K. G.The food here was amazing! I tried the duck roll entrée which was pretty tasty but the mains sticky pork ribs were perfect. Also, make sure you try their sticky date pudding. It's mixed with chocolate chips and is possibly the best sticky date pudding I've ever had! The portions were great and worth the price. Staff were friendly and service was quick. Excellent pub to try.

M. S.This place is magnificent. Mel has done a wonderful job of continuing the great meals, service and atmosphere that the Hotel has been famous for so many years. The service is great, the setting is great and the food in fantastic! Even when busy, your meal is always served promptly and is delicious. Extensive menu catering for all tastes & then there's the dessert! Must try is the chocolate brownies!!

There was someone to greet us at the door not like before with unfriendly service where we had to order at the bar, its all changed around and has a brand-new betting area and has been revamped inside from drab to fab. Could breathe for a change because the tables aren't pushed together like before. Had a wonderful time. Highly recommend. My kids loved it too. Have been coming here for 25 years and it's better than ever. Great Menu.

S. C.Very good food, especially if you were expecting pub grub! We had a lovely night at the Cascade Hotel. The stand-out meals were the calamari that melted in the mouth and the pork ribs that were full of flavour. The cheese platter was amazing as well, with some lovely figs and splendid blue cheese.
We did have to wait a little while to have our order taken, but it was very busy for a Monday night and our food was served promptly.
N. P.Great atmosphere. The food was nice. You can order small portions or larger portions of each meal. Very fresh fish and home made chips. Staff were super friendly and prices were reasonable. A short distance from central Hobart.

n.Food okay but a bit pretentious, eg does fish and chips need to be served on a bread cutting board? Keep it simple. The bar section needs to pay attention to responsible service of alcohol as I did not appreciate being accosted by a drunk from the bar who should have been cut off much earlier than at 1430 when I encountered him.

The pub still has its original charm. Seems like it has been this way forever and still has decades old fittings. That doesn't mean the food is basic fair as I had a rabbit that was delicious and wouldn't be out of place in any modern gastropub. $28 for the large

The dining room is very noisy but the bar is quieter, which is where I are thanks to a recommendation by the brilliant staff.
Recommended if you're up in South Hobart.

N. R.You know, some "counter meal" pubs are just that, but the Cascade Hotel has nicely evolved into a bistro. We were pleasantly surprised at how much the new owners have improved the dining area. Real (and not plastic) friendly staff genuinely anticipate and make you feel "at home" The food is delicious, we recommend you make a booking.

They have Casacde on tap which is the best beer in tap, I wish I could find it in Melbourne more readily. The beer was fantastic and my wife and mother in law really enjoyed it as well.

B. S.It's rare for me to give 5 stars for a meal, but the Northumberland would have to have been the best Surf & Turf Steak meal I have eaten. A perfectly cooked, flavourful medium steak with the fantastic and generous amount garlic sauce with prawns, scallops and in-shell green-lipped mussels just made me feel well and truly spoilt.
The Cascade Hotel is definitely on my list of top counter meals in Hobart and I look forward to returning soon.
D. B.Regular Hobart local pub, a little pricey at times but do a great Burger and have good beers on tap. Make sure to book if you want to eat in the restaurant especially on a weekend as it gets quite busy.
K. T.I don't want to give a negative review unfairly but feel that $6 for a soda water is pretty steep. The food pricing was fair. Not excellent, but I wouldn't turn down going back again. Customer service was lovely - though still charged $12 for our waters when we mentioned that felt too high...
A. P.I remember times gone past at the Cascade Hotel they had a great pub meal. I was a bit disappointed on this occasion the restaurant has tried to go up market on their meals which don't quite make the mark and the prices are way too high for the quality of food
