Fantastic boutique hotel. Walking or riding distance from everything. Great shower bed and room. Excellent service, only complaint not a smart TV or any pay TV options ot TV instructions or guide. Will use again if in Canberra

Very comfortable, great bar and restaurants. Breakfast in the Cafe was over priced and fairly ordinary.
B. L.
Great hotel super clean and convenient location. My only minor gripe is the bed is quite hard and uncomfortable to sleep on.
J. R.
Great modern, urban style hotel in Kingston. Appreciated the late checkout. Will stay there again
b. k.
Cool hotel, superb staff, good atmosphere, seperate bar, cafe and restaurant on site
J. A.
Love this place: great location, staff and really fun rooms!
K. B.
Perfect hotel for families. We stayed in a two-bedroom apartment. It was very spacious with a separate living/dining area. There is a sliding door separating the bedroom from the living area so the adults can stay up while the kids sleep. There is a small balcony with a table and chairs which made the room feel open and fresh. There is also a great kitchenette (stove, toaster, microwave etc) and a washer/dryer. Reception staff were very helpful (thanks Olivia for moving us to a bigger room when one became available!). Good dining options and you can order drinks and room service from the bar and Italian restaurant. Great location, close drive to all the sights and walking distance from some nice cafes and a small supermarket. Couldn't fault our stay!

Stayed here three nights in March 2021. Super lovely location walking distance north to the lakeside and to Manuka. Also, convenient parking, a nice cafe and delicious Agostini’s downstairs. Our room (perhaps most rooms?) had a balcony; amazing! Friendly staff. Highly recommended. But seriously, please upgrade your free bikes. ☺️
M. B.
Great Breakfast very relaxed atmosphere.
Highly Recommended

You won't find a place with better value. Top quality apartments, clean and modern setup, access to great food options just downstairs, free bike hire for adults and kids, and in a top location (walking distance to Kingston shops, the Foreshore). Parking is $10 per night which is great to have.

I would usually give 5 to 10 stars but this visit is 4 stars.
Service great as always but disappointed in housekeeping.
Same sheets on my bed since I checked in Monday
My bottom sheet has a stain of unknown origin and bin in the kitchen has no liner .
J. G.
Self contained apartments are stylish and have everything you could need. One of the big ticks is the staff are extremely friendly and helpful, you can tell they enjoy their workplace!
P. F.
Dinner for 12 at Agostinis, Rests resteraunt, excellent food and service.
L. M.
Well priced stylish hotel conveniently located to lake walk, restaurants and cafes, galleries and the library. Food amd drink venues are lovely with the cafe incorporating an interesting bookstore.
K. L.
I've stayed in a lot of nice hotels and must say, the East Hotel is towards the top of my list. From the moment you enter the lobby you notice the excellent vibe. It was very modern and trendy, but not pretentious. Offered a welcoming staff, some really cool little restaurants and awesome chairs/couches to hang out if needed. Plus some great music playing lightly on the background. The room was awesome too. Definitely stay here next time you're in Canberra.
K. W.
Excellent Service and very funky hotel
S. W.
Very stylish and spacious rooms. For the quality, the room rates were excellent value. Staff were also very good. I will be going back.
A. S.
We stayed in a one bedroom luxe apartment which was well set out complete with kitchen, washer and dryer. Situated in a great location and easily accessed, parking downstairs is a breeze. Shops are nearby as are plentiful restaurants. There's also a wonderful restaurant onsite, Agostini's, which is exceptional. My only complaint would be that housekeeping was a little irregular and inconsistent and could pay a little more attention to their task.
N. O.
Pretty good market, with variety of shops. Good to see food from various countries available. Cheese burek very nice.
M. D.
Well located hotel with friendly and efficient check in process. Great coffee machine in the kitchen and all amenities are modern, clean and functional.
C. M.
Nice little place. Friendly staff. Comfortable. The toilet had a small leak (on the floor) but apart from that room was good. Beds were ok but not great.
P. B.
East Hotel - it's another modern, full service hotel in one of Canberra's interesting districts.
Nice rooms with big beds and views.
