Comments of Port Stephens Koala Sanctuary
P. P.
The Koala sanctuary is great, had an amazing walk from the Koala Shores Holiday park to there and really enjoyed the shore walk with the gumtrees sand patches and being able to bring my dog around on the walk which was amazing!
We love the whole area around Lemon Tree Passage and would highly recommend it to any visitors. It’s far from the action (saying that it’s only 40min drive from Nelson bay) but that gives you a peaceful walk and secluded spot to spend a relaxing day rather than being surrounded by tourists everywhere!

We had a brilliant two night stay at the sanctuary. The staff were incredibly helpful, the room was spotless and had everything we needed, and it was so peaceful and beautiful to stay overnight at the sanctuary. It was lovely listening to the birds!
We also got a special tour for guests staying at the sanctuary before it opened to the public, which was fantastic.
They had provided us with a really generous continental breakfast catered for our dietary requirements. This was such a beautiful touch and we enjoyed eating breakfast outside our room looking out at the trees.
We would love to return and recommend this highly to anyone visiting the Port Stephens area! It's a great way to support this sanctuary.

We stayed in the glamping tent and it was a fine experience. The place had lots of birds, koalas in house care was very good. There is a guide to talk us about koalas and show us the koalas that they care at the sanctuary. Nice place for kids to learn about koalas and nature. The place is very close of lots of other lookout places. Must stay here

Great local attraction and addition to Port Stephens for tourism. The center is new, educational, friendly and I would highly recommend a visit for a few hours. Good to know you’re contributing to the sanctuary and the recovery, care and rehabilitation of Koalas. The glamping tents look spacious and I would consider staying a night or 2.
D. B.
We had the perfect 4 night stay and were well looked after the entire time.
All the staff are extremely friendly. Special shout out to Tracy for her complimentary koala walking tour around the sanctuary!
Continental breakfast was handy and saved us money. Really liked the mobile text communication each day, so that we received regular updates and could ask a question when needed.
The sanctuary is situated in a tranquil bushland, yet just a few minutes drive away you have beaches and all the local attractions in Nelson Bay.

Lovely place! Nice & quiet, but we were there in the off peak. The glamping tents are cool, good for the experience, but wouldn't do it again, they're a bit too close together.
Definitely try it because the funds go to an amazing cause, looking after the these sweet little creatures who would have no hope in the wild, good on you PSKS team. 👍
A. P.
Beautiful glamping tents with en-suite and aircon 👍🏽👍🏽 super clean and a very nice welcome hamper with juice and cereals and bread. we love it! 8am tour of the koala enclosure when they’re most active, super cute for the little one to see. Special thanks to our amazing guide Melinda, everyone here is very friendly and welcoming and knowledgeable about koalas!
P. J.
Small but perfectly formed. This facility has great displays of koalas and there's even a couple wild ones just outside the fences. Clamping arrangements look great too.
D. L.
Stayed at the deluxe studio. Room was nicely presented and clean. Liked how there was cereal, milk and even juice provided. The sanctuary itself was extremely well run and maintained. However, did not like that there was no wifi service to the room. Reported the issue but my concerns were dismissed by the front desk, saying wifi service may "drop in and out" which is total lie as there was absolutely no network reception around the vicinity of our room. There is only wifi near where the glamping tents are so note this if wifi is important to you.
S. P.
Not much really to see.quiet afew injured koalas that have been hit by cars in recent years all in there own little pens.
Wheelchair accessible to a certain extent.the skywalk is OK for wheelchairs but has a slight incline and is quiet hard when the weather is very hot.oh and there is a wandering iguana.
L. H.
Such a beautiful and clean place to see! Very friendly and approachable staff. We were extremely lucky to see some koalas awake and eating! Beautiful coffee from the cafe and the gift shop is definitely worth a look 😊
M. T.
They are doing great work protecting the Koalas. The accommodation is very good, the staff very friendly and helpful.
Our room in a cabin was spacious, and well supplied. The entire environment is very peaceful and tranquil.
B. R.
Excellent stay! Staff were super friendly. Koala viewing was nice, the animals were well looked after.
Nice quiet place to relax for the weekend.
Not too far from some nice beaches.
M. G.
We decided to have a quick getaway for the weekends to Port Stephens and was looking for accommodation and came across this and it had 1 last room left. So decided to book and stayed here for two nights in the Superior Glamping Tent. It was the best last minute decision. We had the BEST experience. My 2 kids really enjoyed themselves. Lovely staff members, always smiling and welcoming and helpful. The tent was spectacular and clean and very chilled environment.
