I've been here many times over the years since the 80's and it's still exactly the same friendly service . A lovely step back in time .
D. J.Got a motel room, very clean and very comfortable, way better than I expected. The towels were extra big! Ate in the pub and had a ripper of a T-bone steak, could hardly finish the meal. The staff were very friendly towards out of towners. A great experience all round. Thank you!
G. M.Great old school Aussie pub, steaks for dinner were sensational, fair price at $30. Rooms in the hotel are clean basic, share bathroom, cheap at $70 p/night, the whole pub nicely decorated with old Aussie memorabilia , mattress was hard but I like it that way. Staff were lovely and friendly, definitely drop on for a beer and food, or stat the night.

A. S.The daily specials menu was good value - however I thought the normal menu was overpriced for old-fashioned style pub meals, with frozen veges & Gravox sauce.
However the pub itself is sadly in need of a major makeover & not particularly clean.
That being said, there were a surprising number of locals there for Sunday lunch - so they must like the place.

K. A.Not a bad little pub for a small town. Great counter dinner, melt in your mouth bbq pork along with 5 or 6 different veggies & mash. I don't drink but i could spend hours out the back in the beer garden with 2 pool tables. Very spacious & comfortable atmosphere.

S. D.It's a country pub! Cold drinks, great beergarden, and the food is excellent though not inexpensive, but definitely worth what you pay. If you like a quirky place then consider it to be 5 stars instead. The owner runs the last travelling boxing tent in Australia, possibly in the world, and every few months they set up out back of the pub on a Saturday night. Keep an eye out for the huge sign up on the building.

J. M.Good accommodation. Rooms share the hotel bathroom however it was very clean and close to my room. Food is good and not too expensive. Wine choices are limited which you would expect in a country pub.

Every one was so friendly and talkative... Such an awesome place to pull up for a beer or a nice warm bed... Very good prices on takeaways too... Surprisingly for a very small town... An nice old fashioned country town and fantastic atmosphere definitely worth a stop no matter how your traveling!!!
p. s.Me and Diane have stayed at the Kilkivan hotel twice. The first time the service and prices were brilliant, the locals friendly and the accommodation clean and comfortable. We vowed to return. A couple of years later we rode a motorcycle from Margaret River W.A around Australia and made a b-line for the Kilkivan hotel, the second time was even better. We were lucky enough to meet the owners Fred and Sandy. It is great to meet real down to earth people who run these old country pubs. Crakow hotel one day hopefully.
T. H.Really nice pub with beautiful rooms and amazing beer garden. We went in while the kitchen is closed and the whole place is about to close. But the owner still provided us with some good food, drinks and rooms.

J. S.We had the misfortune of breaking down at nearby Tansey on our way to a camping trip. We were towed back to Kilkivan and the RACQ left us with our camper trailer in a park opposite the Kilkivan Hotel. By the time we'd set up camp we decided it was too late to worry about dinner so tried our luck at the hotel.
We were made very welcome and the food was great. Better still, when the owner heard about our misfortune he offered the use of his showers to us . We ended up staying 3 nights waiting for the car to be repaired and each night we used their showers. It would have been an incredibly smelly three days otherwise.
Overall I can't speak highly enough of the Kilkivan Hotel. Great food, cold beer. Not to mention a great Queensland style hotel with a brilliant beer garden out the back. But the best bit was how friendly and welcoming they were.
