the retaurant
D. O.
Stayed a few times - clean rooms and friendly desk staff. Well located near the casino and the station. Not far from the sporting arena for convenience. Room services meals are worth ordering. Something I dont usually do. Well done for impressing me
T. M.
Motel location is fantastic being in walking distance to a lot of venues , casino , public transport, sporting venues and shopping. The room was brilliant. The room was very spacious clean and had everything we required. Special shoutout to Alex and the rest of the concierge staff, thanks for making our stay so enjoyable.
N. A.
Room was nice and spacious, however very outdated, bathroom showed its age...cracked tiles etc. Staff were great, nice stay overall.
K. W.
The staff were really nice but only gets a three because the mattresses are not the most comfortable, and some of the tech in room was a bit clunky/outdated. Really like the policy around $10 off for each night you don't get room serviced though.
J. T.
The check-in staff was good, hotel is worn out and in need of renovation especially at walking down the corridors. Breakfast was average, no fresh fruit/vege juice and no custom egg omelette ;-(
S. p.
Quite comfortable beds, perfect location, friendly staff. The rooms are getting a bit dated and the bathrooms could be improved but overall a nice place to stay.

I visited this hotel with my fiance after staying at the Stamford Plaza Melbourne twice previously and loving it. The Stamford Plaza Adelaide is in an excellent location close to public transport, the service was great with Eddie at the front desk friendly and welcoming during check in, the rooms were large with everything you need in a hotel room including an iron. The reason that this hotel only gets 3 stars from me is the bed was one of the hardest beds I have slept in at any hotel and the pillows were terrible. Definitely not what I would expect from a 5 star hotel. My fiance and I woke up sore each morning and struggled to get a good night sleep. Maybe we got unlucky and got a bad room, but I suggest that if you value a comfy bed and a good night sleep you look at hotels elsewhere, however if you are happy with a hard bed and want to be in a great location near everything you need then I would recommend the Stamford Plaza Adelaide.
W. T.
Decent rooms. Good location in the city. My only beef with the place is that during my stay I wasn't feeling well, so I called the front desk to ask if they had a basic medicine kit, some pain killers and anti acid tablets. The front desk informed me that their policy was to not give out any medicines. And that I had to go to the drug store myself. That was uncomfortable to say the least. And very unhelpful. Other than that, it's a good place. Staff seemed friendly.

The best thing about this hotel is the staff, particularly the Concierge Alex. He made us feel welcome from the first moment he saw us, went out if his way to help us, made all the guests he made contact with feel special. The other staff were also endearing and helpful but Alex certainly was a stand out for my Mother and I. The hotel itself was fairly standard 5* hotel but the staff make it stand out.
A. L.
Always friendly staff from the front to the back. Nice rooms, although obviously the Stamford at Glenelg has the better views. Good facilities too, top floor spa is delicious.
A. K.
Good hotel but tired. The Stamford is a nice hotel with good facilities. It is, however, tired. The de or was quite old. We couldn't get in to our room until 5 pm which was a let down given we were there early. The staff were really good and in fairness, the price was excellent. The beds were very comfortable and the location is good It will be fantastic when the upgrade the rooms.
K. K.
The location of the hotel makes getting anywhere you fancy in CBD a breeze, but don't feel compelled to go far. Both onsite restaurants are brilliant and popular -consider booking of you want a table for a busy evening. The rooms are comfortable and good sized. The lifts are very fast which I really appreciate.
高.
Its really convenient staying here because of its location however the rooms are spacious and very relaxing. You can tell its an aged hotel but the maintenance here is top noch. My room had a passage which leads you to the big studio room. Thank you front desk staff super friendly and full of joks.

