I love it here, the whole vibe is just perfect! I am in and out of Sydney a lot and this always is and always will be my base. It has rooms of all different prices to suit your needs and the roof top is the best for drinks in the evening. Recently there have been a lot of positive changes and I am finally getting round to putting a review up because they deserve the recognition!! Love you MMB, I’ll be back soon ❤️

Great hostel, lots of long-term people and easy to make new friends. It is clean and tidy. The people who work behind the reception are lovely and very friendly, and Laura was great and helped me a lot! I would definitely recommend this hostel if you are staying in Sydney :)

Pretty decent hostel! Stayed for only one night and wasn't sure when I approached the building but pretty clean over all. The staff is friendly and gives you the rules and shows you to your room when you first arrive which is nice. Also free breakfast 5 minute walk from Hostel was really good. My only complaint is one bathroom per floor and could use a bit more cleaning but awesome rooftop makes up for it. I would stay here again!

I’ve booked female only room, which had a surcharge on it, but to my biggest surprise there was no separate bathroom nor toilet that would’ve been female only, so it seemed a bit pointless... as we’ve met some other people there, they’ve actually showed us the difference between the mixed dorm rooms and the female only, which is quite significant in terms of the space you have. Ours was quite spacious whereas the others look more like prison. And one very important thing I need to mention, there is NO AIRCON. We stayed there in January when it was 40 Celsius degrees outside, boiling hot, and it was really uncomfortable to be in the room, even though we only stayed there pretty much for sleep only, at night it was still very warm and hard to sleep in. The bathroom’s cleanliness was alright, same goes for the toilet. They clean the rooms weekly. Breakfast was included in the room’s price, but it was a bit of surprise that it was in a separate place, a couple minutes walk down the road. It was actually quite pleasant to walk there every morning before the crowd would have its peak. The staff is incredibly helpful, friendly and kind and really try to create a welcoming atmosphere by organising community programmes, such as barbecues.

Loved my stay here - such a great location, amazing breakfast and an incredible rooftop! The whole hostel is really clean and it's a great place to meet new people. The staff are fantastic, especially the lady on reception, I think her name was Charlotte.

It's an okay hostel but there are better options in Sydney. It's a 5 minute walk from the Kings Cross station but it's not quite centrally located. The kitchen is small and gets crowded easily when people are cooking. One big downside is that breakfast is not in the hostel, but actually a five minute walk away at Happy Travels, a travel agency. Be aware that when you're in there they'll try to get you to sign up for tours through them. Overall, an adequate place to stay but nothing more.

Such a lovely hostel with great people and staff. Reception very helpful on arrival, giving directions to the best spots in Sydney! Rooms were fresh and bright with good lockers and comfy beds! 100% will go back when I return to Australia.

Stayed here back in August. Definitely a very fun atmosphere with clean bathrooms and dorms. Some dorms even have patios, as ours has two. My friend and I were able to bunk together once asking to switch our reservation with the help of staff. The beds and linens were comfortable and the lockers in the room were large. This was my favorite place we stayed in Kings Cross but we did venture to new hostels as there were too many long term stays to make friends. That's unfortunately why I can not rate this a full five because aside from two people in our dorm we were ignored by all others. We even made efforts to talk to groups and it was unfortunate that they were all too close to let in outsiders. Free breakfast down the street saved the day!

Absolutely loved staying at this hostel, really well located 5 minute walk to the train station and Coles supermarket as well as bars and restaurants. The staff are so friendly, especially Missy at reception who was very informative of things to do in Sydney during my stay. The place really clean and has a cool rooftop area with loads of seats and a bbq area.

As always, my stay at KXB was a blast! All staff are friendly, especially LAURA, she's like a sister! Super helpfull and smiling :) The hostel is super well organised, clean and bunch of facilities are included! I really recommend you to stay there as the strain station is couple of minutes away, as well as the supermarket, and the gym too! Can't wait to be back! Thx so much again to all the staff! xoxo

Had a great time here. Good location and very social. The big rooftop is the perfect place for predrinks and to meet new people. Big plus is the free breakfast (probably the best I had in a hostel so far).

