This place felt like home and being surrounded by a family. I'm so glad I found them just after the lockdown. Be careful cause you might never want to leave this place 😁
Matt the owner is so kind and always ready to help ,the volunteers were amazing. There is always something planned to go out together or chill at the house with a movie or any other social activity
The family dinner on Wednesday night is a great idea to meet everyone and socialize
I met real friends and great people there and it is one of my best travel memory
All the best LP I'll come back for sure 😊🌞

I don't know where to start.
This place is the most amazing hostel I've been to in the world.
There is such a good energy in the hostel. The owner matt knows exactly what he's doing.
I wanted to stay for 5 days and moved to a house later on. But came back after a month because i missed it.
I stayed for around 8 months.
We've been to a couple of lockdowns.
Matt arranged everything super well around covid safety.
Thank you so much matt.
This experience I will never forget
I highly recommend people to stay in this hostel.

I stayed at LP for seven months. Here’s what I think:
Form the start, Booking was easy, staff are well trained, they welcomed me and introduced me to everyone, showed me the place and explained the rules and how everything works in the hostel ( laundry, kitchen, bedrooms). Most staff (aka friends) live in hostel so I was well looked after. The hostel is very well managed. Cleaning is done on time. Kitchen, toilets and common areas are cleaned everyday. Bedrooms are cleaned once a week. Smoking is only allowed in the backyard. Sanitisers are provided and covid instructions are followed (on side note F covid).
The owner (he’s a genius) makes sure staff are doing their job, does maintenance and spends whatever time left with the guests. I was given LP phone number to message in case I needed anything in regard to my stay at the hostel.
There are events/activities happening almost everyday so it’s really difficult to get bored. Events are managed by the hostel’s staff or guests. Family dinner and movie night are happening every week same time, other activities vary depending on the time day and availability of guests and staff. Some events and competitions come with rewards which is awesome. Parties are fun:). Events board is in the kitchen if you need to find out what is happening on that week.
LGBTQIA+ and all races are respected here (It’s a safe place). Activities make bonding with others an easy task. Location is perfect, amazing restaurants and parks around. I loved walking to Merri Creek and stopping by CERES. Very Good Falafel, A1 Bakery, Green Acre Pizza (discounts on Tuesday). Indian and middle eastern grocers + many tiny hidden gems that you need to move your legs and explore to find them. Heaps of OP shops. Woolies, Coles, Aldi (F Aldi, don’t go there), Kmart, Bunnings. Tram and bus are just around the corner, train station is 5 mins walk. Neighbourhood is cool, join its fb group so you stay connected to people around, they’re kind and helpful. I learned a lot here and made many friends, most likely will visit again for short stay. Seriously, thank you LP.
I hope this helps you, may you have a good stay and your bedroom to be free of earsplitting snores <3.

My boyfriend and I stayed at this hostel for almost 4 months! It became our home for our time in Melbourne. The hostel was great and really felt more like a sharehouse than a hostel which is a big reason why we stayed at long as we did! They clean the hostel every day so it is always very clean, the kitchen, bathrooms, showers etc. The kitchen had all you needed and felt like an apartment because sometimes you were lucky and had it to yourself! They have two stove tops, an oven, toaster, microwave, blender, kettle, fridge, freezer! They always had events going on with movie night Monday and Family dinner on Wednesdays which was always nice to join in on when you're around! The location is right near the tram which makes it easy to go to the CBD about a half hour tram journey. It's right around the corner from Dejour jeans which is must stop! The gym hammer house was a couple blocks down on Sydney road which was great for backpackers. Overall had a great stay and met some really friendly people! Would definitely recommend.
I do have to note they clean the kitchen in the mornings so they close it so check what time it is every morning and just be sure to avoid it during those times. As well, as a suggestion the showerhead upstairs in one of the bathrooms works but it could be upgraded!

We love the hostel! It has a really cool family vibe, very clean and they even provide you with a bag and space for your food, the staff is super friendly, specially Lo, we love her! They also have events going on each day, we even extended our stay to be part of family dinner and it was the best! The hostel really nail the service, Brunswick is a really cool area to explore as well, a big thank you to all the staff that made our stay awesome <3

Best hostel I've stayed in, in Australia! Checked in for 3 days but ended up staying 4 months. The kitchen is super modern, everything is really clean, and the people are so friendly. Matt the owner goes out of his way to make it a great environment to live in. Thanks for having us, no doubt we'll be back ☺️

I lived in this hostel for over a month and it felt me like be at home from many points of view. Basically the hostel is a big and comfortable share house where all the spaces are very useful and practical. There are also more than one outdoor spaces if you love spend your time outside and enjoy the fresh morning air or the warm sunset sun. Another of many advantages of this place is undoubtedly the location in one of the coolest suburbs of melbourne just two steps from Sydney road where you can find everything you need. But the strong point of this place is the staff because they are always available for all your needs and in addition to be beautiful people with whom you can honestly compare yourself, all of them are also great beer- pong mates. I literally loved this place so I want to recommend it to everyone. If you are in Melbourne and if you want to enjoy your time in the better way you absolutely have to stop at Lading Pads !