It is located in the middle of everything E.g. Toboggan Hill Park, The Go Karts, Sharks and Ray encounter, Shopping mall, fishing spots etc. Not a far drive to anything.
The Koala Sanctuary was also great, they look after the koala's very well. You also get to see the koalas in the hospital when it is getting treated as there is a big window. My kids love to go and have a look at the koalas in the trees and try to spot them every morning before we head out.
If you love to wake up to nature and hear the birds especially the kookaburras, you have to give this place a go. Great for the kids too. Would definitely go back again. Very chilled environment. Highly recommend this place to stay if your visiting Port Stephens for the holidays :)

Glamping at the Koala Sanctuary was an amazing experience.
Number 10 was Deluxe Glamping for 2. It was closest to the koalas, where you could hear them bellowing and possibly see one of them from your deck.
The tent was luxury in appearance with a bathroom (toilet, vanity and shower), TV, reverse cycle air-conditioning, fan, a big deck with table and chairs plus deck chairs.
Tea/coffee making facilities, toaster, microwave, mini fridge and sink. Crockery, cutlery and everything needed to self cater.
A communal BBQ is located right at the back of #10.
A really nice touch was the hamper filled with local produce which included crackers, fruit, chocolate, muesli, sparkling cuvee, jam, quince paste and mixed nuts. In the fridge was milk, yoghurt, 2 x cheese and juice.
Visiting the koalas often was so special, the more time we spent with them made spotting them easier. Also using the pool and spa, going on the guided walk, buying food and souvenirs from the Cafe and sponsoring a koala all added to our wonderful stay.
The staff and volunteers were amazing, knowledgeable, friendly, informative and dedicated to the koalas.
The whole experience felt like a few days of luxury that we've not had before and was an absolutely perfect way to celebrate our 25th Wedding Anniversary.
I hope we can return next year.
C. Z.
From the second we got there the staff were fantastic. The Sanctuary accommodation is great value for money and the Sanctuary itself is Terrific.
M. A.
It was a lovely experience, koalas are really well looked after and you can see them on the top of the trees.
J. G.
We had a very short stay before the recent lockdowns and we had a wonderful stay. The sanctuary does a wonderful job at allowing injured koalas to have a beautiful home where to enjoy the rest of their lives in security and nature. All koalas at the park are unable to live in the wild as they may have been victim of car accidents or be partially/totally unable to see.
The volunteers are super kind and care deeply for the animals.
It is a wonderful place to learn about these cute animals and to respect them as wild animals as well.
E. B.
Lots of koalas to see as the walk winds around the park. Easy walk, great for kids, families and its wheelchair friendly. Also has a nice cafe and small gift shop.
A. M.
Well worth a visit if you’re staying nearby. A beautiful, peaceful spot to check out some koalas.
T. I.
Customer service was amazing. When we purchased our tickets we were given a thorough run down of what to expect and were told to take out time and try to find all the koalas. The sanctuary is quite open with lots of glamping tents.
Enclosures were really clean and tidy and it's an attraction that you would probably spend 90 minutes at.
J. E.
Had an awesome time! The complete sanctuary is very clean, well maintained and seeing the koalas being looked after, was simply amazing! The skywalk and enclosures on either sides are very well build. We simply loved it!
D. H.
Stayed 5 nights fantastic very quiet just nature calling fogs croking, black cockatoos, and koalas very peaceful highly recommend room was big and clean king bed was great
N. L.
We couldn’t really get close to the koalas as they were high In The trees. The entry fees went to a good cause though.
S. H.
Helpful staff. Worth seeing what they do for the injured kola's. Keep up the good work 👏
A. F.
Beautiful sanctuary. Outstanding, knowledgeable and caring staff. Clean facilities and well maintained tents with everything you need. The koalas and the sanctuary is beautifully integrated, so peaceful. The kids and our family loved it. We’ll be back. Thanks Koala Sanctuary for a wonderful stay!
S. -. S.
Lovely sanctuary caring for sick koalas. Lots of fun finding all the koalas in their trees. Family friendly, relaxed and quiet environment. Frequent reminders to keep quiet for the koalas might make the space suitable for those sensitive to sensory overload (particularly in the morning). The path was paved and is likely wheelchair accessible. The staff were super friendly to a Muslim couple and very informative. The sanctuary is available to public not only for guests staying the night.
A. M.
This is one of the best days out to have. There are koalas either recovering or living in the Sanctuary. You can get quite close to them but not touch as they are wild. Excellent facilities and great coffee.
