Staying here for Quarantine. Room is fantastic - though feel I was very fortunate to get a suite. Plenty of space, kitchen facilities, separate lounge room and big balcony - you'd be fairly happy staying here outside of quarantine.
Considering it is quarantine and they have to cater for everyone, I can't complain about the food either and they're flexible with accepting requests for extra F&V and removing anything unwanted.
Interactions (as limited as they've been) with all the staff has been great and they're making an effort to make the experience as painless as possible so a big thank you.

Currently in hotel quarantine for a few days, the room is comfortable, staff is friendly and helpful, food is very good, take note of my dietary requirements in detail and serve different types of food everyday. Well done!

Even though just been here for quarantine we liked the hotel. Spacious room with plenty of space, huge TV and balcony towards the skyline and Brisbane wheel. Room was towards a side room so not much traffic. Central aircon worked great. Staff was always helpful throughout those whole two weeks.
P. W.
Here doing quarantine, it's a great room for two with a view to the city and a large balcony. Bedroom separated from the living/lounge, small kitchinette, very big TV in the lounge and a large one in the bedroom. Big comfy bed, very nice indeed.

Thank you so much to Christie & Kevin for an informative and amazing virtual wine tasting. I really enjoyed the information on each wine, region & story of the producer. The wines (Pinot) you selected I hadnt had before, so it was great to broaden my scope on all things pinot. Thanks again for making our 14 day stay so memorable.
D. T.
Rydges Southbank is conveniently located to The parklands and all that is there. Would stay again. The rooms are well maintained and reasonably priced considering the location.

I am currently in quarantine at Rydges South Bank. I find everyone here is trying their best to make our stay more enjoyable. Every week, twice a week, there is an online wine tasting available to people interested. Today I did the wine tasting on pinot noir, run by Kevin and Christie. They are both very knowledgable and picked varied and interesting wines. Thank you for that initiative. It was a very nice surprise.

Quarantine hotel experience was unique. Meal service was amazing and staff were super-friendly.

On my wife's return to Australia she was quarantined at Rydges South Bank . While there and getting ready to complete her stay and prepare for her departure back home to Perth , we had a issue arrise and we were desperate for help. I spoke to the Duty Manager Rami and he suggested a solution and even went out of his way to assist us. He is a true gentleman and Rydges should be very proud to have such a caring and professional person in their employ. Thank you Rami , from the Randell family

My husband and I feel very lucky to be quarantining at Rydges Southbank. The room is spacious and comfortable including a large balcony with great river and city views. The staff are always friendly and helpful. I have Coeliac disease, a great variety of tasty gluten free meals are being provided. My husband is happy with his “normal diet” meals. 😊

Spent 2 weeks of quarantine here. The room is nice, clean and cozy. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful, they always helped in whatever I wanted. The food was pretty good, portions are good amd tasted good. There was a different dish every day of the week so you don't really get tired of the food.
J. B.
Nice hotel, with great city views in both directions. Stayed here in quarantine and the food and drink is just excellent. Thanks for making a challenging time a bit more bearable.
K. L.
It was really lovely and clean, the food was so balanced as well.

Currently in quarantine here and feeling extremely lucky to have scored a room at Rydges Southbank. The room, service, space, and view are fantastic but I have to shout out the food and beverage team, especially Kevin and Christie! I have an autoimmune disease and they have gone above and beyond to provide food that supports my health. Feeling incredibly grateful for their generosity and kindness.

I am honored to come to this hotel as my place of isolation for 14 days. The experience of staying this day: Isolate everything in this hotel, the room is big enough, and the view is also very good; but the most worrying part is the food part. Meals are $30, and 1 day is $90. Each meal doesn't make me feel worth $30, and there are even whole meals! In the case of insufficient nutrients, at least a few nut yogurts, etc., can be made to make others aware of your intentions, instead of receiving the money without this service, I believe everyone hopes to be treated more carefully, a beautiful heart Meals may give the quarantined more hope. I hope the hotel can be better, thank you

Very good hotel in Brisbane city. The views around the hotel are very good. The staff are friendly and helpful. The hotel rooms are big and pleasant. The vegetarian menu could be improved further.
N. L.
Great place! Room had a really nice view and made the convention centre a quick wall down the road many restaurants in the area and the staff are friendly and joyful. The rooms are very clean and they were neatly presented. The hotel itself is very well maintained and you can barely find a single thing wrong with it. The pool was great but it is a bit tiny considering the amount of people that are usually wanting to use it. There were other great amenities and the hotel was very easy to navigate with very well marked hallways and elevators. Overall is just one of my favourite places to stay at when staying up in Brisbane. Will definitely stay there once again when needing to travel there. Highly suggest the Hotel for other people when visiting.

Currently spending 14 days of my compulsory quarantine. It’s a very good hotel nice room, good room service!
I Glad to be here during this challenging time.
Thank you Rydges Team

Very well run Hotel. Pleasant stay. Very organised. Comfortable Rooms. Polite and efficient staff and room service. Good vegan food too :) Thank you.

This is a great hotel. Have been in here for quarantine and the staff have been excellent. The food, service and help from the front desk is 10/10. Rooms are very nice with good views. As far as being stuck for quaratine, couldn't ask for more. Cheers
K. P. E.
Did my quarantine here, a perfect hotel within the CBD area.
J. V.
Brilliant views from our rooms. Clean and comfortable rooms with every detail showing thoughtfulness.
Very kind and friendly staff. They have been absolutely accommodating with our various needs for our quarantine stay for a family of 5 with 3 little children.
We had a lovely stay!!!

I was in mandatory quarantine here for 2 weeks (end Oct 2020), so I didn't get to experience the hotel much; however, it was as nice as it could be under the circumstances. Staff always tried to help and were friendly. The police facilitated daily fresh air breaks (walking around the pool deck) until the Covid test when you're confined to the room. I had some really nice meals and there were options for dietary requirements. Some food was not to my taste, but that is to be expected. I got the afternoon tea for $30 on Melbourne Cup Day and this also helped break up the boredom! The room was huge, clean and comfortable. I was on the 10th floor so also had a nice view of the city, but no balcony and no opening windows. I would love to come back one day and experience all the hotel has to offer.
M. K.
We have just been released from 14 days of quarantine at Rydges ... and want to THANK the Rydges team for their great service. All staff were extremely helpful and supportive. Thanks to all the team!!
S. T.
We are in hotel quarantine right now, to rid us from our Melbourne germs. So we didn't get a choice of where we were sent. We were so worried after hearing horror stories of others forced into 2 weeks of hotel hell, but have been completely blessed to have been given room 715 in this wonderful hotel. Everything from the location, views, room size and food has been superb. Our 6 year old believes we are in heaven and I don't argue with her logic. The staff are working very hard to keep their guests and themselves safe and still cared for. Everything has been excellent.
We are only 2 days in, but we are grateful and will likely stay again in the future - in a less "forced" to be here manner.
Thank you to both the Rydges in Southbank for still going the extra mile for guests, and to the QLD govt for sending my two mum and 6 year old family to such a great place.
A. S.
We stayed here for quarantine and could not be happier with the room & service in light of the circumstances.
Our room was comfortable, the view was beautiful, the guys at the front desk has great service and the whole team did everything they could.
Thanks for making our stay as comfortable as you could, and for being so accommodating.
S. T.
Great room, even if l was in Isolation for 14 days.
R. H.
I had a room overlooking the Conference Center.
My compulsory stay, due to Covid Quantiioned Restrictions was made pleasurable by the clean and well laid out accommodation, the well thought out and practical procedures, to ensure all my needs were meet, as well as the security of all was maintained.
The only comment to have helped was a microwave may have allowed my food, that was supplied, to be heated.
Otherwise, what could have been a daunting experience was made pleasurable.
S. A.
I’m so happy that I’m out of that room to be honest, been locked in there for 14 days is not the best way to experience the hotel but I will definitely recommend Rydges South Bank for your future stay in Brisbane when everything goes back to normal. Thanks you all for your hard work, police officers, military personnel and staff at the reception always nice doing their best.
THANK YOU 🙏🏾
M. H. N.
It is a quarantine hotel now, still good, roomy good view.
S. B.
Stayed here for 1 night. The room was ok and the view was great. We would of liked tea/coffee making facilities in our room but over all was a great experience. The cooked breakfast wasn’t to our likening but plenty of other choices. The roof top bar is great we have visited this several times.
C. R.
I stayed here for a conference, and it was an excellent location with the venue close by, however a bit far if you want to walk into the CBD. Room was good quality, good bathroom and probably the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in! Excellent breakfast in the morning downstairs too. I would definitely stay here again!
J. d. R.
Pros: Good value & good location. Clean & tidy rooms.
Cons: Allow 20mins on checkout for collection of your car if you park there (valet). Unfortunately we had a crying baby in an adjoining room. Not the hotel’s fault but disappointing nonetheless.
J. K.
Absolutely loved my 5 night stay here over New Years! The place was just immaculate and the service was just fantastic! So bloody fantastic of you to offer complimentary cold water out the front on a nice hot day, and housekeeping even coming back to our room after we were asleep when they first came around to offer us fresh towels or anything else we needed! Also the young girl working the bar behind the pool on New Year’s Eve had some of the best customer service skills I’ve ever seen! Also loved how close to everything the hotel was so even a walk into the city was reasonable. Thanks for an excellent stay we will definitely be back
F. A.
I visited the hotel for a conference. Excellent view from the rooftop. Really nice and caring staff. There were non-veg meals in the menu and being Muslim I and others with meal preference (Hindu, vegetarians) were offered no more than twice for such a meal which I feel was really nice accomplishment and someone was keeping an eye for such visits. We had discussed this on after the gathering.
Really appreciate the hard work by staff and management.

