j. R.Lovely staff do their best for you but unfortunately this place doesn't get promoted properly so there it lacks atmosphere. The entrance looks very tired. This hotel needs a good manager to attract guests
l. R.Let me start by saying, if I could give a 5 star to Sky, Emily and the team, I definitely would. We had a function at their amazing function room and oh my God!! What a service! Best service, our family and all the guests were made to feel sooo at home. I dealt with Sky from the start who took care of things for me really well upto the date of my event and co-ordination many things to make sure mum’s surprise was a success. He then introduced me to Emily who made sure my event in the evening was taken of. She made sure everyone had a meal, including the Photographer, DJ and MC! Together with Sky, they made sure the meal was served at the right time, it was soo tasty. Emily made sure everyone was satisfied! A special mention also to Lily and Diane who brought the remaining cake to my mum’s room after. They were meant to finish at 10pm but they served us still 11:30pm n made sure we were well looked after. Hannah was there and made sure my cutlery were placed nicely nicelyCannot thank you enough for making my mum’s surprise birthday a success! If anyone wants to book their event with swan river hotel, please don’t hesitate!! I. could go on and on but @swan river hotel! Did it for mum😍

Had this thought it was going to be a nightmare . But honestly from the staff at check in to staff at bar or restaurant were freindly and good customer service . Room was comfortable and clean . No utensils though . Spewing that the pool is not working given its so hot. All in all we will go back 😁. Bang for buck here

J. W.Today I became a lady who lunches. It was fabulous. We took a picture in front if the Chandelier in the foyer and sent it to our boss. The burger I had was delicious but the pork belly the lady at the next table was eating looked even better. Don't worry I'll have it next time. Thanks for having us. We'll be back.

R. N.Big thanks to manager Helen and her team for coming in Good Friday to deal with birthday party of 15 people (which had inadvertently been cancelled..no fault of theirs). At very short notice Helen and team got meals, drinks, coffees out for everyone, with a smile and great service. Meals were truly perfect and we found the prices very reasonable too. Stayed her on Saturday and they were very busy in the bar/restaurant with a wedding and birthday party but the restaurant was run so well, great service from their lovely staff who were running around so busy but so accommodating. My hat off to the chefs for getting the meals out so fast!! Just a couple of small negatives, no dustbin in the room or kitchen area to put rubbish/tea bags etc in and we were missing the shelf to put our towels on in the bathroom 😊

K. R.I'm not sure if covid has hurt this hotel or if we're a bit spoilt. Their was no security to enter through the main gate or the lift up to rooms, our room smelt musty and damp and wasn't clean (smears on window to bathroom, yellow grime in sink under the plug in bath). The toilet seat was loose. However, staff were lovely and the food was very good.

Not a stay... on hold to speak to someone - for more than 10 minutes on a Sunday when I hung up and called another property..

I can’t get through to give you this info directly and it probably wouldn’t get to those who can fix the problem if we did...
PS: I weakened and called back as I had a specific question regarding an advertised event and incorrect timing being shown (midday instead of dinner). I waited again for several minutes and eventually spoke to a lovely young Man who was clearly feeling the pressure but still took the time to be polite and courteous and dealt with my query very professionally...
This is not the first time that incorrect information has been listed for an event and in fact over Christmas, Christmas day options weren’t listed at all and we could never get through to anybody to ask the question otherwise we would love to have come to this venue for Christmas lunch. (We did find out but way too late to book).
So, between incorrect information and an inability to speak to somebody at the hotel, management has a bit of work to do... ?

L. S.The location was great for us and the room was spacious and comfortable. However we had a faulty leaking toilet. We advised the hotel of this yesterday morning and they called and told us it was fixed, however when we returned after a day out the toilet leaked noisily all night. We advised them this morning but didn’t receive much care or response. No ‘sorry’ for the inconvenience - we were just asked if we pressed the left side rather than the right side button, which we did. The toilet flushed once and ran all night which was annoying. Breakfast was nice and you just pay 20 a head extra. They only have instant coffee, but you could purchase coffee by a barista. Restaurant meal was lovely, however the ascot bar was closed.