Good conference facilities - I've spent plenty of days in dodgy meeting rooms here in Australia, in Asia and Western Europe. Pleased to say this is not that!
Light, airy meeting rooms, good coffee when you need it, excellent catering and hotel staff who are happy to see you and happy to help.
Recommended.

Well appointed rooms, large in size, modern feel, family friendly and comfortable furnishings. Really friendly and helpful staff who are willing to help customers. Nice touches like a thank you card from the general manager makes you feel more than just a customer. Definitely would stay again.
A. L.
Interesting hotel design. Interior theme is dark with wood accents. Good service. Chairs in meeting rooms are extremely uncomfortable if you don't sit bolt upright. Bathroom facilities are not available near the meeting rooms on the upper levels. Good catering options.
T. M.
Room with kids retreat was amazing. The rooms were spacious and included stove and microwave should you wish to eat in. The room was clean and would have been a good size for a couple. What impressed me most was the friendliness of the staff. Good place to relax in Canberra.
M. P.
Great hotel, close to shops, onsite parking just 10 per day for guests. Beautifully appointed rooms with robes and slippers, organic toiletries supplied. Good meeting rooms, nice restaurant, cool bookshop. Housekeeping are awesome, they even tucked our teddy bear back in when they made the bed!
S. B.
This is a great hotel. The one bedroom apartment is well appointed. The kitchen has a full size fridge microwave and everything you need if you want to cook. The king size bed is very comfortable excellent quality linen, towels and top class complimentary bathroom products. It is very quiet has a great gym along with two restaurants and bars. The location is right in the middle of Manuka and Kingston with a shot walk to both centres. The staff are efficient and friendly. Housekeeping is also very good. Highly recommend.
H. T.
A truly wonderful guest experience, staff were super polite and helpful. The room itself (a family room) was well appointed, especially the laundry! Which was a lovely bonus for needy travellers who'd been on the road for a few weeks.
We hired bikes from Reception, which was really easy, and took the helpful advice of the staff so that we were sure we were taking in all the sights.
Breakfast at the Muse cafe was out of this world! The Soufflé was a revelation.
We can't recommend East Hotel enough for any type of guest.
S. G.
Having just opened in September 2012, our stay made us one of the first visitors to the hotel. Everything is nicely designed and in perfect condition. Nice sized rooms. Very modern. Fantastic beds. Great bathroom. Decent gym. Highly recommended!
C. S.
One of the very good independent hotels that have been popping up in Canberra over the last couple of years. The staff are friendly enough and the rooms are well maintained and of a reasonable size. Well worth checking out if convenient to your purpose for visiting Canberra.
D. L.
Love staying here. Great staff, great rooms, great amenities including a comprehensive gym. Joe's Bar and Agostini's Italian Restaurant on site are first rate and very convenient. I travel to Canberra regularly for business - East is my home-away-from-home!
S. J.
Great room and Muse has some great food and atmosphere for breakfast. Had to have room service for a couple of nights and it's been a bit disappointing. Only food available is from the Italian restaurant and both times it has arrived only just warm. Other than that would be happy to stay again.
P. M.
Our 5th time to the East Hotel with our family. Unlike most apartment hotels, the design and quality furnishings sets this place apart from the rest. Rooms are well laid out and contain everything you need for even long stays. The best choice in Canberra and we will be back
M. J.
My second time at this hotel, it's a very comfortable and friendly place. Staff has invariably been extremely helpful. Rooms are good sized with small but functional kitchens. Restaurant, Joe's Bar, and bookstore/cafe (pictured) all on premises. Recommended.
T. M.
Absolutely amazing hotel. Spacious room with a great kitchen and facilities. The co****sation is that the hotel is well situated between the shopping and dining hubs of Kingston and ***uka. Bicycle hire was a bonus. The bowls of free lollies in the lobby are a trap for dieters but a kids delight.
T. S.
This hotel is probably the best hotel in Canberra for a 4-5 star location. We received extremely well service and were treated extremely well. I would want to come back to this place If I were to ever come back to Canberra
D. S.
Great modern clean rooms. Customer service is faultless. Had an issue with our room heating and it was resolved in minutes. My only gripe is the extra charge for parking, it’s not much but conceptually annoying. Would have thought that it would have been included given the price premium.