We are on our last day of 14 day Quarantine at Rydges South Brisbane. Whilst quarantine isn't easy for anyone we could not fault the quality of the service and the staff during this very difficult time. Obviously the hotel is not operating as it would normally but everyone has been so very helpful. Your food is delivered to your door., towels changed every three days and new linen once a week With the Covid 19 restrictions in place the hotel has a great courtyard where you can be escorted to do your daily exercise.
We were able to order in Uber Eats for a change of pace and also delivery from a local supermarket. The hotel offers a limited selection of very good red and white wine which we did enjoy. You can also order in from Dan Murphy's, they will hold the wine for you and send up a maximum of 2 bottles of wine per day which I think is very reasonable.
We wish to thank all the team at the Rydges for helping make our stay as enjoyable as possible and their willingness to help wherever possible. We have stayed here previously and will definitely be returning as a proper hotel guest in the future. Such a great location as well.
E. K.
It was not our first stay at the hotel and we were very happy again with the service.
Valet parking was great, room was spotless clean, check out was very fast. We had dinner at Bacchus food was amazing and service was outstanding!!! Very attentive staff and especially we want to say thank you to Kevin who is just irreplaceable!!!
Only one thing on downside was that check in lady was a bit grumpy and not smiling at all but it didn’t spoil our stay at all, we definitely will be back.
G. S. (.
We were transferred to the Rydges after being placed into the next hotel for Quarantine where we were not being fed.
Rydges treated us as guests rather than "inmates" and catered to our dietary needs. No request was too difficult and the room had everything we needed.
We will certainly look to use Rydges Southbank if we need accommodation for our family once it finishes Quarantine
J.
Nice hotel. Clean rooms and the balconies are very private. It’s very central to everything you will need and the valet parking service is great. Only thing is driving in to the hotel is that you have to park quite abruptly and if you go in the wrong spot you totally ruin their system. But they’re friendly about it so it’s all good
S.
The location is great, as are the views from level 12 of the conference room. The function room was good, though a little warm at times (which made it hard to focus). The staff were friendly and helpful, and the food was 8/10. The facilities, chairs, projector etc were good as well. The only suggestion I would have is change from pot of black coffee (so American) to actual pod machine.
L. N.
I stayed in a suite for a couple of nights for my birthday weekend and it was amazing! Beautiful and comfortable suite, and gorgeous view. Birthday treats were waiting for me when I got to the suite. I spoiled myself with room service and in house movies. The lady at reception was fantastic. Overall it was exactly what I needed. I would absolutely stay here again (I already have another booking). The only thing I would see needs improvement is the phone line for room service, it would usually take a few tries before someone answered and on one occasion the staff member who brought one of my orders to the suite was unfortunately a bit cranky.
M. F.
Amazing property in a great location. Huge room with super comfortable beds. Spacious bathroom with all amenities.
Mini bar pricing was a bit much and I was charged for something I didn’t take - however a quick phone call had this refunded.
Valet parking was about $40 for the night which isn’t tooo bad but also isn’t amazing price. But as were we down for a function the exhibition centre, it was within walking distance.
C. K.
We are all human! Team of legends! Rui was very accommodating, going above and beyond to take care of everyone involved in my quarantine stay. A little bit inconsistent with some things(Mostly the QPS), but again, we are all human, and no-one is perfect(yes, even you). The F&B team was as accomodating as they could be, taking care of all my dietary needs(and everyone else’s). Keep up the good work Rydges hotel. Thank you for everything. Wish you all the best.
D. Y.
Room was spacious, clean and had a balcony which allowed access to fresh air.
Hotel is situated in nice surroundings and check in was easy.
Unfortunately many of the staff have little or no idea about customer service (the exceptions were excellent but few and far between). If you stay be prepared to pull them up when they don't deliver. Would not stay again by choice.
S. B.
Room was clean, large and modern. Very nice. Bathroom tap is comically impractical but bathroom was very nice.
Valet service is understaffed in peak times and consequently very slow. Staff are very pleasant and accommodating.
Dozens of excellent restaurants are within walking distance.
Overall we enjoyed our stay here a lot.
W.
Very nice hotel. Staff was cheerful and helpful. Rooms are spacious, neat and clean. Complimentary breakfast was available. The location was perfect. I would surely stay here again.
D.
Great breakfast buffet had more than we could ever eat. Room was very comfy with a lounge and balcony. In built led tv with connectivity for iPhone and android. Staff were very helpful and parking was a breeze with valet. Would love to stay again.
D. L.
I booked as part of an event & it was hassle free. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The rooms are clean and presentable on check in and room service does a really good job during the stay. I have stayed here in the past and the service has been quite consistent. I will definitely stay again in the future!
C. P.
The hotels refurbishment of its rooms and hallways is absolutely exceptional, up-to-date and very comfortable. Certainly well overdue so this is now a top class hotel in every aspect. Hard to fault and if there was one minor problem it is that the tap over the vanity basin is not into the basin far enough making it very difficult to even wash your hands, however this was the only minor downside which is not enough to make this even a negative. Huge congratulations, keep up the excellent standard. The restaurant is absolutely first-class and the unexpected small surprises throughout the meal make a massive difference. Don't change a thing!!!

Had a nice experience here last week. Very friendly and helpful staff everywhere from concierge, housekeeping to the deputy manager. Great modern and clean decor. Very supportive of families. We had our 7 month old with us. They were always ready to help with anything asked. Good food. The only critic I can do is about the razor provided. They were not for shaving. But I would rather ignore that small irritant after having such a good experience.
T. L.
Better than average for a 4star venue. Many options for dining and reasonable room service too.. Rooms are well-maintained and quiet. Good position for access to city and surrounds. Valet parking is available, but not selfparking.

Day 1 for 14 days quarantine and first impressions - Fantastic

Very nice hotel love staying here..
F. G.
Excellent hotel for the business traveler. Front desk staff friendly and efficient. Free good strength WiFi in rooms. Desk set up has lots of plugs for charging devices and and the desk lamp really useful when working at night. Loved all the options for lights in the bathroom - lovely and bright to put your on makeup. Location excellent - easy walk to bars and restaurants.
E. M.
This hotel has everything - location, facilities and service! Located in Southbank it's excellently positioned and walking distance to everything. The rooms, restaurant and bar were all wonderful. The breakfast buffet had a huge range as well as an omelette station! The service from all staff from concierge before we'd walked in, front desk, wait staff and even housekeeping was always very friendly and willing. Great place to stay!
T. S.
From the moment we arrived we felt like VIPs. The concierge were courteous, polite and helpful. Check in was a breeze and they even had a little surprise in our room (for my birthday). View was spectacular. Our stay was awesome and the staff and service were top rate
P. P.
I found the hotel room lovely! I stayed 2 weeks and the room had everything I needed to enjoy and catch the center of Brisbane city. Impeccable service! Thank you Rydges Hotel South Bank and thank you Australia!
S. S.
Comfortable rooms. Not quite as good as I recall it being in the past - particularly questionable bathroom design. Tap sat 2cm away from the sink meaning that you couldn't fit your hand underneath, and shower drain did not work fast enough for the shower at full pressure. Good size bedroom though, good buffet breakfast option.
A. N.
I was quite impressed with our stay here
It’s right next door to the convention centre so if you’re looking for a place to stay on a business trip it’s highly recommendable.
The hotel has had a lovely refurbishment with the rooms and bathrooms being updated and decorated well. Good size rooms with a balcony as a bonus if you’re so inclined.
Nearby is Southbank along the river where you have the city beach and plenty of beautiful walking trails and restaurants to choose from.
Queen street mall is just a short stroll away
F. A.
Best shower, ever! As other reviewers have mentioned, this is a really nice hotel in a fantastic location. The view from the rooms facing the river is outstanding, especially at night. Great beds, towels, etc., etc. But, at least for me, the highlight of the stay was the fantastic shower. It's really about the enormous water pressure, which for a slow (and cranky) non-morning person like me, it was heaven. Overall, a very fine hotel, and my top choice in Brisbane going forward.
S. P.
I stayed here for 2 nights with Endless Summer Escape package. The room was very comfortable with beautiful interior, and all staff are very kind and friendly. The location is great with easy access to city and Southbank. Most of all, the breakfast was the best I ever had. Definitely I will stay this hotel again if I visit Brisbane. Thank you for your excellent hospitality.
L. B.
Amazing hotel experience. We only stayed for one night but would happily stay with Rydges South Bank again. Staff are very accommodating, rooms are clean and modern, very quiet and you can't hear the outside traffic. The beds are to die for and hands down the best bed I've ever slept in at a hotel in Australia.
S. B.
The event was well catered, But it would be nice to have some gluten-free items on the menu. The desert was also good. There could have been more food as there was never any times that the food did a full lap if the room before it ran out on the tray. Everything else was good!
M. N.
Was here on a business trip. Rented the standard room for the night. Room was great. Comfortable pillows, brightness adjusting lights, USB sockets to charge my phone among other things. The staff were nice and friendly.
Ordered the chicken wings for room service. And boooy!! It was good. Also the serving size was huge (12 wings with blue cheese sauce) and it costed only $19!!! That was the highlight.
Got a room with a view of the city. Train line ran below, but the sound proofing is sooo good that I couldn't hear a peep!
B. L.
We arrived at the hotel early, around 9am, thinking we would have to leave our bags and go kill a few hours. However our room was ready which was nice. I upgraded my room for $40 a night the day before and found a nice sized suite with all the bells and whistles. The room was lovely, we had a comfortable stay and couldn't have been any happier with it. All this for about $250 a night, great deal.
D. M.
We stayed for quarantine. I'd just say if there are any issues call through and the staff couldn't be more helpful. They adjusted our meals and resolved any technical issues we had, special thanks to Beatrice. We had a minor problem with the electricity cutting out, which is temporarily fixed by adjusting the air conditioner.
J. T.
I've been at Rydges for a few business conferences and I just love the set up. It's close to the eateries on the same level, not far to go downstairs and the rooms are all decently sized. Only recommendation would be to have a little more signage like outside of the entry doors for people hosting events, even if these signs were temporary it would make it just that little bit better.
C. C.
One of the better hotels in Brisbane - and much better than the Sydney or Melbourne Rydges. The rooms were clean and well maintained and there was a really premium feel - especially for the price paid. Customer service at both the reception and through the concierge were great too.
D. E.
Beautiful rooms and close proximity to the Brisbane Convention Centre made my work trip an enjoyable experience. The staff I dealt with were friendly and helpful. Checking in and out was very simple. The breakfast buffet had a great selection of sweet and savoury options. It was quite windy on the night I visited the Soleil Pool Bar (mostly covered open air) but the atmosphere was relaxed and casual.
V. N. A.
Loved the location, quick check in, easy parking and valet service, great rooms. Nice pool and bar but the pool was closed for maintenance, very disappointing. The staff at the pool bar was very arrogant. There were 4 people behind the bar at 11:45am and i came with my friends to have some drinks and nibbles, they made me wait until 12pm to order a beer, they didn't come to me to take the order, 4 people were just standing there inside the bar and i was the only client outside waiting to have my drink! Poor service! Not what you expected from a 5 star hotel!
T. K.
I recently spent a night here with my partner and it was pretty nice! Room was clean and comfortable, and it was situated in a pretty good location. It was within reasonable walking distance to train stations, as well as many restaurants and other stores. Staff were very friendly and treated us well.
My only minor issue was with - as someone else said - the bathroom design (it was near-impossible to avoid getting the entire bathroom floor wet while showering, and the bathroom faucet was awkwardly close to the sink, decreasing the functionality). I know it's unreasonable for a hotel to upgrade dozens, if not hundreds of rooms. But it still warrants mentioning, because these features impacted our stay.
Also, this is a very small comment, but my partner and I nave also had the pleasure of staying at Rydges in Fortitude Valley. In comparison, the FV hotel had a wider variety of television channels, and an easier process of connecting to wifi (not that Rydges South Bank was particularly difficult, it just had more steps).
Anyway, as these, were only minor issues I've still given a good rating. I really enjoyed my stay here, and wouldn't object to staying again.
T.
The location is good and the room nice, well updated, and spacious with the amenities you'd expect from a hotel of this class. I found the bed was comfortable and bathroom well appointed.
So why a mediocre rating? Mostly because we felt deceived by the advertising. When we booked, we decided to upgrade to a room with a "River View" because it was our last leg in Australia together, and wanted to book a more special room to enjoy. I think the difference was something like an extra $100/day. Unfortunately, as can be seen in my photos, the "river view" was mostly of the back side of the building across the street. After we saw the room, my friend went downstairs to talk to guest services, but they were mostly unsympathetic about it and offered nothing for our disappointment, so we stayed in the room. They did say we could come back tomorrow and ask them again if we still wanted to move by then. But really, who wants to unpack all their stuff, just to repack it all again the next morning.
They did allow us a late check-out, and otherwise the room and location were nice, so I'm giving it an "it's ok" rating. -2 stars for what felt like deceptive advertising.
E. L.
My daughter treated me to hight tea . The food was very nice. I did think there were to many sweet things on the trays , personally I prefer more savoury food, we had some sweet food left, small cakes and asked if we could have them packed to take home for my grandaughter and was told no. Guess they thpught it was a hygine problem.
The service was not great
we had a nice glass of bubbly when we started and no one came near us again untill we waved a waiter down for a top up of water.
We had vallet parking and when we went to pay for that, were told that we could not pay for it via paywave from the phone
I ended paying as I had some cash on me. I do not think this is a 5 star hotel, but thats the reason for the 3 star rating.
K. M.
We had a wonderful stay. The only thing was when we checked in we were not made aware of the inclusions of our package so we ordered what we thought was provided for free only to be told that we should of called down to reception after arriving to our room. I think Reception Staff should advise guests of their package inclusions and how they get their entitlements upon check in, rather than leave the guests guessing what to do?. We were given a child's meal free upon check out, but I was not happy that we were not informed. Besides that the room was clean, comfortable and beautifully presented. Room Service was awesome. Love the Rydges Priority Guest Rewards, as it offers so much more than other hotels.
J. C.
Attended a wedding hosted at the rooftop room of Rydges and the view was spectacular, could see the whole city from the room and that really made for a special night. The facilities were clean, food was good and the space was fantastic. Would love to come for another event again!
R. P.
Looking for a nice location with simple yet well appointed rooms (the big screen TV was a nice feature). No fuss but service is there if you want it. I like their green approach, not only can you forgo daily cleaning, but you get a bonus food voucher for doing so. A bit of a bottleneck at the lifts for checkout times, but overall pleasant experience.
d. t.
I was here for Quarantine period...
Good place, specious and clean.
they provide food as per your diet. Veg-nonveg.
Outside food and beverages allowed with no contact delivery...
Not much experience of service because of covid restriction.
S. K.
I can't say anything thing about the service, we were quarantined in this hotel and the QLD Gov was paying for it. However, the rooms are nice, with quite modern amenities and wonderful views of Brisbane river off the balcony.
S. S.
We spent 7 nights there. Good staff. Good room cleaners. Clean rooms. Good lighting and all chairs beds fridges tv's worked well for us. View was ok. But you do not spend time sitting around in a room. Welcoming was good as was the good bye. Free wife once us two oldies had it worked out. 2 good places to eat. Pool and gym with towels. The gym equipment all worked. Very busy with conferences. Good position in relation to a great food area and water play gound or park. Just a 10 minute walk in to city shopping centre
5 minutes walk to train station 6 minute walk to grey st bus terminus.
We walked every where as low humidity and temperature was perfect. 2to 9 of April.

