I. h.Absolutely LOVED my stay! The Oldbury Cottage is such a beautiful, charming and inspiring cottage. The perfect combination of charm and luxury. I can not wait to come back again and again.
R. W.Fabulous place, and so well deserving of its many awards. The work on the old house is extremely good and detailed, and captures what it might have been like to have lived there in the 1800’s. Yet it has all the mod cons needed to make a really comfy stay. The bed was great, the rooms warm (and the fire set to light when we arrived), the shower is generous and hot, the whole place was inviting, peaceful and extremely comfortable. Cannot recommend it highly enough. If you want a place to stay in Berrima this must be on top of your list. Thanks to Michael and team for making it work so well.

K. J.Oldbury Cottage is a wonderful place to stay. It is cosy, comfortable, charming and steeped in its own history. There are also several lovely luxuries like a large claw footed bath and separate overhead shower, a beautifully comfortable king size bed, a Nespresso machine and wood burning fireplace. It’s the sort of place that welcomes you in and looks after your every need. We absolutely loved our stay and appreciated everything about it. Berrima shops and restaurants are not far and if you book ahead, both Peppertree and Eschalot are superb restaurants. Peppertree also do delicious breakfasts. There are wineries galore to visit during the day and some have a restaurant or cafe for that in between snack. We had 4 days/3 night in Berrima and loved every minute!
J. I.Oldbury Cottage is a hidden gem. Restored to the highest standards it is a real treat to stay there. Immaculately clean, incredibly cosy, crisp bed linen, bath bombs and so many other little treats and thoughtful touches. An easy stroll to a fabulous array of quirky shops, cafes and fine dining. Not to mention some lovely walks and the possibility of spotting a platypus on the banks of the river. Just perfection.

J. F.My boyfriend and I absolutely loved our stay at Oldbury cottage. We stayed 3 nights for the June long weekend. Location is perfect for long weekend traffic, about 1.5 hours from home in Cronulla. Short walk into Berrima meant we could both enjoy a few drinks each day. Michael goes above and beyond. The attention to detail and small touches, like flowers, welcome note and complementary snacks were fab. Very easy check in process, the cottage itself was fantastic. Loved using the fire in lounge (and watching the embers fade from the bed!) and we also used the outdoor fire pit one afternoon, the outdoor seating options are great. The underfloor heating in the bathroom is the best, it felt like a rustic cottage but with a modern, luxury touch. The kitchen was stocked amazing, loved the microwave popcorn and marshmallows! Really nice wine glasses too. The little oven was perfect for heating up some pies we bought from Gumnut. I am so pleased that we booked Oldbury cottage, it was the right choice due to the perfect location and great amenities. I would highly recommend this property to anyone and have already told our friends they need to go! Thank you Michael for a wonderful stay.

A luxurious bathtub that invites you to take a bath with fragrant bathbombs, great water pressure in the shower plus the warmth of a cozy, crackling fire that makes the chilly nights and mornings very comfortable. Information pack extremely useful and as soon as you step in the door, you feel so welcome. Gardens and outdoor facilities excellent. It was lovely to stroll through the cottage garden. Highly recommend this gorgeous cottage. Local food and shopping was a treat!

We don’t have a bath at home so that was amazing to be able to soak in the generous bath and the heated bathroom floor is awesome. There were also plenty of heaters throughout the cottage and firewood for the fire. We also made great use of the coffee machine. All the furnishings are good quality and the home is extremely well presented. The garden is private and worth exploring. We walked into Berrima which was an easy stroll. It is an idyllic setting and the cottage is beautifully restored with all the modern amenities at the turn of a tap or press of a switch ( excellent lighting ). Very private and shielded from the occasional noise of the traffic - we ate breakfast in the sun on the terrace at the back of the house - blissful. A bottle of champagne awaited us - and Michael ( although we never met ) could not have been more helpful. We enjoyed the River Walk on one morning and pottered around Berrima very happily . All you could want - we would have loved to stay longer and will certainly recommend Oldbury Cottage to anyone travelling in this area of NSW. Outstanding !

A. L.A lovely, romantic little cottage. My husband and I were very comfortable during our stay. The bed was comfy, the bath was wonderful and we loved having the fire going in the evenings. We also enjoyed the under-floor heating in the bathroom, the outdoor furniture to soak up some sun and reading the history of the place in the booklet there.
There were nice soaps and bath bombs supplied as well as some basic items (tea, coffee, juice) and a bottle of bubbly, which is always appreciated!
Michael was very quick to answer a few questions I had before we arrived and was very polite and helpful.
I highly recommend the cottage, it was gorgeous at this time of year (August) with all the blossoms and bulbs flowering and it's only a short walk in to town, which is also very lovely.

Whilst the ambience and design make you feel like you’ve taken a step back in time, the owners have spared no expense in adding all the mod-coms to make your stay relaxed and comfortable.
You cannot surpass the quality of Oldbury Cottage. The attention to detail is evident from the moment you step in.
Externally, the property itself is smashing! Lush green landscapes, a gorgeous wood fire pit constructed from old horseshoes and an amazing courtyard.
Location wise, it’s a short walk into town and about 10 minutes drive to local wineries.
I would not hesitate in recommending Oldbury Cottage. We will definitely be back for another getaway.

Snug in the winter and cool in the summer (we fell in love with it the first time so just had to come back), the owners have made it extremely comfortable and do not stint on luxury touches. M. H.Oldbury Cottage is such a beautiful example of early Australian architecture. We spent the most special couple of days here and loved walking around Berrima, exploring the shops and restaurants. It's close to the village and has a beautiful garden. You feel like you are really experiencing something unique and there are lots of really thoughtful touches.
J. C.Ahhhhmayyyyzing. From the first walk up through the garden to the walk through the rooms and out to the back, you're immediately transported back to a time past, but with some modern twists in kitchen and bathroom amenities.

We were looking for a comfortable place to stay near Berrima for a couple of days and came across this beautiful property. A very old timber and stone cottage that has been expertly and tastefully restored, set off the road in a beautiful, wooded garden. A lot of thought has gone into the restoration and all the fittings are of the highest quality. The owners have retained much of the original building and walls then complemented these with modern touches such as free internet, underfloor heating , and a large free-standing bath. We arrived on a fairly cold night but there were multiple electric heaters and a wood-burning stove to ward off the chill wind. Though peaceful and secluded the cottage is only a short walk from Berrima village. Our host was quick to respond with booking details and answers to any questions and made sure that our stay began in the best possible way with an ice-cold bottle of sparkling wine.

E. S.Recently, friends of mine were visiting the Southern Highlands, and not having the room to host them at my home in Berrima, I suggested they stay at Oldbury Cottage in Oldbury Road in Berrima. My friends had wonderful time in this meticulously restored colonial era cottage in historic Berrima and heaped praise on the hosts Stewart and Michael, who could not have been more helpful. I can highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the Highlands or passing though from Melbourne or Sydney as Berrima is just 1 km off the motorway.

While the husband dozed on the comfy lounge in front of the fan I found lovely places to sit within the beautiful grounds. Oh, and the bath and lavender scented bath bombs were such a treat! Just far enough away from the main street to feel a million miles away. Would love to return.

The bedding was comparable to 5 star hotel linen, the bathroom facilities while looking "rustic" are amazing, the shower and water pressure is great, the bath is fabulous and then there is the heated floor (insert love heart emoji). The fire was set up ready to go, instructions for the fire, wifi and even a google chrome for netflix was an unexpected bonus. The kitchen was great looking over the gardens, and the entire property was spotless. I could not recommend it highly enough, 5 Star country accomodation in my opinion.
