I. G.Great hostel! Stayed here for just shy of a week and had a great time! The facilities are really good, with one of the most feature-rich kitchens I've seen in a hostel (ovens and gas hobs... Unreal!). The common areas were large and plentiful, movie room, large dining room, pool etc. Couldn't ask for much more. Could imagine it'd be a great place for living longer term also, not just for the short term like myself. Loved the location, stones throw away from everything! 24 hour reception so I always felt safe and secure. Could not fault it! Stay here!

Had a blast at the Billabong, quite a busy hostel so easily made many friends from around the world, the kitchen is spacious with all the amenities needed, they have a great pool area with picnic tables where everyone relaxes and met other people. I found the staff to be welcoming and helpful if i had any question. if im ever back in Perth ill definitely be back.

J. N.Basic double room for $45/night - good value. Mostly friendly staff, a couple ladies were super helpful! Unfortunately the wifi does not reach all the rooms and even in the common areas it was really really slow. Lovely to have tea and coffee always available. Pool is an added bonus. They close the kitchen completely at 10 which is a little early but also keeps drunk people from munching on your food.
C. T.Loved that they have free breakfast. Love that they have 5-dollar meal to buy for dinner. Love that they have a pool. I did not like that they don't have proper sun chairs and that they only clean the rooms 1 time per week. They should at least clean 2 times per week and the walls should've been made more soundproof. So if you like to live in a quiet place don't go here. They're like no sockets in the rooms and there really should be AC in all rooms and not only AC's that make such an awful sound that you can't sleep.
M. W.good price, bus at door to take you into Perth central. nice outdoor area and cheap meals available. also big plus for providing a shower chair. quiet. draw back was no TV in room. and bedding was dated and had to make own beds, no towels provided. I'd stay again.
P. W. (.This is a good central and safe place to be. I got a private room to myself which was absolutely huge and had a nice bathroom and a balcony to relax on.
Downstairs do breakfast and dinner for $5 each and there is a great area around the pool to relax in. Public transport is right out the front and the staff here were so lovely. The pool area and media rooms are great.... great value for money.
S. C.It was almost two years ago that I arrived to Perth from Spain and moved to Billabong Backpackers as a "temporary" acommodation place. I ended up staying in there for a full period time of 8 months and being able to call that place HOME. It is a GREAT place with very kind staff which will help you anytime, very friendly and easy-going environment with people all over the world. Amazing place that I will always remember with a big smile.

Basic free bread and cereal breakfast. Car park and pool are great. Most rooms are nice even though some need some refurbishment. 15 minutes walk away from CBD. In my opinion the staff are the hostel's greatest asset :)

P. H. C.Such a great hostel! The best i ever stayed at! Nice and clean rooms, that get cleaned regularly! Such a friendly environment, a place to meet people and stay for a longer time. They even provide a good dinner everyday for only $5 and breakfast is included! Furthermore it is only a short walk to the city and has a park to relax and workout in just around the corner! A lot of people are staying there longterm, so it is the perfect place to settle and work for a while.And the best thing is they even have a pool!! As you can probably tell it's a hostel i can only suggest

K.Plenty on offer with the free breakfast, $5 dinners are substantial, plenty of cosy chill out space, and the main dining area is set up well to easily meet people, the poolside gives a great summer holiday vibe, my room was very spacious, the whole place is cleaned regularly and it's very central. I'm looking forward to coming back.
B. H.Staff is friendly enough but the facilities aren’t clean and their services are subpar - you have to make your own bed & take it down, yet the price is similar to ones with full service.
Breakfast is Cocoa Puffs, corn flakes, muesli, toast w/ strawberry & apricot jam.
Communal area isn’t very welcoming.
Pool area is gross and freezing.
A. M.When I am back in Perth and have business in the city I often opt to stay here. Its quite the busy hostel, however free parking, free breakfast. The rate per night is cheaper than parking in the city for a couple hours. It is well located. In the summer time they have some really cool pool activities going on.
J. S.The hostel was a lot of fun! The staff are amazing and they made our stay perfect! It is clean and the rooms are nice with private bathrooms. There is plenty to do including a pool. Overall I would definitely not stay anywhere else.