I will start off with the positives from by Breakfast Buffet experience at Bacchus.
Staff were exceptional, Pete was the one I interacted with the most, top bloke who makes a great hot chocolate.
Food quality was really good, but there just wasn't enough for the price I paid compared to other posh restaurants I have visited.
I probably would have said this was the greatest buffet ever had I not been to others similar to this.
$41 is what I paid, I paid $39 for the Breakfast Buffet at Thyme2 at Sofitel and that buffet was twice the size and because of that they could offer twice the amount of food and variety.
Because of my past experiences I expected more, maybe my expectation VS reality meter was set too high, I don't know but either way I give this place thumbs in the middle.
I definitely won't give it a thumbs down because of the quality of staff and food.
A. C.
I've stayed here before and enjoyed the location for it's convenience and the neighbourhood.
I arrived early and the room wasn't ready - which is standard for hotels, but staff were welcoming, and after a reminder at 2.00, were able to give me the room key.
Since my last stay, the rooms have been refurbished and are of a very high standard.
The restaurant was full and a table not ready for 3/4 hour, but the hostess made an effort to get me seated earlier. As usual, the restaurant service was excellent and the food very nice indeed - with exciting and innovative flavours featuring.
On returning to my room I discovered a complimentary bottle of wine had been left - and I greatly appreciated the thought.
I recommend Southbank Rydges to anyone who tells me they are coming to Brisbane. A high quality stay.
K. K.
Comfortable beds, great facilities. Easy access to Convention Centre. Concierge very helpful. Valet parking is great, but very expensive and no option to self park available. Meals are always great. Housekeeping staff are always friendly. We always enjoy our stay at Rydges.
N. A.
A quarantine review... front desk always helpful. Food on the whole not too bad. They really tried under difficult circumstances. I would return as a paying guest.

Absolutely amazing staff. Clean and tidy room, Soryn at reception bent over backwards to get us an extra night's stay at short notice for an incredible price. We will be back!

The Baccuhus restaurant located on the first floor of Rydges is one of the most well appointed places in Brisbane
The menu is filled with luxurious flavours
And occasionally a visiting chef of great notoriety will put on a degustation option
I have always found that service here to be very attentive particularly the bar staff and their knowledgeable approach to cocktails
With a visit particularly for a special occasion

It's a very nice hotel to go through and stay at. Even though I came here for a business seminar in one of their seminar rooms, you can tell that they've kept this hotel neat and tidy. I've been to other hotels and Rydges South Bank is up there with their facilities and services. I'm even considering staying here to check out their hotel rooms and experience their services.

Overall a lovely stay. Check-in was quick & easy. Our room (Junior Suite) was huge & very clean with a terrific view over South Bank. Our bags which we dropped earlier that morning were waiting for us in the room. The microwave & coffee machine were a bonus, although it would have been useful to have seen these inclusions on the website beforehand, and for there to have been bowls as well as plates in the cupboard. We took advantage of the $10 credit for no room cleaning which I thought said was to save the impact of chemicals, however I would really have liked to still have my bed made daily and toiletry & coffee supplies checked & replenished as needed. We didn't park at the hotel because the cost is much too high. Will definitely stay again.
M. T.
Very nice hotel room, well situated at one end of the South Bank. Easy access to the parks as well as the bridge to the Queen St Mall. Internet access is a bit pricey, but works very well. Swimming pool is an odd affair, on the deck next to the big bar/restaurant. It's a small pool with no spa, and seems to be made more to pose alongside rather than swim within. Room was clean, spacious and comfortable, however, with comfy beds and nice bathroom. Staff were friendly and courteous. Overall, a nice stay at a fine hotel.
R. W.
this wasn't my first stay, but this time was very special for personal reasons.
i received a great room at check in, and there the good feeling usually starts.
looking for a place to dinner, i went walking up and down Grey street, but couldn't make my mind up. So i went back to eat at the hotels restaurant The Bachus.
i have never seen such an extended and full of quality wine/spirit menu total outstanding, the best from around of Australia and around the world.
food was great service not far behind, all in all a very good dinner choice.

A fabulous hotel in the heart of Southbank. Great modern rooms, facilities and service from the front desk through to the conference staff. A well fitted gym with spa and sauna. The outdoor pool bar is fantastic. I highly recommend staying at Rydges Southbank.
M. D.
Great Hotel. Great views.Excellent facilities definitely worth a bit more than 4 stars but 5 has to be reserved for the very very best. Staff were excellent, smiling and willing . I knew about the valet parking but there are few city hotels that have that luxury. Proximity to Southbank and the Botanical gardens was a real bonus to go for a 3 or 4 km walk along the
river and over the Goodwill bridge and through the Gardens and back to the hotel
T. M.
I stayed here with my husband and daughter and we LOVED the experience. Room was clean. Stayed in a recently refurbished room on level. We found all staff we encountered extremely helpful and friendly. Big hat off to the lovely lady that I believe was ***aging the breakfast shift there.
R. B.
I booked one night on 26th January in a Superior Twin requesting a view if possible. I had a little trouble finding the entry from Grey Street but on arrival our room was as good as the site image, very clean and worth the star rating. As in all hotels the mini bar was missing stuff but I always check them. If you want to stay close to South Bank you could not find a better location and the ferry was just across the park. We also got our requested view which I hope you can all get to enjoy.
S. G.
The staff were amazing!! Did anything they could to make our stay more accommodating. Rooms and lovely and clean, highly recommend staying here!
E. B.
I stayed in a superior Queen room with my wife and 2 kids. The room was very clean tidy and roomy. The sevice was excellent and the weekend family deal was great value. My only complaint would be that the beds were a little springy, but overall a great experience.
M. D.
It was a great experience except for a few things. I found the bathroom to be quite small for a suite and the balcony very plain and not a very 5 star experience. Also the bed and the pillows weren't the most comfortable. But I am being really picky because I have stayed at other 5 star venues. Other than that it was a fantastic experience and a great stay.
L. B.
Great valet service, Central location and check-in experience.
Rooms are nicely appointed and quiet.
Aug18 update: there is an adequate gym here with the usual treadmills, rowers, cross trainer. As well as free weights to 20kg and a number of cable machines.
King suite is definitely worth the upgrade if you can afford it and would make for a excellent weekend away.
Again, a great check-in experience and valet drop off, however the valet return took quite a long time (2pm Friday).
CBD bar downstairs offers a different menu than room service, so if looking for variety be sure to give it a look.
S. B.
Location was perfect! Walking distance to restaurants, venues and public transport. Staff where friendly and helpful. Rooms were comfortable, clean and had everything you need for a night stay added bonus for the phone to tv sharing.
T. M.
The location of this hotel was perfect for us. ***y tourists drive in Australia as the distances are big and public transport, though good, takes up a lot of time. Staff at the Rydges clearly understand this and met our needs to an excellent standard. My hotel room on the seventh floor was amazing.
D. C.
Great room. Had the Queen Deluxe room with views over Southbank and the river. The pool bar had a diverse group of people. Staff were incredibly friendly.
L. M.
My clients were a wedding party of 10 with their own food platters. Probably going to a private room. I expected a concierge should have been st the outside front desk to meet and greet. Clients were left waiting outside under cover to be admitted. Thus not five stars. It is a modern clean impressive building with adequate driveway space for arrival of guests in cars and Limousines.
T. M.
I was lucky enough to to have a larger room. The location is very good, with easy access as mentioned in ***y reviews. Price was exceptional considering the location. Would definitely stay again at the Rydges as it ticked all the boxes for a comfortable, convenient stay in the lovely and thriving Southbank area.
M. G.
I stayed 5 nights at this hotel. Good location, very well entertained, spacious and well cleaned rooms. Service is quick and always on point. Good speed free internet WiFi.
Restaurants and bar on the first floors, swimming pool as well as a beautiful roof top.
J. D.
If the quality of the buffet breakfast determines where you stay, you MUST try Rydges! It trumps every buffet brekky we've ever had, and the coffee is exceptional. We stayed an extra night so we could do it all again. Indulgent I know. The staff are efficient and super friendly. That barista, honestly, she's special! If I ever have my own coffee shop, I'm poaching her. Well done!!!
I. F.
HQ Photo Booths have done photo booth and flower wall for several events (maybe 5?) at this location. Staff are always very friendly and accommodating. Function rooms are very very nice, and the upstairs function rooms have a beautiful view of the city. Would definitely recommend if you have a wedding or big function to organise.
A. K.
Want to thank the team here at the rydges hotel, you all did an amazing job. We did our 14 day isolation here and the service was just amazing. Thank you all so much we will be back.
A. K.
Just love staying here.....from the time you walk through the door you are given a warm welcome by reception......CBD bar offers a fabulous choice of food and a great selection of coffees and wines and spirits. The suites are amazing everything you need including beautiful views of the city and river. Attention to detail is outstanding. All the staff are friendly and nothing is a bother to them. The choice of breakfast in Bacchus is fantastic. Staying here again this weekend. Great base for sightseeing.
M. B.
Lovely clean rooms. Every staff member I interacted with was super friendly and very helpful. Price to stay for two nights quite expensive. Great location. Valet staff 10/10.
B. C.
We were staying overnight as we had an early hospital visit at LLCH, and being from out of town, this made it easier. My family and I had an excellent stay - the room was beautiful, comfortable and extremely clean. The service we received at reception and valet was magnificent, accomodating and friendly. We felt that for the quality of the stay we had, including the location to local attractions, we definitely got value for our money. We have a follow up hospital visit in 6 months and will be staying here again. Top marks all around
P. O.
Very nice. We were at the poolside Bar Soleil. Very classy ambience. Non existent service. The waitress who on the only occasion we saw her asked us for our order shortly before we left and declined to remove the empties on the table.
Prices were city prices. Not outrageous. Not cheap.
Quiet for a Friday afternoon. Might be a good place to go if you're in Southbank.
M. B.
Great location with short walk, train or bus to City and a shorter walk to Southbank Parkland Precinct with all it has to offer. The staff were very helpful. Buffet breakfast was very good and priced at 2 for 1 paying $40. Room was well appointed and very clean.
T. M.
I usually stay at this hotel when in Brisbane as it is in a pretty good location. Good size room with additions of sink and microwave. At over $285 for the room only, I thought it a tad expensive and would not have paid that much normally. Every staff member that I came across was helpful and friendly.
T. O.
Our stay was impressive! The best part was we were booked in to the Venue in the building behind for a show, what a lovely surprise to find that there was direct access through from the back of this Hotel, straight in! Then straight back after the event no worries! I love this Rydges! Can’t wait to return!
T. W.
Super easy access to the convention centre.
Great to see such a large hotel chain implementing green initiatives. I chose to not have my room made up for a couple of days and ate brekkie for free. Also great to see them supporting brands with reduced packaging and not animal tested. Room was comfy
T. M.
Highlights: Location- 2 minutes walk to Southbank, helpful and smooth reservation process, spacious room, modern and lovely, numerous amenities including nespresso.
Lowlights: Spotty room service, slightly bumpy check in, housekeeping skipped us one day. Our room overlooked a train line, but was high enough that with the balcony doors shut, it wasn't very loud.
In a nutshell: We would highly recommend Rydges and will absolutely return.
More Details: Beatrice in reservations was tremendously kind and helpful and sorted out a last minute cancellation for a second room we reserved.
Upon check-in the front desk were told that our suite had no view of the fireworks, which flipped me out, since the reason we upgraded to a suite was for the "partial" view. She told us they were sold out and there was nothing that could be done. Once in the room, the guy who delivered our luggage said that while we were in the , "bottom tier of the suites'" we should indeed have a partial view. So, after a couple of hours of fretting, it turned out the receptionist was mistaken, and we did in fact have a perfect view. Surprised our suite was considered a bottom tier suite, since the room was HUGE and absolutely superb. Gorgeous bathroom, kitchen, grand living area, etc. We were very comfortable and the fold out sofa was grand for a 6 year old. Our family came over for the fireworks and 6 of us sat around very comfortably!
We ordered food (on New Years, to be fair) and it was not good, at all. Wrong order, cold, soggy, and not inexpensive for what we received. We asked the woman who delivered the food if she could bring tomato sauce for my daughter's fish and chips and were disappointed when she basically told us she didn't have any and wouldn't be getting it for us. When we pressed the issue she said she would try. Never saw or heard from her. So, my husband ended up getting dressed and going to the café to get it himself.
All in all, a few hiccoughs on a crazy hectic check-in day, but fabulous hotel in a grand location.
J. T.
Nice hotel. Can't comment on rest of facilities because I went there for a uni alumni canapés thing in one of the function rooms on the podium level. Staff were pleasant and mostly quite young. Good event, nothing went wrong.
M. B.
Rooms were quite spacious on level 1. Staff very friendly, offering me a bottle of water when walked past the front desk after coming back from a walk. Easy checkin and check out. Room aircon was effective and quiet.
T. B.
A school formal is a perfect activity or even a reception for this amazing hotel with a view. Great central spot with full concierge service and stylish furniture present in all parts of the hotel. I recommend using the hotel for functions or stays at the hotel.
P. K.
The high tea was disappointing as it was mostly sweets and I am a savory person. But I was an invited guest so didnt say anything. It would be lovely to have the option to choose. The service was excellent and the place is beautiful.