S. K.Former name was Jnternational On Waters. Name’s changed but the place is still awesome place for brekkie. Excellent service. 20+ of us descended on it after paddling in from Bassendean. Some had full brekkie some just had coffee. My 2 scrambled eggs and sausage was just marvellous. Plenty of outdoor sitting area. Staff is the best !

Z. v. d. W.What a wonderful stay. We really enjoyed the room. We stayed in Room 1 (the penthouse).It was very clean, with an extremely comfortable bed and pillows. The breakfast was good with a variety of options of choose from. The only things that need some TLC is the paint on the walls and some bathroom fixtures were a little lose (it is really minor). Overall a great stay. The staff was welcoming and helpful.
C. C.Weather was very accommodating. Service was excellent. Looking at the water watching boats pass by was relaxing. While the food was tasty all four meals were warm only. For my meal more sauce to mix with the rice would have been better. Was still tasty and enjoyed.

D. B.The reception team are amazing, they are 5 stars. So on to it, very helpful, and extremely hands on. The restaurant is good, they have a basic menu, but it caters for bulk. And they do it efficiently, the wait staff are inexperienced but make up for being helpful. Meals are super cheap, the rooms are tidy and great for working on holiday. I founf the corner of the restaurant the best spot to get my work hours in. Housekeeping can improve, the place is starting to look dirty, its a shame that 1 area is letting the team down.

The location is easily accessed from Great Eastern Highway and has nice private views down the Swan river towards Perth.
The rooms where very clean,the best bed and pillows we have slept on in a hotel for a long time along with a very nice view from the room.
Movies on demand with special all day pay per view available.
Plenty of parking available for you vechiles.
We had excellent meals in the attached restaurant and bar and the customer service from the front desk to the staff in the restaurant / bar where exceptional.
Will return and recommend to anyone considering staying close to the city and a very quiet location to relax and unwind.
B. S.Beds are comfortable and is close proximity to the airport. The maintenance left me a little wanting however. The phone in the bathroom wasn't working with the handset being held on with electrical tape, windows facing out from our room still had some type of film on them that was peeling away. On a presentation front, the fountain in front of the foyer was also not working.In my opinion its the little things that let the International down. Aside from the maintenance issues the staff were friendly and check in and out was a breeze. Room service food quality was great, Thai Beef salad and beer battered chips were fantastic!
W. M.My stay at the International on the Water (from 26-31 December 2019) was an altogether lovely and enjoyable experience. The hotel is conveniently located, close to all amenities (and in close proximity to the airport, for international and domestic travellers), and has ample on-site parking. The ambience on entering the Foyer is one of luxury and spaciousness, the atmosphere in all public areas is lovely, and the Restaurant is spacious and comfortable, with beautiful river views - not to mention the outdoor deck when the weather is conducive to outdoor dining. My room was clean, comfortable and spacious, with a restful view of the river.
All staff, from the General Manager, John, through Admin, Reception, Catering and Restaurant staff, Maintenance and Ground Staff to Housekeeping, have been exceptionally Helpful, Friendly, Courteous, and 'professional' at all times, not to mention Patient with my many questions, and the arrangements I needed to make, in advance, to 'celebrate life' and to entertain approximately 60 guests here, at various times, during my 5-day stay. Customer Service was exceptional throughout the process, from the time of my initial telephone contact, during my entire stay, and until my check-out a little while ago. The exceptional Customer Service provided to ALL hotel guests, visitors and phone enquirers, and not just myself, did not go unnoticed during my many times in public areas during my stay here.
I have travelled the world extensively, often for many months at a time, over many decades, so do have a 'basis for comparison'. Perth, however, is my 'home', so this was a little 'mini stay-cation', which I and all my many guests enjoyed immensely and appreciated very much. Thank you VERY much to John, and the exceptional 'team' he leads, with his wonderful 'hands-on', friendly style of 'leadership and exceptional Customer Service by example'. A most enjoyable, comfortable, and joyful 'experience' overall. Thank you very much.

