A. B.The staff were amazing here. Everyone we met was so helpful and lovely. The room was clean and well kept. The only downfall was there wasn’t many channels on the the tv and no movie channel. The pool was also unavailable but we will definitely be coming back.
R. H.Rooms are decent and the breakfast offered is worth paying for. The barista was the gem of my whole trip. Made my drinks perfectly in the morning and when I had to check out and leave in a hurry and said I'd cancel my order, they made it fast and put it in a travel cup for me.
R. S.Stayed for many weeks with my family here. Definitely it was a super experience. We loved every morning the machine available during the bf to make our own natural juice (apples, carrots, celery, watermelon, orange).
The chefs is super nice and friendly. He game some advice to places to explore.
The cleaning service is done everyday. It was waaaay better than Holiday Inn.
The stuff is super nice, willing to help, friendly.
My kids used to borrow books every night to read from their children area. I never have seen a hotel with this kind of area (very helpful) but we enjoyed watching the movies that are playing continuously during the day.
Location is very convenient. Close to many restaurants and transportation.
Well, I just can say that it was worthy the money to have this long stay while we settle down in this new country.

The front desk checked me in so well and welcomed me so nicely, I was so grateful to be given such a lovely room near the top (thank you so much!!), when I accidently locked my room Maxwell from Front Office as well as Dennis had been so lovely and helped me! Dennis even remembered my voice when I called Front Office on my 2nd day to ask for housekeeping! Thanks Dennis!! :)
Thank you to housekeeping for tidying my room while I was out! And Jess from the Bar/ In Room Dining was so lovely & sweet and helped me pick out a wine that matched my cheese platter and ordered it for me and brought it right to my room! Thank you Jess!! The wine was lovely and the cheese platter tasted so good!! Check out was so quick and easy and once again staff was so lovely as well!
It was a great location so near to shops and nice dining options so it was quick to walk out to get a bite to eat or go shopping so it was so convenient when I wanted to go shopping!

S.Staff was friendly upon check in room cleanness 8 out of 10..... by my standards i wouldn't apooint this a 4.5 a lower tier score high 3s... this the hallways give me a hospital vibe.... room are clean standard. But not my favourite hotel if you are chasing affluence accommodation.. If shower knob is not turned of correctly there is a loud noise from the pipe which maybe needs to be addressed
K. U.I recently stayed at Novotel Sydney Central, including a period in self isolation and the entire team there are just amazing. They couldn't have been more helpful and accommodating! I'll definitely be staying there again in the future and can highly recommend them.
L. B.Mixed experience for me... First time visitor.
Reception area was chaotic when checking in. No Accor ALL Priority desk on offer so waited quite a while to be served.
Staff seemed unsure and while trying their best to help, knowledge seemed lacking. (I asked if breakfast was included here as a Platinum member and it took three different staff members to find out the answer, which was yes).
Room was ok, a little tired, but at least it was very clean. Club Sandwich from room service was very good. Bed was quite hard, but that's a personal taste. Nice cheese plate and wine for being Platinum. Appreciated.
Came back late night and key didn't work. Took two trips down to reception and then a staff member coming up, then down, then back up again to get me into my room. Finally got in about 15 minutes after the first attempt.
Breakfast buffet was ok and replenished often. However, they seemed short staffed (probably due to the pandemic and lack of available staff) and tables too a long time to be cleaned. We ordered our coffees when we sat down but they hadn't turned up by the time we finished our breakfast.
Lifts very slow and clunky. Location is handy for George St and Haymarket. Parking next door at Wilson is $20 which is validated by reception.
So, we found it ok, but nothing outstanding.
T. L.Staff were kind & one of the oldish and neat accommodations! Kitchenettes were all prepared & clean. A porter with a fashionable suit-Mart helped me to take couple photos which was very genuine helpful. Room was cosy and comfortable. My partner said that a bathroom was small & the water didnt feel that fresh/ clean but okay for quick bath. To sum up, my quarantine moment was amazing which located in 18floor so that it has a view & nice atmosphere. I rated 5 stars for people who served us there, 4.5 stars for a room. I think that’s fair enough, but I would love to stay longer if i have longer holiday. Thank you

Today is my birthday, and I am quarantining alone so it was pretty boring birthday until I received this amazing sweet treat from the hotel staff with a birthday card and balloons. Huge shoutout to Mart and also entire staff of Novotel for making me feel special on my birthday! Thank you so much guys!!
On top of this, I would like to thank the entire kitchen staff for serving me with variety of delicious vegetarian meals everyday.