A. S.
We had a terrific 3 night stay which exceeded our expectations. The staff were excellent in communicating with us about the check-in procedures. The room was extremely clean and the variety of breakfast foods provided was more than enough for the stay. The morning tour was great and all of our interactions with the staff were pleasant. Convenient location to explore the Port Stephens area but far enough to feel like you are somewhat in nature. Internet and mobile reception was poor from our room but we didn't mind as it helped us stay in holiday mode. Highly recommend.
A. S.
Got to see several koalas which was lovely. Best suited to adults and teens as it’s a bit passive for most kids. Wear comfy shoes and a hat and bring a bottle of water. The cafe is nice if limited, but the gift shop is really quite lovely.
M.
Stayed one night, pricey but such a relaxing stay. Staff are very friendly and what a great welcome and information package provided when we first arrived. Accommodation was very clean and luxurious. Would have been great if there were more walking tracks around the property.
I.
Lovely place to walk around and cute koalas. Look up they are on the trees and asleep.
K. O.
Not many koalas to see (they're up in the trees) and no contact, but good art/sculptures and information signs.
C. G.
Such an amazing habitat for koalas😊 its clean, quite and plenty of greens for the bubs!!
I highly appreciate the workers and volunteers especially sponsors for the tremendously beautiful environment they've created for the animals! Well done guys...
Highly recommended for children so they learn and appreciate wildlife 😊
k. f.
Our stay at Port Stephens Koala Sanctuary was very memorable. The staff - including the volunteers all care for the koalas with a passion. The actual facility was very well thought out. We have been just after the sanctuary was re-opened so lots of work still going on in the gardens but discreetly. Would I go again? Most definitely. Not only because the sanctuary was a wonderful experience but also to support the staff and koalas. If I lived closer I would become a volunteer.
G. D.
Well worth the visit. The kids had fun trying to spot the koalas and we found all of them. Probably only one hour's worth of things to do there, so combine it with a trip to One Mile Beach or something else. Cafe had nice sausage rolls and one of the best hot chocolates I've had for a while, if you like that sort of thing 😊
J. C.
Reading the minority of negative reviews, I'm not sure what people expect from a visit. No, you can't pat a koala (thank goodness). No, you don't see scores of koalas swinging through the trees (they sleep 20 hours a day). We stayed 2 nights. the accommodation was very good, it was peaceful and on the skywalk we saw and photographed about 8 koalas. An informative early morning tour was included. There is a nice pool and a cafe. Council should be applauded for funding such a good cause. We were very glad to support it and thankful for the wonderful volunteers devoting their time. Maybe the day admission could be a bit lower and offer an additional voluntary donation. The glamping tents are quite expensive and popular at weekends, but when we were there on weekdays, they were mostly empty. Could I suggest a price reduction for weekdays and more people might stay?
E. S.
Enjoyed our visit to this new attraction (opened 8 weeks before our visit). Go early in the day to see the Koalas being a bit more active. Great to see the insured Koalas being looked after. Entry price feels a bit steep until you remember it is going towards helping to care for these special Australian animals.
M. K.
Serenity. Peaceful.
Onsite accommodation is available in the Sanctuary.
You can see a glimpse of the sand dune from the treetop walk. Gentle incline and decline to and from the walk—nice spot to visit with families.
The admission cost is a bit high; however, the Sanctuary is well looked after, and there is a good cause behind it.
P. F.
Really lovely place
Friendly and informative staff. Great stories about the koalas.
A. L.
Wonderful rehabilitation facilities for our beautiful and iconic Koalas =) A nice easy stroll to the sanctuary section up the back and quite fun with our toddler trying to spot the Koalas high up in the trees! Some people expect much more here in reviews but keep in mind that your funds are going to a great cause looking after injured and sick Koalas =)
b. b.
Great place to take the kiddies for a short outing. Lots of koalas to see and it is all pram friendly, although the kiddies might want a boost up to see into the trees.
The koalas are kept in a beautiful homes and are well looked after by friendly volunteers.
R. A.
We stayed 2 nights at the Port Stephens Koala Sanctuary, it was excellent and educational! We really enjoyed the morning tour of the sanctuary which was led by a passionate and knowledgable guide, we learned so much from her. The work this sanctuary does to rehabilitate koalas and eventually help them return to the wild is amazing. The staff are so friendly and helpful and you can tell they are passionate about koalas and wildlife. The koala sanctuary is well located and makes for a fantastic base to enjoy a weekend away in Port Stephens. The accommodation is good value for money and clean. Great for families, schools or couples/singles who are interested in animals and nature.