J. G.Came for lunch and found the service and setting to be great. The only real trouble was that even though I ordered my steak medium rare, it was tough. This was a surprise as it looked to be cooked exactly as I ordered it.
As a quirky side note, if you're there you have to check out the gold toilets!
M. J.A very modern looking hotel with really nice dining area and deck overlookign the river. The place is understaffed so the service is aweful, but I don't blame the staff on the floor, I blame management. We tried 2 visits for meals, which were very well priced and enjoyable. The toilets are a long way from the deck area and in run down condition. Consideing they are plastered with Gold, I would have thought they would keep them in pristine condition. (management again?)

There’s loads of free car parking which is good if your traveling by car.
Stayed in a Superior Room, very large and spacious has a mini fridge and it’s empty so you can easily fit all your goodies in there.
Bed is very comfortable,room clean and shower hot with good pressure.
Only negative is the shower did leak a lot of water looks like they’ve tried to repair a cracked tiles with silicone. Just a suggestion maybe just spend the money and fix it properly instead of just patching it.
C. S.Very nice place with lovely views. Had the Thai beef salad for lunch and wouldn't recommend it only had a few pieces of beef in it and was really small after being told from the waiter that it is a decent size meal. All meals were really small and found ourselves going somewhere else on way home for a little more to eat.
T. W.Over the top oppulance on the river . This place is slathered in marble and wouldn't look out of place in Italy . If your a local you really should check it out at least once . A huge outdoor balcony overlooks the river and poorly placed car park . The outdoor area on a nice day is very nice place to be . The last couple of times on a weekend I've been, there was inoffensive live accoustic music which created a nice atmosphere .
Very good value for money . Meals are simple and well presented but aren't awesome . But they are cheap and nice enough . My chicken parmy tasted microwaved with little love but the fresh chips were bang on . Beer selection is really old school with about 6 taps . They do have pirate life mid strength but the staff have to go for a walk to get it for you from some other area .
I have checked out the rooms and while very clean and new they are really uninspired .
P. S.Had a gig at the penthouse suite and it was amazing!! Done up so lovely, and most importantly was every single staff member was absolutely wonderful and looked after us well, was a pleasure to be part of the team that made this wedding awesome. I hope I can come back and sing there again! Views of river are fantastic.
Z. P.Have stayed here several times and always get astounded for the level of service and the quality of the rooms for the price. Big comfortable beds and quality decor to the bathrooms. The restaurant has a fantastic dinner menu and very good coffee and buffet breakfast. Good selection of rooms and some that overlook the Swan River. There are function and board rooms available to hire for any event. 5 STARS!
E.Lovely hotel near with a luxurious design, only down side was the pool was closed due to Covid-19 but no sign was on the fence or information given prior so we went for a swim and met some disappointment. Otherwise room service is lovely and we had a fantastic stay
D. M.The Swan at Ascot Resturant. 1 Epsom Ave Ascot. Great river views. Quick service. Food choice excellent - the roast vegetable soup was delicious accompaniment with Turkish bread oil & salt. Desert I would have next time is Iced Swiss Mocha Meringue.

Very lazy manager or just don't care about maintenance of areas. All garden are dead need a good drink. Lawn areas near restaurant and just over all old looking and no care in what place looks like.

Room is immaculate, very stylish with good taste, a real feel of luxury and the price is beyond amazing. Great pool overlooking the river, even better restaurant (the à la carte menu was in effect when I stayed, pork belly is mouth watering), check in was quick and efficient and free parking under cover, what more can you ask for....bar is good too. To sum up great value, clean and friendly.

The $10 breakfast buffets on Saturday/Sunday are wonderful. The spread is bacon, sausage, fried egg, scrambled egg, mushrooms, fried tomatoes, beans, hash browns and pancakes. There are also fruit and cereals and bread for toast. The trays are never empty for long and the staff are very on top of the cutlery and plates at tables - very friendly staff. The coffee is actually percolated and not instant which is a big plus too. The seating area is nice enough. Great value for money and excellent service all-round.
T. E.We went for the popular buffet only. Make sure you book first. They don't accept walk in. The best value Buffet by the river at Perth is without doubt. Nothing fancy but the view is good. I like the way they supply the water rather than soft drinks.