P. H.
Quite honestly one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at!! Amenities, service, atmosphere, restaurant and cafe - beyond the standards of great customer service. I absolutely love this place and staying here feels like a home away from home. It makes traveling a pleasure!! Could not recommend the hotel and staff more than I can. Thanks so much, East Hotel!!
R. B.
Excellent hotel with good rooms.
The main issue is that maintenance needs a little improvement. One of the blinds fell down in the night because the glue had melted during the day from the sun. It was obviously cheap and hadn't been stapled at the seam.
Otherwise the bed was astonishingly comfy and room nice and big.
A. E.
I absolutely adore this hotel. From their friendly and conscientious reception staff, a simple check in procedure, spacious rooms and decent eateries... It's the little things that make me want to come back. From the printing of guests instagram photos to pin in the lift, to the lolly jars for your midnight snack, the late check out as standard... They remember your name upon return, the décor is hip and fresh, and the vibe of the hotel is sublime. Absolutely my favourite hotel in Canberra, I can't recommend it highly enough.
T. M.
I absolutely recommend this place. All these are within comfortable walking distance. We didn't use the bar/restaurant facility but I've been told (by friends in Canberra) that they are very good. Always great service and we really really loved the Wicked deal and the surprise behind the scenes tour East had arranged.
B. B.
Fantastic place to stay. Check in staff were great and extremely helpful. All done with a friendly smile.😁😁😁
K. G.
Had a great breakfast catch-up at Muse with friends. Food is always fresh and delicious. Thoroughly recommend breakfast lunch or dinner here.
A. M.
We have stayed at East hotel 11 times. Absolutely love it. Smart up to date decor, always reliable housekeeping, professional staff. Good eating outlets, convenient location and undercover parking.
J. B.
I’ve stayed at three hotels in Canberra and East is by far the best. Easy walking distance to lots of stuff, including the lake, restaurants, and food stores. Muse restaurant is GREAT for breakfast or dinner. East lends bikes to guests for free, which provided a fun outing around the lake... just watch out for the hard bike seats. Lots of space in the room, kitchenette, washing machine... all useful stuff.
T. M.
On the morning of checkout there was work above our room (repairing balconies) and the noise was unbearable. Close to great restaurants and the kids love the lollies in reception. The on site cafe had very tasty food and a good bookstore to browse. Free lollies in the lobby are a great hit with all ages.
A. R.
Stylish interiors, very modern. Great bar and cafe off the main foyer, and a bookshop! There are bikes to borrow near reception, and one of their function rooms has a stack of LPs and a record player (as well as being decorated with reproductions of album covers)
Rooms are gorgeous, with a pod coffee machine rather than sachets of instant. Service was exemplary. Was only there overnight, but am looking forward to spending an entire weekend there soon.
K. H. (.
What a great family friendly hotel. Excellent facilities with a kitchen and laundry, and walking distance to a cute shopping area with plenty of nice cafes. Free WiFi and underground parking. We absolutely loved it and had a great time. Looks really nice too!
J. N.
Atmosphere in the East Hotel is fairly grand, the low lighting definitely has an effect on you. The Joe's Bar could offer more non alcoholic beverages on the menu, but then again it is a bar so it's a small problem. I enjoyed my time attending a social event at the East Hotel. Plus there is free parking just a minute away from the hotel.
e.
Very large and comfortable one bedroom apartment. Everything provided for a fantastic stay. Make sure you book a table if you want to eat downstairs though, it gets packed for both dinner and breakfast. Agostini's: also amazing.
H. N.
Great facility close to everything. The bed is very comfy. Huge bathroom. The Italian restaurant downstairs makes fantastic frico. Muse is good for breafast. They have bike for hire at no cost. Highly recommended
B. D.
Awesome hotel and service to match.
D. F.
Gorgeous hotel with great spaces and a friendly staff. I stayed here for two nights recently and was very happy with the overall accommodations. The staff is very friendly and helpful, the decor is beautiful, and the rooms are spacious and well-kept.