We celebrated a birthday function in the Crystal Room. Delicious food and staff were lovely. We also stayed overnight - well appointed room. Mattress very firm. Breakfast was delicious with an amazing range of options.
P. S.
Staff are slow, but nice. Free water, didn't happen. Customer In front of us had a day of hell with parking, and got extra free water. Ironic, don't you think.
Room is clean and tidy. Two huge beds. Shower just great for my needs. Power beside the bed for cpap. Wi-Fi limited.
Concierge service for tomorrow, that's great.
I am happy

Went there for a wedding reception and it was a very nice venue. The room was very big and held about 150 people well. Food was lovely which was seemed like a fusion of traditional with some asian flavours. Acoustics in the room were nice too.
M. M.
Fantastic hotel excellent service easily one of the best hotels in Adelaide. Have stayed here lots of times. The all inclusive stay costs 200 and you get a king room 100 credit at la bocca and breakfast for 2. Awesome deal. Staying again this week. Love this place.
T. M.
Room was well prepared and bed was absolutely heaven. Felt very safe and secure and thought the location was perfect to walk everywhere, and trust me everywhere was within a walkable distance and around the hive of town. Will be back again with family at Easter to stay longer.
J. C.
Went for show, but have stayed their before a while ago and it still feels welcoming 😊 tho lost a star for whatever scent they using in the male bathrooms now as it's really bad, please change the urinal cakes or something that scent is worse than just walking through alley with dumpsters on a 40°C day. Science in masking toilet smells got this product wrong, and I'm a nurse.
S. D.
The staff were extremely friendly; although there were some complications with our booking and apparently we had not paid for our room (although we had done it online months before our stay). I can't say much about the breakfast bar as I am a very picky eater but the people I traveled with enjoyed it.
Our biggest issue was the parking. It was a nightmare. Extremely tight turns to get in and out of the garage and ridiculously small parks. If you are driving to this hotel, I suggest not parking there. For such a nice hotel, a tiny parking garage down a small alley was disappointing. It was stressful.
I'm hoping they have a larger garage somewhere and we just parked in the wrong one?? I'm not sure.
Having said that, the hotel itself is very nice. As I said, the staff are friendly and even all of the other patrons we ran into. The hotel is in a great location and it's an quick walk to both the tram station and Rundle Mall. I recommend the stay... just not the parking.
L. N.
The staff were friendly, helpful and the service was on point. The hotel is in a great location near some great restaurants, Rundle Mall, casino, stadium... etc. Our room was well sized and newly refurbished. It over looked the park and Adelaide oval giving us prime seats to watch the fireworks on New Years. I would definitely come back to stay when next in Adelaide.
p. s.
Disappointing place. Was told when booking there would be free bottled water, $12 at mini bar prices. There wasn't.
On side of a bedside Cabinet at was filthy and we had to ask to have it cleaned.
Cudos goes for the quality of breakfast in the buffet. La Boca was noisy but the food was great.
C. H.
Was a great room, and the spa and pool were very nice. Unfortunately there wasn't a sauna like we were told. The staff were all very friendly. The attached Argentinean restaurant did a top notch steak, though unfortunately the service was a bit slow.
A. A.
Hotel is modern and stylish with superb customer service. Nothing I asked was too much trouble. All enquiries/tasks carried out promptly efficiently and with a smile. Concierge staff knowledgeable and friendly. Attached restaurant served amazing food freshly prepared and the homemade bread and chimichurri sauce were a delight to the senses.
A. S.
Nice hotel with an amazing location. Clean rooms that do not show their age. Bathrooms are clearly cleaned regularly. Powerpoints (a bane of so many hotels) are plenty and located at the table as well as each side of the bed (perfect for charging your phone)
D. B.
Moderate sized modern room with clean bathroom. Good water pressure in shower. Breakfast room service showed up on time, but the pot of brewed coffee was weak in flavour.
A. M.
Great restaurant with excellent customer service. Prices were a little expensive but you get a great experience for the money you pay. The duck breast main dish was very tasty. My wife and children enjoyed the "sushi boat" meal.
