A. M.We held a work dinner here just prior to Christmas. The food was excellent and the service friendly and proactive. There were a lot of people there that night, with other group bookings, and whilst it was cosy, the staff were on the ball. The buffet was good value with plenty of selections for the varied tastes of our staff. We will be back 😁
A.Great buffet tea, meat was perfect and all types of bakes and veggies, seafood too, large selection of desserts, perfect for families

J. K.As usual the food was great, plenty of options for everyone and the dishes are not bland at all. Great desserts to finish with that aren't super sweet.
One disappointment, as everyone knows, one bill per table is a nightmare for large groups. As a group of 20 paying with both cash and card should be expected. To make it worse there are multiple different charges for your kids depending of their age.
Our group paid for all people who attended, but of course there was a mystery amount left over. The staff made this payment process harder then it had to be, with little cooperation.
This buffet should charge upon entry to avoid all the fuss and to ensure there are no walkouts.
Also there should be one charge for children under a certain age. Not multiple charges to further complicate things.
Was a great night until being hit with an overcharged bill and forced to pay for and extra 2 adults that did not exist.
S. E.Went 4lunch, u can order from the set menu which has a decent offering. Then we spotted the self-serve buffet, this was no crumby, food splattered, insufficient buffet. A great range of foods that would make most people happy. Sauces & toppings a plenty & then the dessert section, absolutely scrumptious. All presented in a clean & well stocked buffet.
S. W.Honestly for the price you pay the rooms are great! Upto standard. Great views. The staff were very friendly, the service was spot on. The dining and buffet down stairs is a must! (and they actually have a wide range of vegetarian options!)
Couldn't have faulted my stay and that's why i would definitely say it's 5 star budget accommodation!
R. B.There aren't many buffets in Hobart, but this is one of the better ones. The food is really good. For the price you pay, I think $28 a head, you get more than your monies worth. Great range for picky palates from veg, red meat, chicken and seafood. I liked trying a little bit of everything. The big stand out is the desserts, rich to light they all were made very well. The staff were very friendly and kind to everyone. Great for large bookings. Vegan options seemed to be lacking unfortunately, but calling ahead they would more than likely cater to vegan diets.

Service was outstanding yet friendly. Beats some other places l have eaten at round the world. Please keep up this lovely atmosphere and venue. Will be back in future visits to Hobart.

T. C.Had the buffet tonight. Food was fresh and huge variety. Also set menu available. Cannot fault a thing. Service excellent, staff friendly restaurant immaculate. But the most outstanding thing is that there was a vegan in our party and not only did the chef personally advise which food was vegan friendly, but even had dessert put aside that was just for us. Will definately be going back. AND, it was very affordable. Highly recommend.

B.Went in for the buffett lunch - you can order off a set menu also or you can have the all you can eat :) big selection of salads, not so much in the hot section, and only one roast meat (pork) but omg it was yummy !! The meat and roast vegetables were very tasty. And then you moved to the dessert side and wow ice cream, jelly, cakes, slices, mouse and pavs. Everything this side was awesome. Can not fault the friendly and attentive staff.

S. P.We went for the 1st time tonight for my hubbys 50th with friends. We thought a buffet would be easy. It was. Tasty, Easy, Yummy, Well priced. Great range, very efficient and friendly service. Very Happy and will definitely be back. Most people enjoyed the prawns and glazed ham, I'm a little fussy but was still happy and satisfied with something as Amazing and different as lamb ribs and vege spring rolls.....
To top it off they not only presented him with a lovely slab of special cake ...... they sang and H.B. was written in choc..... FREE

M. J.Quite a good range of food, I think lunchtime would be the best time to go, food dries out a bit by teatime. A bit expensive I thought at $33 a head. Seating a bit tight, very small pokies room. Only one each of male and female toilets in the dining room.

L. A.The Marquis Hotel was clean and comfortable as I expected. The meals in the bistro were good quality and reasonably priced at $12 each. The only issue was that the kettle contained rust, but for $100 a night I'd expect them to be able to replace it if you ask.

D. L.I stayed one night ams the accomodation was much better than I could have expected. Modern clean room. The best shower I habe had in any hotel for 2 star to 5 star in years. (Instant hot water good pressure and flow - they haven't used ultra low flow shosee heads to save 15c). Fantastic value gor money.