D. W.
Such a marvelous experience! It is clear that the management and staff have thought hard about how to make the experience at their hotel just a little bit better. They excel at all the usual stuff (front desk service, cleaning, gym, etc.) And then really go the extra mile (or kilometer) to make the stay much more pleasant. The free bike rentals were a treat for rides to the lake or nearby parks. When it rained, complimentary "East Hotel" branded umbrellas magically appeared at the entrance/exit. Oh, and since I was there a while, I really appreciated having access to free washing machines for laundry.
H. J.
Quality of the finishes are great, yet surpassed by the service. So many little touches are thought of, and having kids stay is no problem at all (even small chocolate bars added to room for the kids -and not part of mini bar). This is now our only Canberra hotel!
P. C.
This really is an awesome hotel, especially for international and longer stay visitors with many rooms featuring a functional kitchen with microwave, 2 hot plates, wall oven, dishwasher and full size fridge and freezer. There is also a laundry with washing machine and seperate dryer with detergent provided. If you have a studio Style room there is still a free guest laundry on level 5 with detergent provided. No annoying coin slots. The staff are incredibly well trained and very friendly. On site restaurant and bars are very cool with great ambience and menus. The hotel is also easy walking distance to the Manuka shops and restaurants. I don't give a score of 5 very often but after several stays at this property it is a very easy 5 stars from me. Enjoy your stay.
C. C.
Best hotel for short trips to Canberra. Excellent food downstairs with 3 different venues. Pub across the road. Rooms are of a very high standard of appointment. Love this place!
M. P.
Organization well cared for in all aspects: hospitality, professionalism, cleanliness, ancillary services, bicycle, parking, library, bar and restaurant. Well-stocked and prestigious cellar. The Italian restaurant deserves five stars and more.
J. O.
Great venue, really friendly and relaxed bar, restaurant and hotel. Highly recommend for a drink, casual catch up, or dinner.

Review Context: Family of 4 with 2 adults in early 40s and 2 girls aged 8 and 6 from Sydney. Australian Day long weekend in Canberra.
This was our second stay at the East Hotel and both times we opted for the Kids Cubby package. This meant our kids had their own adjoining apartment with nice little touches like, little tacticity table with drawing paper, board games and an XBox. The kids room also had a bunk bed and Lego themed artwork on the walls.
Both rooms were in good condition and very clean. There are kitchens in each room with cooktop, fridge and dishwasher.
We had 2 TVs in the adult room and 1 in the kids room, so no fighting over what was playing/streaming.
We had lunch at Agostini’s, it has a good selection of pastas, salads and pizzas. Everything was fine except for the kids Spaghetti Bolognese, which was very salty.
We also had breakfast at Muse, and while the menu was fantastic with very well thought out and healthy options for the adults, the options were limited for the kids. We ended up paying $5 for a Rice Bubbles mini cereal box...ouch.
The Hotel staff were always friendly and courteous, but never in your face, which I really enjoy as I appreciate a warm and relaxed environment in the hotels I stay at. I was told the hotel was very busy over the long weekend but it never felt over crowded or raucous.
The hotel is located in Kingston, next to Manuka and getting around was easy enough with our car.
The only 2 gripes we have were that the pillows were way too soft and low and that there was a strong stench of sewage at times in the car park.
All in all we enjoyed our stay and the East Hotel is one of our favourite places to stay in Canberra.

Great value and facilities. My partner and I drove from Sydney to Canberra, the parking was a great attraction to us and it was secured parking, a bonus! We loved the cocktails at Joes, we spent majority of our time there! Unfortunately for us we couldn't get a table at the Italian Restaurant until late in the evening, so we decided to order it as room service instead which was perfect! It only took 20 mins to arrive, pipping hot. We enjoyed having the luxury of having great food, from our bed watching TV. We woke up late the next day which meant the cafe nest to Joes was pretty busy so we skipped the cafe. We booked with the Cartier package which included Parking, Two tickets to the Cartier exhibition and a bottle of Red Wine. We couldn't book with a Luxe room so we were upgraded to an Apartment suite. This was fantastic with all it's facilities. Coffee & Tea were of high quality. Departure was easy enough and offered bottles of water for our journey home. Everything you need in one space. Great for the perfect weekend getaway. Would stay here again. Thanks to all the staff. We stayed here last weekend: June 9th.
