+ I'll also give credit to the staff to keep the common area clean and being strict on a few reasonable rules like no alcohol in the room, no smoking, no beer pong, tagging one's own food, cleaning dishes after using, etc. It's a big hostel so these rules make it less chaotic.
- I think the hostel is lacking common space. There is one kitchen, one small dinning room, one TV room. In the evening, the dinning room is always full with people eating and chatting loudly; the TV room is playing Netflix, dorm room is small and crowded; so there is no place where one can sit down read a book or just "chill". Not everyone wants to talk to someone all the time. So everyday I went to the supermarket nearby where there is a dinning area with free wifi, I actually feel a lot more comfortable there.
- The common toilet / shower rooms look really shabby. The toilet stalls are so small that it's almost acrobatic to close the door behind you. Also, the toilets are cleaned so hard that they have a sterile swimming pool smell.
J.Very central hostel with nice, even though a bit small bedrooms. Reception staff was friendly and general cleanliness was good. Big negatives were the extremely small kitchen and eating areas. Especially during breakfast, lunch and dinner you couldn't even walk in the kitchen and just about 20 seats for such a big hostel are way too few. Also it was a bit loud during the night because people were partying in the hallways.

S. Z.Decent location. Beds super comfy. Bathrooms seriously need an update. Staff are constantly cleaning it's only untidy or dirty because of the disrespect of some people staying there. Kitchen and bathrooms too small for amount of people staying. Good balance between social and quiet.
S. M.Ady’s Place was a very unique experience. My sister and I stayed there for two nights, we are both from Brisbane and came to Sydney for the first time.
Ady’s Place was super welcoming, we arrived couple hours before the actual check in time, yet the receptionist let us store our luggage’s in the storage room till we come back from the city, which infact wasn’t far at all, such a great location, when we came back later that night the receptionist told us that we got an update and we were getting a room just for us two, we were meant to stay in a room with 6 more ppl, we were super happy to have a private room with shower! Besides that the breakfast was outstanding, 3 types of bread, 3 types of milk, several different flavours of spreads and also WetBix and cereal. Super clean as well, common areas always being vacuuming, moped and the clean smell (bleach and disinfectant 😍) in every bit of the hostel, just perfect!
What a great way to start our little trip to Sydney 🤩
We’ll certainly come back and stay at Ady’s place again!!!

On the downside the common areas are very small, toilet and kitchen.
The hot showers doesn't work very well when everyone is coming back from work.

K.Stayed here for 3 nights while passing through Sydney after it was recommended by a friend. I’m so glad I did, great atmosphere, fresh new rooms, and great WiFi. The hostel is kept clean and the staff can’t do enough for you. The roof top bbq area is a bonus! Will be sure to stay again.

One Star is missing because there are just 2 showers per Gender on each floor and when you want to get ready you Need to wait a bit longer on somedays.

The wifi is very quick and breakfast was included. The staff is super friendly especially the managers and events are organised every day! I stayed for Australia Day and we went on a boat party. Can recommenced the hostel!
M. Y.Conflicted on this place. 4 stars for service and sleeping accommodations. Bathroom needs work, though. The bath has either a small curtain hanging by three hooks or a door before the bath with no curtain meaning water gets everywhere. Also, there is no heater or air conditioner, just a fan or an open window. Much better location than Potts point hostels for sure.

The location is good: close to the Citycenter and there is a supermarkt a few meters away.

They have 3 choices in the room list: female-dorm, mixed-dorm, dorm (not stated if its mixed or all female). For people who need "all female dorm" you have to stricly choose female-dorm because the 2nd and 3rd are actually mixed dorm

C.Great hostel for a visit in Australia's most famous city!
About 10-15min walk to city centre, 10-15min uber drive to Bondi Beach (around $10). Small rooms but every backpacker gets it's own locker which is perfect. You should really visit the gorgeous rooftop to chill out or drink a little

