We got ourselves a seat outside, with a great breeze coming off South Terrace and settled in for lunch.
Both the burger and the steak sanga were excellent. And both nicely complemented with a glass of SSB.
D. B.Had Brunch there today it was very nice. Love you dinning room. Definitely will be going back. The big breakfast was yummy and the coffee was nice and hot just like I asked for. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

J. T.Lovely hotel with a great vibe. Always friendly, helpful staff. Being vegan,I googled the menu before we went and saw Cajun cauliflower steak with haloumi and rocket salad was on offer. Without haloumi that would be fine. However, I was very disappointed to find that it wasn't an actual cauliflower steak but florets of cauliflower which tasted streamed with the harissa spice.
The brussel sprouts which we have had many times and enjoyed were soft and soggy. A proper vegan option on the menu would be fabulous because the rest of the menu looked great.

Food was really delicious we shared the lamb.. congratulations to the chef, melted in your mouth. Veges were cooked perfectly, still a little crunchy just as we like them. Staff & service excellent. R.The pub has a nice feel and a good selection of drinks. However, the only vegan dish offered last night was cauliflower salad! Most pubs have moved on from offering only salads to vegans, so would be great if this place could chuck on some hot animal free food and be a little more progressive.

D. M.Local by name, local by nature. This grand old Lady of a pub has a very relaxed elegant feel about it. It harks back to a time gone by when the local pub was a communal epicenter. More than just a place for drinking and eating. It's retained its yesteryear ambience...by that I mean more than beautiful architecture and deco. The staff are suitably friendly and casual, the entertainment is diverse in a quirky Freo manner . Local beer and meal deals means you just have to give it a go.

T. U.We have been getting delicious & generous-sized takeaways from The Local during lockdown & then had my daughter’s birthday lunch there yesterday, dine in! Our first meal out for months due to COVID and what an exceptionally good lunch it was. Fabulous, friendly & attentive service with sensational meals. The jackfruit cheese cake + homemade ice cream was amazing. A wonderful dinner in a peaceful space. 5 star waiter too.

The staff were attentive and helpful, the drinks are reasonably priced considering everything, and the finger food is good (I wasn't a fan of the cold quiche though, I don't think anyone else was either). I like the function space, lots of wood and greenery.

G. H.We stayed at the hotel for a couple of nights and found it pretty average. The rooms are well done but smell very much of pub food. The check out process was quite strange as we had to wander through the empty pub in the morning trying to find someone. The WiFi also didn’t work so I’d probably stay somewhere different in Fremantle next time!

R. S.We stopped here Saturday night and hung out in the wine bar section for a friends farewell. The bar service was excellent, never waited very long for a drink. The lady on bar was so nice, explained to her that i was vegetarian and she took the time to go thru the menu with me and point out which menu items were vegetarian or have meat easily omitted. I appreciated this. I also appreciated that i was allowed to order a kids meal (even though i am an adult) because i only wanted something small/medium, not a large dish. Some places restrict this option if you arent a child. Use of paper straws was a nice touch for environmental efforts. Drinks seemed to be priced in line with or even slightly better than average for this area. Thank you, we will be back.

Food truck idea is great. But the kitchen/restaurant takes some beating.
S.Asked the waiter if there were any vegan options on the menu, to which he replied "I'm sorry there isn't we're looking to change the menu, but I'll go and ask the chef what we can do". The staff member came back with a number of items they could do, which were great. Excellent service, would recommend.

L. S.Good sized lunch that was enjoyable and cost effective in relation to my average budget. The Local is cool and modern, just a stone's throw away from the bustle of Fremantle's main centre gives it a distinct feel plus it has a variety of dining or bar areas to chill out in.

Nice renovations, good beer selection on tap with some little creatures and pirate life available.
Nice relaxed 30-50 yr old crowd in on the early Saturday arvo I was in attendance.
Short walk to one or two other venues too... a interesting hub developing in South Freo and this is part of it.
I didn't partake of the food but once I have I will amend review accordingly :-)
J. R.Had the local beef burger and a pint of local bitters . Hands down the best burger in Fremantle. The chips were awesome aswell. other half had the fettuccine , which was also great ! Both of our plates were cleared !

O. L.The Local Hotel is my local pub and their staff are really friendly and make you feel welcome. I've been to their Thursday quiz a few times now and it's one of the best trivia nights that I've been to.

A. S.Stopped for snacks and was pretty impressed by the size of the meals. The price for snack food is a bit high but the portion size pretty much makes up for it.
Had the chilli cheese and bacon fries, and the spicy fried chicken. Both I would recommend highly. Chicken fried spot on with some nice pickled onions on the side. Cheese fries were a huge portion for a snack size but definitely a great share plate and super tasty. Could have been more chilli, the name was a bit misleading but definitely tasty.
Price would be my only complaint but will be back to try their mains before making a final decision.

The room was fully equip with everything you need, coffee, TV, comfy chairs, Wi-Fi etc. It felt comfortable and cosy to be in. The shared bathroom was clean and the shared spaces were cool too.
The only problem was that it was a Friday night booking (I didn't do my research) and the noise from the music/DJ downstairs vibrates the room quite a bit. Lucky we were so tired that it didn't matter too much but I can imagine this would bother others.
But overall a fantastic stay, great location and I wish we could have stayed longer!
R. M.Went for dinner with a group of friends. I got the burnt butter cauliflower for a main and it was delicious! I am pregnant and was worried it wouldn't be enough food but it was a very generous portion, I couldn't even finish the last few bites.
The only slight negative was the brussel sprouts side order. A friend who goes there regularly ordered them for the table to share and said we were all in for a treat. When the brussel sprouts came out the bowl was only filled half way and they tasted very average. Besides that dish everything else was great!

I will be staying here again if I need to stay in Fremantle again. The walk into Fremantle wasn't too far and we realised a little too late that there are free cat buses that runs down the same street.

C. T.Used to be called the Seaview Hotel but has been re-branded- basically they ditched the TAB and pool tables and gave it a fresh coat of paint. Nothing good or bad about this place, it's a bog standard pub with bog standard food and drinks. The fresh paint has seems to working as this place is now drawing a crowd- unfortunately the layout hasn't changed. The main bar takes up a massive chunk of space and all the new punters make it feel stuffy and overcrowded.

S. S.Hired the Garage for our engagement party, it was such a fun and gorgeous venue. The private bar was perfect for the event, and it was so easy to organise and reschedule given ever changing restrictions.
Bar tab and canapes were a hit, the Mac and cheese balls were delicious!
Highly recommend for your next event without paying an arm and a leg for min spend.