I. K.I stayed at Novotel,Central for 2 weeks Quarantine & have a pleasant stayed at this hotel. I pleased with cleaned room, good food and fast room service & kitchen. Friendly hotel staffs & very supportive. Excellent hospitality for everyone, especially Mart & Maxim.
But I have some discomfort about hotel wifi, which is often lacked(slow), and better for food to be put on the chair infront door. Also, early delivery time for breakfast & lunch. Overall, Novotel Central is a good place to stay with friendly & supportive staffs.

L. P.Stayed at Novotel Sydney Central for two weeks for the Quarantine and everything was a breeze. Experienced a bit of incident but Novotel proposed a solution-thoughtful-oriented outcome. Shout out to all the front-desk, house-keeping, and kitchen team, you are an absolute gem. I definitely would like to particularly acknowledged Maxim, Mart, and Frances R for the level of hospitality they presented during my time there. Exemplar. I was experiencing my first time in Quarantine at the Novotel Hotel in Sydney Australia. I arrived & started to receive my fabulous food on a very “german punctuality”. Also, I appreciated enormously & I just can thank the staff especially during my departure (check out). I called receptionist twice, (and If I am not wrong) Mr. Lawrencio & Mart for the effort to carry my messy luggages of making my nostalgia as beautiful as possible (despite of the circumstances). Thank you very much. The room was very dope comfortable especially the mattress was amazingly comfy. God bless you, Novotel Staff !! :)
T. L.Checked in here to wait out the Sydney at the 18th August '21 COVID-19 Lockdown. Despite restrictions preventing them providing cleaning etc service the staff were being really helpful, I adore their highest CUSTOMER SERVICE STANDARD from Mr. MART & MAXIM were politely helpful during pre and checked out, flexible and understanding of our situation. Great room also. On the list to come back to.

I just wanna say thank you for your hospitality during my 14 stays. I had such a lovely time & the food was yummy & the service? Impeccable (FYI, your cute staff “Mart” is very out of the box, motivated & chatty with his heart ❤️too).
In summary, a beautiful, quiet and small hotel, good food, & incredible service. I'm looking forward to making another booking here.

M. O.Currently doing quarantine here. Staff are really helpful. Nurses are great. Food is nice (vegetarian diet option). Staff are flexible if you need anything delivered. Rooms are cosy enough. Huge towels and great water pressure. Comfy beds. WIFI is sufficient.
J.I’m staying at Novotel Sydney Central as part of quarantine to enter Australia. I’m on day two. I want to give a shout out to the kitchen staff for the meals. Delicious, varied meals with lots of vegetables and protein in every meal. Even a little sweet treat with each meal. Well presented in takeaway boxes. As a former hospitality worker, I can appreciate the care that has gone into planning nutritious meals that tolerate the takeaway nature of the delivery system. Thank you.

E. c. s.My quarantine here has been great because the receptionist Maxime ( my spelling of his name might be wrong) has been very kind very understanding and very helpful when I have been panicking about my next trip to Perth and all other matters . It’s great to have someone helping you when you have anxiety and everything during this crisis . Having said that, everyone else here has been great too .
T.Absolutely love staying at Novotel sydney central the staff are amazing; rooms immaculate and the stay is always cosy! The pool is beautiful with a little spa. All you can eat breakfast is our absolute favourite & the cookies on arrival 5/5

As a very frequent traveller ; member of Marriott Bonvoy Elite Platinum , IHG Gold , Hilton Silver here are some Feedback to improve your hotel
1. Invest on lights , your rooms are dark ! Fore your designer and get someone who understands customer needs ! Why would you not put proper lighting in your rooms ?
2. Art ! zero art 🖼 in the rooms even cheap photos ! Your walls are empty
3. Design , plain rooms for the cost of 4-5 star … way away from modern look
I am not here based on my choice , part of quarantine! Years ago , I had similar opinion about Accor group hotels and I stoped staying there ! As you can see my status I am staying in other hotels and the difference is clear like back and white

b. w.From the moment we checked in it was outstanding. Friendly staff who engaged without kids and made them feel welcome. Room was spotlessly clean and nicely decorated. Also very roomy and comfortable. The gym was tucked away but had plenty of equipment, pool is great.
Breakfast was fresh and plenty of variety on offer.
It was a nice surprise to get overnight parking for $20.
Checkout was the quick and simple.
We will definitely be back.
M. P.Stayed a weekend away during covid period. All staff were extremely accommodating and helpful during this quiet time for them. Very friendly towards our children and gifted them their own activity pack and teddy. Every time we entered the lobby after outings they were very warm and welcoming. Room was nice and clean no complaints.