J. M.
Had evening meal at Joe's bar. Four people for dinner and we shared a range of food together. Pizzas were very good - flavours were original and enjoyable. Only minor down side is that there areany hard surfaces which makes for a noisy environment.
J.
What a terrific little hotel. Good size rooms with balconies, kitchenettes and large bathrooms, a number of dining options in the lobby (or a pub across the road), and a minibar with street prices! Throw in free bike hire and it's a winner.
D. M.
Great place to stay. Atmosphere is the best i have stayed at for a motel/appartment facility. Good location. Room layouts vary but some are great.
Meals are hit and miss in the local restaurant.
Pub accross the road has great range of food with great inside and outside seating.
K. W.
The staff were welcoming, kind, helpful and friendly. The hotel was clean, modern, quiet and well appointed. We couldn't recommend them more highly :)
Also, dinner @ Joe's Bar was excellent with more friendly staff and excellent food.
D. D.
The spa bath is amazing! Room service and facilities were good. You have to pay for WiFi which I just cannot understand in this day and age. We stayed in the Luxe studio, had a balcony and all, but it was too windy and chilly to enjoy it. Room was air-conditioned, equipped with a kitchenette and basic utensils. Bed was comfortable. Toiletries were well-supplied. We stayed for 2 nights and room was serviced daily. Overall, we successfully spoiled ourselves with a comfortable stay at the East Hotel.
S. L.
Hotel is nice and modern. Very disappointed that papers arrived so late. Staff did not know when they were expected and were unhelpful and as this is my relaxation prior to work I was disappointed. Love breakfast at Muse but will go to Silos next time as papers are always there.
S. P.
What a tidy place, easy accessible to all the locations
A. G.
Great place to stay in Canberra.
Well appointed hotel apartment.
Great home away from home.
I. L.
Stayed long weekend. The kids room was a hit. Lots of boards games, xbox, a book to read each and a kit kat made for some pretty happy kids. Service exceptional and ordered room service which was great. Beds are super comfy. Perfect stay.
C. L.
What a great spot! Love the decor. Loved that a waiter took my drink order from my table at the bar - very nice touch. Also the truffle pizza is fab - I'm still thinking about it a day later!
K. B.
Funky hotel in a central area with absolutely everything you look for in a hotel. Staff were warm and welcoming and the room was uniquely designed, comfortable and clean. We will definitely be back and be recommending East Hotel to friends/family! K
J. B.
Quite a nice hotel. I wasn't too impressed with the restaurant when we visited. I was pregnant at the time and 99% of what they had there wasn't pregnancy friendly and they weren't flexible to change things on the menu to suit, which was disappointing for a 5 star hotel
A. D.
Still great friendly service, especially for regulars. Big comfy apartments, all the facilities you need. Breakfast in the Muse cafe libray bar.was good, scrambled eggs not as good as usual unfortunately.. Recommended.
M. D.
We had a successful meeting which ran successfully without any trouble at all, this was mostly due to the fantastic staff at the East Hotel who were so helpful.
Sarah provided wonderful assistance all day particularly moving the layout around for an extra morning meeting and Despina was there to provide support to all my questions, helping with a few tricky things (requests from one of our guests). Nicola was fantastic with all my pre-meeting organisation questions and extremely helpful.
I have put the hotel's contact details into our system because if we have a meeting in Canberra this hotel will be the one of choice. Our Guests loved it, thought it was funky, provided them with great spaces do to some other work during lunch, they kept refilling cups with lollies and overall really enjoyed their stay particularly those who were lucky enough to stay the night. (Oh and the food YUM!)
I LOVED THE ACCOMMODATION! If I travel to Canberra I wouldn’t be staying anywhere other than this hotel. The bed was super comfy, the apartment just incredible. It was so nice to arrive to a wonderful room after a horrible flight.
Thank you again and the staff for really making this meeting a successful day!
P.S I love the soap line!

Very pleasant hotel. I had a large, well appointed room with tasteful decor - quiet and comfortable. Cafe downstairs is an added bonus.