Great room... Awesome view. Very clean, and classy. What a spot... Definately will be back!!! Restaurant breakfast was a bit sub par though .
D. B.
Breakfast spoilt just a bit from excellent to above any average in worldwide hotels.Position and service can't be faulted.Rooms excellent.Little really to fault except restaurant coffee machine failing to make what when it works is really nice coffee. Numerous people on our stay were equally irritated.
Staff did their best to help but they could not hide their frustrations too.
C. O.
Stayed here for one night prior to a wedding in the area, and reception on level 12 of the Rydges. Rooms were large a well kept. The restaurant below is okay, though next time I would eat elsewhere. All in all a good location.
P. U.
Lovely hotel, very pleasant staff and a fantastic location. The gym is small but well equipped. 2 mins walk from the piazza and hundreds of other bars and restaurants.
S. M.
Clean, modern and great location, but after my most recent stay, last weekend, I would hesitate to return here any time soon.
The noise of revelries in the streets careen off the building walls and through the thin windows of the suite clashing in the ears of the patron trying to get some sleep. Likewise the building itself creates squeaks and slams that reverberate through each floor.
Housekeeping disregards ‘do not disturb’ signs and insist on entering your suite to check the mini bar while you are getting dressed. It doesn’t matter that you didn’t use it, ‘I just have to check’.
Valet parking is usually a luxury, but our encounter left us a bit jaded. Perhaps due to the overwhelming overflow of cars parked down the length of the sidewalk the valets were not in good spirits, as on return of my vehicle one had performed, maliciously, some minor vandalism to the interior. Small things like peeling away the encasing of the gear shift and chipping away a piece of plastic, of which I’m yet to find where it originates. Minor things I know, but to pay $45 per night and entrust my vehicle to them, it’s nice to know they are respectful of your property and will take care of it.

This place is great! the best location to stay for anything happening in Southbank.
Great outdoor facilities around the pool with lounge like area setting, with a slightly obscured view of the city due to being only on the second floor, but still has that rooftop inner city feeling, with a great night time atmosphere, but lacks actual sun chairs for during the day by the pool.
The “pool bar” is not what I would call a true pool bar, but the bar is conveniently located right next to the pool.
The rooms have a style and elegance with a modern style of mood lighting for any occasion, and great desk space and power points in all the right places.
Other features and my favourite a great lcd tv at the end of the bed with a fairly well designed media interface featuring over priced movies but makes up for it with wifi or bluetooth connection for all video/audio streaming and hdmi input for gaming or laptops, but the control lacks the simple features such as a TV guide or the ability to turn the brightness of the screen down, so if you like having a screen on all night it’s like a lighthouse in your room.
If your room doesn’t have a balcony then your view is not of the city so the only reason to open those blinds is for lighting.
The aircon is great the bathroom shower and water pressure is all up to par.
Concierge parking only, so no parking your own vehicles onsite yourself, so if you don’t like other people driving your precious and not knowing where the hell they parked it and not having access to it without a phone call then tough luck.
They claim to have a heated pool, but that’s clearly not true from what I felt, they do have a nice jacuzzi but unfortunately is located within the gym and has no view like the pool dose.
Overall a great experience and will definitely say my choice to stay at for anything happening in Southbank.

Perfect place to stay while in Brisbane. I was traveling to Brisbane monthly for work and stayed a couple different places. Once I stayed here, I didn't turn back. First off, the hotel smelled amazing. I know that sounds kind of odd, but there was a subtle roses scent throughout which I enjoyed. The rooms had beautiful views of the Brisbane River and it was very walkable to everything in Brisbane - shopping, restaurants, riverwalk!
K. J. T.
Fantastic hotel and service. We will definitely use Rydges in the future. The service desk was so helpful. The rooms are clean and really well set out. They even let us check out at 1pm. We had a great experience.
J.
10/5 stars if I could. Our AirNZ flight was cancelled last night due to engine issues so we were booked in here for the night. The staff were so friendly and welcoming, they weren't phased by the bulk amount of people that rushed in and they were super clear and attentive to every single customer. Considering the flight situation was not ideal the Rydges staff definitely helped to make the best of a bad scenario. I WILL be back again. The cali kings were insanely comfortable too.
G. E.
I recently had to isolate for 2 weeks at Rydges Southbank coming back from PNG all your staff were absolutely faultless ,the food was of a high standard and i was asked if it was to my liking and was it enough i have done the isolation 4 times now and have never had that level of service and food standard let alone been asked if it is all ok .There is all bad publicity on the isolation in Australia but the people at Rydges Southbank need to be congratulated and appreciated and if i have to stay overnight at Brisbane i will be going to Rydges Southbank
Thankyou very much

I attended a 3 day conference at Rydges and enjoyed the experience.
Our function room comfortably accommodated the 100+ attendees. The staff were professional and discreet and provided regular drinks and meals without creating any disturbance.
The venue is close to parking, South Bank and Brisbane City and most areas can be navigated on foot. If not using Rydges' own parking, I strongly recommend the Little Stanley St car park (literally around the corner) which offers Early Bird parking for only $16 per day (in before 9:30am, out before 6pm).
FYI that I opted to drive home each day and therefore can't comment on the actual accommodation. Several colleagues, however, did stay overnight and had nothing bad to say.
K. S.
The food was simply delectable, wine just amazing and the service impeccable! Thank you Christie and team :) marvellous flavours with just the right infusions. 3 complimentary courses of pallet balances (celery and vodka, gin sorbet and I cannot even remember what heavenly starters we had so check out my photos) - all to satisfy your whole dining experience. The carb and ravioli were favourites if I had to choose. Truly a night to remember and definitely will be back!

I recently stayed at Rydges on Swanson in Melbourne while I was on holiday for a week or so and it was a very disappointing stay, to say the least. I had heard that Rydges was a fantastic hotel so I was slightly confused, but wanted to stay a second time at another establishment just to be sure. WOW was I surprised when I stepped foot into South Bank Rydges! The lobby was clean and shiny, and staff were wonderful and all greeted me, as well as the check in being fast and easy. The horrible experience I had at Swanston was still in the back of my mind as I walked into my room though, but as soon as I swung that door open it all disappeared. I am the type of customer who will look for faults in a room, it's just the way I am, and needless to say I could find NONE! Your housekeeping staff have an eye for detail that I admire and the room was absolutely immaculate; the impression was good enough that I was about ready to book a second night and extend my weekend! I ordered room service at some ungodly hour and the response was prompt and fed my craving for potato wedges thoroughly. For the price that I paid at your hotel, I feel as though it was an absolute steal. This hotel was an amazing experience from start to finish and I would've happily paid more.
I'd like to thank all of the staff that made my experience at Rydges as great as it was this past Sunday night, and because of them I will be a regular at your hotel when I go out for a few drinks and need accomodation.
M. S. R.
Rooms r good. Staffs r good.
Location is good; close to CBD, bus and train.
Parking / drop off is a problem.
They charged me for keeping my bag in the locker for few hours only; many hotels do this free.
P. H.
Had a great stay here. Very convenient location for all the facilities at South Bank and the Cultural Centre, including a wide range of bars, restaurants and cafés. The hotel is well presented and the rooms are large and well presented with all the facilities you need including a kitchenette.
T. M.
Hotel is well positioned to Southbank and the convention centre. The room was spacious. It's right across the street from dining and the parklands ***** the Brisbane River. The location on Southbank is perfect and the views at the front and higher floors are great. The buffet breakfast was very nice.
T. M.
The food in their café on the ground floor was stingy (not much) and has become very expensive for what you get. Closing the balcony doors only cuts half the noise. The location is indeed very convenient. I complainted to the front desk ***ager who didn't offer any solutions or options.
C. R.
We stayed in a river view king suite which my husband surprised me with for my birthday. My son slept on the sofa bed and my baby slept in a cot which Rydges were very accommodating with. Room was spotless and very modern. Would definately recommend.
P. P.
Travelled to Brisbane for conference at Brisbane Exhibition Centre and the Rydges Hotel was ideally located next door. Easy check in, comfortable room and good breakfast selection provided for enjoyable stay. Good selection of places to eat and drink in hotel and Southbank surrounds, and river short walk away. Overall enjoyable stay
P. W.
The rates are reasonable. The rooms are modern and comfortable - especially the bed. The staff are helpful and professional. I love the 'Going Green' concept. The Soleil bar and pool area is awesome. We will be back!

