We had an awesome time staying here. Our room was lovely which was on the 3rd floor over looking the pool and bay which we were lucky enough to watch a beautiful sunset each night.. we spent most days enjoying the pool with a few beverages.. the hotel was close to everything and if you needed to go a little further the scooters out the front were handy.. the staff were awesome, answering mundane questions that they probably get asked repeatedly. Do yourself a favour and chose Double Tree.. we will definitely be back . Rich and Fi x

We had a lovely stay here. The staff were friendly and always so helpful. Facilities were good and clean. It was close to shops once we figured out how to cut through the streets! The pool was great being next to a bar/restaurant allowing us to easily watching for out for kids whilst having a meal or drink even in the pool area.

Great location with close access to the city centre and waterfront. Free car parking for guests. Rooms are a little dated, with the bathroom feeling the most in need of some TLC. Staff were exceptionally friendly and informative, particularly those at the main desk. Onsite restaurant menu was somewhat limited, but servings were generous and enjoyable.

Hilton Honors Review I didn't have access to the 24hr GYM and when I asked at reception the following day [check out day 27.01.2022] I was informed that they were experiencing some issues with some of the access cards and gave me a new card. I was grateful but this access came to late for me to enjoy the 24hr GYM as I was checking out. [I didn't know that the gym access was included my room, only though I did not have access when the card would not access the 24hr GYM]. So I was disappointed that I was not able to access the GYM due to faulty card issues and the hotel staff knew of this problem! I had dinner in Aqua restaurant with 2 friends and I personally wanted to try this restaurant, I was happy with style, comfort and ambiance of Aqua BUT that is all. The menu was so overpriced, ridiculous! We ordered the bread $9 for a small [tiny] loaf that was so doughy, it was awful and disgusting, I would never order again. A burger $25 that was small and came with THICK cut fries, these were NOT THICK. Also ordered the Mexican Palmy and a Classic Palmy, which were ok but still overpriced. Both came with THICK cut fries and these were ordinary. Really the worst meal ever, that bread was disgusting! Mostly good customer service but I did notice wait times when phoning reception, when phoning the Aqua restaurant and also wait time for bar service at the pool bar, customers were waiting and it seemed some staff were not confident or inexperienced. The breakfast was awesome, really good variety of Cold and Hot selection. The room 411 was fresh and clean but still had OLD louver doors for the hanging space and fridge space. [dated]! Plus the bathroom was dated and shower space was small. I would stay again, I did enjoy the service and relaxation time, would have been better with GYM access but I would not eat at Aqua for dinner. Best Parts of my Staycation…😊 1 – BED super comfortable 2 – Breakfast 3 – Clean Facilities [very clean, fantastic] 4 – Pool was good 5 – COOKIE [I would love a Tin of Cookies]

Excellent service from the staff. Made to feel welcome with smiles. Beds are comfortable. Plenty of choice at the buffet for breakfast. Only downside is that the bathroom is a little outdated and needs refreshing.

Pretty good. The bathroom is really rubbish and the shower floods the entire space. The room itself is great, the beds are comfortable, the staff are lovely and it's easy to get into and around. At check in we were given a sales pitch on room upgrades and after already paying $185 for the room we were fleeced into paying an extra $30 just to have a view. The room was spotlessly clean but the bathroom was a throwback to the 1970’s and the shower still had a shower curtain! No free wifi…..what!! I hear you cry. Comfy king bed and pillows and overall not too bad but expected better.

Sold an upgrade at check in that turned out not to really be worth the price. Suite had a tiny shower with low water pressure and what's more no hot water for the first three days - slow maintenance. Pool is open until 10pm, but good luck getting towels - we had to chase on numerous occasions. Furthermore, the bar where you get towels closes at 9pm. Room cleaned well, though had to chase for the cleaning on one day as our room was missed.

Wonderful 5 star service from the team at DoubleTree Esplanade by Hilton. Our end of year ball was a success and the team were fantastic to work with, ensuring all our needs were met and communicating requirements promptly and efficiently. All the staff gave impeccable personalized service from Danny who checked me in to the lovely housekeeping staff who thanked and farewell me on departure. Special mentions to Chaitanya and Russell for their attentiveness and Treshan and Chef Madusha's team for their professionalism on the day of the event. Carlo and the RES team for looking after our room bookings and ensuring our stay was comfortable. I highly recommend this venue for both business and leisure.

Loved our stay at the Hilton Esplanade Darwin. Right from our first reception by Hilton team member Mr Todd Clark, we felt looked after and appreciated. The bathroom in our room was a little dated and had a bit of a leak, but that did not detract from the cleanliness and the lovely ocean view!! All the staff from the housekeeping staff to the front desk team were always so friendly, smiley and helpful. Defs be staying there again!

The two rooms I have stayed had slightly sticky bathroom floor, and watermarks also found on bathroom floor 2. Many guests in my tour group including me got charged for breakfast that was supposed be included in the tour, however they fixed the issue quickly and reversed the charges.