A. C.The location is close to water with good views from some rooms, polite front staff. The rooms have rather unique decor, although quite modern. For me, the stand out feature was the bed. King double and above average in the level of comfort. This is a good choice for those wanting to stay close to the airport at a very decent nightly rate.

We have been to international on the water on a few occasions now to their Riverdeck Restaurant and outside dining / drinking area. However we have never stayed at the hotel itself we have only eaten there on different occasions for breakfast, lunch, dinner. I like the highly recommend the River Deck restaurant for value-for-money. The meals not huge and not arranged all fancy but very substantial and very very reasonably priced. They offer an a la carte menu and also sometimes a buffet. The latest visit we a group of 5 of us and we dined inside the River Deck Restaurant and had a full buffet dinner or $20 per person. Drinks of course are extra, but for $20 for a buffet dinner is exceptional value. The setting is beautiful and very picturesque outside on the Deck where you have a lovely atmosphere on the Swan River You can sit inside or outside depending on your preference. The customer service however is not so good on a few on our visits including our latesr. Some of the staff are not very friendly at all and don't even acknowledge you and some are just quite rude. Some however are very good but most unfortunately are not very good with being hospitable even though they're working in the hospitality industry. The service can also sometimes be very slow and you can be waiting a while to be served if you are needing a drink or wanting the a la carte menu. However if you have the buffet you just pawy when you enter and help yourself.
I feel its a good place to go if you're wanting a decent meal at a very reasonable price.. Picturesque location right on the Swan River and so close to the airport and the City. You can pop in before or after a flight for a casual drink or meal.

G. W.We stayed three separate times on a recent trip back to WA in September. Generally very impressed with this hotel.The only real down side was the morning breakfast in the dining room ( preprepared hot food ) was VERY average, and there was a bit of noise from the band on a Saturday night! Fortunately we only got back to our room,after attending a wedding elsewhere, just as the music finished at midnight. Other than that the rooms were nice, beds comfortable and the price good value for money. Getting an upgraded room on our first night in town, after a long flight( and bus ride) from the Sunshine Coast, was very much appreciated too! And the staff were mostly very helpful. I also should mention the hotel is close to Perth airport, and their shuttle service was great!

Two things that are a negative. The noise that comes from the bar filters through to the front rooms. The drivers who drove us in the shuttle to and from the Airport couldn't be less helpful if they tried. They did not offer to lift bags into the van and have no idea about customer service!

They have an outdoor street food place on the balcony overlooking the river which looked quite good. Also had some easy listening live music playing which was enjoyable. I would recommend this place to anyone after a nice relaxing sunday lunch & drinks.
E. C.Went for Saturday lunch at opening time, so wasn't very busy. However, the service was no where to be seen.. staff didn't seem to know what was going on - or even what drinks they served at the bar? Food was left off our order & we were blamed for not ordering it in the first place? (We wrote out a list and handed it over to the attendant) Drinks ordered at the bar total was $19 - handed over a $50 note and was given $19 change? Some Staff were trying to be helpful but it just seemed like it was everyone's first day working there. The only saving grace is that the locale was lovely and it was a nice day to be sitting outside on the terrace overlooking the water, the a la carte menu was well priced and the food actually was delicious. Don't know if I would rush back... But I would give the buffet a try.. at least you serve yourself. :)

The tables are no longer set, its cafe style dining now ie help yourself to a tub with forks, knives and the cheapest and the thinnest of serviettes from a pull out box. Not what we expected
The entree of pork bits was very nice but the mains were soso and not really worth the price charged. The entree plate was not cleared away, mains just placed down and we paid $97.50 for the experience. One entree, two mains and no drinks!
It used to feel like you were dining out but no more, which is very sad.