I came to stay for 1 night for a business trip and had an excellent experience. Really nice rooms and great service. I wanted to give a shout out to Kait for being so lovely during the check in process :)

Rydges Southbank is centrally located and has a beautiful ambience throughout the hotel. We held our Indian-themed reception in the Podium Ballroom and it was the perfect space for any luxury event small or large. The ballroom is huge and has beautiful champagne pillars, gorgeous chandeliers and high ceilings. But what exceeded our expectations was the staff! From our Wedding Coordinator (Bec), to the Chefs (Justin & Laura) and the F&B staff (especially Zara). They all came with a gold standard in terms of hospitality and they really listened to what we wanted. It was a pleasure working and building our dream Reception along side you all at Rydges.
Rydges @ Southbank - should be booked for every Ethnic Luxury Wedding as their preferred choice of venue!
Thank you so much Rydges
A. A.
Small things made my day. I thank you for this wonderful initiative, which pleased me. I appreciate that. Thank you again 💙💙

Love staying here, always fantastic service whether it be from the concerige, reception, bar staff or in room deliveries. Huge rooms, amazing clean & had the best lounge chair with foot stool. Didn't want to leave me room to sightsee💟💜💟

Went for High Tea at Bacchus and expectations were very much exceeded. Food was delicious and well presented plus our waiter was happy to answer our queries. Really informed and professional, I think his name was Kosta 10/10 would recommend.

Have regularly stayed in all the Brisbane Rydges Hotels, however our overnight on Friday 12 October at Southbank was one of our most memorable. Smooth check-in and check-out and bonus upgrade allowed us to experience a suite which was just fabulous. The room presentation, decor, provisions, appearance was very impressive; so much so we just had to open that bottle of bubbles in the fridge to celebrate our arrival and our upgrade.
S.
What a fun funky place to visit. I have stayed there quite a bit and really enjoy the entire place to the fullest. Excellent pool bar area and cant get a better selection of drinks in the South Bank area. Check it out, for a modern chic place with a great feel this is the place to be.
C. H.
Our room is on a corner and although the view is mainly of the Convention Centre, the room is wonderful. Separate lounge/bedroom, wonderful bath, fantastic shower. There is even a microwave, which is really handy, and a sink in the lounge/dining.
S. K.
Nice and modern, with good sized rooms... You can use Chromecast with the TV in the room which is also a bonus! Centrally located with plenty of good places to eat nearby given it's in the heart of Southbank. Good pub downstairs which also helps! We got a cheap rate when staying here which was great value if you're traveling for work, but I'd think twice if I had to pay RRP out of my own pocket. Still highly recommended...
K. b.
Great location. Very comfortable room. Breakfast is very expensive so we took opportunitu to eat out! Wide variety of eateries within 5 mins walking. Beds are amazing. Staff helpful. We took our bikes which they held for us. We come back each year
P. B.
We have stayed twice in the last two weeks and the hotel looks so much better with the rooms updated and new carpets and decor around the hotel. Our first room had some toiletries that were part used and left for us, not acceptable in a hotel of your standard ! There was a chrome bracket in the bathroom that we could not work out what it was for until we stayed the next time and realised the soap dish had been missing. The loo paper is cheap and you need to upgrade the quality. At our second stay there was no full length mirror anywhere in the room. Having said this your staff are friendly and very efficient particularly in the downstairs cafe/bar, reception and concierge area. We will certainly stay at Rydges again when visiting Brisbane. The hotel has a good atmosphere that we have related to many friends.
T. M.
We thought it was a great idea. There are facilities in the room for coffee making, even a microwave. The close proximity of the river and the ferries was a bonus. Location of the hotelExtremely near the train service and a multitude of restaurants at Southbank. Best feature is the proximity to the conference centre.
J. Z.
was on a business trip. The room and service were both good. Left my charger in room again. The room service department helped to look after and shipped to me. Great!
H. V. D. C.
Stuck here in quarantine for 2 weeks. WiFi did not work as promised. Difficulty undersanding the reception staff from time to time. Very expensive laundry and room service.
D. B.
I like this bar. Was really lovely ambience, great music in the background, and the staff was very helpful. I felt the drinks were typically priced and the cocktail list was extensive. Would definitely go back again.
B. W.
Convenient location to access South Bank attractions. Rooms are comfortable. Only complaint would be the bathroom sink. Looks good but with the tap nozzle being so close to the side of the bowl unless you have tiny hands it's easier to wash them in the shower.
K. L.
Good sized rooms, rooms are well set up. Free wifi and helpful staff.
Good location near the convention center with an easy connection. Short walk to boardwalk on the river if you want morning exercise.
M. W.
As soon as you set foot in the hotel the friendly staff are there to help every step of the way. The cleanliness (and smell) was faultless and everything was kept neat and tidy. The quality and variety of food at breakfast was great and again the staff couldn't be more helpful. Situated in the midst of Southbank and right next to the convention center you couldn't ask for a better location.
M. B.
Had an event here in July. The process from initial contact with Emily from the events team all the way through to the night itself was an excellent experience. The team on the night were very professional and prompt with the service of the food and drinks. They solved a couple of little issues that cropped up on the night with zero fuss. I would highly recommend an event here.
L. K.
Clean, modern and great location I was there for work and I was really impressed by their service and the room quality. I visited there twice, first time I stayed in their suit room (has proper work desk, snack bar, massive couch and 65inch TV to relax and enjoy, also has about 55inch TV in the bedroom, immaculate clean bathroom with seperate shower and the bath tub) and second time was with a room with own balcony where I could see beautiful brisbane river with Ferris wheel. Conference area was really comfortable and spacious as well. It was so each to get around, there are many great restaurent nearby and hotel food was great too. I will definitely stay there whenever I go to Brisbane.
T. M.
Located right in the middle of Southbank makes Rydges the perfect place to stay. Easy access to South Bank attractions & restaurants. I loved the elegance of the place including the rooms, the restaurant and the bar area. The city itself was very clean and we felt very safe.
R. T.
Fantastic hotel... Rooms were lovely and the beds sooooo comfy. Best service at the CBD for Breakfast, even though there was only 1 guy on, he totally nailed the whole service.... Highly recommended.
j. p.
A place near lot of eating out. A wonderful bar with a plentiful of cocktail and mocktail. Open air bar with hip hop music is place for hanging out. Rooms are perfect for business travelers with basic amenities.taxi uber is perfect for local conveyance. Most amazing part is the weather is awesome especially in the morning enjoy the wind drift

Stayed for Supanova in November 2015. Loved the fact that the hotel is attached to the Convention Centre, made it very easy going back and forth. Hotel was lovely, very clean, staff were friendly and helpful, food was great. At the time I went the hotel had started doing renovations to some of the rooms (did not interrupt my stay at all), excited to be back in November this year again for Supanova (room is already booked!) to see the updates and have another thoroughly enjoyable stay. I'd recommend this place to anyone.
T. M.
I have just spent a week here and have had a wonderful stay. We used the parking service and felt welcome from the moment we arrived. There was a vague view of the city, although the train line was right outside my room so it was sometimes a bit noisy.
B. S.
Stayed only one night in one of the suites. Room was very spacious and had great furnishings. Loved that the TV units both had easily accessible USB & HDMI ports on the fronts. Bathtub was wonderful addition as well. Free WIFI provided also a plus.
A. G.
Good location near the CBD, waterfront view, wide and clean room. Brilliant toproof view. Price wise is acceptable. However more variety in breakfast menu is needed. Lunch also missed the vegetarian options.
N. B.
With pleasure my review has been changed thanks Amy for your assistance I really appreciate your phone call. The hotel is a beautiful place to stay great location and great food provided in house for those who would rather not venture out, room service is fast and always great. I look forward to staying again in the near future

A little pricey but staff are very friendly and couldn’t have been more helpful. Location is great and rooms are clean and tidy.
E. S.
Great service at front desk, staff were friendly, room was nice I loved being able to have room service and it was convenient for me and my husband as we were attending the comic con at the convention centre next door. Thank you I enjoyed stay.
P. S.
Very comfortable accommodation and extremely convenient to the convention centre where I was for a conference. Friendly staff and well maintained facilities. My room had a balcony which was great for open air.
S. B.
Good restaurants and bars. Close to transport and Southbank. Clean and well run by professionals. My key gripe is the lifts. If you need to go up or down you can end up waiting for more than 10 minutes.

This is our first time back to rydges after the upgrade and have to say we were incredibly impressed by the changes. Glamorous rooms which felt spacious. Bathroom was wonderful and loved the nespresso machine and milk frother. We had a a wonderful break and as soon as we got home, booked another stay in 2 months time
e. g.
Always stay in Rydges when we go to the city for a show. The beds are lovely and comfortable the restaurant serves great food and the staff are always very pleasant and helpful. It is also within easy walking distance to everything, would highly recommend this hotel.

The staff that go to your room and give you goodies and bring you ice etc. are wonderful. They brought me two tea pots with peppermint and Chai tea in these little boxes that were so lovely (extra mile stuff) and then when the other guy came to give me the ice I told him how deliscious the Chair tea was and he went out of his way to find it for me and bring me more. He was awesome and i didn't get his name, but appreciated it so much. A great hotel - clean, good location, and great customer service. The front desk customer service is good too but I really feel that the ones running around doing everything like room service, concierge, etc. are the BEST.
A. P.
I stayed here for work for a night. The room was quite comfortable and spacious and the staff is friendly. Nothing too fancy but very convenient.
C.
Amazing location - easy walk to all the art galleries, museums, The Big Wheel and rail + ferry services across to the Brisbane CBD. The main South Bank area is just across from Rydges as well as all the main restaurants and public underground car park. Rydges has no guest parking other than valet parking which is $45/day. Room was good but several things were broken/not working and with 2 tiny miniature cups hardly worth trying to make a cup of tea. Staff were really good & very helpful so I would still recommend it on all its good points - hard to beat the great location.
L. v. N.
Great service from the midday weekday staff, with fantastic product knowledge and drink preparation and presentation. The seating was a bit dishevelled, which brings the otherwise 5 star rating down to 4, and I wish I could give 4.5 in this app as that's what it really is worth.
D. B.
The hotel was centrally located in South bank. Had good access to local facilities. Room was good size and had all the facilities that we needed. Staff were helpful and friendly. Hotel was neat, well kept and clean.
C. M.
Spent New Years Eve at a function on the rooftop bar. View was spectacular, service was awesome, drinks were free flowing! Only issue was there wasn't enough seating for the size of the crowd they let in. This means everyone was fiercely protective of any seating they got their hands on - people wouldn't share their tables or chairs. Not a super pleasant environment when you're spending $200 for a ticket.
J. Y.
Clean and spacious rooms; had room 727 with a lovely balcony. Staff were helpful and efficient. downside; only three lifts and can be delayed at peak hours.
J. M.
Always a pleasant time when staying with Rydges. Not our first stay with the hotel in Brisbane and definitely not our last! Beautiful room as always and exceptional service from all staff.

