Other then that. Everything was wonderful. I even had a dip in their beautiful pool. I did notice their water feature was not going. It would have been lovely to see it flowing and make the place look extra special. I would highly recommend Garden City Hotel to my friends and family 100%
D. C.Our stay was absolutely great. Very clean. Comfortable bed. The staff are very helpful, polite and cheerful. We spent 5 days there. Cannot fault it in any way. The food was good. Having a mobility disability, I found that one disabled parking spot was not enough. At least two more would be very beneficial to travelers staying there. Great swimming pool. Will definitely stay there again.

L. P.The staff have all been friendly and helpful. The rooms are tidy and large enough to be comfortable. An a la carte breakfast was included! The pool opens 8am-8pm and is so large and extra deep but also contains a shallow area to relax in. Nearby the pool is a gym as well. There is plenty of free parking surrounding the hotel. The underground carpark has a 2.2m height limit and room for trailers. You can easily drive to the city center or a taxi is around $20-$30 and the hotel is also within the e-scooter zoning. Laundry area is available and takes $1 coins. Awesome value for money.
A. S.Excellent hotel. Can’t complain, very clean and well looked after. Asked for a baby cot and it was set up when we arrived. Room was nice and warm. Showers are fantastic with great water pressure and hot water is at a perfect setting. Parking is easy. Beds are comfortable, had a good night’s sleep. Doors don’t slam shut like some other hotels. Even kids slept well. 🤩

Bufet breakfast consisted of variety of options, all found to be delicious. Dinner menu, however was exactly the same as the room service. We then preferred to dine in another restaurant nearby (The German Club)

L. H.This is a good location in the Canberra suburbs, easy enough to get around to other parts of the city as long as you have a car. The staff were friendly and efficient. The room was older but comfortable and spotless, with very effective air-conditioning. The hotel was very quiet, bar the occasional noise from the plumbing when a neighbour was showering. The shower was a blessing, with good quality toiletries and plentiful hot water. The water pressure dropped when a neighbouring room started using it, but was still perfectly adequate.
D. G.I was super impressed by garden City! When I checked in, I was informed that I had received a complimentary upgrade...winning! The room was immaculate. Well appointed, but most importantly clean. The whole hotel was well looked after. I called reception to request a late check-out. No problem... that's a great hotel. Cannot fault, well done garden City!

The breakfast buffet was rather disappointing and didn't even offer any cheese. Breakfast buffet coffee made in a machine, which was rather lousy. Other than that, it was ok, and I'd return to this hotel if in Canberra.

Lost one star unfortunately because the first night we stayed there, there was a blackout and it was so hot in the room and the window wouldn't open (felt like the glass was going to come out of the window frame). Be aware, reading other reviews there seems to be quite a history of car breakins at this site with not much done about it by the hotel apart from a sign to bring your valuables with you.

J. H.In an easy to access part of Canberra and very easy to find, we arrived late and reception were more than happy to accommodate for this. The room was great value for what we had, always very clean and beds are extremely comfortable. Reception was always willing to attend to any questions or requests that we had. I would definitely recommend this hotel and will certainly be stopping here on any future trips to Canberra!
m. m.I would like to thank Cosmo for his service provided. Upon checking out my husband had left his wallet in the hotel room drawer which contained more than $300. We were not aware of it. Cosmo contacted me and told me that wallet and a telephone charger was found in the room by cleaning staff. I am so grateful and thankful with the hotel staff and honesty shown, as in the wallet was not only money but all important cards.
Thank you once again for informing us and for prompt action taken by Cosmo. Much obliged. Hotel accommodation was perfect very clean and fresh.
T. S.Stayed in a 3-person room with a double and single bed. Room and bathroom were small, but generally clean and tidy. Not too much noise from outside or inside. However, the room was really cold and the reverse-cycle air conditioner wasn't very good. We had to pull out extra blankets to stay warm overnight. Also, the privacy curtains had a bunch of torn holes in them, which was a weird piece of disrepair. Thankfully the inner curtains were still intact.

