Went and got water from the front desk and then was charged for it upon check out. Only Holiday Inn I have ever stayed in where you were not given complimentary water for rewards members.

S.Great stay. Arrived by train, went to city in arvo and evening then returned by train. You csn get here by train or bus, a wee walk but all fine. Great hotel with great room and facilities. S. 8.Really easy booking, good price, nice spacious rooms, even the pod coffee machine was good for a quick espresso before shooting out the door! Only gripe is the lift is really slow and floor surface of lift needs replacing (been like that for months).
A. L.Sage hotel is very conveniently located in the West Perth business district. With great views from the higher floors, to convenient public transport nearby and excellent restaurants and bars a short walk away.
From check-in to check-out the reception staff are friendly and very helpful. The restaurant serves delicious Italian food (the pizza is great). However this is yet another hotel that has decided to charge a tray fee for room service delivery, which I absolutely hate, as it discourages people from ordering room service as often as they might..
Apart from that the hotel is great with nice large rooms and super comfortable, luxurious beds.
The area gets little busy during the week, but is beautifully quite on the weekends.
Overall a highly recommended hotel.

Definitely recommended and will stay again when I'm in Perth.

Easy to reach using public transport (Perth Train station, Red Cat bus) and just a short walk from Watertown Shops and Kings Park, this hotel offers very comfortable, clean rooms and friendly service. The lovely Italian restaurant that forms part of the hotel was the perfect place to have my birthday dinner. The food was well presented, tasted delicious and the service very friendly. I would love to visit again.

We took advantage of the free bike use and rode around the city - unfortunately we ran out of time to get to King's Park. Breakfast was DELICIOUS and delivered to our door on time and piping hot. I was worried about noise as it is on Hay Street, but it had a quiet "neighbourhood" feel to it.

Comfortable bed and great water pressure in shower. Appreciated the eco cleaning option and the organic shower amenities.
Whilst somewhat quiet the heavy doors closing from neighbouring guests was very very loud.
If you book via external site then parking is $15/day, which wasn't mentioned. Parking is a Wilson parking complex a couple of minutes walk away but as I was mostly there on the weekend I parked on the street which was free and plentiful.
No pool.
Staff on front desk and cleaning staff were exceptional and very friendly. Thank you!

We find the rates of the hotel incredibly reasonable when compared with others in Perth and it is a short free CAT bus ride away from the middle of the city. The rooms are fresh, clean and modern. We really can't speak highly enough of Sage, we find it to be the best hotel in Perth.

Location is its best quality. Located in the heart of the cozy Subiaco. They also have an arranged safe covered free parking with a nearby parking service. This is extremely convenient considering that parking spaces around the vicinity is paid.
Amenities are one of their low points. They do not offer important items during a regular stay in a hotel such as a shaver and a tooth paste.
Second low point is consistency with information given by staff and prints.
Information in their television states that shavers and toothbrush are included, wifi password is a certain information from you booking but upon inquiring at the front desk, it is not the same as the initial information provided.
Not all staff members are hospitable.
View is a nice panorama of the nearby main city.
Breakfast restaurant in very conveniently placed at the foot of the hotel.
Could improve with the consistency of their all info provided and a real talk with all staff that they should be friendly ALL the time.
We picked this hotel as our wedding rendezvous point . The potential was exponential but we were disappointed and wished that our special moment could have been better.
K. N.I booked 15 nights here for a self-quarantine direction and was impressed overall with the room and staff. Would recommend this property for any length stays.
- Accomodated any requests e.g fridge is tiny, but didn't hesitate to bring up a second.
- Clarified any quarantine confusion in a prompt manner.
- Clean, neat and generous size room with full length mirror, luxurious bed and pillows.
- Cute Xmas Day and NYE gifts in breakfast/dinner orders aswell as sweet greetings on packaging.
- Generous sized toiletries, very accessible shower, fluffy towels.
- Sirloin cooked beautifully and presented immaculately on room service tray.
- Wifi extremely intermittent, do not expect connection at best of times.

K.Stayed for 5 days in a standard room. The room was comfortable, clean with a big bed and fluffy pillows. The foyer was tastefully decorated as with the restaurant. Unfortunately the hot water was not so great and I had a few cold showers morning and night, house keeping missed a day of servicing my room (I only asked twice while there, so my room was serviced once in 5 days) and there was a constant whooshing coming from what I assume were people above having showers.
R. M.Not a bad hotel and location was within walking distance of many attractions. Room was spacious, house cleaning was on point with keeping the room clean and kept. We stayed on the 9th floor and had zero issues with sound from outside. Had breakfast a few mornings but I didn’t find much value in it for the price. There are USB charging ports next to the bed, that was nice. Their showers are very open, no door just a glass panel, never did get used to that. But, I would stay here again if the price is competitive. Also a nice little park down the alley behind the hotel, great for a smoke break and to just chill.

