I was here with a friend on May 5, 2017 for 3 Nights, great hotel in the Centre of Sydney, we could walk to sightseeing like Opera House, Harbour Bridge, Sydney Tower :) perfect, I'll come back again.

Hotel lobby very presentable, foyer area has beautiful flooring with impeccable furnishings. Room was also very clean as was the new and refurbished bathroom. Bed soft and very comfortable. Hotel is situated close to public transport and made it easy for us to travel around Sydney with ease.

It was amazing value for money! All the workers were super friends and went above and beyond for you! I didn’t know my way around the city and they definitely helped. The location is perfect!

Loved the Castlereagh Boutique Hotel, it reminded us of a London hotel. The room was small but it was fine for 2 nights. The bathroom really needed a renovation but it was adequate. The staff are friendly and we are looking forward to the Dining Room re-opening again.

Stayed overnight following a show in their impressive function room and really enjoyed the whole experience! Great staff & service and the location of the property is amazing. Recommend seeing this heritage 1920's landmark property.

Reasonable value, Dreadful toilet paper, 1 ply = smelly fingers. Small room but adequate. Limited dining facilities. No decent coffee. Fantastic Location

An excellent hotel. Beautiful decor and friendly staff. Clean foyer and spotless interiors. Steeped in history and wonderful location.
A.
Helpful staff, beautiful elegant dining room. The Birthday Luncheon for about 80 people was most enjoyable. Thellie' birthday cake was spectacular! As we were the cupcakes with Thellie's face of them.

The courtesy and friendliness of every staff member make you feel very important. The interior décor is old worldly in style but certainly not old. Everything about this hotel comfortable an has the atmosphere of being back in time. …

Book your stay in the Queen Studio Luxe - it is a beautifully modern room that ticks all the boxes. Absolutely loved the decor, set-up and cozy feel. It is in a great location, so close to public transport, shops and restaurants.

Excellent service and big roomy rooms. Appreciate the beautiful interiors.
A.
We enjoyed our night in this clean, comfortable, well-located hotel. The room we stayed in was renovated and good value, having all we needed for a short stay, including a comfortable bed. The position of the only sink in the middle of the main room is not ideal but the renovation has been done to make best use of available space.
A.
Excellent staff and location. Rustic charm. Really enjoyed our stay
A.

Lovely hotel in the middle of the city. I had an amazing time. The room was super comfortable, the bed was amazingly soft and the room was very well clean. So happy that the city noise didn't disturb my sleep at all!!

Convenient location. Older hotel but clean & comfortable
A.
I have stayed there on and off for years It is a little gem right in the heart of Sydney.
A.
Close to public transport, shops and convenient stop in the city. Currently next door to a construction site, so a little noisy. If you don't mind an older style hotel, it is clean and has all the amenities.
A.

Great location, very central to shopping and dining plus a number of attractions. It doesn't offer all the bells and whistles of the big chain hotels but it has a quiet charm and we enjoyed our stay.

Really nice hotel. Great food and friendly staff.
The only thing I didn't like was the room was filled by the bed. You get from one side to the other you had to walk through the toilet and shower. Moe storage for clothes would also be nice. Very small things and down to my own personal preferences... The room itself was really nice.
I'd definitely stay here again.

I enjoyed my stay here. I had a queen bed room, but there was randomly another single bed in my room as well. The hotel decor may be a but 'outdated' but the size of the rooms is pretty spacious and pretty good value for Sydney. The location is also great, being very close to the train station that takes you directly to the airport. Unfortunately, the underground rail station works next door meant that you could hear a constant humming noise of machinery in my room.
A.
Great clean rooms and exactly what we needed, breakfast was beautiful and every staff member was always willing to help. The history of the hotel and building is displayed all throughout the building. Would definately stay here again and …
A.
Have always been satisfied staying here. Tha last experience was a cause for concern.
A.
A charming hotel in the heart of the city. It had everything necessary for a pleasant stay, including some history. Not a hustle and bustle place, something more substantial than that. It suited me.

The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, the shower was hot, the location was ideal for work. But the room was small, the lift was slow and there was a popular (read noisy) bar next door. It worked well for my trip and I looked forward to the shortbread each day.
A.
Very comfortable rooms in a great heritage building. A handy location close into town and train stations. The general condition was excellent and very clean and tidy. The rooms are not huge but while compact, they are certainly not cramped. Well furnished and appointed. Friendly and helpful staff; overall good value.
A.

I was pleased to stay here several nights while in Sydney for a conference. I love historic places like this one as you can really sense the history of the place in everything. The staff and manager were friendly and accommodating. The bed was comfortable and I slept well. The food at breakfast was lovely and reasonably priced for staying in the heart of Sydney on a budget. There is a bar open in the evening, and two restaurants.

The building is beautiful, and the lobby is very picturesque. Now, once you get in your room, you'll realise the fanciness and glamour of the hotel don't get inside the rooms. These are just regular spaces to nap, and even my bathroom door was just a big rectangle hanging from a rail that "covered" the hole where the door should be, leaving a space between it and the wall. It's hard to depict, perhaps go check yourself! The hotel overall wasn't bad at all.
A.

Short: Excellent location, acceptable rooms, first staff impression was a negative.
Long:
The hotel has an old world charm about it, and has done well to keep that feeling preserved. It does come with a downside - rooms appear dated, and bathrooms are tiny (I bumped my head on several occasions entering the low bathroom door); however, having said that, all the necessities are available, rooms are clean and neat. The planned refurb is exactly what the hotel needs.
The price was a bit steep, I guess it can be attributed to the location more so than the amenities and luxuries.
The day of arrival (also first day in Australia) I was greeted by a rather unfriendly receptionist - not a single smile even after I greeted in a friendly manner. She couldn't understand English all too well, didn't explain why she needed to hold my credit card details nor mentioned to me any of the available eating halls in the hotel. I stayed a week, and the staff for the remainder was quite pleasant though. First impressions count however and it did leave a bad taste - would have probably added an extra start to the rating had it not been for this.
A.
Loved the Hotel will stay again perfect for visiting Sydney