Tonight has been a particular night where we have probably been difficult, from being partner for an Xmas party having a call to collect the kids, within the time I went to collect the kids I got back to a cot ready for my little girl, and great room service for dinner. What a difficult night for me as a mother, and this place has made it just so much better. I'm a very grateful person for their incredibly amazing service.

Bathrooms are small and walls are thin.
M. B.Clean, heater works well. Rooms are small but big enough. Main issue is that the windows on my ground floor room don't lock and there are no security screens, you can literally just slide them open from the outside. Staff are friendly but the food is a tad overpriced.

P. C.My wife and I stayed here a couple of occasions on a recent trip to Canberra and NSW. I chose Best Western Plus Garden City Hotel as it offered the best price for services and its location close to Canberra Airport, Railway Station and Fyshwick (for car rental). The restaurant had a good selection of meals. My wife had the Barramundi which was a recent addition to the menu and was receiving good comments from customers. The bed was amazing. It was like sleeping on a cloud which was very appreciated after a long day of travelling.
N. S.The Best Western Plus Garden City Hotel consists of a nice, clean, only two-level but big building, a very impressive backyard with a pool, and reasonable amount of parking spaces. The hotel is not far from the Canberra airport and located in the middle of a quiet road with no other buildings around, much like the majority of Canberra hotels. The rooms are quite clean and self-contained, but absolutely nothing fancy or exciting here; though, they still worth the hotel's budget rates. Overall, if you looking for a comfortable one to few nights stay to do a business in Canberra, this is the hotel for you.

J. M.My husband and I stayed at this hotel for 8 days while we were on a business trip. The rooms were equipped with modern amenities and free wi-fi internet. The staff was kind and very helpful. The food at the restaurant was very expensive, but excellent! (Service was a little slow so we had to make sure we had plenty of time to dine.) We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The only complaint that we had is that the cleaning staff was not very thorough. The bed was not always made. Sometimes I had to call the front desk for towels or coffee packets. If you do not rent a car, this hotel is not for you. There really aren't any shops or restaurants near it. You need to drive everywhere.
H. S.It is well located, handy to Canberra city, the Manuka food and entertainment area. Easy access to major roads north and south. The motel is clean and comfortable. Restaurant and bar are well priced and good quality. Staff are friendly and helpful.

S. W.We booked our room via Last Minute and used their 4.5 star Mystery Hotel deal. It stats 'Save upto 70%'. I guess the 'UPTO' came into play here. We paid $123p/n for 2 nights including continental breaky. If we had walked in off the street we would have paid between $120p/n to $139p/n plus $15 each for breakfast. So I guess there is a small saving.
So to our stay.
The hotel is pleasant and nicely presented. Located on the outskirts of Canberra but still only 5 minutes drive to Manuka. There is a nice pool area which was getting good use by about 6 kids and plenty of off street free parking.
Our twin room was nicely renovated and inviting with a Queen and single bed, also a small table and 2 chairs. It wasn't big though and the bathroom was very small. It came with free WiFi which we easily connected to and free Cable TV.
In the morning we made our way downstairs to breakfast. For some reason our booking had missed adding the breakfast. All was sorted out after showing the email confirmation. The Continental breakfast was ok though the auto coffee machine made a bad coffee, and I mean really bad, watery and flavorless.
Staff were pleasant but sadly I felt I was interrupting them when checking in and in the restaurant.
So would I stay there again. For the price I'd say yes, but I did have to think about it.

Cons: Bar fridge a little on the small side if you want to chill a couple of wine bottles (it fits about 4 cans, and 4 mini bottles). Free WiFi but I only got <1Mbps download and ended up relying on the 4g data sim in my tablet - about 10x faster. Towel rail too small to dry your swimming togs as well as bath towels.