One of those hotels that you're most likely to visit if you're going to a conference and the business is footing the bill, which is a shame as it's actually a good base for exploring Brissie.
Right on top for the Southbank entertainment and restaurant precincts and only a short walk over the bridge to the CBD, I'd have no issue with staying there for a short city break. I was there for three days on a B&B rate and have no complaints.
So, if you've read this far, you're probably thinking about staying there and want the key points...
Rooms - It's a city hotel, it's close the entertainment hub and next to main roads and the train station so it can get a tad noisy - ask for a room higher up - I did and they put me on level 6, nice and quiet (better chance for a decent view as well as a bit of peace). Decent flat screen tv with very basic foxtel although the HDMI-in didn't work on mine. Clean, well maintained room with above average bits and pieces: 2 x queen beds, safe, kettle with tea and coffee, iron and board, plenty of storage, mini-bar that wasn't shockingly overpriced and, most importantly, desk with enough power.
WiFi - Free and not bad for a hotel service. reliable and fast enough for HD video streaming. No problem with using my VPN provider
Staff - No problems. Front desk staff helpful, knowledgeable and polite
Pool - yes, technically there is a pool but I have seen bigger Jacuzzis. Don't expect to do laps.
Food - Better than average breakfasts in the Bacchus restaurant; my kids would have loved the pancake making machine when they were younger and I'm so going to copy their potato and spinach rosti as an alternative to hash browns. I only needed room service once and it was very good - piping hot food inside of ten minutes - I doubt that it would have arrived faster in the restaurant. Poolside bar does a mean margarita although I might have been less tempted if I'd realised beforehand that it was going to be $22.
Overall? It's a big, concrete, chain hotel. Comfortable, clean and efficiently run. High on convenience lower on charm.
Tips: Unless you're a sound sleeper, try to avoid rooms below level 4. If you're attending the conference centre, there is direct access across a private shared plaza at the back of the hotel. Main access to this is via stairs next to the Bacchus Restaurant - but get someone to show you the quicker way via the service door on Level 2

Clean, modern, spacious, and easily accessible to the north bank. Airconditioning in our room was a bit lackluster and needed servicing. Easy check in and out process. Could use better amenities in the bathroom.
R. W.
The room was very quiet, clean and comfortable. Staff were helpful snd friendly. We asked for an upper level room to avoid road and rail noise and were put on floor 2 which is our only complainr. But as the room was so quiet this mattered little.
S. T.
Great location. Event was well organised and run. Food was delicious, and the staff were lovely. The conference room was huge and the amenities were close by. Good choice of venue for an event.
T. H.
Stayed here over the weekend, as we attended the race out at doombin and this was our choice of accommodation. Easy to find, great location, and super convenient with so many Uber’s around! As for the hotel, good service, as we got back late and had 3am burgers which were bigger than we expected and so flavoursome best thing after drinking! Overall I’d highly recommend staying here plus if your a qantas frequent flyer, your able to acquire points or use points to stay!! Win win if you ask me!
R. B.
Lovely hotel and great staff, as the aircon system was new we experienced a lagging issue which took at least 24hrs to fix with multiple conversations, which is completely understandable but relatively irritating. The staff comped us one night for free, as a result of my partner writing a long, polite complaint letter requesting a discount due to the issue.
N. N.
Very posh hotel and excellent room set up. 3 different eateries in one building for most range of the budget. Recommend highly for business trips.
T. D. P.
We stayed earlier in the year and were a little disappointed. This visit was much better. Staff were friendly and inviting and the new renovations have regenerated the tired rooms. Overall a very pleasant experience.
A. I.
Courteous staff saw me quickly checked in with a complementary upgrade. The room was clean and tidy, large screen TV, free WiFi. Great position next to Southbank with access to lots of restaurants. Very happy and will be returning
S. H.
Beautiful hotel and great location. Comfortable rooms and heaps of hot water!
Valet parking overpriced but comparative to other local options, but being from out of the city we found it quite expensive as an extra.
Our hire car was also damaged but Rui has been amazingly helpful and prompt with his emails sorting it out.
A. F.
It was a large spacious room and a large bathroom. I had a nice view from my room. I asked to have the minibar emptied and was told it would cost which is just ridiculous. The bed was fabulously comfortable. My TV stopped working for most channels one day into my stay. Plenty of desk space, power points and space in my room for what I needed. I needed to leave my suitcase in the hotel overnight while I went on a one day trip and they were happy to look after it, it was returned to me safely.
Also Lots of Poké Stops near by and lots of Pokémon. Caught a Growlithe and a Slowpoke down near the river and a Jigglypuff on my hotel bed.
J.
Bacchus is a beautiful restaurant with amazing and friendly staff. Dinner and drinks for my birthday with the family and they made it so special and took great care with dietary requirements. Thank you ♡ Highly reccomend to all.
C. S.
Nice room but poor service. The operation didn't flow as if the front desk didn't know what the housekeeping was doing and the car parking was slow and confussed. We had a King suite decadence package which was supposed to have sparking wine and hand made chocolates in our room but they weren't. We call down to tell them but nothing happened for over an hour. We decided to have a cup of pod coffee, a highlight on the website, there was only 2 pods, not counting the decaf one, and the milk in the fridge had been opened. We called down again to request milk to be bought with the drinks and chocolates. 2 hours after we arrived the wine and milk arrived but no chocolates. Half hour later the chocolates arrived. The package was the most expensive suite package but our room was next to the gym, so instead of getting a sleep in we were woken at 6am by what appeared to be someone playing bocce with the free weights. The banging stopped around 8am so I tried to get a nap only to be woken by housekeeping asking when we were checking out. Our package included a 1pm checkout! We also joined the rewards program but our name on the membership card was misspelt and we never did receive a new one when leaving. All in all a nice room but poorly organised and run hotel.

The Reservations team and the Concierge were amazing for my engagement proposal in room 1126 on the night of river fire, everything was perfect down to the last detail and I couldn't have done it without the help of all the staff. Great view, great service and a very happy guest.
J. E.
The room and facilities are really good, having attended a conference at the convention center the location and access was excellent. On the downside there were a number of areas where service needs significant improvement.
Reception on check in was given very little information, I heard the receptionist who was serving someone else tell the guest all about the dining options, breakfast etc & where the pool, gym etc were located. But I got nothing when I asked I got one word answers. Figured I needed to work that out for myself then.!
I dined in the room each night for dinner and ordered breakfast each morning. The first dinner took close to an hour to arrive, I ordered breakfast at the same time. Next morning no breakfast arrived when I chased it up now running late .. the order was "discovered" and delivered. Second dinner arrived in better time but was luke warm. Next breakfast ordered via the door knob, and it arrived the next morning and on time. Third dinner order took well over 40 mins to arrive and again was cold. Ordered breakfast again for next morning via door knob order. No breakfast arrived when I check the door knob order had not been taken ? - so again running late rang to order and thankfully arrived quickly. Last dinner order was the pizza sadly very disappointing hardly any topping, luke warm and basically unappetizing. I decided to order breakfast which by the way was the same each day just a fruit platter, at the same time as the pizza which did come so I had breakfast ready for the next day. The mini bar was restocked only twice I think, but not all things replaced.
On the upside ! Concierge was excellent, very helpful. Receptionist on check out was very good. And over all I found the facilities and the room really nice.

Stayed here with my family, when we were in Brisy for My Fair Lady and we loved the new outfit! It has been years and it was getting quite old but it was just lovely. The beds are great. Food and room service is still great but a bit dear. We will definitely be coming back next time we visit QPAC for a show.
S. F.
Nice place, well maintained and friendly staff. Breakfast was excellent. No problems at all. I would stay here again.
I. M.
We arrived late on a Thursday night. We had luckily pre-booked a table at Baachus (the restaurant). Not only was the food superb but the service from JB was excellent. I hadn't eaten here for 3 years and the Head Waiter remembered me. I was suitably impressed!
The room was spotlessly clean.
We then thoroughly enjoyed a lazy breakfast the next morning. I truly believe that this is one of the best buffet breakfasts that I have ever had. If you get the chance to "do" breakfast here. You won't be disappointed.
Excellent effort Rydges South Bank.
S. R.
Room is very comfortable and has all necessary features. Not many options for parking apart from valet. Restaurants are great, heaps of options. Hotel is located close to public transport and South Bank, very convenient to city and other restaurants and conveniences.
A. P.
Attended the degustation Chef Valentino Marcattilii at Bacchus. Service and staff was perfection. Attentive, friendly, and quality. My felt welcomed and well taken care of. Food was unlike I've had before. This event was well worth it, and a one in a lifetime experience. Each course really showed the expertise of these well known chefs. I cant wait to come back. I think I may need to get a room so I can just sleep well afterwards :)
O. R.
Very pleased with the hotel and the service provided. Arrived at the hotel early to try my luck and check-in. I was provided with an early check-in which made my work trip hassle free. The service throughout my stay was very enjoyable and I would happily stay at Rydges South Bank again.
L. G.
There was nothing that they would not do to make our stay relaxing. I was even able to take my assistant dog. The staff understood what it meant to me.
T. M.
Rydges is well located next to the Convention centre so perfect for my recent business trip. The hotel is situated in a good location handy to everything at Southbank & a short walk over the river to casino & queen st mall etc. I don't often write reviews but our night was so good I wanted to share.
T. B.
Just spent 6 nights here. Absolutely loved it. Great location, great service, great food. Bed super comfy. Will definitely be returning.
h.
Absolutely incredible. Clean and well presented hotel rooms; delicious buffet breakfast; friendly and welcoming staff. Loved the whole experience
C. B.
Rydges South Bank Brisbane is made up of big, spacious, clean and modern rooms. Would have to be one of the nicest hotels I have stayed at. In the heart of South Bank, close to the ferry terminal, it really makes for a great stay - whether it be overnight or for a longer period. Friendly and welcoming staff. I would definately stay again and recommend to others :)
G. B.
I recently visited Bacchus at Rydges for high tea for the third time. This is the best high tea I've been to in Brisbane. The food selection is excellent (they cater very well for vegetarians) and the unlimited tea is great (try the 'Paris'). Bacchus has a great atmosphere and the service is fantastic. Definitely recommend high tea at Rydges!
K. L. C.
Great service and well furnished rooms. Loved it. They also encourage their customers to go green with a few incentive vouchers and that's great! The breakfasts are sumptuous
I. M.
Fabulous place to stay. Customer service great. Facilities great. Location great.
M. R.
Lovely destination. Staff were awesome from the reception to the barstaff to the concierge and waiters. The room was very comfortable and clean. We will return. Also very convenient and close to great restaurants. Southbank. QPAC and the convention centre.
W. S.
One of the nicest hotels I've stayed in recently, and I travel a lot around Australia. Great location with connected access to the Brisbane Convention Centre, excellent large rooms with excellent facilities, Brazil cures of Brisbane city over the river and super friendly and responsive staff.
B. S.
King suite was superb. Coffee pod machine. Big suite with seperate bedroom and kichenette. Pool area had a bar and comfortble deck area with snacks available all day. Close to restaurents and the river. Would stay there again.
F. A.
Good place found service little poor.
Pool area was closed for private do
Did not get told ares were off limit s till in rooms . Did not get discount.
I think thay could of told people when first arrived .
M. S.
The restraunt at street Kevel had excellent coffee. The pool side bar on the podium no so good. Better to go down stairs. The furnishings and fit out were faboulus and he seminar room. Was adequedte. Quite offer air con is an issue in these rooms however it was comfortable all day.
Had a little trouble iniyaly finding the lift and getting off at the right level. The concierge did tell us however he spoke too soon before our brains were ready to receive the information.
T. B.
The Renovations have brought this hotel from trying to be 5 star to being 5 star. Especially when the room renovations are completed later this year!
Fantastic breakfast, great bars and location.
Only disappointment was that, when told the bar closes at Midnight and we turn up at 11.30ish the bar was closed.
S. M.
Spent a day here for an event. Facilities are very good. Crisp, pleasant atmosphere. Courteous, professional staff. Great place for work or leisure.
L. F. W.
Superb location, ideal for business or pleasure. Convenient access directly to the Brisbane Convention Center. Comfortable rooms with all the amenities. Connectivity extras such as direct USB charging, HDMI, media sharing, etc is excellent. Solid, strong wifi. Unusual in hotels and airports. Fantastic dining options. Overall a pleasant stay.
J. C.
The great location and well appointed building is starting to show a bit of age, but still just worth a four star rating. A little disappointing to find a shower over bath in a room that cost over $200 / night but everything else was pretty good.
Buffet breakfast in Baccus is definitely not worth the asking price but is ok when included in a package price.
J. R.
We love this place. Location is perfect, staff are fantastic, can't fault it.Vytar in the CBD cafe was outstanding and we would like him to get regonitiion for his great service. The checkin staff were also fabulous, but unfortunately we didn't get their names, but they should be commended. We wouldn't stay anywhere else in Brisbane.
B. M.
Travelled to Brisbane for a concert at the Exhibition Centre and stayed here for 2 nights in a river view room. Fantastic location for restaurants and sightseeing. Had breakfast in the hotel cafe downstairs both days and thought it was great value. Brisbane CBD is a 20 minute walk across the river and we spent the day walking the whole CBD & Southbank areas. The river view room was modern, clean and very quiet. Would definitely stay here again.
J. L.
The view is amazing, good food and the layout of the rooftop venue for a wedding reception is perfect. The combination of sunset views and city views makes for a memorable night.
H. H.
Great place to visit and go to functions. Staff are very attentive and everytime I have been it has been clean, well setup and efficient.
I totally recommend coming here for either an event, a drink or a night. I look forward to returning
S. R.
Went to the Soleil upstairs bar for a social event in the reserved area, was really pleasant and all the staff were friendly and helpful and the catered food was delicious. Would definitely visit again and recommend to anyone looking for a classy venue for small to medium size events
T. M.
The Southbank location is fairly convenient for things like the Museum and the new Gallery of Modern Art and is a 15 minute stroll into the CBD. We had the fan on full blast and turned to the coldest setting yet we ended up sleeping with just a sheet covering us every night. In fact all the staff were great.
N. B.
The room was clean and attractive. The bed was fabulous. We had the best breakfast and a late checkout. It was a memorable stay we will repeat.
K. G.
Such a lovely hotel to stay at. Rooms are great. Staff are wonderful. Can’t do enough to help. Would love to stay there again.
A. O. A. R.
Rooms were clean, and staff were friendly and professional. The events and the facility was well organised and prepared. Overall a very enjoyable experience.
M. F.
Have stayed in many Rydges hotels in NZ & Oz, but this one is the best so far. Great location, very handy to South Bank and the CBD. Beautiful rooms, can highly recommend booking a room with a view overlooking Grey Street. The Soleil Pool Bar is stunning and a great place to relax, unwind and enjoy life. Very helpful and attentive staff.
N. W.
Things were not what you would expect when staying in a 4/5 star hotel. We were in a king suite and couldn't get internet even when it was offered free. TV could not see the guide and it kept on freezing and had to turn off and on again all the time to change channels.
N. N.
I was sick last night with food poisoning I had cold food we put in a fridge. We in qurantine days 7 now if we have microwave in the room will much different (room no microwave)staff good and helpful, room is clean We know it not easy this stage everyone working hard thank you.
H. S.
We had a really good stay this time; they have renovated the interiors. They are very organised and friendly. The breakfast is really good and filling. The location is perfect if u r planning to walk around the cbd and the south bank area. Also there r lots f restaurants nearby

