H. P.This is a great place to stay. The grounds are beautiful and it is in a natural setting. The facilities are really good and the kitchen has everything you could want. They have lots of options, from camping, dorms and self contained cabins. The owners are also really friendly.

Excellent facilities, tranquil bush setting with huge beautifully maintained grass paddock for camping or well equipped timber cabins and kitchen lounge area, I have stayed here many times and would most definitely recommend, the hosts are really friendly and go out of their way to help with any of your needs, excellent location only few minutes walk to one mile beach.
M.Loved this place. We stayed here for 2 nights, wished we stayed for another 3. It's a real retreat. The place is clean and facilities care great. The only setback are the possums who can go a bit crazy.. that's nature for you I guess. The beach is just 10mins walk too.
M.Beautiful campsite running by lovely people, clean communal kitchen, spacious, green campground area with camping facilities for fair price! you’ll definitely see kangaroos feeding on the grass at dusk or in the morning, plus kookaburra & Australian Magpie. I’ve already camped there 2 times and will come back there again, highly recommendable.
P. A.Great place for it's value - fixed price too even when it was the weekend. About 4-5 minute walk to One Mile beach. So many things I loved about this place, great design, you felt more in the natural environment, the large communal share kitchen/lounge space, facilities were kept clean, Thursday evening reptile talks, and the space is shared with other native animals. I went solo camping, but spent the evenings meeting other people in the shared common space which was nice. They also provide free bikes to ride up to the local shops at Anna Bay. The owners were really sweet, easy going and responsive. If I'm ever passing the area again, I would definitely stop by here.
C. A.We stayed here a couple of nights and they put on a reptile encounter show thing which was really cool, we got to hold some incredible critters and the staff were just so lovely and friendly. We also got to go sandboarding at the local area which was epic and we had a great pizza night here where we all just chilled and drank a few beers and ate pizza. This is a fantastic place in the more natural areas. I highly recommend staying here. When I find my pictures I will add them. Great place.

K. P.Located just a mile from One Mile Beach is this perfect place for backpackers to stay. Its located right within forest having wood cabins to stay which gives a perfect destination to relax. They have a common area with kitchen where you can cook with all vessels available to use. They have couple of barbeques too which can be lit up to enjoy some grilled meats. Common washrooms n showers are very clean and well maintained. They also have open ground area where you can camp n enjoy. There is no staff as such but the owners are really sweet and helpful people who will make you feel comfortable. Ask them any questions, they are glad to answer u. I would recommend visitors who want to explore out wt friends and have a good time.

Great facilities like showers and bathrooms, and a fully equipped kitchen, we were able to make breakfast for 16 people outside on the bbq provided. We pitched our own tents, but there was also private cabins, and hostel style dorms. Very friendly place
a. v.A great place to chill , allows kids to enjoy nature (they didn't ask for ipads) close to the beach and love the cabins .. we have been here a number of times and each time enjoy it even more .. Mitchell and Mick are great hosts.. looking fwd to coming back soon.
M. O.Absolutely loved staying at Maleluca backpackers! The owners and staff are super friendly and full of advice of great activities to do around. The cabins were clean and had all the things needed for light travellers. Most of all they have the most adorable pet kangaroo! Highly recommend this place!

s. y. s.It is secluded place with lots of animal around. The workmanship of the building is very unique and the compound is big for camping. All facility are there for you to used include kitchen, hot bath and a nice common living room. It is 10 minutes from one mile beach and Anna bay it's only couple minutes away.overall a great place for overnight camping.
S. A.Melaleuca is much more than a backpackers! It's a nature retreat for Australian wildlife and a casual resort for the traveller. The owners are almost as beautifully natured as the nature it holds on its grounds. They haven't built this business for profit, they built it for their love of flora and fauna.
I'd go as far as to say that I've never felt more comfortable in any other 'backpackers' in the country.
Facilities are new and spotlessly clean. Face to face with kangaroos, native birds and even the odd koala. They rescue local injured wildlife so if you want the 'Australian Experience' then it would be foolish to look elsewhere. Seriously! A++

S. L.Beautiful place to stay! Massive garden space plenty of room for activities. Really friendly helpful owners who have lots of animals including a pet kangaroo called josie. Lots of types of accomodation avaliable, stay in your camper, their tent or yours or in the lovely cabins. Beach is really close with good surf.

A. C.Had an amazing time. It's a bit rough around the edges, but that's part of the charm. We were camping, it was great that we felt like we were camping in the middle of nowhere, but had facilities right there. Surrounding area and beaches great too.

J.(Translated) For a backpacker sure a great place to stay. We paid $ 120 per night with a camper "unpowered", which is just way too much. The toilets are ok, Wifi almost does not exist. The operators put a lot of emphasis on nature.

There are several fast food places nearby, staff offer places where you can exchange currency and buy products (a 10-minute walk is a small market and a large store). Great view from the city window.