J. F.This hotel was quite nice and the rooms are good and roomy. The facilities provided include a pool and spa, a gym, a restaurant and a small kid zone. The pool is not very deep but is at a very nice temperature around 35c. The spa is a bit warmer than the pool and has the blasters which are pretty strong! The Gym is alright, you have treadmills, weights and some other equipment. The restaurant there is not the best, and I wouldn't recommend it. The service was good but the food didn't do it for me. The buffet breakfast wasn't too good either. Apart from the food I had a great experience. I would definitely consider going back!
T. M.Stayed here for my hotel quarantine - 14 days / 336 hours / 20,160 minutes in room 1202. Comfortable beds, decent TV (with HDMI connectivity - BYO cord), good shower, cold air-conditioning. As you can imagine I became pretty familiar with every centimetre of the room, and it was fine. Only criticism was that the fridge didn't really cool things well, and the bathtub was shallow.
Staff were lovely to deal with - I had a couple of issues through the stay and Phil (I think) was really helpful. Coffee's made on site good - hot tip guys - if you used MilkLab almond milk it would make the world of difference).
But it was being run by the police, not the hotel, so with that in mind it was fine.
M. B.Edit: I have added an extra star to my original review as the hotel management appreciated the issues raised and took some steps to resolve.
I didn't get the chance to stay here after my booking was cancelled by the hotel.
Whilst happy to take my booking (as an Accor gold member), I was notified that my booking was cancelled because the hotel is being used for quarantine purposes. This is not a new development, and as other reviews have mentioned this has been used in the capacity for a long period of time. They still took my booking.
Hint to the hotel management, especially when dealing with supposedly "preferred" customers. If you are going to inconvenience people with planned accommodation, especially in a time when loyalty is critical then you should offer alternatives. The pandemic will eventually be over and your customers will want to keep travelling.
"We are sorry for the inconvenience, as part of a large chain we can provide you with alternative accomodation at one of our sister hotels" would be a good way to handle an occurrence like this, sadly this didn't cross their minds.
Novotel is off my list for the foreseeable future.
S. S.Excellent service and location. Staff at breakfast went out of their way to accommodate our group of 12, all vegetarian. They prepared an extra vego hot dish for us without us asking, each day! . Now that is true hospitality. Front desk and concierge staff also super helpful and friendly. Would stay again in a heartbeat. Highly recommend. Excellent location too as you can walk everywhere.
T. M.This hotel was more a 3 star. The staff were really nice and catering and the presentation was good. My only nightmare was the carpet. It smelled like urine so I asked them to change my room and they did it - no questions asked, which I was very pleased with but the room they moved me to smelled a bit damp- but not so much urine-y. I just wish for their sake they rip out all the carpet and replace it- like really really overdue for a replacement. The breakfast was yum, generous, fast service, "yes maam - three bags full ma'am" so I was pleased about that.

We were offered water & some cookies/apples & Francis was given some baby toy during our check in, I mean Sofitel doesn’t even do that!
Got the cot organised from them as a complementary so it’s so convenient for us, Francis even got to take home the soft llama doll that was sitting in the cot; now it’s sitting in his own cot.
Room is descent size for us, facilities are more than enough.
Overall we really enjoyed our stay, bed is comfortable so we will definitely come back!

H. A.Modern bright hotel rooms. So family friendly, they greeted the kids with an activity bag and soft toy. A lovely pool with noodles supplied. The lovely staff (Nicolette in particular) provided us with complimentary drinks vouchers for the bar and upgraded our room. Located short walk to restaurants and Activites at Darling Quarter and China Town.
R. C.A very comfortable stay. We were satisfied with the cleanliness of all facilities. The room didn't have a lot of space after the bed, but it wasn't cramped either. Bathroom was well presented, providing the luxury of a bathtub. Service was excellent with fast check in, information given regarding available services, and complimentary drink on arrival. Overall, very happy with our experience.

