P. G.I stayed here for about 4 weeks continuously; my home away from home. The rooms in block 4 where I stayed, are a bit like barracks because the center access to the room door is gloomy and uninteresting. The room is a bit bare and uninteresting as well. The outlook onto a small patio is OK. A good spot for smokers. Early in the morning in the wet season is bit hot to enjoy. The room is adequate with the usual complimentary tea, coffee, milk and toiletries. The bed and bathroom linen is white and always feels clean. Housekeeping were always willing to make up the room or change the linen as necessary. The toiletries were always restocked. The bathroom was kept clean. Much appreciated. Parking near the room is usually always available.
Cossies restaurant provides breakfast, lunch and dinner. The menu has a good variety of selections. The table service is friendly and efficient. I enjoyed many meals in Cossies and always felt well-fed with good nutrition. Having an in-house restaurant is very convenient.
The gardens and surrounds are very pleasant. I didn't use the pool but the location is convenient to all guests and gives the place the resort atmosphere.
Complimentary Wifi was welcome because I could work at the small desk and watch my streaming services on my own device.
Overall, it was a good experience.
n. s.I just wanted to say a huge thank you to the awesome staff at Mercure. I booked a pool vila for my partner as it was our anniversary. I requested to have the room to be set up a certain way and they did an amazing job. They went above and beyond and even gave us a complimentary fruit basket (which didn’t last long haha)
From check in to check out. The service was amazing. The room was like we weren’t even in Darwin (Bali) more like it vibes. My partner and I really enjoyed our stay and we’d definitely recommend checking this place out. 100% coming back. Thanks team and great work, thanks for an outstanding experience.
B. J.Easy check in . Place is clean & tidy, Rooms o.k, good aircon, water pressure, & bed .Unfortunately was given a room , a great distance from reception, despite informing them I had several fractured vertebrae.....
Good little bar, however , the dine in menu is quite basic, dated, & quite expensive.
S. R.Have stayed for almost two months with my friend in a cabin facing a nature reserve, and I’ve had the most wonderful experience. Staff are very friendly, welcoming and helpful. Marissa has been my favourite employee - her and her team do a fantastic job each day to keep our room clean, tidy and stocked with clean linen etc.They take such great care and are quick! Marissa’s super friendly and always brightens our day. The restaurant has a few vegan options which were quite delicious: the vegan burger is my favourite. The pool is like an oasis but sometimes there’s too many kids in it for me.... so I just go across the road to the hotel pool. There’s also a gym and table tennis table for entertainment. The accommodation is close to everything: only a 10-15min Uber ride. Highly recommended to stay here. Conventional entry located next to the airport.
N. V.Breakfast was really special and memorable. We had the big breakfast and super food bowl. Everything was cooked to perfection, house made, large serves. Not the standard fare. Tropical garden setting was delightful. A wonderful start to our stay in Darwin.
V. P.We felt like we could be at any exotic place in the world while we were relaxing poolside waiting for check in to our resort bungalow. We were greeted at the taxi by our lovely receptionist who then sorted checkin for us. We were very early but were made instantly welcome as she took our bags and stored them while we waited for our room to be available. The pool was lagoon style and very family friendly looked very inviting but we were happy to just grab a bit of lunch and a couple of cocktails from Cossies Bar. Our room was very quiet and clean. The bed was super comfortable and air conditioned to the perfect temperature. although it was a bit dated I was very happy with the feel it was well appointed There was a large fridge and kitchenette with microwave and a good size shower. Our deck was surrounded lush tropical garden overlooking the pool and the sound of the waterfall was calming. Very happy returning next week

New stay a week later
There is a huge difference in accommodation here we stayed on two occasions this holiday. once in a resort bungalow (review above) which was fabulous then we stayed in the standard Queen which although it was very clean and comfortable it was old and felt like a prison cell block. You definitely get what you pay for here. Totally different experiences although both satisfied our needs.

S. H.Booked a pet friendly bungalow to allow us to take our red heeler pup for her first hotel holiday. The facilities are excellent. The most impressive thing however was the direct access to Rapid Creek Reserve from the hotel grounds. The perfect place to walk your dog.....even if your weren't travelling with pets, you should go and explore this stunning piece of bushland.
R. R. “. W.The room was so tiny with single and queen squeezed in. Bed was very comfy though. No remote for the television so decided to go straight to sleep. The restaurant and bar are very good! The hummus (home made) is the best you'll ever have. The food is excellent.
The swimming pool is large and landscaped, with lovely lights for night swimming. You'll love it.
C. H.Depends what you're there for. OK for a bed but if you want a good mattress and you're in Darwin for surgery and pretty much bound to your room for a few days - forget it.
It's pretty damn average. The staff are lovely, but the facility in general is very ordinary.
If you were staying for one night and didn't spend any time there, then it's OK. I'd see it more of a convenience stop if you flew in late and flew out the next day because airport proximity is great, but a $30 uber each way in to Darwin cbd negates any reason to stay there for a holiday because there's nothing there except airport noise.

Although the venue looks inviting upon entry, the restaurant food quality did not match the scenery. It was like chalk and cheese!

S. R.As a hotel convenient to the airport, it meets your basic needs, with a comfortable room and bed, restaurant on the premises that serves a good meal/coffee with a simply stocked bar, and pool/gym on-site. Reasonably priced.

My partner and I stayed in a Superior Spa Room. The bed was (no nicer way to say other then S*#T.) hard no give, so uncomfortable old and cheap. The lounge is the same over used, the room is large and a good size and air-condition is great BUT all the furniture in the room NEEDS replacing. its chipboard and most of it broken or rundown. If they replace all the furniture and get a new mattress I would be happy to stay again. ( the spa was great too) but the hand basin has lots of water damage and needs replacement.