We had high expectations for this hostel however it's let itself down. The WiFi was down for the duration of our stay which made it difficult to plan our time there. There is not enough toilets and showers for the hostel and the kitchen is minute - we ended up cooking very late. It's a shame that the hostel gets closed down early - the rooftop is closed at 10. Food cannot be kept in rooms but they close the kitchen so you can't access your food. Overall it's just too small for the amount of people staying. Most of the staff were good, it's just a shame as it has potential

Kings Cross Backpackers is one of the best places I’ve stayed. It’s such a clean hostel with such an inviting atmosphere. The staff are brilliant and so helpful and friendly. There’s a daily update of all the events you would want to know about going on in Sydney and also they organise their own events. I would highly recommend staying here! Staying here has made my trip to Sydney!

Nice location, friendly staff and good systems in place for things to work smoothly. The shower facilities really need some maintenance though. For the cost there is no reason to have such funky showers. My shared room was clean and the beds were comfortable.

Great hostel in a perfect location with easy access the CBD and Bondi - the train station is a 4 minute walk. Rushcutters Bay Park is 5 minutes walking and the lovely Redleaf Beach 20 minutes. The area is very nice with lots of recent renovations, not at all the dingy image some might associate with Kings Cross! Staff are friendly, rooms clean and there’s always someone cleaning the common areas. The rooftop is the perfect place to chill on a hot summer’s day, especially when the free weekly BBQ is on.

Amazing place to be at. 5 minutes walk from kings cross stn. Great set of people I encountered. A true backpacking culture. A well maintained place. A great set of helping hand offered by staff. The only thing is that you'll have to walk 10-15mins to reach the place where complimentary breakfast is served, which's a place called Mad monkey, which is a common place of many hostels' inhabitants to come and get food. Rest, you can cover almost all places from this hostel, as Sydney has a good train connectivity. Don't forget to get your Opel card to enjoy the city :) Happy traveling guys!

I originally booked a 6 bed room, but management upgraded me for free to a 4 bed room due to my extended booking. My roomates were very respectful, nice to socialize with, and i had a great time with the mad monkey events they held. Who else can offer drinks (happy hour) and a pizza buffet for under $15?

Probably the cleanest hostel I have stayed at so far. The bathrooms are new with great showers and the breakfast is amazing. Room prices seem a bit random though.

Kings Cross Backpackers was an ideal place to stay during my East Coast travels. It has reliable and fast Wifi, free breakfast, very clean rooms and the staff were extremely helpful and approachable. It's surrounded by awesome bars and restaurants and is walking distance to Oxford Street and the City. There is also a train station around the corner, which makes exploring very easy. I think my highlight was the giant jenga on the rooftop! Amazing! I highly recommend this hostel!

when I joined Kings cross back packers for the first 2/3 weeks was amazing due to the staff being so welcoming, Cas, Morgan, Morgan and Bass however when Cas went home the New manager who runs a few hostels started being ridiculous and said she’s not bothered about the environment of ththe hostel... At KXB there is a loft property box for clothes etc that everyone has missed placed as well as the fridge that was for all food thats not labled. When the new manager joined she kept chucking peoples things away alternatly to uses the fridge/box, it seemed as the all the best parts of this hostel had been removed because of one person. would have recommended 10* out of 10* a week ago however now I wouldn’t recommend to anyone. (Translated) For a hostel it is clean. Atmosphere is good. Big plus is that you can work out for free in the nearby fitness center. Breakfast is nice but the setting not ideal; with plastic sign on your lap or standing because there is no space. A large fan hangs above my bed and if I don't bend enough when climbing into bed, that thing is hard against my head, really stupidly hung !!! (Original) Voor een hostel is het schoon. Sfeer is goed. Groot pluspunt is dat je gratis mag fitnessen in nabij gelegen fitnesscentrum. Ontbijt is lekker maar de setting niet ideaal; met plastic bordje op schoot of staand omdat er geen plek is. Boven mijn bed hangt een grote ventilator en als ik niet genoeg buk bij het in bed klimmen kont dat ding keihard tegen mijn hoofd, echt stom opgehangen!!!

However, the kitchen is a bit cramped and it gets quite hot / stuffy when there are several people there.
