J. S.The rooms were really comfy and clean. only down sides were at one point there were no parking spots available, and not enough body wash, shampoo and conditioner, but minor inconveniences. One of the receptionists was absolutely great and so welcoming, she should get a raise!!!!

They made the evening magical and had a whole vegan menu for us that was honestly to die for. Absolutely recommend to anyone for a lovely stay, a nice meal, or for something special like a wedding.

A. C.The staff were very friendly and helpful, and checkin and checkout were simple and quick. Checkout was also not until 11am which gave us more time in the morning. Our room was stylish, the bed was incredibly comfortable and the room was quiet. It also had great facilities if you wanted to use them. You step out the door of the Salamanca Inn and you’re at the markets, it’s a short walk to all the lovely restaurants and bars. We had a lovely time, would definitely stay again!

We also enjoyed the comfort and relaxing atmosphere of the bar area where the cocktails were excellent. Only one small problem was that I couldn't find the electric jug because it was in a cupboard that wouldn't open.

B.Very nice staff and good location. The building and amenities are getting a bit old but still very clean and large comfortable rooms. Good kitchen facilities. The restaurants and pubs nearby are great. About $50 taxi ride from the airport. Easy parking. The gym is part of a separate building, otherwise the pool and good laundry facilities are within the hotel. We'd stay here again.

M. M.For the price and location there aren’t many better. I stay here a couple of times a year and it’s always well staffed and friendly. This morning I checked in and the staff were hugely accommodating, opening the bar area early so I had a place to work quietly until my room was ready. The staff member who let me in( I missed her name) went above and beyond to ensure I had everything I needed despite the bar area not being open yet. Highly recommend especially given the generous room sizes!
C. S.Perfect and convenient location to be in Salamanca on a quiet street with parking provided. It is easy to walk almost everywhere. They offer special pricing of $8.50 (or something similar) for the yoga/pilates classes held in the fitness centre across the road ("at The Studio"). I didn't get a chance to try the classes as I woke up late each day and then was out exploring all day. One suggestion is that I hope to see them replace their toiletries with reusable/refillable bottles to cut down on waste/plastic.

C. M.We had a double story apartment to sleep 4 and the only toilet was on the second floor up 14 steep stairs. Annoying when you need the toilet in the middle of the night and you're sleeping downstairs. Definitely wouldn't recommend this type of room for people with mobility issues or small children due to the stairs. Other than that the apartment was comfortable, well appointed, tiny bit of traffic noise but not too bad. Good location, very close to lots of cafe's, bars and restaurants. Short walk to Salamanca quay.
K. S.My partner and I stayed for a night and we booked a King room. We loved it and wished we were staying longer. The whole place was lovely and staff friendly. The room was spacious and had everything you could possibly need, also had a kitchen and it was spotless. Fantastic restaurant, we will be going back.
H. M.The Salamanca Inn was an amazing place to stay at while in Hobart. A short walk from Salamanca Place, Salamanca Square and the Hobart Waterfront, the location is fantastic. The rooms were very spacious, and the kitchen was useful. The pool was fantastic and the beds and lounges were comfortable. I only have a few criticisms -
- Shower was very hard to find a good temperature
- Breakfast was average, nothing special
- The walls didn't block out all the noise
- Rooms appeared slightly dated
- One lift broke down for a period, and the other lift couldn't cope with all the visitors to the hotel, only able to take up to 7 people at once.
But that's about the end of it.
Very, very nice place, would definitely stay here again.
Edit: In response to your request, I was staying with the Tournament of Minds NSW group (so I didn't really mind about the noise) in room 306 from Thurs 24th to Sun 27th inclusive.

Great location, especially for the restaurants and bars (I can recommend the Whaler Inn), along historic Salamanca Place and which has a weekly market. Otherwise a short walk to the Supreme Court.
J. A.Great location. Be sure to check out the irish pub down the block. Lots of great food and beer on tap. We enjoyed the enclosed pool and hot tub with our kids. Very refreshing after a hot day! Some shopping nearby, a great Wursthaus deli and a shaded park near the water good for picnicking.

E. J.We stayed at the five bed family suite. At first i didnt like it because of the strong paint smell and weak ventilation in the bathroom. But when it finally dissipated, i was able to appreciate our room more. 5 adults stayed in the room and we had enough space. Housekeeping was even on point. Everyone in my group loved our room. We do suggest in their future projects, to put the bathroom in the ground floor as it was difficult to keep climbing up the stairs just to pee at night 😂 overall we enjoyed our stay and everyone was lovely. Oh, location was really good too, in between everything in the city.