T. R.
Great location downtown by the museums and river front.
Alex the concierge is awesome ( worth one of my stars in overall rating)..
Specials at the adjoining restaurant from 4 to 6 are good too especially if you apply a room credit for opting out of a room cleaning!
M. H.
Fantastic hotel in the perfect position. Our room had perfect views of the New Year’s Eve fireworks. Also, service was great.
S. H. (.
The service was very good and theblobby is pretty good. I found the rooms decent but there seems to be a major problem with dust and dirt all over the insides and outsides of the windows. The first room i was in had the elevators on the bed head wall and it was unliveable. They changed me to their new updated rooms with a better view which was serverly tanished eith the dirt all over the windows. Other than this the internet was great. And the bed was very comfy. Im not a fan of the tv system with pay per view movies and no external hdmi input but it is what it is. It wasnt that bad just needs a clean of the windows
T. S.
Had a good stay room was comfortable had a goods night sleep, bed was comfortable. Hotel in good location for shopping and close to Adelaide oval. The only let down with room was the doors slam when closing so can wake you when others come home early in the morning. Found all the staff to be very friendly.
M. L.
This was the nicest hotel on our tour. The breakfast was lovely, the staff were great, the room was clean and up to date. The concierge Alex was a lark and we where very happy overall.
R. B.
We booked the Stamford based on the 5-star rating.
I can honestly rate this at 3-star based on comparing 3 and 5 star hotels.
The entrance to the hotel had road works and no concierge in sight to guide people.
The check-in desk was small, and only one staff knew how to process a check-in (the manager?).
Our room was clean, however very dated. The handle on the bathroom door looks older than my late grandmother.
The showers had cheap tapware and there was no water pressure - even on full.
The toilet was very cheap; it was one of the $150 units that you buy from Bunnings. The toilet lid hasn't been changed in years!
The bed was nice however there were only two pillow selections - "big" and "firm" which is exactly how the desk staff named them.
We don't need flat pillows, but the ones they offered were too large and they weren't interested in trying to help source a normal sized pillow.
We are wishing that we didn't book 4 days here and are considering leaving early and losing your upfront payment.
E. C.
The service was outstanding at the bar. We just wanted a pot of tea and were treated so well. The ambiance is so nice there and the seating very comfortable. Exceptional staff. Thanks you.
D. G.
Excellent night out. Stamford spa room was excellent, in room food was fantastic and the service by all staff couldn't have been better. The romance and indulgence package added a very nice touch and made for a very relaxing night away from real life. The whole experience was first class.
G. W.
Staff were helpful and friendly. The lifts are very fast which I really appreciate. Would recommend this hotel to anyone. I also loved Stamford Grand where I stayed 2 nights and Stamford plaza for 7 nights.
D. P.
We loved staying at The Stamford Plaza! The beds were really comfortable. The rooms were clean. The full breakfast in the dining room was delicious. Its parklands views are amazing. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay again!
T. w. G.
Overnight stay at the Stamford was great. The room was immaculate and clean. Received a $120 voucher to spend at La Boca, which serves amazing cocktails, and includes a free continental breakfast which had a wide variety of food. Good value, great experience.
N. S.
We came to their Christmas Dinner, so not staying at hotel. It was nice but certainly not taking a Christmas sack of memories with me. Seemed horribly disorganised. Food was good but didn't seem to be elevated to Christmas dinner status. Only extra food was turkey from a standard buffet. No entertainment or music, and maybe they should've done a fun Santa appearance or something. They got drinks bill wrong in my favour, thought I'd do the right thing and point it out, but they didn't care. Would I do it again, probably not.
T. M.
I stayed in a nice room on the 6th floor with a view over North Terrace to the Adelaide Oval. I love the hospitality and friendliness of EVERYONE. Location is fantastic if heading to the footy or for a spot of shopping. See you soon again, as we highly recommend visitors and locals to utilise this outstanding hotel asset in Adelaide.