J. B.We were touring the West Australia for a couple of weeks, and were debating where we should stay in Perth at the end. I am glad the Sage was it, since it was worth it.
The Sage room is spacious for two people, the bathroom is clean, and all the necessities are provided. The room service does the job well, and the rooms both look clean and well maintained. The staff at the reception was always friendly and willing to help.
The hotel has parking in a 3-minute-walk-away Wilson parking. While not the top of convenience, we didn't find it to be a big issue at all.
On a side note, that is not directly related to the hotel in my view (thus doesn't affect the review score) - skip the breakfast. It is offered by the in-house restaurant - Julio's - and is a skip. We have tried the breakfast, and discovered dry bread in the bread basked (which no guest may have noticed since a few had toast - we hadn't), and flies swarming the sweet pastries. The food itself was fairly standard for a hotel - scrambled eggs, bacon, beans, grilled tomatoes and potatoes - and a few cereals. The coffee is made in a coffee machine which delivers a decent cup, though it's nowhere near the standard of a proper coffee machine.
In my view, updating the food freshness and lowering the price point a bit could result in an attractive offer, though at the moment I wouldn't bother.
As for the hotel - would definitely stay again.
M.Nice clean well located hotel. Restaurant very nice and food is delicious. Walking distance parking place as part of the hotel with a confusing entrance, use the very right ramp. Hot water is an issue, staid there whole week and never fixed the problem. Noisy as hell if you sating close to the staff service entrance or because guests leaving the door closing by itself. Try the Aloft of Four Points hotels.

Told we'd been Upgraded to an 'Executive suite' upon arrival ~ (not that we needed it) we headed up to the top floor; but wait!! Sure, it's a Large room, but there was NO bench/rack on which to set-up & unpack our cases. No hooks behind doors anywhere.
Decor found to be cool, unwelcoming & bland. (No pictures on the walls to create ambience.) Come on guys!
Sadly, we found that Housekeeping staff did not replenish supplies like-for-like, such as the tea, coffee, sugar. Our bed hadn't been remade as per 'normal' accommodation standards as we know them. Enough said.
A disappointed country couple with average everyday expectations.
Sorry Sage! Having Julio's on-site with their great food choices may possibly be your saving grace.

P. E.Great place, good restaurant downstairs. The mattress though was way too soft!! Or well worn! I mentioned it during checkout that I hardly slept, but they didn't seem to care. After all, the only reason you go to the hotel is primarily for a bed and to sleep well, but I couldn't do that.
R. W.Stayed here over the Xmas/new year break and was very satisfied. Our standard king room was fairly spacious, including a large bathroom and flat screen TV. We didn't have a view but that was ok, we didn't spend much time there anyway beyond showering and sleeping. There is a CAT bus stop nearby for free travel into the city and Northbridge. On-street parking is available - but watch out for the parking inspectors! Staff were professional and courteous. This hotel is a good option for those wanting a bit more value and not minding staying a little outside the Perth CBD.
C.I stayed at the Sage Hotel West Perth in early January 2019 after travelling to Australia from the UK. I stayed here whilst I adjusted to the time zone difference and the heat (lol). I loved my time here and it was the perfect start to life down under; a comfy room, great views towards Kings Park and ideally located near to the CBD. I’d recommend staying here to anybody who values a good nights sleep and comfort. Also, the rooms smell brilliant! Which just adds to the home away from home comfort when you’re in a new country for the first time :)

O. G.Lovely modern hotel attached to a beautiful old building that contains the bar/dining area. Close proximity to Elizabeth Quay and the CBD, as well as Kings Park, and major routes to all parts of the city. Staff lovely and helpful. Food/drink on the menu at Julio's restaurant was wonderful.

A. G.I give Sage Hotel 4 star rating for a 4 star hotel. This hotel is very new, clean and very comfortable. All in all, I had a very satisfactory stay. This place WILL meet all your 4 star expectations... but DON'T expect the finer things in a 5 star hotel such as a proper gym, free slippers (none given), toothbrushes (on request only), big bar fridge that you can store your goodies (the bar fridge was extraordinarily small), balcony (none in our room), lock on the bathroom door (none in our room), shower glass door (none), digital Do-Not-Disturb display at door (cardboard version only), check-out reminder letter under door (none).. etc..
Initially, we thought that the location wasn't convenient but we were wrong. The hotel is only a few short steps to the free city bus service (Red CAT), and we could get to the city in 5 minutes and back. And the Red CAT comes every 5 mins. Free parking available 60m at Wilson's Parking. And free street parking over the weekends. Awesome.
There were some minor issues on room service over a few days, such as the crew forgot to top up the coffee machine capsules, forgot the sugar sachets, replaced 1 toilet paper roll instead of 2, and they forgot to replace the tissue box into the bathroom (because we took the tissue box to the bedside table? We needed more than 1 tissue box and expected the one in the bathroom to be replaced).
However, the staff were all very friendly, smiley and personable, which made up for any minor hiccups. For a 4 stars hotel, the room was sizeable and comfy. Will come back next time.
A. S.Very clean and nice room, was a little small and shower took a long time to get hot water. The view our room had was very nice of the city but the biggest problem was the "king bed" we should have had in our Deluxe King Room was just two single beds put together. This is a beg let down as we fell down the middle of our bed often during the night. Service was good but only one lady at reception with a long line waiting. We payed $250 for our room for one night (including breakfast) but I don't believe it was worth the money unfortunately.