J. K.My daughter and I had 3 nights at this hotel in November. The location is great being so close to the wharf and Salamanca markets. The room was larger than most hotels with a small kitchenette. A few things to be aware of though. It does mention on the website that the hotel car park entrance on Gladstone Street is inaccessible on Saturday when the markets are on but I don’t recall seeing this information when I booked through qantas and I think it should be made clear by reception staff at check in. I returned from the Domain Parkrun on Saturday to find myself blocked off from the hotel. Also be aware that administration is quaint and reminiscent of the 90’s. I asked for a late check out on the Sunday so I could have a shower after the Point to Pinnacle half marathon which I only found out about the day we arrived and decided to enter. I was told this might be difficult and was up to housekeeping. By Saturday evening I still couldn’t obtain an answer and was told they might be able to let me know in the morning. I wrote an email that I asked to be sent to the manager stating that as I had booked and paid for three nights surely It wasn’t unreasonable to request a late check out at 12. I was fortunately granted a late check out at 11 and Sure enough right on 11 someone from housekeeping was knocking at the door albeit with a smile.
Possibly because I had booked through a third party I could not be accommodated with twin beds and our view was a large aircon unit (I think that’s what it was).
Despite all this, the hotel being so conveniently located with a larger than normal living area, I was happy to recommend the hotel to my son who is travelling around Tasmania and will be in Hobart for his birthday. He wanted to be as close as possible to the markets. I tried to pay for the night in advance over the phone only to be told I could not do so and they would have to send a form for me to fill in via standard mail. This was terribly disappointing and in the end I cancelled the booking. I had no difficulty paying in advance over the phone at another hotel. Room wise 3.5 stars. The staff were pleasant but not particularly helpful or flexible.
C.Excellent hospitality shown by the staff working here, especially the breakfast staff, I do strongly recommend getting breakfast-included as your mornings will be stress-free. The 2 guests room is large with a big TV, big bed and space to even do yoga(I love it in the mornings). Always be ready for windy weather, because walking 5-10 minutes can get you to numerous bars, restaurants, goverment buildings, office buildings but wind can be a little issue during the winter. 3 minutes from Salamanca Inn can get you to multiple Asian cuisine restaurants, an Irish bar, walk 5 more minutes past a beautiful park (upwards the hill)and there also is dominos pizza and further Maccas, but I cannot give any ratings for Maccas because I havent tried it....yet. Great room, good food around the hotel, decent price and a good place for families, couples, groups and solo's exploring this fast changing world.
P. S.The customer service and where it is awesome at this place, I travel frequently in business and pleasure and these guys are spot on.
They have WiFi, movies for the kids and pool spa with free laundry facilities plus you can cook in your room. Restaurant like always is perfect for a steak.

If you are there over the weekend you are literally 50 metres from the markets. Enjoy!!!! We have returned to Hobart to fly back home and took the opportunity to stay another night . It's so good as there are restaurants at the bottom of the street and a short drive to the airport.

F.On entrance to the Salamanca Inn I felt like it was a really nice, almost fancy restaurant, but as we walked around the corner into the dining room it felt like an ordinary, middle class restaurant. Once we were presented the menus it once again felt like an upper class place. I felt that the meals were expensive for what the restaurant was.
v.So clean so warm and friendly ,pool and spa were amazing, you couldn't get any closer to Salamanca market if you tried, great cooking facilities in room and bathroom was huge but bath and shower combo was very tiny area and could of been so good in such a large area so I only gave 4 stars ✨

S. C.Deluxe Family apartment has good large living areas, bed rooms and kitchen. Staff and house keeping where very friendly and provided prompt service. However I felt the the apartment very sparse, lacking in futurnatings and atmospheric lighting, like lamps and dimmable lights. A few maintenance items had to be called out which indicates a lack of management overdight. Parking was also and issue due to size and space for large SUV. The apartment is also located opposite the main hotel which limits access and motivation to other hotel services, like the pool and spa. If a stay is planned here would recommend contacting the revesvations manager and negotiating and better rate.

k. w.My fiance and I stayed here for a single night; we paid around for $280 for a spa suite. The room had views over Hobart and the Derwent River, which was lovely, and all the facilities were very modern.
We were impressed by the iPod dock, the bathroom's spa and rainfall shower, and the swimming pool and spa downstairs (although we found the pool a little too cold).
The room was actually a little large for us; a spa suite with just a bed and wi-fi access would have been fine. Although we didn't end up using it, there was wi-fi and computer access. The rooms were a little too spacious, but for those staying longer the suites are very beautiful and comfortable. Would definitely stay there again.