Large Rooms, Soft beds, At the heart of the city. Bang opposite the Railway Station. What more do u need. Sky pool with Jacuzzi and alongside Gym. Had a good stay here.
G. H.
Before we even got out of the taxi the staff were there, they were very friendly and helpful. Our room was very clean and we were lucky enough to have a view over to Adelaide oval where we were going for a wedding. Only booked this hotel because of the location but after being there as we are from Melbourne I would definitely stay there again.
J. W.
Love Stamford Plaza. Getting a little dated now, but still good clean accommodation at a reasonable price & in the heart of the city, with spectacular views of Elder Park, Adelaide Oval, St. Peter's Cathedral, Adelaide Festival Centre & Casino, from the 16th floor upwards.
Staff are extremely helpful & polite, especially the ones that have been there a while. Had a few issues with a few younger members of staff, who lacked experience & a bit of communication problem with different languages.
All in all a great stay & give the youngsters the benefit of the doubt, I'm sure they'll get it right in the end.

Marvellous hotel with exceptonial service. Although it's not the newest hotel at the heart of Adelaide, it is kept in very good condition. So, the toilets may seem a bit outdated they are kept in good and clean condition. Breakfast is outstanding with a chef that prepares any special requests you may have. Too bad the coffee from the barista is charged extra. Would it have been included in your breakfast meal it would have given breakfast at Stamford just a littlebit more 'umpfh'. Rooms are clean, spaceous and well designed. And although I got in very early in the morning (7 AM), at the reception desk they were so kind to have a room prepared for me at 9:30 whilst getting a free upgrade as well. Too bad I can't rate them a 4,5 otherwise I would have. Will definitely stay here again.
A. B.
Staff are friendly and welcoming. Great place for lunch and s coffee. The function rooms are quite lovely and can cater for many different needs.
K. H.
Attend a day long seminar on the second floor. Airconditioning good but there are spots that are too cold unless you are wearing a jacket. Women whom get the cold seats unless have a good jacket may have to move. The seminar had breaks every 2 hours there was a waitng area a coffee machine staffed by Hotel and made a good drop for those that did not bring their own. Since the actual seminar was managed by the presenter the Hotel only cleaned up the waiting area. Seats were reasonable for the time seated.
B. M.
Good sized room. Clean. Excellent service. Also enjoyed my breakfast and pur conference seemed to run very well.
P. M.
I attended a professional event here at the Stamford Plaza Adelaide in October 2016. The facilities were clean, tidy and adequate however there was nothing remarkable about this as a conference venue.
As a general comment I feel the whole hotel needs a refurbishment as foyers, toilets, bar etc feel like they were fitted in the late 1970s.
B. W.
My husband and I had a lovely stay with very clean room, wonderful breakfast and very pleasant staff. In particular “Taylor” the Concierege at the time we stayed went out of her way to get back my phone that was left in a cab back to the hotel. She even put it on charge till I came to fetch it!! Thank you soooo much xx
M. C.
Lovely room, restaurants and the staff are exceptional! In the heart of Adelaide, opposite the Railway Station and the shops within walking distance with fabulous old government buildings opposite. What more could you ask for?
s. c.
Nice, good location, comfortable beds, smallbut good bathroom. Good enough breakfast, small but lovely rooftop pool, tiny but clean gym usefull for "urgent" training, extreme windy aircon. Even with set off the switch, due to no isolation of sliding window, thete was always strong stream of air through the room
J. L.
Great high-tea option (probably one of the best value and tastiest in Adelaide). Cascades was a bit dark with an 80s vibe but if you're more about the tiny food than decor, this place was great. Also can't go past the famous Stamford Curry Puffs - worth a visit just for these.
M. M.
Would have given this Hotel a 4 a couple of years ago. We visited the Cocktail Lounge every couple of weeks to relax, have a few Drinks and listen to the solo Live Music or watch Footy. It was a Buzz with people. Now they've stopped the Live Music and removed the TV's. Its dead. Disappointing.
L. B.
Great hotel. Lovely Premier Room overlooking the new Adelaide Oval and northern city. Staff here are lovely. I couldn't fault any of them. Bed extremely comfortable and $20 self-parking overnight is reasonable and easy to work out. Great selection of restaurants and perfect location to explore Adelaide. Highly recommended.
p. m.
Accommodation was ok. Location good. water pressure for shower was poor and cupboard door to the fridge was hanging off its hinges. Rest of the room was fine.
T. M.
Facilities appeared good and can walk to key city centre attractions and ***y offices. Curtains dark enough to sleep in every morning. Great location to all things in Adelaide. The breakfast was absolutely wonderful with every choice you would want and a chef to cook your eggs to order. Great value for money.
P. C.
My boyfriend and I visited the ginza restaurant within the Stamford Plaza on North tce for our anniversary. It was neatly tucked away in a short twist of stairs from the front side walk. We both picked an entree and main each which the staff were very happy to let us share, providing an extra small plate each. We were very well catered for, phenomenal service. There was an authentic eating area that we could see from where we were seated that we would love to try next time, though sitting right beside the window was quite a view too