Perfect for families-as they have a great pool for the kids to enjoy while the parents are watching from a nice terrace right by it. Toilets are excellent and very clean. A comfortable spot to spend your layover. 10-15 minutes walk from/to the airport. They also have airport shuttles, so that’s convenient foe whoever wouldn’t want to walk the distance.

G. C.Room was ok, nothing special. The in room ordering app did not show all menu options, when I tried to call the restaurant, for well over 20mins, nobody answered. When I went to order in person, I had to wait another 20mins even though there was only one person in front of me. The guy serving did not seem to know the menu or how to use a register. Really a let down. Food was ok, not great. This place doesn't seem to be what it used to be.

K. Y.We only stayed half a day. Our place was very late night. It was a lovely place to spend an afternoon. The unit we were in had an enormous bathroom being for disabled people. Bathroom as big as the room. You wouldn’t be able to use wheelchair in bedroom I wouldn’t have thought. Very small.

Blinds don't keep the light out and old fan rattled so much I think I got an hour of sleep. Room also needed a good clean. Not what you would expect from a 4 star hotel.

P. R.We really enjoyed our stay at the Mercure DAR. The staff were extremely accommodating, helpful and friendly. The huge pool was AH-mazing with perfect water temperature. The parking was easy as was the check-in/out process. The location is very central but it's still peaceful and surrounded by vegetation. The only kind of negative note was that the room is showing wear. But it certainly wasn't bad enough to drop it down a star. We looking forward to staying here the next time we're in Darwin!
G.Wonderful big ensuit room with a spa bath. TV has netflix, stan and youtube for choice which was a bonus. Their food at cossies is amazing. Love the pool area.
P. R.A great location, especially if landing at the airport late at night. I didn't even bother with the free shuttle bus - it was quicker to walk (go straight ahead out of the airport arrivals doors then follow the path through the trees). I liked the Southeast Asian vibe of the reception area, and the service when checking in and out was friendly and efficient. My room, while a little dated, had everything I needed (apart from free wifi) and was quite comfortable. The pool was nice too, but I couldn't find any trace of the gym. The biggest negative was the cleaners setting up their gear right outside my room in the morning (before 9am), and then trying to get into my room even though I was checking out after one night (and I had a late check out of 11am). It wasn't the best way to start the day after only getting to bed at 3am - an airport hotel, of all hotels, should keep the noise down in the morning and know who's checking out. But overall, quite good value.

F. I.Everytime I come to Darwin I stay at the Mercure. The rooms are nice and spacious - could use some renovation but nothing feels super old. The rooms are always well cleaned and the aircon is cracking when you arrive....a nice welcome feeling. Buffet breakfast - all you can eat for $29 - they recently renovated the restaurant and it has a good atmosphere. The food is great for a hotel restaurant (can’t go wrong with any of the burgers), I love breakfast in particular.

B. P.An exceptional and relaxing location for your stay in Darwin. A short walk or shuttle bus drive from the airport terminal this tropical oasis awaits. The bungalows are my choice for staying, although the rooms are just as nice although not as private. The large pool is perfect for cooling off after a long day, and the restaurant serves exceptional food with a wide variety on offer. Staff are very friendly, and the entire atmosphere here is of relaxed confidence. Rates are somewhat higher than other locations around Darwin, but well worth the investment. Highly recommended.

For instance.....not one suggested things to do while in Darwin. We had to figure that out ourselves.
The re was a biscuit barrel on the front counter.....didnt know they were free to take until i asked how much???
Another plus was the piece of cake left in our room when my husband told them it was my birthday. So that was a nice surprise.

So.....i need to just tell like it is in the hope that one day soon ....the little touches will begin to appear in ones stay. Its the little touches and the extra length the staff go to that remains in ones memory.

No room service, only call and collect is available from restaurants. Try Loong Fong across the road for takeaway too. Good foxtel range with a few movie channels to watch. Free parking right by your block of rooms.

T. M.Have stayed here multiple times over the past couple of years. Did the touristy bit and went sight seeingfound a cool lagoon on 2nd last day. Most of the time we were greeted with a smile. Very well trained personnel, in my opinion. The staff were all very friendly and eager to help in any way.

C. F.I had my share of bad experiences, HOWEVER... All bad experiences were personally dealt with by the assistant manager and each problem was dealt with by a proper solution. I will never hesitate to come here for a nice room and amazing services. The staff and maintenance crew here are definitely the best!

Then I had to use card again to pay for meals when checking out
Would have preferred to do all upon check out
Also there were kids behind counter while staff were serving
Then customers had to wait while lady dealt with her children
Not a very good look
I let ladies no that we had a terrible sleep no air con
And all as she could do was laugh and say I'll let maintenance know .
T. M.The street outside the hotel was very noisy all night long. Staffs' attitude need to be improved. The reception scene could only be described as chaotic. Food at the hotel is rather expensive as expected. Not very clean at all. I decided best not to chance it so hired a car and drove the 300 meters.

T. M.Rooms not cleaned from previous person. There was a lot of banging outside my door throughout the night. Items and rubbish under bed. Housemaid Staff very noisy early in morning. Odour of stale sweat. Restaurants were very expensive. I have had some questionable hotel experiences before but this was too much.

M. (.Fine hotel. Restaurant, bar, swimming pool and the other usual amenities that you would expect to find- room is very good. Good service from all staff I've dealt with.

The customer service has been excellent and the buffet breakfast is very good, however they are charging 5 star prices. Handy to the airport, therefore great for fly in conferences.