Pool on our 8th floor a real bonus and all round a relaxing visit with helpful staff and excellent room facilities. Good selection of food and drinks in nearby restaurants and pubs.

M. R.Novotel was my Quarantine hotel, and as it's known quarantine is a daunting phase. You stay locked in the same room without any human contact, in this phase what made my experience remarkable was the warmth and care of the staff at Novotel.
Those 14 days ended up becoming most amazing days for me! I had many, many requests for food etc, but each time all my requests were addressed without any second question.
People make the experience better and many virtual hugs to each staff member at Novotel (while physical hugs is not a great idea during this time and age but lots of good vibes all your way)

K. A.Great location in the city, very close to chinatown. Many eateries surrounds the hotel, you won't have problem finding food. We had a standard room, it was very spacious, cleanliness is top notch. We also had a balcony, unfortunately being surrounded by chinatown, there was a noticeable smell of food cooking. I guess that's the price you pay for being in Chinatown. Staff were very nice, can't fault them. Would stay there again
M. J.It has an outdoor rooftop pool and a 24 hour gym. The rooms are very nice and clean, and the room service is a good price for what you get (especially the junior meals). The employees are polite and extremely helpful. Also they sent someone up to our room to thank us for staying there and give us chocolate.
The only thing I can think of that wasn't so great was the view but that didn't matter to much as I was out of the hotel doing stuff anyway.
P.S. They also have people that open the front door for you, which made me feel very fancy and special.
M. A.Good size and renovated rooms. Bathroom is a bit small and shower head low for tall people. Buffet breakfast a bit limited, yet, friendly staff and very clean hotel. It would be nice if there was better lighting in the rooms though. Gym and pool are nice. Very good location with parking. Location close to Chinatown and other amenities. Room service prompt with great food. WI-FI is fast.

I Came to the Novotel Sydney Central for a free importing seminar.
Service; I enjoyed lunch at the restaurant and I thoroughly enjoyed the food and the company. I had the grilled battered fish with crunchy fries and a green salad. The fries were excellent as was my fish and the side salad. The price for my dish was a little expensive I thought priced at $33 given that there are a lot of cafes outside the hotel where you can enjoy good food if not better . The presentation was good this service was good.
Cleanliness;Place was clean, including the facilities.
Parking;There is parking on site - 45 dollars for a full day thereabouts. Don't recommend bringing the car here.
Vibe; Friendly staff, helpful and very engaging.
Value for money;As per my service comment, compared to other hotels of similar rating, this Hotel's prices are normal, (quite expensive, given, that you are so close to Chinatown, where you can get a delicious meal for close to half the price), therefore the value is not very good, and is quite expensive to eat here - I would urge people to reconsider eating here.
Tip; Checkout Chinatown, less than 5 minutes away, or some of the cafe's and takeaways outside of the Hotel-better value for money.
Will not be visiting or dinning here sometime soon.
b. k.the hotel is on a good location full of restaurant and super market even bakery. the lobby is well presented and the staff so sweet they help me so many time with my charger the rooms are quite big enough to be very comfortable. the breakfast is so good as well the only inconvenient is the elevator which take too too long and the gym is very very small but there is a by gym by the corner so it good

The receptionists were very welcoming ,from when I made the booking, to when I left. The rooms were nice and tidy. The bathroom was clean. And the best part is the buffet. Breakfast was the highlight of my day! Quality food and coffee.

Only complaint is the pool / spa.
We love hotel spas and often select our hotels based on this. The spa is small, which is fine but very deep and pool temp. More like a plunge pool.
It certainly didn’t ruin our stay but would have gotten a 5 star rating if spa was up to standard.

It would be better to have few additional toiletries like brush, toothpaste, comb.. and also a bathrobe, slippers would have earned a 5 star..

Without exception, the staff were all happy and very helpful. The room was clean and very comfortable.

Parking is just next door if you need it. Lots of dinning choices around being in Chinatown. Overall, an excellent place to stay Sydney central.

