B. K.Like the town it is situated in, the Heemskirk is old and tired, catering very much for locals and workers from local mines. Accommodation is clean and better than basic but offers only two family units with kitchen facilities. There are no facilities for children's entertainment but In-house WiFi is very good l! House-keeping staff are very cheerful and helpful, indeed the entire staff are friendly and accommodating. Food is really very good, well priced and their Parmi night draws a crowd of locals as well.
DO NOT miss the Heritage museum it is truly amazing.

L. L.Our family made a last minute decision to continue on to Zeehan when Corinna was so overpriced. This Motel was wonderful. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. But dinner at the bistro was the stand out.
B. T.This motor hotel has the basics that you need for a comfortable over night stay. A bit tired looking on the outside and inside but very considerate that there are electric blankets for the beds. The taps in the bathroom could however be fixed as I was constantly burning my hand by giving the tap a slight nodge. The bistro at this hotel is great - meals are on the pricey end but I did have a reasonably priced horse raddish and beetroot soup was by far one of the most delicious soups I have ever had in my life. Hats of the chef (and hoping it did not come out of the packet).
k. f.Decent room. Stayed in 13a and it had. Comfy beds and couches. Even a kitchen if you wanted to cook something up. The food at the restaurant was good, however a few of staff didn't have particularly good customer service skills.
W. C.Fairly old facilities but understandable since its in a small town. Good hospitality, people were very nice. Free continental breakfast so that was a plus. TV could play videos from my usb which I couldn't say for the place I stayed on Hobart. The only major complaint I have is that the refrigerator smelled pretty bad, but if you don't need to use it it's perfectly fine.
J. M.The hotel clearly doesn't make enough to update its rooms' interior design but this is fine given the superb customer service which really sells the hotel. One thing I do think needs changing immediately are the shower floor tiles, far too slippery, quite nearly hurt myself getting in. Given the fantastic customer service (and i admit beds that were way comfier than I was expecting!) I would definitely go here again if I found myself in the area.