Could easily be 5* if they paid a bit more attention to the details, e.g. providing towels in double rooms and create a more comfy atmosphere in the common area. Extra perk are the 5 dollar meals as well as good laundry facilities.
X. B. V.Shower sometimes had no hot water, kitchen is messy because guests dont wash their stuff, matress was uncomfortable. Pool area is nice, balcony was appreciated and free breakfast is definitely a plus. Decent hostel, but nothing to go crazy about.
T. M.During my time there they hired a new ***ager and i saw this hostel go through alot of cool changes. Location was brilliant with the 950 bus stop right outside the door. A lot of noise so if you want to sleep well it's not a good idea to stay here.
A. A.This was the fist place I lived in when I moved to Australia. I was hooked in by the word resort I did not care about the price I just wanted to live comfortable and the website photos looked amazing. Honestly this is my personal opinion they should not sell it as a resort because is not that special but not that bad too is jus ok , just another hostel. The staff was ok friendly enough and helpful. I was new in the country and thought I was getting a good deal until a friend told me for the price you pay here you can rent your own room. The hostel is in perfect location and easy access of transport and also close to the city so I still recommend it just don't let the resort thing get to your head it is a hostel after all and good place to start with for short time accommodation but I also recommend you compare with other places, I discovered later on the was other better and affordable places in the city. living in a hostel can be fun and can also be a nightmare so always good idea to research before committing.

T. M.The rooms were good and having an en suit was a bonus. People there was friendly. A lot of people stay at the billabong for the pool but if you could see it, you wouldn't go in. For the money I paid, I was very satisfied with it and would definitely stay here again on my next visit.
T. M.We have stayed in several backpackers on vacationsbut we were surprised at how little effort was put into keeping common areas at the Billabong clean. The room was spacious and facing the pool. The room was clean which i'm so content to have a sound sleep. I think they do provide for an extra cost.
p. s.Definitely one of the better hostels in Perth. $150 per week for 4 bed dorm, free breakfast, free parking, $5 evening meals, clean. No complaints.
L. M.I would like to give 4 or 5 stars, but I had a bed where I could feel all the springs from the mattress making it very uncomfortable. Not cool. Good to have breakfast in the morning and close to the city.
Also a bit more assertiveness against loud, unruly guests would be good. I know it's not easy, but that is the job.

T. M.I've stayed at a lot of youth hostels & the Billabong is by far the best. The whole place is really modern. Rooms could be doing with a lick of paint, all rooms have a balcony which you can smoke on which is good if you are a smoker.
T. M.Great place for the money. The location is great. There are people that have been living there for months and we felt like they really dont like you being there. The rooms are clean but there are far too ***y rules and regulations that make you feel as though you are a prisoner.

G.I thought this backpackers was absolutely fantastic the staff were so friendly the rooms were kept clean there's a swimming pool table tennis 8 ball pool giant connect 4and an xbox so you don't get bored tjerr is no fear of being kept up all night by loud neighbour after eleven there is barely any noise the $5 meals were very nice and filling the free breakfast was brilliant I only had two minor problems with the backpackers it was somtimes very hard to get parking in the car park and the fridges were very full

Ich hatte ein Zweibettzimmer mit eigenem Bad. Das Zimmer war sauber und hatte sogar einen kleinen Balkon. Das Frühstück war einfach, aber das ist überall in Australien wohl so. Wifi funktionierte meistens gut, zwischendurch ist es ein paar mal abgestürzt. Definitiv ein Pluspunkt ist die Rezeption, die 24 Stunden besetzt ist. So hatte ich auch keine Probleme als ich erst 23 Uhr angereist bin. Ist definitiv eins der besseren Hostels.
