We went to the Bistro here for dinner a few nights ago and I am so happy to have found this place. Ever since moving to Perth I have been on the hunt for a local, down to earth pub with good food and a good atmosphere and I have finally found it. We were really impressed with everything here - the food was absolutely amazing and the prices are u believably cheap. I paid only $20 for my fish and chips and it was so nice. Not oily or covered in thick batter, just beautiful fresh, light fish and a lovely salad and chips to go with it. My partner had the grilled fish and was 10/10 happy with that too. The portion sizes were very generous, especially considering the low cost and high quality, the seating and tables were comfortable, the Coke was given to us in cans (with glasses) which I am a big fan of for avoiding flat coke that you often get on tap and all of the staff that we encountered were really lovely and welcoming. The menu was quite extensive with lots of nice looking things I’ll try in future and they also have a buffet which is a cool option. I did also notice a cocktail menu that had some really amazing sounding cocktails on it. I didn’t try any this time but I will another night and update the review. I very rarely find cocktails that I like but these all sounded great so that’s another big tick. All in all, this is just a really great place and I’ve lived down the road from it for many years without ever really noticing it so I’m glad we finally did.

Saturday visit to play pool and lunch. Pool games are $2 each. Recommend to take your own pool cue as those there are expected standard for the sports bar. Staff are friendly and atmosphere is relaxed. Bayswater train station located across the road. Have been here before and will visit again.

A yearly event for the royal show. Train station straight across the road takes you straight to the show and back. Nothing better than the buffet after a long day. Big screen tv's and a few drinks before returning to our family room. Modern and comfortable with big modern bathroom separate room for the kids.

Fairly run-down, not particularly appealing pub. Staff were disorganised and seemed understaffed for a Saturday lunch. Food and drinks were average. I had BBQ pork ribs which were tender but not particularly tasty. Missing any hint of time spent charring on an actual BBQ. Chips were good, coleslaw decent. Mimosa was cheap but disappointing. My partner's meal was completely forgotten about, despite two follow-ups on our end; ended up getting a refund for his meal.

The Bistro at Bayswater Hotel has started offering Buffet lunch/dinner again after a year long absence. The venue is huge and has a wide variety of seating options and two bars. Initial service was chaotic and confusing on a busy Friday night - hosting table at the entrance was vacant and people were incorrectly lining up at the bar to pay for the buffet - but eventually found a friendly cashier adjacent to the buffet that sorted everything out. Buffet selection is mostly great - a full salad bar and a selection of about 5 or 6 hot dishes, some surprises in the hot dishes (chicken parmigiana, lamb shanks, fish and chips) which makes the prospect excellent value for money. Replenishment of food was a bit slow, but I suspect Friday dinner is one of their busier services and having only just started back up again this may improve in time. No desserts available on the buffet apart from fresh cut fruit or fruit cocktail which was the only element that I found underwhelming - even one dessert option would have been great. As for drinks, Feral Draught at $7/pint is excellent value, although pricing of the other taps was all over the place - e.g. VB at $12.50 but Biggie Juice at $13? Pretty standard pub ambiance. Live music was at just the right volume, something that many venues struggle to get right. Easy parking on adjacent roads. Would recommend and will definitely come back.

We attended a private function there and staff were great. Very helpful. Stayed overnight in one of their rooms. More than adequate for a night's stay. Only criticism really is the pillows. For us they were a bit too firm and have a neck and shoulders ache at the moment. Apart from that all was very pleasant. Breakfast was great. The pizzas are definitely worth a try as well whether dining in or taking away.

Best breakfast 7 days a week from around 6.30am till 11am. (Double check that but correct on 10/1/21) big breakfast is huge. Coffee or milkshakes are spot on. Always a steady flow but never crowded. I really liked this hotel. Located right next to Bayswater station great access to the city by train. The rooms are modern and comfortable and spacious. Downstairs is the pub with a food available. We arrived late from Sydney and was 9.45pm. I think the normal chef finished for the day however the supervisor on duty was able to cook the pizzas, it wasn't a problem. Coming from Sydney were it's a stuff you attitude, this was really wonderful to see. And the pizzas were nice. I highly recommend the Quality Bayswater.

Excellent pub, standard pub menus with their own touch, economically priced and great services. Family friendly as it has a small playground for the kiddies in the beer garden. Went there for my daughter's birthday and found the restaurant area to have great value for money buffet with the option of ordering off their menu as well. Their $10 wood fired pizzas are awesome, and the other menu items are delicious. Bayswater Hotel is a great venue for families and for a quick beer. It's probably most famous for it's drive through, which is open until late. The food here is pretty good, and the buffet is definitely recommended - alot of variety and very decently priced. The ambience is a bit lacking, and it has a very old school pub style atmosphere - could definitely do with a renovation. It's close to the train station, and has the bottle shop on the side, so it's worth a quick drink for when you want your night to go elsewhere.

Meals here are very good but you can overdo it if you get the buffet, I usually make it one plate only but it's there if you want more.you can get a wood fired pizza in the evening for $10, more than enough for one person but you have to stick to the menu and pay at the register. This type of pizza may not be to everyones taste but variety is the spice of life and your taste buds do like a little exercise, that's how we learn to like different foods.

Stayed here as it was close to family. It was very comfortable, clean, warm and the room we had was in the old Art Deco part. It was full of character and spacious. The Bayswater train station is across the road and very convenient to get into the city on the train. There is a Brasserie downstairs.

Went for Tuesday seafood buffet for 1st time on 4/7/2017. Got there 15 minutes late but was still treated well and shown to table. We were assisted with baby seat and seating adjustments for our 3 girls under 5. An improvement at this stage would be to explain how the payment and service system works. After figuring it out, paid $33+ per person for my wife and I and hit the buffet. There are fresh oysters, fresh prawns, smoked salmon, an array of salads and cold meats, cheese, crackers, fruits and nuts for the cold section and on the hot foods, were Chilli mussels, beef ravioli, pork belly, beef ribs, Chilli crabs, baked snapper in cream sauce, beer battered fish, seafood chowder/cream sauce, garlic butter clams etc. So the review: Ambience - 7/10 - lots of space, decor is a little weathered, lots of people busy eating, not a romantic hangout. Food - 8/10 - the food was decent and flavors were there. The cold seafood was surprisingly fresh and the cooked chili crabs and clams were pleasingly fresh too. Variety is limited which is why the score isn't more than an 8. I am also comparing with like for like offerings, and for a bistro, definitely a well deserved 8. Service - 7/10 - it was busy, so I did not expect much. With that being said, there are smiles and a friendly response back. My wife and I will be back.

Been looking for a value place for business for ages. This is the one for me. Here is a little business hack. Buy an electric scooter and jump on the bike path straight outside the hotel. You will be in the CBD in 10 minutes (which is quicker than car or train) and you can carry the scooter into your office. The place is a great mix between authentic Australian characters propping up the bar to families enjoying the buffet + quiet rooms that are of a Mercure standard. It's not for those with a sense of high self worth - but thats fine by me because they will ruin the ambiance anyway.
