The hotel knew there were 3 guests but the toiletries were just enough for once person. We had to request a 3rd bed and extra supplies. No music in the hotel, no one at the bar to serve us, no alcohol in the room bar fridge, no free biscuits or lollies in the room, the shower in the room had no door and got the whole bathroom wet and no magazine or information pamplets in the rooms to guide us through the city.

W.My husband travels to Melbourne for work regularly and we normally stay at the Westin or Marriot (Bonvoy Members), however this recent trip, we stayed at the Sheraton Hotel as they offered a great deal. This was the first time we (myself, my husband, and our 1-year-old baby) stayed at the Sheraton and we were impressed on several fronts. The hotel was fully booked; yet the room was so quiet (not to mention spacious and clean). I am a light sleeper and across our seven nights stay, not once did I hear any noise at night. All the staff were polite, professional, and incredibly understanding of the challenges that comes with travelling with a baby and went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed. The rooms all have block out blinds, which were great in helping my baby nap during the day. The facilities at the hotel were decent, including the indoor pool and gym, and we had many lovely meals at the hotel’s restaurant.
My husband likes to tell me that I am a bit of a fussy traveller, as I like to be comfortable – and the staff were lovely in dealing with all my requests and in helping make things comfortable for my 1-year-old baby. Tanuj was the manager during our stay, and he really went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed the week, and nothing was too much trouble – a sentiment we really appreciated. Leo was also fantastic throughout the week and went out of his way to ensure we had everything we needed. I would definitely recommend the Sheraton to anyone looking at staying in Melbourne city and look forward to staying there again soon. Thanks to the team.

The breakfast menu is also good even though I expect the buffet type breakfast but due to Covid restriction, we can only have an ala carte menu. Originally we chose the hotel partly because of the 15(?) meter lap pool, and that didn't disappoint, very clean water and surrounds, not too cold, very nice to swim in. Both stays were two nights. On the second stay, just completed, we booked a twin queen room, which was nice and spacious. Bad points - the room clock had been left set on a 630am alarm and it duly went off on the first morning. Grrrrrr. I unplugged it, but the housemaid plugged it in again, so I unplugged it again for the second night. Informed reception, but they didn't seem to see it as a problem. Grout in bathroom is looking a little worse for wear/grubby in some parts. There are no personal reading lights above bed, just spots in ceiling, and you can only have them on or both of them off at the same time, so if one party wants to read, the other has to stare into a light. Pajamas weren't folded when room was made up (not a biggie, but every other place we have stayed at does it, so why not the Sheraton? Maybe it's a COVID restriction?). Good points - Internet is a bit clunky to connect, ditto getting streaming going to the TV from my phone, but once connected it's the best quality TV and image I have experienced in a hotel room. Have already mentioned the pool, which is very good indeed. Good places to eat almost directly outside, esp. the excellent Argentinian restaurant and the breakfast place on the corner of Spring St. The hotel's Little Collins Cafe still isn't open (the website is bit misleading in this respect). The first floor bar/buffet looking very inviting although we didn't use it (probably will next time). Reception staff very welcoming and helpful, so full marks to them. The drinks bar (can't remember the floor) was good for a pre-dinner drink. Would we stay again? Absolutely yes.

C. S.I'll break this review into two parts: the hotel itself first and the level 3 spa second.
Check-in was quick and easy, with a Wilson car park just across the road that can be validated at the hotel reception. The room itself was clean & spacious, with a nice atmosphere and a reasonable view of the MCG. Room service was quick and efficient as well. Our room was upgraded free-of-charge on check-in, which was a nice surprise.
Sadly, the room was very warm. Two phone calls to reception during the night didn't seem to fix the issue, so a very sleepless and uncomfortable night followed. The room service selection for food all seemed quite expensive, so I recommend to check out the local restaurants, many of whom deliver to the hotel.
The breakfast the following morning was terrible. The omelette was overcooked, with an unusual aftertaste. The singular, unbuttered slice of bread upon which the omelette was placed made the meal look like something more likely to be served in a hospital. The eggs Benedict was OK.
For a silver lining, the hotel removed some of our room service bill upon hearing of our issues.
The experience itself was a disappointment, and were it not for the spa, this review would likely be lower.
The spa was the saving grace of the whole experience. We had a couple's massage, which included a facial, full body scrub and a full body massage for 90 minutes. It was delightful, peaceful and left both of us feeling more relaxed than either of us had been for some time.
As a spa, I couldn't fault it. As a hotel, I've stayed in nicer accommodation for less, so I'd recommend looking elsewhere.

We had two double beds in our room. Very comfy. Lovely smart TV. Bathroom is wonderful with a gorgeous step-in shower right next to the bath, complete with retractable blinds for privacy from the bedroom (probably more ideal for couples than families).
The pool is a genuine lap pool, but fun. 1.2m deep and around 20m long. It runs direct into the spa, which isn't the hottest but is nice nonetheless. Steam room as well and plenty of towels. Massage service on site as well.
Breakfast buffet is good. Chicken Sausages actually taste like chicken and aren't rubbery, like in many other hotels. Loses points for not offering complementary coffee/hot chocolate, though I might be mistaken. Coffee machine is dreadful - tasted like watery milk. Mostly western fare for breakfast, except for rice congee, which doesn't have chipped spring onion or croutons/oily bread stick prices - should really lose another point for that.
Parking can be included in your package - park in the Wilson car park opposite, and have the ticket validated by the concierge on departure.
Family friendly, splendid location and great stay!
P.S. An unfortunate P.S., as I was incorrectly charged $25.00 for a mini-bar item that we didn't have (white wine). The hotel was very nice about it, saying they would remove the $25 charge, but I'd strongly recommend double-checking your invoice and the mini-bar before you leave. Shame - takes a bit of the lustre off the stay.

N. v. d. N.We decided to spend Christmas 2019 here for three nights. The people who work here are so friendly, so capable, so lovely and downright helpful. The rooms are truly spectacular, which you'd expect at this price point. And by Australian standards, a good check out time (11am - in contrast to midday in most parts of the world but a standard 10am in Australia). The steam room here is amazing. You have to check it out. And we had service to take out luggage to our rooms.
However....
The air conditioning in our room suffered from a big lack of control, and led to uncomfortable temperatures. When sleeping in a hotel, I like a nice 19 degrees. But there was no way to increase/decrease the temperature beyond 3 degrees +/-. We reported this and they did send a technician and tried to fix it from a central control board - but they were unable to. Leading to our whole stay being a little uncomfortable. Also, the pool is small and shallow. The spa is connected, so is not a hot spa. There is also no onsite parking - so you must leave your car offsite (though to be fair the hotel does offer a discounted rate). There is a real unclear location to check in and park for cars - there seems only room for 2 cars which can be used by the public anyhow - and limited signage to indicate this is where you park for check in. The beds were nice, but can I say, maybe too luxurious? I sank into the bed (I like a little firmness) and sank into the pillows which overheated my head - which in addition to the air conditioning problems, led to some uncomfortable nights. The bathrooms however, are lovely. They just suffer from a lack of water pressure. The view is restricted by some opaque cladding and there is no balcony (at least on our room).
The breakfast buffet is nice, but nothing spectacular to set it apart from other 4 (or even 3) star hotels.
Another positive is the service. The people are incredibly helpful and friendly and willing to assist wherever and however they can. Also, two lovely glasses of champagne on arrival!
I think the Sheraton is a name from which one expects something special - especially is a Marriott brand. Unfortunately, this Sheraton could be doing much better.