Had a really nice stay at DoubleTree. Great location just beside the park and walking street. Pool area is nice and relaxing although there could be a few more deck chairs available for guests. Breakfast was substantial and plenty of choice and the staff were friendly and helpful. the only frustration was having to re-activated the gym key every day, but the gym itself was good.

The hotel is old and run down. For a 4 star hotel, it lacks attention to detail as you can see at the entrance stairs and tiles. The room wasn't sparkly clean as it should have been. The gym was nice and accessible and the bar by the pool is nice. Location is great with the big playground at the front. Overall, it didn't excite us to be staying at this hotel.

We stayed one night at this lovely hotel for a fishing trip the next day. Everything was fine until happy hour when the beers were only 3/4 full? So basically the price was reduced but also the level of beer Maybe not call it happy hour and rename it half full Tuesday’s!

We had a lovely staycation which was excellent value. We had to wait on arrival to check in only to be told that our room was not ready. I did not mind paying for an upgrade to a suite so we could move in however it was 3pm and our room should have been ready. The suite was large but the shower was tiny (sorry but the bathroom needs renovating as it does not match the niceness of the room). The breakfast was great and my omelet was one of the best I have tasted in a while. We had a few issues with AirCon and WiFi but nothing too major. We are coming back in a few weeks time for another staycation. It will be interested to to see what our experience will be.

Lovely Motel would take Newmans Coaches group back there anytime, friendly staff nice clean rooms lovely beds to sleep on, dream pillows to lay on. Very spacious Motel. Excellent food best display of seen on our travel since Covid 19 Pandemic hit was there breakfast menu layout. I was so impressed even a juice machine was available to use fresh fruit & vegetables to put in it. I came home and I bought myself a juicer. On arrival at the Double Tree by Hilton you also receive a warm Anzac Biscuit to take to your room along with your key . Depending on what side of the Motel that your room was on you either had ocean view or t a view of their huge gorgeous swimming pool and bar area. Close walking distance to town.

I’m leaving 5 stars as I have absolutely no complaints. For the price we paid we got excellent service with a comfy room, nice beds and really helpful staff. The hotel has a bit of a business feel to it despite being in a tropical location and clearly used mainly by people on holidays. The pool is very inviting and was barely used while we were there. We had the buffet breakfast which I would describe as better than would be served in most Australian hotels. Overall I would recommend staying here.

Stayed for 1 night and was charged for 2 nights. I paid once when I reserved the room and was charged again after my stay. I had to write to Hilton (no reply) and later contact the travel agency. Only after some correspondence and I had to prov thate I was indeed double charged by providing my credit card bill did Hilton agree to refund my money.

Staff were friendly but sometimes didn't understand your request. May have been a language barrier issue. Toiletries supplied were great quality Crabtree and Evelyn. The hotel was getting towards the end of extensive renovations: painting, new carpet etc, so feels clean and well maintained in the public areas. The rooms are roomy and comfortable if a little functional. The bedroom had been renovated reasonably recently and they have plenty of USB charging socket. But it feels like they did the minimum they could get away with and it is scruffy beyond the immediate surfaces. The bathrooms are also rather dated. Good, engaging staff and a good breakfast too.

Todd and Carlos from front desk were very welcoming during our 5 day stay - and always so friendly, VERY informative and so helpful! From trouble-shooting to day to day assistance when planning our daily activities! Thank you guys! The room we had been given was spacious, neat and comfortable, the BED WAS SUPER COMFY!! Bathroom is a little dated but because everything else was better then we had expected - we did not mind it. The pool - we just LOVED, it was WONDERFUL! The Location of this hotel is ideal. It is less then 10mins (walk) to woolies and cafes near by and then maybe 20mins (walk) to the mall, slightly further down is the waterfront! I do recommend this hotel, beautiful people, reasonably priced and better then we expected. We would stay here again.

Could not be happier with this hotel and can not understand the negative comments. The buffet breakfasts were very good and the staff were very attentive and responsive, some of the best omlettes we have ever had which the staff were only to willing to cook. The additional foods presented as part of the buffet was also very well presented. See that some guests complained about the size of the showers, I am a large man and found the shower recess more then adequate. Only complaint might be that the bathroom floors were very slippery. Would also comment on the lack of air conditioning of the room however the fans appeared to keep the room cool enough. Other then these 2 minor comments could only recommend the Double Tree Hotel at 116 Esplanade 100 pc suitable for any resident.