We had to make a request a couple of times (since they forgot) but they were so cheerful it was hard to be annoyed at them.
Rooms: a few dings, scrapes, & worn carpet here and there, but nothing terrible.
Amenities: They really go out of their way to accommodate their guests with a cozy lobby, a kid-friendly area in the lobby, pool, restaurant, guest laundry, apples & cookies at the front desk and more. They really want to take care of their guests and it shows.

The carpets are old and dreadful. They need to be ripped out. The communication between the front desk and the breakfast crew and between the front desk and cleaning crew is non-existent. They do try and fix mistakes but that so many mistakes are made - over and over - indicates something is wrong.
On the plus side, a great place for kids at the lobby. Location is also great.

Only small feedback is that the pool area needs a few things fixing. Good kids menu, great breakfast. I very well run hotel. TV and activities area for kids. Good location to explore Sydney.

A. c.Had a one night stay here and have nothing but good things to say. Hotel was modern and clean, with friendly and helpful staff. Our little ones enjoyed using the pool and there was a kids room on the ground floor with games, PlayStation and a movie. We benefited from a $1 breakfast deal, kids eat free, and the range of food and drink on offer can't be faulted - there was a juicer, pancake maker alongside the usual offerings.
E. R.I don't always stay at a really nice hotel as I rarely spend much time indoors when travelling however I always try and stay at the Novotel when I'm in Sydney. The food is amazing, a bit expensive but that's to be expected. During my recent trip I got a free upgrade to a double queen room but I was travelling alone so it went unused. It was nice for the bigger room though with plenty of floor space. Service is always impeccable! I mean truly! I am happy to pay more for that alone! I love being greated with a smile and they are always so happy to help as well as keep bags longer etc.
I was also ecstatic to see that Novotel had employed a doorman with a disability. It is something that always makes me come back! Truly inspiring! 5 stars!!
P. K.5 Stars for the hotel staff at Reception, 4 stars for the F&B staff. The main food was ok, the cheese platter was generous and worth the $18-. One young lady was attentive, they did have a Lage work crowed however others seemed a little untrained. Over all staff should be congratulated on their polite and positive welcoming vibe they bring to the hotel. I have an Executive room which is large but seems a little run down, no bath which in a suite let along rooms further down the chain should be there.
P. H.We recently stayed at the Novotel Central. Being the 1st time my husband and I had ever stayed in a hotel we unmistakably went to the wrong Novotel and I am happy to report we are so glad. The reception and effort the team at Novotel Central made, to make our 17th Wedding Anniversary memorable, is quiet an understatement, the beautiful concierge team who, made us feel at ease, and explained that other have made the same mistake in Novotels, which was a reassuring feeling.
The room was surprisingly upgraded, and a few luxurious treats were left for us.
The room was HUGE, and clean and bright. We felt like the most important people there, and we're treated like someone special, which I sure they do to every guest.
This we be the 1st of many more stays with Novotel Central, and many more memories to make.

M. _.The place is very good, I'm currently in quarantine here and the food is really good and the staff are very professional and well trained, they always call me to check on me and I really appreciate it, but smokers beware you can't smoke and they try there best to let you kick the habit, they supplied me with nicotine gum and patches for free, that's when I knew that they really cared about my health so yeah I love this place, and for the staff I just wanted to say thank you so much ✌✌✌✌.

B. B.Good quiet but central location to Ultimo area. Staff very helpful and friendly. Seem to always get a massive room. Beds are comfortable and rooms are nice. Seems to be always busy so elevators can be challenging if you are in a rush. Good room service and restaurant is quite good.
E. T.Wi-Fi not works very good, type room number and last name still guest NOT found even though after check in. We call reception to fix it but doesn't work. Finally we ask front desk for help and the lady simply give the vip login for us. On second day, we can use room wifi but only limited to 3 devices as we hv 4 ppls. obviously that's not enough. even worse is after midnight the wifi can't login again while we still not check out. Slippers toothbrush kits are not provided. cups are limited to 2 only simply not matching our 4 ppls group. After all front desk services are excellent, food is good.

Super impressed with the friendly service here - from the minute we arrive - even the doorman was super friendly and even offered my children cookies!
Love the spacious family rooms and kids area in the foyer. The kids also couldn't get enough of the pool.
Whilst not in the heart of the city centre, we could still walk to all the attractions or catch the train or bus when we were too tired to walk.
Definitely would stay again.

