From the planning to the booking, the stay, the experience, the hospitality, bthe views and the hosts...and everything in between can not recommend this place more!!! This accommodation and experience was booked for a wedding anniversary!!! Chats and afternoon tea with hosts were a highlight. Thank you so much

An excellent accommodation place and highly recommended. Although located just outside the township of Kingaroy, this allows for the peace and tranquility it provides. There are excellent views and it is very quiet! The cabin has everything you need, including a small kitchen and a separate bathroom. A small breakfast (cereal, toast, juice, butter, jams) is provided, as well as the usual tea, coffee, milk etc. Toiletries are provided in the bathroom. The cabin has reverse cycle airconditioning as well as a wood fire, with wood and fire lighters provided. One disadvantage is that you cannot get wifi but this is not offered on the website so should not be a surprise. One significant advantage is that the accommodation is pet friendly and is a great location to take the family dog.
Be aware though that the prices shown on the website are not clear. Our cabin (Avocado Grove) was advertised as ‘from $145 per night’ mid week. We were actually charge $155 per night. We were later verbally advised that the $145 per night is a three night minimum however this is not explained on the website.
Nevertheless, the standard of the accommodation with breakfasts included, the location and the fact it is pet friendly makes it very competitive with other venues and I would certainly recommend it.

Beautiful weekend staying at Bethany Cottages. Relaxing and a touch of luxury and romance staying in the Tranquility cottage which featured a fireplace and spa bath. It was the perfect location for exploring the South Burnett region. The view from the property was breathtaking, looking over Kingaroy and the Bunya Mountains, and you could see the recently finished wind farm off the the distance! We will definitely be back one day.

We only had a one night stay and wished for more. Most peaceful, private and tranquil setting and well equipped cabin. Clean and very comfortable queen bed. Views over the valley to Kingaroy. Very friendly and attentive hosts. Scones are great!

Love the neat clean and eclectic style, pool is clean, nice big deck and loved meeting the family hosts. I had a friendship with Sir Joh and Lady Flo back in the day. Read Johs book and had a great time. Great farmstay.

Sweet self contained cottages with a ripper view. Comes with an amazing connection to the history of Kingaroy and regards general South Burnett. Love to start the fire in winter and be surrounded by the beautiful views. Ah the serenity!

We visited Bethany Cottages in June 2011 for a long weekend. It was a spur of the moment thing and we were lucky there had been a cancellation. To be honest, I wan't expecting much for the price as it seemed cheap compared to what many others are charging but boy was I wrong. It was fantastic. The weekend was cold and miserable but that added to the ambience as we sat in front of our slow combustion fire, drinking red wine and watching the rain come in over the mountains.
They provide breakfast provisions which included juice, milk, eggs, bread, spreads, margarine, tea, coffee and some biscuits for afernoon tea. Very generous!
The cabin itself was very clean and well set out. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need to cook and there is a BBQ on the porch.
The local pizza place delivers which is great if you don't feel like cooking.
You can borrow dvd's from the main house and they have a huge selection.
I can't recommend this place highly enough.

Such a significant location in Queensland's history. Home farm of former Qld Premier Sir Joh Bjelke Petersen and Lady Florence Bjelke Petersen - two of Australia's most influential and giving politicians of the 20th century. The family still operates the farm and guest cottages with open arms and a friendly and helpful smile. Cottages are perfectly clean and carry the Qld country ambience with stunning sunset views across the town of Kingaroy, farms, mountain ranges and beyond. Small birdlife is a credit to Sir Joh's love of nature with local native forest regeneration in progress. Congratulations Lady Flo, John and Karryn for allowing visitors to enjoy your wonderful place.
