Free Breakfast everyday and free dinner on few days in a week and weekend night party, Huge kitchen with everything you need,Common areas on ground and first floor with TVs ,Books ,Hot showers ,many toilets. It's just unbelievable with price. Blankets and pillows are clean ,cotton. Could out them for cleaning anytime and change it. Laundry with coins,location in heart of city. O. J.Cool place very near the shopping malls, they have pancake 🥞 breakfast everyday start at 9:30am which I love to wake-up too. If your a non-smoker dnt take the Room 1001 as you will be suffocated other than that room mates are nice. The Reception manager is very accommodating and easy to talk to when I shorten my Stay that usual. She always love to help. Thanks again guys.

J. P.I lived here for over 6 months and loved every minute of it, there is truly never a dull day in Tequila!
Pros
- The staff are really lovely and do their best to keep the hostel clean, tidy and safe. The common areas and rooms are cleaned daily. Disruptive guests are handled in a fair and timely way. Towels are available from the front desk at no deposit.
- The rooms are generally okay and not too full. If you get a bottom bunk there are drawers under the bed for storage and you can hang sheets for privacy. There is a capsule room for additional comfort and privacy at a small extra cost.
- The breakfasts and dinners are phenomenal considering they are included and staff cook for 70+ guests. Plenty of pancakes for breakfast with a range of toppings/extras. Usually a meat and a vegetarian option for dinner, otherwise only vegetarian. Dinners include pastas and currys with occasional special nights. Portions are substantial and opportunities for seconds if there is excess.
- Great social atmosphere with a healthy mix of long terms and floaters. Cheap drinks and pitchers available from the bar. Groups going out most nights if that is your thing. Upstairs and downstairs areas both have TVs and some guests are kind enough to leave media devices connected for others to use.
- Location is unbeatable with short walks (5mins) to Hindley street (clubs, bars and all night food) and the Central market (huge range of food options with takeaway, groceries and a Coles). Rundle mall has all other shops you could want and is a 15 min walk. Tram routes to the beach run frequently and are cheap (you need to get a metrocard for the best rates).
Cons
- The hostel is not staffed 24/7. That being said there is a contact number when checking in outside of normal hours.
- The toilets and showers are well worn and on first impression quite a turn off. These facilities are functional and maintenance issues are dealt with quickly but honestly they could use a revamp.
- The kitchen is well stocked with plates, cutlery and mugs (get there 5 mins early for dinner) however you'll really have to make do with the limited range of pots and pans if you cook your own food. Unfortunately as this is a shared area and some people don't understand common decency you may need to wash things up before using them. This is not a reflection on the hostel but rather a small portion of the guests, the staff clean everything in the kitchen every morning. Long story short if you are travelling with your own gear bring in a pot and pan and keep it in your kitchen box to save yourself the heartache.
Overall I really loved my experience. I met some really amazing people and made lifelong friends. Tequila is one of the most affordable options around and if you're saving money by staying here you'll have to accept what comes with that.

Unfortunately, the lack of reception staff at reception was incredibly frustrating - nine times out of ten there was no one there and having to phone up to speak to someone was tiresome and the phone was often unanswered. We got locked out a few times as a result, and it was stressful not having reception there to answer queries.
Rooms and shower cubicles could use a clean and the balcony and ‘no smoking’ section close to the toilets unfortunately constantly stunk of weed - would have spoken to staff about this if there was ever anyone at reception...

Probably the best hostel I've ever stayed at. Staff was friendly and super helpful. Free laundry, 4 meals for free every week, free amazing pancakes in the morning and for one of the cheapest hostels I've stayed as well. If something wasn't working, like one night the plugs stopped functioning, went to tell the staff and they told me 'yes we know, an electrician is on the way to fix it', half an hour later problem was solved and the came to check before leaving the hostel everything was still working so we wouldn't spend the night without plugs working... I was just impressed. They also have a good parking deal, and common area is awesome.
They are also making new rooms as capsules and they are all knew with new beds which is gonna be great when they finish all of them.
You have the feeling you're being taken care of, so basically everyone is happy to be there and it's just hrreay atmosphere for all.

Some of the beds were a bit old but I loved the rest so much I didn't really care.
If I have to 'complain' about something but it would more be a suggestion really, every morning a huge quantity of pancakes is made and they all are made with the small bottles of instant pancakes which represents a huge amount of plastic bottles used every day, maybe something else could be found to use less plastic each day :)

But that’s a detail, apart from that, I definitely recommend this hostel.
D. g.Very cheap hostel, with all the basics that you need. Kitchen and common room are a bit too small, so difficult to find space to cook or sit down. The whole hostel could do with a proper deep clean, as things are generally a bit dusty or grimey. Considering the price, it is overall not bad, but there are definitely better hostels around.
C.They offer free breakfasts and dinners! How awesome is that? A real bang for your buck! But bathroom facilities could be expanded.

On the down side its only that you won't know if u happen to get a bad attitude roommate (i hade one who was drunk as hell and wanted to spill a beer jug in the room).