Super dedicated staff who are always up for a chat. Clean rooms and shared areas. And a hole lot of amazing shared experiences on the road, round the table and exploring the city. Stayed here for 3 months. Would definitely recommend staying here on your travels.

I stayed at Landing Pads for one week on my arrival in Melbourne. It is a great place to stay and will definitely be referring friends to stay. Clean, friendly, well organised, great atmosphere.
Something to do every night of the week. Matt the owner has really nailed the hostel concept. 👍

I was going through a really rough stage throughout covid and ever since I arrived to this hostel I felt so welcome and happy. I only spent a few days here but it was a truly an amazing hostel with such friendly staff. I highly recommend Landing Pads Brunswick to anyone as you won't regret it.

Great starting point if you want to visit Melbourne. Be careful though, you might end up staying there forever!
The people living and working there are amazing and there will be plenty of things you can do together with them. Some of the people there have been around Melbourne and Australia for a long time and are very happy to explain and show you how things work here.
The Rooms here vary greatly (7 in total) so it will be hard to give a decent review. In general I would say the space is tidy, clean and looked after. There is also always staff around, so you can give suggestions and complaints.
You should consider staying at this hostel if you want to find a job in Melbourne. There are many people who were/are looking for a job as well so they can be a great support.

G'day there, Jacob here ;) I really enjoyed the stay at your hostel. During to the current situation, the hostel wasn't busy or full, which I really liked. Everyone was friendly and the atmosphere was calm and relaxed, like in a family. I also liked the events like family dinner, movie night, D&D (Grimram died in honor! ) and the secret friend event organized by Nico. Overall, the hostel was exactly what I was looking for my last few weeks.
I wish you all the best, cheers!

I've lived here for four months now and I can't recommend it enough. Homey vibes, nice and friendly people, one of the cleanest and best maintained hostels I've even been to in all the time I've been traveling around Australia. Also, it's a good place to start and settle down in the city, even if it's only for a short while.

Cannot recommend LP enough! From the moment I first got there it felt more like a home away from home than a hostel. Being a small hostel you get to know everyone quickly and you really get drawn into the family atmosphere around the place. All the staff - Matt, Jess, Lorena, Amber, Sam, Xavier, Looci and Maddie - are so friendly and helpful. Located less than a minute's walk from the tram stop down to the CBD and just off Sydney Road which has enough restaurants and supermarkets to cater for anyone's tastes as well as a number of bars to go for drinks or see live music most nights of the week. It was an absolute wrench leaving at the end.

I had a great experience staying at Landing Pads Melbourne! Very cool people, chill atmosphere, clean and hospitable (also still constantly being improved upon!). It’s located in the trendy suburb of Brunswick which has lots of cafes, bars and thrift shops! Would highly recommend this hostel to anyone looking for a chilled out Melbourne experience.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again and again: Landing Pads is a magical fortress filled with magical people. From the very moment I arrived at Landing Pads, I felt comforted and welcomed with open arms. Every staff member and guest at LP is incredibly kind, caring, and has something to offer...whether it be a laugh or a hug when needed. What was supposed to be a week-long stay, turned into four amazing months. I have met life-long friends and have become the person I have always wanted to be since staying at LP. I have never felt so loved and so supported before my time here. My time at Landing Pads is something I will forever cherish and remember.
To the staff- thank you so much for your warmth, care, and compassion. All of you are so amazing and I'm so grateful for this experience.
I will always consider Landing Pads a home.
Much, much love ,
Nina <3

Feels like home. The staff and guest where so welcoming as I arrived there. Its a small hostel what makes it even more cozy, +10 to housekeeping, +10 to location (tram stop 100mts away, a supermarket 200mts away, awesome Daddy bar just in diagonal, beautiful coffe places and lots of vintage stores and full of food places as well) The hause Capitans are always cheering people to do awesome and fun activities every day to blend the guests. The beds are quite comfortable for a hostel and there also is a lot of storage space. I booked my stay for 1 week and end up staying 4 months. I'm so happy to have chosen Landing Pads, got a little home and big family and that is just priceless. Couldn't recommend Landing Pads more. So if you are a traveler that needs a place to stay for a short period, don't go to LP cause you'll be stuck there for weeks!! Haha. Seriously, Thank you Matt and Jess!! You are awesome at what you do <3

I absolutely ADORE Landing Pads and all of their staff! (Lorena, Amber, Jess, Alex, Sam, Francesca, Xavier, you know who you are...) This hostel really isn't a hostel at all, it's a place to call home during your travels. Ideal for long term travelers, Landing Pads is THE place to finally rest your head and unpack your backpack, providing a cozy, clean, and friendly environment, with ample and excellent facilities, and located in a wonderfully weird and artsy suburb north of CBD. I love Landing Pads, and you will, too <3

Pretty dope. Some employees live there so they are invested in cleaning up that's pretty dope. Good for long term, the community is more like a co-op than a hostel. Pretty dope community without seeming like cheesy get to know people events. This is my first ever google review. You are welcome google overlords.

Best hostel in Australia! You'll feel totally at home and make the best of friends here. Feels more like a home than a hostel. Maybe hard to get a space staying there, but that makes total sense considering how great it is.

I enjoyed staying at LP Brunswick. The staff was really nice and welcoming. There was family dinner Wednesday night as well as other activities. There's also an espresso machine!
