G. D.Spent a night in black gold executive suite. Even though the restaurant was closed due to public holidays, hotel staff was prompt in informing early on and suggesting excellent alternative option to dine near by. The motel is located in a calm and serene atmosphere in wallerawang which is about 50 km drive from Katoomba - the drive from Katoomba to Wallerawang is really a pleasure and is not to be missed. The suite was well maintained and the everything was in perfect order. Overall we had a great time at Black Gold and would highly recommend.

B. S.This is a wonderful motel for either work or leisure I use it for both. The Staff are friendly and very helpful, evening meals are great, breakfasts are fantastic. The ambiance of the whole motel is very special. The formal restaurant flows through to a warm and welcoming bar and lounge and further dining area. There is quite a selection of rooms, which are immaculate.

S. G.Lovely place to stay! Very spacious rooms with comfy beds. Great pressure in the shower. Hooks to hang coats would be good and a shelf in the shower to put your things. Also just discovered that a two year old can unlock the door and go outside. This is particularly worrisome at night time.

J. B.The big reason that this place doesn't get 5 stars is because of the wifi network. I could talk about how it averages only 1mbps download with a max of 3mbps if you're lucky, but the actual reason it is so terrible is that all the smart TVs in the place are all on the basic guest network where anyone can control them. It would only take one malevolent person to ruin it for everyone else. Imagine you're watching TV and someone staying in another room who you've never met decides to blast very loud music through your TV speakers. Or perhaps you're enjoying a meal in the restaurant with your family when someone decides it would be funny to replace the football game on the telly with something more adult-oriented. At one stage I even received a notification on my phone asking me if I'd like to control the TV in one of the motel rooms. It told me which room the TV was in, what they were watching and gave me the ability to change the volume, pause, stop the show entirely or change it to whatever I wanted.
What's worse is that when I brought this up with staff I was told that they were aware of it and they didn't seem to care that I could control all of their TVs with my smartphone. It wasn't through some techy hacker method either. My technologically challenged mother would be able to do it in under 60 seconds with apps that were already installed on her phone and that she uses regularly.
Now that that grievance is out of the way, let me tell you about everything else, which was very lovely.
We stayed in the Cluff deluxe villa and it was absolutely beautiful. The cleanest accommodation I have ever stayed in with one exception: I found an empty packet of Viagra in my room right next to the bed. You know these sorts of things happen, but you don't want to be reminded of them when you're staying there.
The main living space is luxuriously spacious and the provided couch and armchair is very comfy. The dining table is lovely too, but it does have some gouges out of the top and the chairs sound horrendous when you push them back to get up.
The upstairs is very cosy with comfy recliners on either side.
The shower is lovely and spacious with built-in shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel dispenser.
It was great to have a kitchenette to use and a full size fridge/freezer combo.
J. A.We've stayed her quite a few times. Always a friendly welcome, clean rooms, crisp sheets and fluffy towels. I like that the soaps, shampoo etc are all in dispensers to reduce wastage on bathroom supplies. Thanks for another great stay.

P. S. K.We recently stayed here. We stayed in their Villa Cluff. It was an amazing experience. They have electric bed warmers, so cozy. We have stayed in so many places but this was the first place to keep hair straightener in the room. I would recommend atleast one dinner at their resturant. Delicious food and cocktails!

Pleasant and helpful staff and a friendly manager. Restaurant is spacious and tables are not cramped together. Prices were reasonable for a good meal. Wouldn't hesitate to eat here again or stay in the accommodation.

We were greeted and looked after from check-in to check-out by Mikayla. Such wonderful hospitality, so professional and lovely to deal with. Would highly recommend and we'll definitely be back! M. N.We stayed in the gorgeous old school house for a weekend this June. The villa was beautiful with lovely decor and quality fittings. They have all the important stuff right; comfortable bed, excellent heating, warm showers and great service. All this in a beautiful space. The owners and staff were friendly and helpful. If you are staying make sure book into the restaurant for a hearty meal. Delicious.
L. M.We checked into the Motel for a girls weekend get together. From booking through to check out the service extended by staff is phenomenal. The room was clean and well stocked. Beautifully presented and great layout for 6 girls. We had dinner in restaurant which was a Christmas in July theme and we're not dissappointment by food or service. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting nearby.

B. L.A very cosy accomodation in Wallerawang. We stayed here this week 15-18th June and enjoyed our stay very much. The hosts Rob and Linda were very friendly and warm in their service. The food from the crib restaurant was amazing and we had several meals there. Definitely recommend this place.
V. F.My daughter and I spent a night at Black Gold Motel this weekend. I was totally impressed with how clean and well appointed the rooms were. My little girl was thrilled and described it as "our own cottage". It was comfortable and quiet, aside from two trains which passed in the time we spent there. The hosts were so friendly and welcoming. My daughter has special dietary requirements but the staff made sure she had a delicious dinner and breakfast the following morning. She even got a cuddle from the gorgeous little Lucy (4 months) which made her day! If you are after accommodation in a tranquil setting which is comfortable , clean and boasts amazing service, you won't be disappointed at Black Gold. S. C.The location was quiet and relaxing. We've stayed at hotels and motels all over Australia and some 5 stars hotels overseas. This is by far the cleanest and best maintained property we've ever stayed at. The only downside was that the restaurant was closed during the Easter weekend.

The service is fantastic, they have a great menu, and the people are so friendly. There is much to do and see in the area, I stay here for work and my family will be staying at the motel in March as part of a holiday which will include mountain biking, walking and sight seeing. Amazing.