(4.5 stars)
For my latest Canberra sojourn my digs were a luxe apartment inside the East Hotel. Sitting right on the border between Kingston and Manuka, this purpose-built medium sized hotel popped up in 2012. If, like me, you’re an architecture buff who hates ugly buildings, I reckon you’re going to like East Hotel's simple glass and concrete form that blends in nicely with the surrounding medium density housing.
In terms of location, most of Canberra appears to be a fifteen-minute drive from any other part of Canberra, which is pretty much an affordable, under twenty buck cab or Uber ride. Kingston is famed for its foreshore, with restaurants, cafes and attractions like Canberra Glassworks, and the Old Bus Depot Markets that runs every Sunday.
The hub of the East Hotel is an attractively designed lobby, with bright, contemporary colours, and multi-floor projections. There’s a range of reading materials and seating options to enjoy them in; a pair of Macs for guest use; and cute little touches, like glass jars of lollies that sensibly get taken away at dinner time.
With underground parking, an all-day diner and bookshop called Muse: Food, Wine & Books, a bar called Joe’s Bar, and an Italian restaurant, Agostinis doing everything from pizza to steak to an elaborate chef’s table experience, you can end your Canberra road trip as soon as you park your car. There’s even a pub and bottle-shop across the road, if you don’t feel like drinking the carefully selected Collector wines, you’ll find upstairs in your 4½-star serviced apartment.
Walking in through the door of our fifth-floor luxe apartment (from $249/night) you can immediately see the East Hotel is attempting to shake off the boring label that has dogged Canberra for as long as I can remember. Wire-framed orange outdoor chairs are as eye-catching as the expansive view. Inside there are matching orange cushions, a magenta statement chair, and a blue velour side table. Even the art is contemporary, with the desk nook topped by a band-inspired piece that features everyone from the Meat Puppets to Joan Jett.
The apartment is spacious, with a compact kitchen that has everything you’ll need to cook your own dinner and eat it at a small dining table. Opening the cupboards, you’ll even find a discretely stashed washing machine and dryer. The bathroom has a bath, plus separated shower and toilet, all kitted out with Appelles Apothecary & Lab products that you can buy full-size in the lobby if you happen to fall in love.
The bedroom is cosy, lending itself both to summer (with air conditioning) and winter, with a colourful fluffy throw and a 32-inch LED television you can watch in bed. The king-sized bed has lovely crisp linen and a super-soft bed topper that, when combined with airy pillows, saw me sink in for an excellent sleep. Waking up to a delicately painted mauve and orange-hued dawn sky with a hot air balloon floating by was priceless.
And finally, while there isn’t a hotel pool onsite, a quick flash of your room key will give you free access to Manuka Swimming Pool, a five-minute walk from the East Hotel. Opened back in 1931, Canberra’s first public pool is an Art Deco delight with a ‘last output of Empire’ vibe. It’s deep too, down at the deep end, nine feet in the Imperial measure, so diving (and even bombing) is allowed. It was a nice place to hang out in the sunshine, without having to get back into our car before the three hour drive back home to Sydney.
T. M.
From the complimentary lollies and water in the foyer to the friendly and helpful staff, The East is a must if visiting Canberra. Perfect location to visit Questacon and weekend getaway with children. The room was quiet (which I'd requested) and adequately darkened so a sleep in past sunrise was achievable.
S. W.
Fabulous, edgy yet comfortable hotel in a great park of Canberra. Spacious rooms, cool on site restaurant and bar, check out the Gin & Tonic cocktails!

Trendy decor & a sleek vibe make this hotel far more than a place to stay. For locals there are a couple of well known eating spots. Joe's bar bringing a delicious take on share plates. The meatballs were a favourite, alongside their chicken liver parfait too.
B. D.
Fantastic service. Friendly staff always willing to help. Clean rooms. Great restaurants. Will always be our place of stay in Canberra.
D. M.
Staff are friendly, rooms and amenities were fantastic. Very reasonably priced and the cafe and restaurant downstairs were great. Definitely will be returning
T. Y. L.
Stayed in a luxe apartment. Excellent experience. Washer, dryer, fully equipped kitchen, lots of space - a very enjoyable stay. Breakfast at Muse is good and dinner at Joe's Bar a must.