T. R.Very clean, new spacious rooms. The shower was great! Views were pretty nice too. The hotel doesn't look like the picture though, it shares only a small part of this facade. Not centrally located you really need to go elsewhere for dinner. Too far to walk to Subiaco. We Ubered it. Good overnighter for couples. It was a bit noisy in the morning though with early birds in the corridors. Amenities are limited. No pool. Not suitable for families.

M. C.A hidden gem in West Perth and walking distance to Kings Park. Excellent service, lovely contemporary and modern decor and comfortable super king size bed. The quality of the in room dining food was excellent. My only complaint is they don't have a movie channel so if you want to wind down you're watching free to air TV. Despite this, I was very impressed and will visit them again.

S.I've changed this from a one star review to three not because the hotel tried anything to make this up to me but because all of the staff minus the person who woke me are really great the hotel is nice, the restaurant is great Italian food with enough use of old school ingredients and techniques to make it memorable. Love seeing cod on a menu.
I did initially give them a one star review as they woke me up, not once but twice to ask me to move rooms the next day. Inexcusable second time was nearly eleven PM my time after doing a twelve hour shift. Don't do this again please...

However, super awesome staff. Room was great. Overall amenities are good if you don't intend to spend all day there (gym is new but basic, enough to get by though right next to Kings Park so why not go for some air?). Having said that the restaurant downstairs offers some of the best Italian I've ever had and the wine list is not bad.
Only downside, no a la carte breakfast. Not a fan of buffet. Coffee is good.

R. K.The hotel is a nice quite business hotel sitting midst of small and middle companies part of west Perth. Its Italian restaurant "Julio" is located in a lovely old victorian building which is connected to the modern tower where rooms, the reception and the gym are located. The receptionists are friendly and helpful (we could checkout 2hrs later without any surcharge!). The rooms are clean and have a modern interieur with enough space. Unfortunately the hotel does not offer free water, snacks or sweets in the room. It is quiet and very peaceful. The breakfast is small bit delicious and has glutenfree options. Ask the cook to prepare a hash brown or eggs as you like. 4 Stars because it is lacking any pool amd spa facility.

C.Slight irritation that express checkout didn’t seem to be an option at 5am although the envelopes were there at 8:30am the previous morning; meant I had to deal with the person behind the counter who had no sense of urgency, which meant my Uber was waiting for 5 minutes. My only frustration was the fact that our room key stopped working at midday despite having a late checkout, and we weren't warned this would happen. T. A.Wanted an affordable, easy to organize one night get away for our anniversary. Got a very good deal on Expedia using points and then the hotel upgraded us to a deluxe room which was a nice surprise. The interior of the rooms is very modern/business which I like, the room was super quiet, had great views over the city, black out blinds, fab shower (took awhile to heat up though) and a lot of space.
We didn't eat dinner here but breakfast was included in our room right so we tried that, not a massive selection but definitely enough food and sufficient variety that just about everyone would be happy. The pastries and muffins were lovely, the baked beans so good, I need to find a recipe!
The hotel is located on a very quiet street at the extreme end of Hay street about 20 minutes walk from the Regal theatre in one direction and from the main tourist/monument/cafe section of King's Park in the other direction. So it's not right in the CBD which was fine by us.
I would definitely stay again. We've tried a number of the 5 star CBD hotels and I think the Sage is just as good for room/quiet/comfort without the huge price tag.

Just an advise. It would be great if the hotel put one staff to take care guest's vehicle from hotel to the car park and vice versa.

Had to stay in the small room for the night while being told that they would move us to the deluxe room we had booked weeks before, went out for a few hours and came back to be told that they hadn't cleaned and organized the rooms like they said they would, so we then had to wait again for them to set the room up, they tried to make up for it by giving us a free drinks voucher and entrée and starters voucher but it didn't make up for the screw around we went through for a room we had booked a month ago.