Yeah large hotel and very expensive. Rooms are big but with not much in them. The gym is close to useless and the foyer smells pretty unpleasant. Basically u get very little for what u pay
T. M.
No complaints with the hotel. The rooms were clean and the staff were friendly. There is a nice bar in the hotel and a buffet breakfast available.
F. D.
Stayed for IAC 2017 for a week. The room itself is alright, maybe a little out of date. 1 ply toilet paper in such a hotel is horrible. Our bathroom door lock broke on the first door, so maintenance had to kick it down to get my roommate out. We had to be relocated 3 times over 4 days, and finally the door is fixed. Horrible customer service, had to go to reception to get any updates. Coming home at 9pm to no bathroom door and then having to wait to be relocated isn't very fun.
K. R.
Great service really nice hotel perfect spot in the city. However the shower was terrible and the bathroom tiny I assume thats just the standard rooms but still that shower was terrible that's why it lost the fifth star.
c. E.
Great location, rooms are nice but must have thin walls as I could hear everything in the room next door. Great Buffet breakfast on offer and make eggs anyway you like them.
W. L.
Loved our stay here even though it was only for one night! Friendly staff, lovely views from our room, comfy bed and food was excellent!
T. M.
I thought the hotel came across n decor as a little tired. The bathroom was extremely dated and the shower over the bath is dangerously slippery. Cascade's has a great feel for pre dinner drinks and the location of the venue makes it a must for any visit to Adelaide.
R. T.
The location, service, buffet breakfast, our room and the view were great. Our vacation in the city of Adelaide and surrounding area was also enhanced by the valuable suggestions made by the concierge, Marc. Could not be happier with our experience. We look forward to staying at Stamford Plaza the next time we are in Adelaide!
J. B.
Just another aging hotel in my opinion. The rooms were fine. I didn't stay long so didn't have many interactions with staff. My bed was very comfortable and I slept very well.
G. H.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, would recommend and visit again. All staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful. Is in a very central location, close to everything we required.
T. E.
Had the breakfast buffet at the Crystal Room. Was surprised we had to share tables. I didnt mind personally but it wouldve been great to be informed prior to the breakfast. Food was good and the dining experience was okay.

EXCELLENCE AT THE STAMFORD
From the moment we stepped into this great hotel, the rambunctious and quirky Concierge Alex greeted us like rich relatives, with a mixture of good humour and genuine delight, and from there the Stamford experience was a wonderful 5-star all the way.
If staff are the measure of a good hotel, those at the Stamford were the epitome of grace, style, elegance and service.
A rare compliment from this reviewer.
The rooms were immaculate, and if you are fortunate to have a high room facing over North Terrace, the view over the Festival Centre and the Adelaide Cricket ground will keep you entertained for hours.
Breakfast was buffet style and generous.
I stayed at this establishment many moons ago when it was the Terraces Hotel, and whilst that was a very good establishment, the Stamford mob have raised the standard to excellent.
And the central location...unbeatable!
The Stamford rates a rare 10 out of 10 from this humble writer.
If you are fortunate to stay there, tell 'em Sam said a big Hi, and thank you!
SAM HILLARD AND JAN GIBBS
ps: The great staff have just located Jan's sunglasses which she left in the room...so a big thanks to Devi and the honest housekeeper who found them. What service!
D. W.
Good location on north terrace. Easy walking distance to all areas of interest. Very good rooms clean and spacious. Attentive staff and friendly relaxing atmosphere.
A. H.
Had a great lunch with some friends. Would have preferred table service as there was some confusion with the lack of table numbers. But the food was good, although a little on the cold side.
H. D.
We stayed in Stamford Plaza Adelaide for 2 nights. We had beautiful views from our room. The room was comfortable. Shower was fine. The luggage service was very good. Valet parking as well. Breakfast was good, but could be improved.
Wifi is not up to standard. It is only free in the lobby and it did not work properly on my iPad. I had to get help both times.
J. A.
We spent a night at Stamford Plaza Adelaide and were quite happy with the hotel. The staff were friendly and the location is good, being close to Rundle Mall and some nice restaurants. The views were none existent due to the buildings location. The breakfast was nice, but a proper coffee was an additional cost on top of breakfast which is a shame.
r. s.
Great service & food from the La Boca Restaurant. Michelle & Rachel were very friendly & accommodating to our needs. Highly recommended & lovely staff - Will return again!
C. N.
I stayed here in year 2016 in the month of Dec. I was given room at 3rd floor and I requested upgrade or atleast top floor with view. Special thanks to the team there, I got the best view room at 20th floor on the second day. I enjoyed my stay there as rooms were fabulous, service, food and location was amazing!!! Thank you Stamford Plaza, Adelaide, and University of Adelaide. I also loved Stamford Grand where i stayed 2 nights and Stamford plaza for 7 nights.
Much Love