A high-quality 'boutique' hotel experience at a reasonable price, tucked away in a busy corner of Southbank. Recently refurbished, the suite amenities include free wi-fi and the ability to charge your mobile devices directly from high / low voltage USB sockets in the wall, as well as easy-to-use Bluetooth connectivity with the media setup.
You'll pay $30 / night for concierge parking, which, just quietly, can swing you a free late checkout (we got 1pm) as they seem to be keen to let your car stay out of the way to beat the rush..
S. S.
Pretty good, nice rooms with good aircon and block out curtains. Friendly staff, lobby has a strange fragrance but that's a personal opinion.
P. H. (.
My favourite hotel in Brisbane. Great location for a holiday in Southbank and a short walk to the city. Nice rooms and friendly staff. Breakfast is excellent.
j. 1.
We had a high tea for Mothers 90th Birthday. From the valet parking to the service upstairs at Bachus, all was 5 star excellence!
Highly recommended 🙂
S. M.
Great location friendly staff and a great hotel, much nicer rooms since the last upgrade and very modern. If you're looking for a place around Southbank you won't be disappointed here.
B. R.
Check in was painless and warm, the lobby area inviting and lively. My room was spacious, modern and comfortable. It's been a great experience.
R. W.
Dinner at Bacchus was lovely, with good service and very interesting food. Although expensive it was a different and exciting experience. The complimentary tasting plates between courses were also a nice addition.

3 friends of 45 years revisiting their teenage times by attending "Beautiful. The Carol King Story". Rydges South Bank made it memorable with a fabulous room, exceptional service and the perfect location for QPAC. Pre theatre Champagne in Soleil, the roof top bar was an excellent way to start. Albeit a little chilly the numerous heaters made for a cosy experience. A 5 minute walk had us at the show with time to spare. Walking home saw us having a nightcap in a bar close to the hotel. Quite a few in this buzzing area.
Breakfast was outstanding! So many choices with friendly staff bringing your freshly made coffee.
Thank you for our tasting plate of handmade chocolates to commemorate our " Beautiful" experience.
All 3 of us have now changed our previous Brisbane hotels to Rydges as our destination in the CBD.
We will be most definitely recommending it to family & friends
J. V.
Great hotel with pool bar and everything u could want. Love the location next to convention center, cultural and muesum precinct. Good service too
A. S.
A luxurious room with great toiletries, coffee and tea facilities,2 huge comfy beds, big TV and lovely bacony. Staff amazing ♥️
D. “. M.
Love this place, its got fresh Cafe, lunch & awesome pizza, cheap coffee, so much better then the other hotel we stayed last time, only cause this was booked out @ time, this place has gr8 disabled access, gr8 service & love this hotel, central to everything & quiet, pool, even with chair lift for wheelchair access to pool, bar near pool, breakfast is amazing in the main area near pool, u pay per person & c can eat anything & however much u want. So much more to say, but so far my favourite in Brisbane!
J. C.
An exceptionally upmarket opportunity to relax while catching the best shows Brisbane has to offer. When you want to be pampered, this is the place to go. The people are fantastic and look for every opportunity to make your stay worthwhile.
D. M.
Very friendly right from the first phone call when booking in right through to being hand our keys from the valet on departure. The free room upgrade as a 'welcome back' was much appreciated. Will be coming back!
P. D.
I phoned to book in late in the afternoon, giving the information that we weren't far away. Approximately 15 - 20 mins later I was at reception, the young girl couldn't find my booking so she went off through a door and I waited, finally she came back and asked if I had only just booked in, yes I had phoned through not long before coming in, oh so off she went again, then this time when she came back a phone rang and she answered it, spoke for a few minutes and went off to deal with whatever the phone call had been about, the man next to her asked if I was okay and I said I wasn't sure, he said oh she will be back and continued serving more people. Meanwhile someone came and put a piece of torn off notepaper on the reception desk which I could see had all my details on it including my credit card number. So this time when she came back I drew her attention to the paper and said there are my details. All this time I had found it extremely difficult to understand anything she said due to her accent and soft voice. Finally she had me on the system and asked for my email address, I said it is on the piece of paper. I was by this time pretty annoyed at the long wait, difficulty in understanding her and at seeing my details on a scrap piece of paper. Surely in this day and age bookings are input straight to the system while speaking to the person. Did I want two keycards?? yes I did, I noticed that the man beside her had not once asked this question of anyone but automatically given them two. Finally on our way up to the room, opened the door and the bar fridge door was wide open, hence the fridge and its contents were room temperature, I could not be bothered alerting the staff. Next morning we went to have a cup of tea, there was either black tea or chamomile!! I drink Earl Grey, a fairly common tea. The black teabags looked like they had been around for a few months, my husband persevered with a cup but after one sip, poured it out. Absolutely disgusted with the choice and condition of the tea bags. Lets have a cup of coffee, oh wait there is only three pods and one of them is decaffeinated, should have brought our own Nespresso pods so we could at least have a decent cup of coffee. On the up side the bed was very comfortable and the location is great.
J. S.
Enjoyed staying here. Great location and great service. Downstairs cafe has great food. Very clean rooms and a valet to take care of the parking
K. B.
One of the best locations so close to the city and everything Southbank has to offer. Beautiful new rooms and welcomed with a complimentary upgrade & late checkout .. exceptional service once again thanks
A. B.
Rooms are modern and the location is fantastic of you are doing anything around South Brisbane (i.e. Southbank). Service is quite slow which is by far the worst part of the stay. The restaurant Bacchus is amazing and the pool bar is decent.
B. T.
Food at the sit down event was highly regarded by the table, however the biggest quip was with the Soleil bar. Drinks were very dear, and a number of options on the menu were unavailable. Staff however were knowledgeable and willing to suggest alternatives
C. Z.
A bit sterile as happens in a business hotel, but it was very comfortable, the service was attentive, the gym was pretty good, and the spa pool looked very appealing.
T. M.
We treated our parents to a Christmas Eve overnight stay at Rydges South Bank prior to attending the hotel's famous Christmas day seafood buffet. Night is about the most I'd really think it is worth. Short walk from South Brisbane train station if you take the AirTrain. The gym has decent equipment: Life Fitness which is quality.
G. H.
Great location. I was upgraded to the baby suite. No way I could complain. Room service. A few steps from restaurants and entertainment. Valet parking.
A. G. U.
Room was great except for booming noise from pool area sat,/sun nights we did not find staff friendly at all breakfast expensive as was valet parking
A. B.
Stayed here just after Christmas.
Well positioned and the view of South Bank and the river from the 10th floor was stunning.
Very clean and spacious rooms, nice decor and free WiFi...😀
W. M.
The hotel is located close to South Brisbane train station. 5 mins walking distance. Resturants are all around there. Friendly and helpful receptionists. Room is clean and in good size. Comfortable stay!
C. Y.
Perfect location! Loved both the service and the hotel. Just gave 4 stars because there were renovations being made at that time ...BUT definitely will be back!👍👍
A. S.
From front desk's suggestion to swim at the hotel pool or Park Land's man made beach instead of the dirty Brisbane River, to the breakfast each morning, to the increase in room occupancy at the late hour plus the special access to Brisbane Conference Center - everything was grand. Next time me and my son will remember closed shoes and long pants so we can enjoy the degustation.
P. P. D.
Nice hotel arrived and we were given a standard room but had booked a superior, we were moved into a superior when we called reception, expensive breakfast and evening meals better to take a walk out to the array of restaurants and cafes on the south bank...room nice size and clean
J. U.
Location is great and the rooms are nice, if a little bare. Didn't have much to do with the staff but from what I saw they did their job well.
T. M.
We stayed at Rydges in January 2014 and would recommend this hotel to anyone. Walking distance to Brisbane Mall and right across the road from Southbank precinct. Very conveniently located next to the Brisbane Exhibition Center which made …
C. S.
I stayed at Ridges for a work function. The room was very clean an the decor was beautiful. The customer service was fantastic and the food was incredible. Highly recommended.
D. B.
Best location on Southbank. Do yourself a favour and request room 1115 for the best views in the house and a wonderful belcony. Close to restaurants and the beach. Short walk over the bridge to all the CBD has to offer including the botanical gardens. Very comfortable and clean. Staff are friendly professional and helpful. Have stayed here twice now in recent years for special occasions. Would not stay anywhere else when in Brisbane. Can not wait to come back.
L. S.
My girlfriend and I had a great time there, rooms were clean and we were very comfortable. At the end, however, we find out that there is some surcharge for using mastercard, and after we paid cash, they held our money for way too long.
S. W.
clean, neat and tidy room
Bed very comfortable, restaurant a bit expensive as well as the room service fees and charges
Valet parking
G. W.
Upgraded to a nice room with river views. Bathroom was nice and seemed to be recently renovated. Beds are very comfortable. Checking staff very friendly.
W. S.
Really good facilities and friendly staff. Room Was amazing and was lucky enough to have our room upgraded for free due to our anniversary.
V. M.
Great facility. Good rooms and clean, Restaurant serves good quality meals (breakfast and dinner) and poolside bar.
B.
Haven't actually stayed there but interactions with their staff have always been extremely pleasant and hey if the origin team stays there it's got to be good! Plus the meat there is amazing
N. R.
Nice hotel - good pool! Love the green policy of a $10 food voucher for skipping the housekeeping/sheet change etc for multi night guests!
T. M.
Checked in this afternoon, as a treat on our final night of holidays. Great location for Qpac. We dined at a nearby restaurant Christmas Eve (there were ***y to choose from) and our parents woke early Christmas Day to leisurely wonder through South Bank before our thoroughly enjoyable festive lunch.
A. B.
Great location, and an excellent function room with easy access via external stairs. Always very accommodating to media needs. Good table service.
M. D.
Ohh one of the great venues in Brisbane fro a night out.. Great location.. view and set up.. Live music ( with a disc jokey and trombone player) .. Cosy seating class and elegance..All in one place