F. T.
The East Hotel is a great, modern, hotel with an accessible location. Across the street is a nice restaurant / bar and grocery shopping is only 2 blocks away. The hotel features all the amenities that you need. This is my 2nd stay, and they now have multiple restaurant's on the main floor.
A. A.
Wow. What a wonderful stay. Friendly staff, great facility and spacious comfortable rooms ideal for both long and short stays. Combined with great in-house restaurants, bars and cafes, the East Hotel has it all for a great stay.
A. N.
This was a massive dessert, which was as equally tasteful. The only problem was the deconstructed tiramisu. Looked impressive, but the biscuits were too dry and hard. They needed to sit in coffee longer. It is a dessert where substance must win over appeal.
M. S.
Fantastic place to stay with kids. They were very welcoming and accommodating as well as providing toys/books/activities for the kids. Clean and big rooms. Would definitely stay again.
H. B.
My stay was good- particularly pleased about strong, white lighting in the bathroom. The recent trend in hotels is for very dark lighting, like with Hotel Hotel, so dark one cannot see to (eg) apply makeup properly. Thank you for that!
I received room service Rocket salad (Insalata di Rucola con Parmigiano e Pera, lasagna (Lasagne al Ragù) and dessert (Tramezzino al Gelato ). Both the lasagne and salad were disappointing (lasagne tasted okay but was a small serve- about the size of a frozen supermarket lasagne with poor presentation and the salad was mostly rocket leaves, which weren't particularly fresh even though there was a massive serve.
The dessert was fantastic- brandy & fig gelato served between vanilla cookies. 2 of them as well, so a large serve.
What impressed me most was the friendliness of the staff. Room service man was very pleasant. I needed to call him as staff had failed to provide a small complimentary milk to have with tea and coffee.
The reception staff were very polite, respectful and informative.
The room was very clean (thank you the lovely cleaning lady who greeted me as I left), neat and presentable. The bed was very firm, which suits my injured back very well. The lighting was great in the bathroom but maybe a little dark to read a book by in bed. The room was quiet (which I'd requested) and adequately darkened so a sleep in past sunrise was achievable.
The only other very minor note was a dead coin battery (C2032 I think) in the alarm clock remote control.
C. P.
Lovely and convenient space. Fabulous restaurant on the main floor. Fabulous cafe and bookstore there as well. Stellar restaurant across the street as well. Rooms are wonderful, especially with the small kitchenettes.
C. S.
Awesome hotel, customer service fantastic, comfortable rooms, very clean and tidy.
R. G.
Located very close to Manuka and Kingstone shopping areas, it’s a high class hotel with friendly staff and nice service.
You have a limited selection of wines (two bottle, $25 and $40) brewed in Canberra. Yes they are expensive (can get an equivalent quantity of $40 win for $15-30 from liquor store), but it’s worth it to try ;).
Bus stations are a few meters away from the hotel, so going to the city center and coming to the hotel is quite straight forward.
Plenty of choices for meals inside the hotel and many restaurants in its close proximity.
M. B.
large room 62sqm with tree views. Staff very helpful. location ideal and easy to get around. lots of restaurants at waterfront area, Kingston and Manuka. Will stay again and recommend to friends.
M. B.
Lovely place with modern, comfortable rooms, a polite and professional staff. It has 2 restaurants (a breakfast place that makes excellent coffee and an Italian restaurant that is outstanding) and a bar on site.
C. F.
Great place to stay, lovely accommodation and loads of places to eat close by
D. S.
Quiet comfort. It is a surprisingly beautiful place to find in Canberra. Pleasant stay that features simple design, good clean facilities, and amazing restaurants.
C. L.
Such a nice place to stay. Close walk and drive to shops. Amazing staff and attitude. The restaurant is nice (a bit expensive). The lollies in the lobby are so appreciated. Oh, and they used Appelles apothecary in the bathroom. Love it.
E. Y.
Nice hotel. Everything seems clean and fresh. Only negative was the pillows were not very comfortable which made it a bit difficult to get a good nights sleep.