Stayed with a wedding party and had three rooms. Overall nice staff and good check in experience but every room was just...average, especially considering pricespid
Room 1: Juniour suite with a view to a concrete wall. Large and okay layout but bed was ridiculously uncomfortable and a foam topper just made it hot and sweaty. Big bathroom with a small tub...
Room 2: Executive room on upper level, amazing view of stadium toward north Adelaide. Water pressure of barely a trickle that was nothing new to the cleaning team or front desk team. Bed also reported to be awful.
Room 3: Double room on upper floor with same views of city as room 2, bed like a rock with starchiest sheets known to mankind. Water pressure barely improved but you could at least rinse of the soap. Clean on arrival but other than a made bed the room wasn't cleaned at all the first or second nights.
M. D. B.
Attended a function recently. Drinks waiters were friendly, helpful and attentive. Food was lacklustre and main meal was average, bordering on tough (steak). The surrounds were "intimate" for a ballroom.
J. B.
Dear Stamford Plaza,
Welcome to middle age.
Everything still functions, just probably not as well as in your heyday, eh?
I could tell you were good in your day, perhaps very good, maybe great, but now, now things are just a little faded, not quite what they once were.
All your important organs are still functioning well, faculties still intact, the odd glimpse of the old vigour can suddenly appear.
But time takes its toll, and I left our time together slightly melancholy.
Stay well Stamford Plaza.
J. H.
Rooms are nice and staff are friendly, the buffet breakfast left me with a bad taste (excuse the pun) - the heart attack inducing offerings I remember from the 80s. Zero healthy options.
M.
This review is more about the restaurant La Boca, one of our favourites in Adelaide for steak eaters. Sirloin is very tender, jucy and good portion for dinner. Ensure you order chees empanadas with chimichurry salsa on aside. My wife ordered some vegetarian options and she love them... Lucky me.
L. J.
The location and rooms were great for the price. easy access to the city and the train line. the staff were super nice and understanding of last minute bookings. did everything they could to help.
M. C.
Room is spacious, clean and had an excellent view of the parliament and Adelaide oval. Staff are professional and attentive. Located in a central and convenient location with access to public transport.
V. M.
Reception staff helpful and Welcoming. Room spacious with standard emnities. Aircon was noisy and AC controller could be brought to more modern standards!! Otherwise pleasant experience!!
Z. R.
Great hotel in a better location (if you can navigate all the Adelaide one ways). Friendly staff and bar/restaurant choices in hotel. Will be staying here again!
J. P.
We had a great room on the top floor with a lovely view. The hotel is a bit old and could do with a facelift but the room was clean and comfortable.
A. M.
Pretty good stay. Good location. Close to all we came for. Fridge could do with a upgrade & shower pressure could be better
J. L.
Hotel is on the very good spot, stuff is helpful and breakfast is very good. Metro station is close. There is a grill bar above the hotel, they recommend it by themself, and they have a very good stake. Won't regret visiting it definetely!
N. R.
Very close to train station, which was extremely handy. Rooms were very clean and looked nice. Service was professional. However, not all the facilities were available during our stay.
M. L.
The team are fantastic rooms are very clean location is in the heart of Glenelg
The views from your room are amazing
The pool is beautiful and clean but the bubble bath in the spa is better Thank you team for an amazing holiday ⭐️
D. K.
We had everything we needed in a great location. The staff were friendly and there was a fantastic restaurant downstairs with amazing food. Thanks for a great stay.
C. K.
A lovely 5* hotel, without all the pomp and hipe of some. Very comfortable sleep, wonderful views over the North Parklands and the River Torrens precinct. Worth every cent!!!
H. O.
Good, quick and tasty lunch menu for dine in or take away. Good value. Pleasant environment to catch up with friends over a coffee. Prompt service.
R. S.
Location is great and great view if you are at high floor . The room is good with lotsa power points so no worries about charging all your mobile devices. Staff are very professional.
T. C.
Function room was lovely, bar staff was a bit average. Sometimes waiting a while to be served. Food was very average. Still had a wonderful night
S. D.
Delicious dinner and drinks, accomodated our large group easily and happily. Not terribly expensive either for such a great location. Will return again for certain.
S.
Had High Tea at Stamford Plaza today with 4 friends, the food was delicious, unfortunately the service was disappointing as they were short staffed. We have had High Tea at Stamford before and thoroughly enjoyed the experience, today it did not meet our expectations
b. d.
Hotel itself was fantastic, services were on point. The only downfall was the bed and pillows were awful but I'm sure when the makeover they were doing is over, they will be changed.
L. F.
Attended a function - average. Some speakers had microphones, some didn't. No water on tables, lunch was very average. Morning tea was good. Close to train station was good
S. H.
Great package deal. Would have got 5 stars if I could have been able to adjust the aircon temp in the room. Too uncomfortable for a good sleep.
P. G.
Great service from friendly helpful staff. The room had a nice view across to the Adelaide Oval and the meal at La-Boca was great.
Great value too for a hotel of this standard
A. B.
Nice and clean. Cold room service 3 out of the the 4 times ordered. Service is professional and friendly. Firm comfortable bed and bedding.
J. D.
Fantastic staff at reception, housekeeping and restaurant. Terrific buffet breakfast and located close to tram for easy access to mall, markets, chinatown, glenelg.
P. M.
After work drinks at the cascades bar. It is a lovely quiet stylish bar. Guitars on bars venue with a great local artist, Sophie Orchard, playing. Really enjoyed the experience and will definitely be back.
J. D.
Well service and a complete professional hotel. Service is outstanding compared to price. Location is best and staff are well trained to give you the best experience.
M. G.
Enjoyed our meal at La Boca. Reasonably priced menu of dining with a group. I would have liked the meats to be served a tad warmer though.
J. V.
Great views, friendly staff, clean and modern rooms. Excellent location too, very close to everything. Definitely a great place to stay.
M. S.
We had a wonderful high tea here this afternoon. Quiet and cool with good service, it was the perfect way to relax and have a good organisational discussion with the wife.
C. G.
The Stamform hotel is centrally located in Adelaide. We were upgraded to a deluxe room with fantastic views of the New Year fireworks. The staff are friendly and helpful.