Es war sehr sauber, das Frühstück und die Küche waren total in Ordnung, die Dachterasse war ganz nett. Unser Zimmer hat jedoch wahnsinnig gestunken, der Geruch ging nicht raus.... es war insgesamt sehr laut und mit der Sauberkeit wurde es übertrieben... 24/7 hat man den Staubsauger gehört! Außerdem konnten wir die Fenster in unserem Zimmer nicht schließen, wodurch ständig irgendwelche Käfer hineinkamen.... Die Lage war aber ganz gut.
N. M.My first hostel ever. It is kept fairly clean as the staff constantly cleans it. In the kitchen, there are some people who are lazy about washing dishes, but the staff do their best by washing them morning, noon, and night. The hallways and rooms are vacuumed every day. Even if the toilet is clogged or dirty, it gets cleaned relatively quickly.
However, there were so many party people staying there that I couldn't sleep at all, and the sound of people mysteriously shouting ``Reception!'' and opening and closing doors violently echoed through the room, which was quite noisy and irritating. The people at the reception were generally kind and accommodating to any problems I had, which was nice. However, on the day of check-out, I was told that I would not get my deposit back unless I returned the key by an hour and a half after check-out time.I returned the key, but they didn't give me my deposit back.I had a bad aftertaste and didn't want to stay anymore. I thought not. The luggage room was quite small and the passengers were placed in a cluttered manner, so it was too difficult to store luggage.
Z. Y. M.There were a lot of people and the room was a bit crowded. The cleaning staff are diligent and the reception staff are polite.
Given the current situation and price, the frequency of disinfection is incredibly high. Fortunately, limited use of shared facilities is still allowed while they are working. It would be better if the kitchen is not locked in the early morning and people can cook midnight snacks. The kitchen, dining room, rooftop and TV room are all barely adequate.
If you want to make more friends, it's worth coming. There are many handsome men and women from all over the world, the atmosphere is lively and friendly, and there is no smell of drugs in or nearby. If you are a lone wolf or don’t want to be close to others to avoid the epidemic, you should look elsewhere. Among the many properties in the same group, there may be some suitable options.

The men's restroom is small and the door opens inward, so it's a bit difficult to exit. The shower only had lukewarm water. The kitchen is really impossible to cook at rush hour, but the atmosphere makes up for it. Would come again at any time.
J.Friendly staff and clean rooms. The staff knows several languages, some speak so-called German. Unfortunately, the kitchen is very small and the 3 toasters for breakfast sometimes led to a queue. Furthermore, there were a lot of Germans in the hostel (approx. 40%😅). There is something different in the program every day, such as BBQ in the evening or every Sunday free pancakes for breakfast.
J.The truth is that I really enjoyed Adys, a very centeico hostel with a good atmosphere, you have breakfast included, it is very clean and the common areas are always available to everyone and for everything, you also have Netflix! When you arrive tired of walking around the big city of Sydney, there is nothing better than watching an animal documentary while talking to people. If I could argue something with the host, it might be that they use too much space, my room was 6 (which I thank the host since they changed me to one with less people since I originally had to go to one of 10) the room was suitable for the host. Maximum, so much so that the suitcases are big because they don't fit and of course life is crowded, apart from that you have a bathroom but only a shower... to go to the bathroom you have to go to the common bathrooms, which is good for a Sunday morning or that call night of a Saturday night... well, they are not so-called very clean because people drink and well... apart from the shower room it is a little deteriorated, but I am not demanding either since the price is great ($21 /night), I stayed 3 nights and was generally very comfortable. 100% recommended if you are looking for something cheap and central.
V.Great service, clean rooms! It is cleaned every day. The guests are friendly and always in a party mood. But you can also spend quiet days here. Free breakfast nothing special but good. Can highly recommend it 😊
M. R.I only speak in Malaysian for the reference of Malaysians who want to go to Sydney, Australia. If you want to go to Ady's Place backpackers, you can choose a room for 6 people that has a shower in the room... quite simple and has many plugs to charge your phone in each bed you sit on, it feels like 3 or 4 plugs like that... ok That's right... the room is quite clean and there is a locker to store things, so just bring a padlock to lock it, we have that locker...
It's easy to find a place... it's not far from Hyde Park, you just have to walk a little through st mary cathedral, 3 traffic lights, if I'm not mistaken, turn left in 100 meters and you'll arrive or get off at king cross station.. . just his place is like a residential area...