Some of the dishes on the Smorgasbord are very good (Fried Chicken, Nachos, Butter Chicken) others can be a bit average (The Spaghetti was ok, same with the mousse) but overall for $20, very worth the price. Some of the food tastes the same as the buffet at Epicurean, but $50 less expensive.
C.Saturday night Asian buffet - $25 is not great value, dessert was only jellly (they had run out of mousse), not a huge amount of options for dinner either. Not even soft drinks were included. Great decor, lovely staff. 4/5

The lighted signage at the main entrance was for a pub and that made us missed the place twice when we arrived at night. The room was big but that’s about it. The furnishing was tacky - the tv emits annoying lights while playing. They could also work on their cleanliness as my partner found pubic hair on the bathroom floor.
J. A. Y.The hotel itself is in a stunning location by the river. And the decor is nice although not overly luxurious. They did seem to be understaffed and it was pretty quiet so a lot of the amenities you would expect from a good hotel are missing. (I.e. coffee and cakes in the lounge, drinks at the bar, a dinner/lunch buffet).
I'm guessing that if they get a lot of visitors (during the races for example), these would be made available.
The toilets appear luxurious at first, but upon close inspection, it appears some of the gold paint has faded and the dryer appears to be some ripoff brand.
All that said though, there is an air of old elegance and the proximity to the river makes it an excellent hangout in summer.

z. r.not a 4 star hotel at all. beds were large and comfy though. decor was a little over the top and 'blingy', god knows who thought highly reflective fake marble surfaces and lots of led lighting was a good idea. service was a bit poor in the restaurant, but this hotel was free due to my flight cancelled. i wouldnt choose to stay here. gym was poor and the pool water a bit dirty. overall , they could do a lot better.

The location is fabulous. Over looking the Swan it offers a walking trail to Garvey Park or along the river after meala. Easy access from Great E Hwy with ample free car parking space.
Internally it has been recently refurbished with all new fixtures and fittings. The atmosphere is calming and the staff here has always been friendly and helpful.

D. P.An unexpected delay whilst transiting thru Perth Airport had me booked into this hotel for 1 night. The hotel is located about 10 mins drive from Perth Airport (Terminal 4, Qantas Domestic). The hotel seemed to be in a very quiet residential location. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The allocated room was of a high standard and huge. The bathroom too was huge with floor to ceiling marble tiles. I would never have visited this hotel by choice but now I have done so, I will use it again.

J. C.After waiting for a decade for the Historical Belmont Hotel and then Ascot Inn to be reborn it has finally happened. It is certainly the "Jewel" of Belmont. No expense has been spared on Marble, soft furnishings etc. You've got to see the ladies and gents toilets! A lot of local Ascot Residents enjoyed an amazing evening. A couple of gatecrasher may have been there! No us of course!
We were treated to a free buffet.There were the inevitable 'teething problems' such as no nutcrackers for the crabs and a few empty buffet dishes not being replenished on time but aside from that it was amazing. I am not a desserts gal but the chocolate mouse was the BEST I have ever had when eating out. It was brilliant and I'd go again and pay for it. It is not a cheap night out but if you have overseas visitors or are wishing to go upmarket and impress family, friends and business assocates without having to drive in to the city, pay for parking etc this is the place to be.

T. M.For a travelled FIFO worker, the IOTW provides incredible value. (Though this review is of the accommodation. I cannot provide any comment about the restaurant - never dined there).
So, yeah... as a FIFO worker, I typically stay in Perth for an overnight stay, before boarding an early-morning flight heading either to work, or east back home. What I look for in Perth is a place that provides a decent nights sleep, that doesn't break the bank and is reasonably close to Perth's airport. I've stayed in different places all over Perth, searching for the Holy Grail and I reckon this is pretty close to it. Based on my experience... I'm willing to endorse every one of the positive reviews about the accommodation that are below this.
For the money (I typically pay around the low $200 mark) the IOTW surpassed EVERY other accommodator I tried in Perth, for this money. Having said that, I wouldn't be surprised to see prices starting to head a little north once word gets around about just how good the IOTW is... so I guess you should get in early. 'Beat the (sure to come) price rise!', or something like that.
Couple of points for the train-spotters out there: when I say the IOTW is close to Perth's airport, I mean Qantas' terminal (T3?). It costs me less than $15.00 to get there in a cab, but double that (plus some loose change) to get to T2. Still, that's way, way less than I was paying to taxi-it into Perth from whatever terminal, so you'll still win on that count.