I had been treated to a night at this wonderful hotel by an organisation i was entertaining just around the corner and i really want to share my wonderful experience here.
Firstly, the staff -
I am not much of a Sydney girl, so to be here alone, i felt incredibly safe, in the prime location and in wonderful hands. All the beautiful people running this hotel; from working on the desk, taking luggage to storage to the cleaners, were so friendly, approachable, helpful and always acknowledged me by simply saying hello or asking if they could help. The beautiful ladies at the desk remembered my name when it was time for me to order a Taxi which was a lovely surprise! The gentleman who took my luggage into storage, was very considerate on how to handle my luggage and recognised it was fragile and moved it to a safer location on the trolly with no questions! One lovely gentleman also could see I was waiting around for an appointment in the lobby and he came over to check in and offer that i am more than welcome to stay in the building until i had to leave, and also offered me a lovely fresh apple from the counter while i do so! So thank you beautiful people for keeping a big smile on my face. You're wonderful.
Second, the rooms.
They were impeccably clean and well presented. I was of course very excited to be here and to some how have been booked a king room with two massive beds was just a huge bonus (I may have danced on them in excitement, sorry). I felt like a super star! I had plenty of snacks if i needed them, I had a big TV, a bath, a wardrobe, and huge windows to let all the light in. It was perfect!
Thirdly, just the energy of the hotel.
Everyone looked satisfied, they were being looked after and the hotel had the facilities to make everyone happy!

R. A.Very pleasant and accommodating. In the heart of Chinatown if that's your thing. We arrived early from a long international flight and an early check in was provided. The breakfast buffet is excellent and an excellent value for $12, don't miss it.

J. H.Nice convenient hotel near Darling Harbour. Resturaunt is small but I think that the food is quite good. Waiting staff can sometimes be a bit confused but the management do their best to keep things on track. Prices are pretty good. Staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean and in general are ok. Bathrooms are ok but small. They are the only real downside to staying there. Walking distance to Darling Harbour (15 mins) and Sydney Opera House (30 mins).

H.Had a date night with my beautiful wife on the weekend, got some laughs watching some comedy at the Factory Theatre and then had some drinks with a few friends at Gasoline Pony in Marrickville. Stayed the night at Novotel Sydney Central, have always heard good things about this place from my clients, but hadn't stayed over for a while. The newly refurbished rooms were very comfortable and well fitted out, bathrooms were elegant and the bed was just right. Buffet breakfast is one of my favorite things and I was not disappointed, good coffee and a sweet pastry always leaves me feeling good. All the staff we met were friendly and helpful. A good experience, liked it and would happily return.

A. S.The Novotel Sydney Central is generally in an excellent location, at the top end of the city, a stones throw from Chinatown and Darling Harbour. The rooms were clean and comfortable, however they are are poorly designed. I was staying in an executive room (17th Floor). Strangely, there is no real room light. There are reading lights above the bed, but these are extremely bright and impossible to use for the intended purpose. The curtain did not fully cover the window, and allowed light to stream into the room directly onto your face in the morning, no matter the positioning. Otherwise staff were friendly, and attentive. Room contained tea and coffee facilities, including a Nespresso machine, which was a nice touch.
P. V.Had to get a last minute room after being stuffed around by an Air BNB. The hotel staff were so friendly and made our night by organising a couple surprise drinks for us. Great service, will definitely be back again!
C. J.Good location close to central, china town for eats and not too far from darling harbour. Very children friendly. Breaky in the morning was included and quite good with the kids loving the jam donuts. The rooms were good size with 2 queen beds great as the kids were included in the price. $5 happy hour drinks 5-7pm.

J. C.I was in the Executive Floor, which is at the top. The room was quiet, excepting the man next door with the snores that made the entire room reverberate. Comfortable, large room with decently large telly and a coffee machine. This hotel has no personality, but is close to Central station and Chinatown, so benefits from that. There's a Woolworths supermarket close by for snacks. Wifi was free and decently fast.
A. A.Excellent service and very clean. They included breakfast for no extra charge. The hotel is further away from the cbd than some others so not too hectic but still easy to walk or get the free bus on George St. Close to China Town so plenty of restaurants nearby.
E. S.The rooms are clean and spacious. The location is a short walk from Central station and close to Chinatown without it being too close. Because of the location, you'll find a lot of affordable food nearby as well as a supermarket around the corner. The car park for guests is confusing. I wasn't able to find anyone at the car park to answer any questions. We kind of had to figure out where the guest parking was ourselves. I noticed a lot of tour buses and tour groups come by this hotel.