A. R.
It's a nice Hotel. Staffs are very friendly and helpful. The Hotel is situated in a very convenient place, from where the places of interests are in walking distances.
K.
We went to see Jerry Seinfeld at the Entertainment Centre. It was so easy to step out of the Stamford and get on the tram which took us straight to the venue. The Adelaide train station is right across the road and the State Library and Rundle Mall within a very short walk. Friendly staff at the Stamford. My first choice when staying in Adelaide City.
D. B.
What a beautiful location for a seminar, light meal and a stay over.
I look forward to the next visit and enjoying a meal in their main restaurant.
A. C. (.
I only had a few drinks in the bar. It's a nice secluded bar out of the way. Service was great. The bar is comfortable, relaxed and quiet.
M. I.

L. E.
Staff are always brilliant here. Great big rooms and super cor. Breakfast is good too.
M. R.
Love this place, stay a couple of times a year as a getaway, had my daughters wedding reception here and cannot speak highly enough of the service, meals lovely, if staying book direct and order buffet breakfast as cheaper in advance, breakfast buffet is to die for and argentinian restuarant la boca cafe is a definite go to for dinner for meat eaters.
A. B.
Stopped in for lunch with colleagues and the food was delicious. Extremely fast service, which is fantastic when you've only got one hour to spare. Highly recommended.
S. G.
Great location across from the casino, rooms were well detailed and staff were friendly. I've stayed before and would do again.
M. D.
Went to La Boca for lunch. The express lunch they have is superb. Food was delicious and the meat was juicy and tender. Reasonbly priced for quality food in short amount of time.
A. W.
Was there for a business meeting/gathering. Nice environment and friendly staff. The finger food they served was pretty good

The Japanese restaurant was ok. I'm a vegan and the tofu and tomato sald entre was amazing. But the tofu staek for mains was a big let down.

Very Expensive. Main food was a little bland but staff were lovely and helpful. Pre dinner was nice.
T. M.
One bed light not working. I did not realise the the hotel instructions were on the TV. It would have helped to have been told that when I checked in.