We were fortunate to spend a few days here in early January. Staff were fantastic and at times we felt like the place was there just for us. Huge swimming pool, complimentary wi-fi with reasonably good speeds, old school buffet breakfasts, and can't review this place without mentioning the warm cookies that were handed out on arrival. Great customer service. Spacious and clean rooms. Right next to the coastline, you can easily go for a walk along the esplanade to enjoy the sunset. Walking distance to many restaurants and bar, 2min drive to woolies. They also have buffet breakfast for $25 if you book in advance. Great selection of hot and continental foods. There is usually a $30-35 dinner special but plenty of places around h corner that does buffet dinners for much cheaper. Pool is pretty small, and mostly packed with kids so we avoid jumping in.

The building is well located in front of the esplanade at 116 (not to be confuses with 122) with access to Mitchell street and walking distance to the CBD. The staff are excellent, food is great, breakfast buffet is filling. Great lap pool. The rooms are a little old, and the view of the bay is at times not great. But the room is large and the bed comfortable. Rooms are clean and fresh. 4th & 5th floor have better views. Check in check out is fast.

Stayed here on a week long work trip. Checkin By far the saving grace of this hotel are the people who work at checkin. I have to call out Todd who is the Client Relations Manager. His customer service and willingness to make our stay a memorable one was far superior to most five star hotels I have stayed at. This guy need a promotion or at least an award. Total service excellence. Hotel Room The hotel rooms are extremely clean and well maintained. The Bedding The beds are very comfortable too. I usually don’t like sleeping in hotel rooms but I found it really comfortable. Restaurant Just needs to improve on their attention to detail and the customer. I found the staff in the reftaurant to be a little too laise fair for my liking and rate them a 1 out of 10. The Pool Amazing pool area. Very clean and an abundant amount of beds and space. 10/10. Recommend Because of Todd and the overall experience I had here I am rating the hotel 10 out of 10! I recommend this hotel over all the other in Darwin for this reason.

This hotel was absolutely amazing! Came to stay in Darwin during the wet season for 5 days, and was blown away by the great accommodation. Although the rooms aren't complete luxury, that was made up for by the amazing service, the staff were extremely kind and polite and always smiled or waved when walking around the hotel, and always eager to help. The pool is hugee and great for kids, including a shallow and deep end, a smaller kiddy pool with a waterfall and shade provided with deck chairs. This pool was especially great during the hot weather and comes with pool noodles for the little ones. They offer great refreshments and an bar, as well as reasonably priced food and I can say that their chips are amazingly crisp! We ordered a breakfast buffet and it came with a great freshly cooked range of food for everyone no matter weather your vegan, vegetarian, etc- there will be something for you! The prices for this altogether was a great deal and would definitely come back to Darwin just for this hotel! The lobby is amazing and modern, with a large lounge area downstairs and great air conditioning! Not to mention they give their amazing signature Double Tree walnut and choc chip cookies on arrival, which taste amazing! I cannot recommend this place more and it is situated right on the Esplanade with a view of the beach, and has a large park across the road which is also great for kids! They even offer a 24 hour gym! With refreshing cold filtered water, perfect for a hot summers day. I hope everyone sees this amazing hotel, never had a more impressive stay, and I would recommend to everyone no matter what age!

This is a great hotel on the Darwin Esplanade. Has a resort feel about it and the swimming pool is very popular. Staff are friendly and the rooms are in good condition. I always enjoyed my stay here. Prefer this one over the Doubletree next door. Very handy to Mitchell and Smith Street where the cafes and shopping are located.

Stayed here as I was attending a conference. The place is decent for the price and obviously one shouldn't expect top notch service since it isn't 5-star. No one to help with the bags and there's no ground level lobby from the driveway to offload the luggages easily. This part was less attractive than the Doubletree next door. Room wise, space isn't an issue at all, and I like the fridge - it's spacious and not taken up by a mini-bar. Beds and pillows are more on the softer side but no complaints from me. Service wise at front office, they are helpful and willing.

This hotel is different from the Double Tree Darwin which is next door. I haven’t stayed next door but this one is reasonable: Setup is just as expected. No surprises. The exterior of the building looks dated but the interior appear to be refurbished. Wifi is fast. Plenty of good restaurants around.

I stayed here for a week. Breakfast was good and the breakfast staff were very friendly. The room was dated, 80's wallpaper a bit flakey and the TV system wasn't the best. WiFi seemed to work okay (tip: WiFi is free if you are a HHONORS member, and joining is free). The only power point near the bed was the alarm clock. The mattress wasn't the best, sleep was OK but it looked like it was saggy in the middle and should have been replaced years ago. Cleanliness of the room was acceptable but could be better (housekeeping staff must spend too much time resetting the time in the alarm clocks which get unplugged). There was a musty smell in the corridor outside my room and water damaged carpets. The parking under the building smelled like a sewer, so I parked on the street after the first night. Didn't use the pool or any other facilities. How ridiculous having two hotels next to each other with the same name that don't know about each other.

It is our third stay at the Doubletree and it was just what we needed a nice quiet time. The only complaint I would make is the menu for the restaurant not enough variety and outrageously overpriced and you need something like toasted sandwiches and Club sandwiches for around the pool.