The instant nespresso like coffee machines produce really good coffee by instant like standards, and the food at both the restaurant and the quick snacks were more than tasty..the tiramisu was particularly yummy!!
Only blemish is the tech setup which is stuck in the 80s. No wi-fi except via a 3G dongle and the screens and projectors are afterthoughts!!
But as a reasonable inner city location close to transport,parking and accommodation it gets plenty of ticks!!

PROS - hotel is a short walk from Central Station. Most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. Good buffet breakfast selection.
CONS - bathroom had no towel rails. Noise from the fridge kept me awake so I switched it off. Ice melted & I woke up to a puddle on the floor. Mopped it up with a towel. Nowhere to hang the wet towel because of the aforementioned lack of towel rails.

M. K.When we'd go to watch something at the Sydney Entertainment Centre, we'd always book at the Novotel Rockford. At the end of our stay, I'd always swear NOT to book at the Rockford because the hotel is just bad (bad staff, bad breakfast, rooms too small, etc).
I've now found a new place to stay: Novotel Sydney Central.
From check-in to check-out (including post check-out), staff are consistently nice, friendly and always with a smile. The breakfast food buffet maybe have the same stuff you'll see all around Australia but they have a pancake maker. You can opt to have made-to-order eggs and coffee.
Rooms are big. Bed is nice and firm. Pillows are good. WiFi is free to guest only (Rockford doesn't even give you free WiFi) and limits to up to 4 wireless clients per account. The check-in staff was more than willing to give us additional wireless login account (even though we didn't ask for it).
Check-in staff even gave us free complimentary drinks vouchers ... for no reason at all! FRIENDLY and NICE! G'bye Novotel Rockford!
The downside is the size of the elevators (how you can fit "16" people in a tiny lift, I have no idea) but I'm not going to take away a rating (you're not spending time in the lift).

Hotel is about a 40 min walk from the Sydney Opera House, its located in Chinatown, so decent oriental food in the neighbourhood. St George's and Pitt St is right next door, good for shopping excursions. Rooms are ok, basic with pastel colours.
K. B.Went to Sydney for the weekend with the family. The guys on the concierge desk were so helpful (particularly Aaron). They organised a maxi taxi with a baby seat in it for my 1 year old (something we don't get in Melbourne taxis!). However the rooms are clean and in reasonable condition. The bathroom has been a little bit updated with a cool heated mirror. One of the more reasonably priced options in Sydney. Not the most convenient location to the rest of the CBD though.
N. K. H. H.Great satff and decent room price. Being next to a car park also allows patrons to make use of the hotel as a function space. And it is right in the gear of the city centre and just. 10 min walk to central station.
C. W.Stayed 2 nights so I could go to TEDx Sydney, and the location was very central, although Google Maps kept confusing me by calling it Citigate. The reception staff were lovely and made every effort, including arranging a hot chocolate option in lieu of coffee for the second night. They have a pillow menu, but the pillow I requested wasn't available. No problem there, except housekeeping didn't call me til after 9 to let me know, and with an early start planned I could've done without being woken (I had figured they'd forgotten). Two other useful things to know: there's a taxi rank right outside the door, if you need it, and being in the heart of a student district there are plenty of budget eating options within very close walking distance.

C.I'm an accor member, and with the membership you receive 50% off dinning, however when I went there with a colleague of mine there was no menu for breakfast, so the manager at the time read it out to us, ordered poached eggs, the breakfast was great, however when the bill came, we didn't receive the discount, as apparently that was the bar menu and not the alacarte menu, which my first question was do you guys do alacarte and she said yes, and which bar menu in the world actually serves poached eggs? Sounds like deception to me, when I rang accor and explained my concern, the lady on the phone could not assist me, I asked to speak to a supervisor, the supervisor was busy, I never received a return call back, for all those businesses out there that just focus on sales, think again, that's the easy part, accor plus, retaining your members is harder, if I was accor I would have a call centre focusing on issues at hand to make the system better not for worse. Deceiving your clients is not a good way In doing business.