S. s. c.I can not point out a finger @ what i loved most about this hostel because everthing was just too nice. The building looks, feels and smells very nice. The staff there super friendly and not to mention the other guests who are also residing there. When you consider the amount of money u pay and the type of service u get Everything about taquila is special including the big and spacious balcony. During my time here in Australia i been 2 many places but yes Taquila gets the outstanding award i give it a 15/10. Right from the 1st day to the 5th week i was there. Was just niceness . I didn't want to continue with my ventures just yet and that's how much i like it.

Kitchen is huge... Complimentary food most days and functional well maintained bathrooms with open social feel to engage or chill out in.
Only disliked noise from construction across road which should go away soon and stuffy bunk dorm with my jacket and motorcycle gear on was challenging.
Great value for what you get so close to Central Adelaide (Rundle mall, botanic gardens, motorcycle parking)
Im surprised they dont have a membership option for long term contractors; who i heard to stay months at a time; as it can easily be booked out on weekends.
I would have stayed another night! But ive found a suitable alternative in port adelaide.

Even though it is on the cheap side, it was also nice to provide breakfast (pancakes, jam or other sauce) and free Korean curry/tomato pasta every 8 o'clock on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday evenings.
There are wide sofas and tables on the first floor, and there is also a shared kitchen, so there are always many people on the first floor.
The sofas on the 1st and 2nd floors look a little old, and it doesn't look clean when all kinds of people sit down, but I was okay with sitting on the sofa and lying on the sofa instead of wearing pajamas. There were times when many people used the shared kitchen and felt a little unsanitary, but my kitchen wasn't very clean.
During my stay, there were so many people that almost all of the beds were full, and if it's uncomfortable, it might be uncomfortable, but it was nice to be able to stay alone and chat with people staying at the hostel.
The staff are all friendly.
Towels and dryers were also provided for free.
The room had a high ceiling so it wasn't bad to use the bunk bed on the bunk side.
However, it was uncomfortable that there was little space to store my luggage. You can put a large basket on the bottom of the bed and put your favorite luggage there.
I don't know about mixed rooms, but the women's room is an atmosphere where you don't have to worry about theft or loss, so it was nice to be able to leave it with anything other than passports and money.
There is only one toilet or shower room on the first floor, but there are many shower rooms and toilets on the second floor, so there was nothing inconvenient to use.
Laundry can be used for $2 with a washing machine on the first floor. Laundry detergent is free to use, it's cheap, but it wasn't bad to use once or twice during a short stay.
The dryer in front of the women's bathroom on the first floor can be used for free.

저렴한 편인데도, 조식(팬케이크, 잼이나 기타 소스)을 제공해주고 월,수,금,토요일 저녁 8시마다 한국식 카레/토마토 파스타 등을 무료로 제공해주는 점도 좋았습니다.
1층에 쇼파나 탁자들이 넓게 배치돼있고 공용주방도 있어서 1층엔 언제나 사람들이 많습니다.
1층과 2층에 있는 소파들은 좀 오래돼보이기도 하고 온갖 사람들이 앉고 하다보니 깨끗해보이진 않아요.그래도 잠옷 말고 외출복 입고서 쇼파 앉고 눕고 하면 되니까 전 괜찮았습니다. 공용주방은 많은 사람들이 쓰다보니 조금 비위생적이라고 느낄 때도 있었지만 제 부엌도 그리 깨끗하진 않아서ㅋ
제가 지내는 동안은 거의 모든 침대가 다 찼을 정도로 사람들이 많았는데 그게 불편하다면 불편할 수도 있겠지만 혼자 간다면 외롭지 않게 지낼 수 있고, 호스텔에 머무는 사람들과 이야기도 나누며 지낼 수 있는게 좋았습니다.
직원분들도 다들 친절하고요.
수건이나 드라이기도 무료로 제공해줘서 좋았습니다.
방은 천장이 높아서 이층침대 이층쪽을 쓰는 것도 나쁘지 않았어요.
다만 짐을 둘 수 있는 공간이 적은 건 불편하더라구요. 침대 바닥쪽에 큰 바구니를 넣어두고 거기에 자주 쓰는 짐 정도를 넣어둘 순 있습니다.
혼성 방은 모르겠지만 여성용 방은 도난이나 분실을 걱정하지 않아도 되는 분위기라 여권이나 돈같은 거 외엔 그냥 두고 다닐 수 있어 좋았습니다.
1층엔 화장실이나 샤워실이 한 군데씩밖에 없지만 2층은 샤워실, 화장실 개수가 많아서 사용하는데 불편한 건 딱히 없었구요.
세탁은 1층 세탁기로 2달러로 쓸 수 있어요. 세탁세제는 무료로 쓸 수 있는데 싼 거지만 잠깐 머무는 동안 한 두번 쓰기엔 나쁘지 않았어요.
건조기는 1층 여자화장실 앞에 있는 건 공짜로 쓸 수 있구요.