M. W.
Great modern apartments with spacious studio rooms and various size apartments. 3 mins walk to Manuka cafés and a tad further for Kingston shops. Ox eatery is very nice, a tad pricey but worth trying. $5 room delivery surcharge is a bit of a rip off, considering it's the only room service option. Nice gym, bit small but generally not overly busy. Staff are pleasant and helpful. Room cleaning is a bit of a hit & miss sometimes and could be improved. Overall though, the best apartments in Canberra.
J. D.
Fantastic Hotel we love it here. Also have a great bar to enjoy your drinks.
T. M.
We dined at the new Agostinis Restaurant. We had a great experience. The 3 person steak was amazing. Some new restaurant jitters with unskilled staff. And the shredded asparagus was not a hit at the table.
B. B.
Very nice hotel, many rooms have small kitchen areas and balconies. Modern and upscale with bar and restaurant. Near Manuka and Kingston shopping and restaurants. Close to government area, parliament, and one end of the lake.

Quite an odd place I went to the bar looking for a good ol' fashioned pint and was advised they only serve schooners (expensively) and, in today's cashless society, was advised of the price and then went to swipe my phone and noticed the surcharge.
Instantly loses two stars for the cashless surcharge This is an outdated practice that needs to go That's your cost of doing business, not mine. Should I also pay a rent and wages surcharge for the service and seat if I sit down? Either way, cashless is faster and presents numerous efficiency and other benefits to the business
Shame
Will revise rsrkjfrating when fixed

Great service lovely rooms and convenient location - our place of choice for a staycation in Canberra.

From the moment you drive up Canberra Ave and see East Hotel, you know you are in for something special.
Walking in to East Hotel is an ethereal and surreal event. The smell of their products permeates the air with a sense of tranquility, only interrupted by the sounds of two children eager to check their room out.
Checking in was a breeze, the hardest part being trying to stop the children from running wild from an intake of sugar which the WHO would probably advise against.
Opening our room door, 524, was a marvel at the very least, to walk in and realise this little piece of heaven was ours for the next couple of days. Walking into the lounge, we see the care and attention which has been put into making our children also comfortable for the next few days.
All in all, East Hotel compares with the luxuriousness of our time in the cottages at Turtle Bay, Hawaii. Only difference this time is you are close to so many things, and a *slight* variance in temperature.
Located within East Hotel is Agostinis Restaurant & Muse Cafe. Both are excellent choices. Would suggest you book early for Agostinis as it is exceptionally busy. In saying that, you can order room service from Agostinis, which is also a great thing when you have two monsters, I mean children. You must try their salt and vinegar chips.
The real test to whether a place is good or not is the response from all parties, and on Sunday, we were all disappointed to be leaving. My four year old asked as to when we could go back to his room with the tv in it. We will be back, mountain bikes in tow!
E. B.
My favourite hotel in Canberra. I have stayed there three times and have never been disappointed.
The rooms are spacious and beautifully decorated. No poky little bathrooms here. The beds are so comfortable you almost can't wake up. There is free internet (wifi or ethernet), a full pillow menu and an amazing bar downstairs. I will always try to stay there when I am in Canberra.
E. S.
A fantastic venue for professional events. The meeting room and adjoining breakout area are perfect for presentations and networking events. We have used this venue twice now and will definitely be back.
M. J.
Went there for a work meeting and the staff at reception were lovely and the room was really well decorated. Which is so rare to not just sit in a white walled boring room! Well done East Hotel!
L. G.
Love this place, very friendly staff, always greet me with a smile, rooms are very comfortable and equipped with everything, great for long stays. Great location and plenty eateries in the area
A. M.

Unfortunately not value for money. Strongly suggest not to package anything (meals) with the hotel.
What was advertised did not meet expectations
R. B.
My room ("flat") in the East Hotel was probably the nicest hotel room I've stayed in, with a lovely lounge area, a nice balcony with a pleasant view and everything else one might expect. I couldn't fault it.
S. P.
Apartment style room it's fine, spacious enough. Here with wife and daughter. Tv was locked to hotel so couldnt plug in external USB to play own content..