Very nice hotel and a great location for restaurants. Staff were helpful. Rooms very well appointed. New and modern.

Again another pleasant weekend stay at Rydges Brisbane Southbank, from the Valet to housekeeping and all the team members between, all happy and nothing was too much, albeit we needed little.
Breakfast was great with lovely ambiance, night function on the 12th floor was great with the superb views of Brisbane river and city, and the food was wonderful, in taste and presentation and the staff again were happy and very helpful.
Again well done Team Rydges Brisbane, we will see you again

Comfortable accommodation and great location, however walls are very thin, you can hear every door close in your room from the hallway and the bar on level P can be quite noisy on a busy night.
P. I.
My 17 yr old daughter and I went for our first"Grown up getaway" we loved the Ridges South... from the view to the beautiful pool to the beautiful hotel.Woolworths is only 100mtrs down the Rd and tram station...loved it

As part of the Dental Assisting & Beyond Conference planning committee, we requested a room with a view of the city but that didn't happen! In past years the conference has been held at the Sofitel, so when we chose Rydges this year we expected that the the service would go beyond the call to look after us in the same manner we had come to expect from the Sofitel. We know that everyone can't have the city view, but when a big function is booked and a special request is not followed through, it is disappointing.

The rooms are beautiful and a great location. Staff are not very friendly; not bad just not trained at the level you would expect for such a hotel
Y.
Great conference venue. Rooftop was beautiful for dinner function, with amazing views over the city. Delicious breakfast buffet options.
T. E.
I've been here twice for 2 separate conferences and both have been a great outcome. Not sure what it's like to stay in the hotel rooms but the venue for events is top notch.

Enjoyed my stay in a huge corner suite with two 55" flat screen TVs and separate living room. Comfy bed and lovely modern and clean decor

Great staff, clean room, great pool however pool closes at 6pm. They have a bar by the pool. Many Restaurants very close by. Great buffet breakfast.
C. E.
Clean, well serviced and in a prime position to enjoy South Bank fine dining, although we found the hotel restaurant to be of equally high quality and not as noisy.
W. M.
Hotel is well located in easy walking distance to restaurants and river walks. The staff are friendly and helpful. The room was clean, quiet, spacious, and comfortable.

Nice place with great view

Lovely rooms and pool area. Great service and very accommodating staff. Good location for restaurants and river views.
J. W.
I spent three nights in the very comfortable and accomodating Rydges Southbank Hotel in the central city. The room was very comfortable, the service unintrusive and the wireless performed faultlessly. Would recommend for people conferencing or working at the Brisbane Conference Complex
J. P.
Great location close to everything. Great service. Lovely rooms and the bed was unbelievably comfy.
J. D.
Should have checked the reviews prior to booking. Rooms are very tired especially the bathroom . it's like they started the renovation and ran out of money. Staff very friendly though.

Rydges South Bank Brisbane is the best way to view the fireworks at Riverfire 2019, on the balcony facing the Brisbane River and South Bank the planes were there - they were that close you could touch them. Loved the whole night.
D. M.
Very convinient location near the exhibition centre at South Bank. Surroundings are nice with the river and the beach area, with a lot of restaurants and cafes. However, I couldn't use the swimming pool in my one week stay due to organised events at the pool bar.
E. M.
Very clean, presentable. Wonderful air-conditioning especially in Brisbane heat. Great location and view from the balcony.
P. C.
Had a dinner function for work at Rydges South Bank. The food was excellent and the staff were exceptional. The view over Brisbane from level 12 is wonderful as well.
A. S.
Nice and clean hotel. The smell in the lobby was amazing....friendly and helpful staff too. Conveniently located.

Amazing hotel. Great staff, comfortable beds, and centrally located. It's only a short walk to many food choices and activities.

Had to cancel stay due to flight being cancelled. The Senior Duty Manager went out her way to help and refund. Very stressless experience. Wish i could say the same about the airline.
E. &. J. D.
Surprisingly very nice, but a bit uncompetitively priced. Awesome location. Pricey valet parking only, so better if you're without a car. Attentive service.
S. H.
Great hotel, staff are helpful, beds are extremely comfortable, as are the pillows. It's location is ideal and there are plenty of great restaurants close by.
J. F.
We love staying here, the staff are lovely and excellent service. Rooms are always clean and we will always stay at Rydges anytime we are in Brisbane. 😁
S. K.
The hotel room was amazing, the staff were lovely and the food was really good. The local area is also great.
C. C.
Very comfortable rooms. Friendly and helpful staff. Close to great restaurants and stroll around South bank with city views.
L. Y.
Location excellent and staff were friendly and efficient. Room was fine. Doors slammed a little and so were a bit noisy.
M. B.
The room was large, clean, had a great view of the river and the service was great. Highly recommended.

Fantastic, most comftable beds, modern, large screen tvs, they go the extra miles to make your stay the best. Great choice of bars and restaurants

I've eaten at this restaurant many times and it is one of the best in Brisbane. Awesome wine selection. Very knowledgeable staff. It's expensive but you get what you pay for in this world.
I. D.
Very nice specious room. Great interiors! Good facilities altough the pool was closed and spa under maitenance.
K. H.
Conference facilities are good. Lunch was nice. Front of house staff are 5 star. Helpful and kind.
S. B.
Went for work function. Food and drinks service was very infrequent, not ideal when you had to skip dinner to make the meeting on time and then have to sit through a quarterly sales presentation sober...
K. V.
Went to a event at Rydges, it was great! I am impressed with the staff, when I wasn't able to eat the canapés going around the staff without my asking went and made some specialised dishes for me. I'm very impressed
G. T.
Drinks and dinner. Superb service and the food was fantastic! The staff were very friendly and the atmosphere was relaxing. Very enjoyable night.

Third time we've stayed here, great location, excellent rooms, all amenities .Friendly helpful staff .

We always choose to stay at Rydges South Bank when traveling to Brisbane. The location, amenities, quality and cleanliness are what you expect when deciding on accommodation away from home. It is always at the top of our list. Cheers Craig & Lara Argent

Fantastic place to stay for the theatre and Southbank. We stayed with 5 people in each room, was plenty of space in the room, warm pool and spa.
R. F.
Amazing central location for families on holidays, corperate clientele here for a conference or someone new to Brisbane looking to see whats on offer.
Staff are always ready and willing to ensure your stay in Briabane is the most comfortable it can be.
T. M.
Rooms facing west are cheaper. Tiny Bathroom SEE END OF REVIEW FOR TIPS LOCATION: Rydges South Brisbane is in an excellent location just a few minutes stroll from South Brisbane railway station where trains run to and from the airport frequently. There is no chance of an early night as the noise from the DJ is extreme.
C. A.
Had after conference-drinks at the pool bar. Staff were well mannered and attentive, food was tasty and area was well presented and clean.
D. B.
Great hotel, good facilities, poor execution. Sheets not tucked in, nowhere to hang towels other than directly above the toilet. Great location.
D. “. S.
Great location, close to QPAC, GOMA, southbank etc. Rooms were cosy but very well presented. Beds are amazing. The Restaraunt downstairs is awesome and room service is great.
M. M.
Can't wait to go back, close to everything, perfect for families.
Would give it 6 stars if every stay was as good as the last 😊

I love this hotel. The staff are awesome, rooms are great, beds so comfortable and food at Bacchus is wonderful.
K. S.
Went to Bacchus for the dessert degaustation. A first time for me and a pleasant experience. Was definitely surprised by the quality of desserts. Would go back to try the dinner degaustation next time.

Nice and close to the convention centre, train station and restaurants. There are a couple of convenience stores nearby and good coffee downstairs at the CBD Bar. Easy trip by taxi to/from the airport.

We were there for a conference the whole thing was seamless and the staff fantastic helping us with all our gear. Really went above and beyond. Have another conference later in the year looking forward to staying again!

Stylish venue with function rooms for a corporate event. Nice bar area and all catered food was quality. No onsite parking however.
J. B.
Room was fantastic, staff were knowledgeable, beer was full of bubbles and the kids loved the pool. Planning on re visiting very soon!
D. T.
Event rooms are OK but technologically speaking the room does feel old. Speakers cut in and out and projectors arent great
R. F.
My partner and i arrived early, and was informed that our room was ready and very efficiently given our keys,so that we could unpack and relax before we went down town. The room was perfect for us and had everything you needed .As our flight the next day was early evening,we rang reception and asked for a late checkout, and it was granted without a problem. The staff were all pleasant ,will go back when next in Brisbane.Thank you.

Had the 7 course degustation with my partner last night. Absolutely superb. Can't wait to go back, the wine pairings were brilliant.

We had a function at the poolside and was advised that the pool was for hotel guests, however the pool side staff said different. If you go there for a function please take your togs

Second stay this time around - and it's better than the first! Clean rooms, great facilities and the river views are killer!
C. A.
Fantastic hotel. Real nice modern rooms. Well kept. Very friendly staff. Very good price.
P. W.
We had high tea at Bacchus. The only good staff member was the French waiter who went out of his way to help after another staff member made a booking error. He actually cats about the customers.
F. M.
Location is great, close to all amenities. Room was large and luxurious and service was warm, friendly and courteous
A. K. P.
Excellent location, great facilities, well appointed room and friendly staff. Flew in early morning and they organised an early check in without much hassle.
j. n.
Was there for a corporate party. Service and food was average. Some of the service staff was kinda rude or looked annoyed for some reason. Other than that everything else was good.
S. A.