G. S.
Awesome place doing a fantastic job caring for our fragile wild life. Pleasant and peaceful stroll which takes you up close to some cute locals who have a tough time. Highly recommended experience.
M. M.
The staff is great. Rooms are so clean it’s a pleasure to stay there. Swimming pool and a jacuzzi, plenty of space, surrounded by tall trees, the koalas are safe there for sure. I loved it. I’ll come back again
G. H.
We spent a few hours stopping by on a road trip. The centre was very passionate about rehabilitating their koalas and we learnt a lot during our visit. It was great to see all the koalas recovering in their enclosures.
P. C.
Lovely place
Don’t go in expecting your day to be filled with hours of attractions to see like a zoo this amazing place is a sanctuary to Koalas and they do an amazing job.
Easy online booking and parking, there’s a cafe although we did not eat . All up it took us less than 30 minutes with a toddler ($52 for two adults and free toddler) we read the plaques, took photos, touched the various koalas sculptures that make a good photo op, looked into the koala hospital which thankfully didn’t have a patient inside, went through the push gate upto the climb to checkout the koalas. Lovely to see the love and care going into looking after these animals and our price of admission can help it was well worth the trip.
Everything’s wheel chair accessible which is also amazing.
Purchased a soft toy on the way out too $26 for a rather larger cockatoo , great price compared to many other places
:) happy day and burnt the energy out of our toddler for a happy nap
L. M. W.
What a wonderful place!!!! We absolutely loved our glamping tent stay. The staff were so helpful and friendly. They have staff and volunteers who care for the Koalas. Will definitely be going back. 😍
B. W.
We stayed onsite at Port Stephens Koala Sanctuary in the 1 bedroom suite and had a wonderful time! The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The Sanctuary itself is very beautiful, quiet and relaxing. We also really enjoyed our early morning Koala tour and learned a lot of great facts! Definitely recommend staying onsite.
F. G.
Lovely accomodation and friendly staff , excellent for families
K. I.
They do a wonderful job looking after the sick and injured koalas but as a tourist attraction, it's sad and very expensive for what it is. Really, it shouldn't be an attraction at all. I'd save your money and go to an actual wild life park.
J. W.
Still new but good potential and a relaxing visit. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Sad to see all damaged koalas but all being well looked after. When visiting just remember it is a refugee for hurt koalas!
M.
Beautifilly laid out, eco tents (v.pricey) cafe onsite, serene "clinic" for cuties
S. W.
We stayed in the onsite clamping tents for 3 nights, the staff were lovely and helpful at every opportunity.
The glamping tents are immaculate and well set out, plenty of space for our family of four. A small kitchen with a microwave was more than suitable and the onsite bbq’s were clean and close by.
The pool was fun and kids enjoyed playing whilst we relaxed on the loungers.
Koala sanctuary and tour was really nice, the volunteers were happy to answer any questions and they seemed really knowledgeable and passionate. It’s not big but we visited 3 times and saw different things and learnt something new each time.
B. J.
Amazing experience. They have displayed a lot of curious information about koalas and play areas for kids. There is a reserved area for koalas where we can watch them eat and sleep. Didn't find anything in the Koala hospital. Very friendly staff.
M. B.
The whole experience completely exceeded my expectations. I nearly had a heart attack when I saw the price for one night in the studio deluxe room, however as it was a birthday gift for my mother I decided to go along with it. It quickly became apparent it was so worth the price! A lot of accomodation in the Bay Area is in a similar price range, without all the amazing inclusions the Koala Sanctuary offered. In the studio was an amazing breakfast, a half loaf of bread and spreads, granola, fresh milk, tea, and coffee grounds with a French press. In addition to this, for breakfast we were able to select a danish or muffin from the cafe, and a hot drink of our choice. Also included was unlimited access to the sanctuary, along with a guided tour led by Trac(e)y, who was amazing. The koalas are obviously very well cared for, and the enclosures are pristine. The grounds are lovely, although there isn’t much shelter for if it rains, which it did. All the staff were friendly and helpful, Trac(e)y was by far the best. I would definitely recommend the overnight accomodation as a gift or a getaway!
N. T.
Great place to witness these beautiful creatures and learn a bit about their fragile balance with humans
C. A.
This place is very new only just opened when I visited. It was really nice and layed out very well.
If you love our little endangered friends this place is a must! I highly recommend as you get to see our little furry friends recovering and having another shot at life and you also get to hear the sad story on why they are in here for.
Do recommend visiting if your in Port Stephen's.
D. M.
Has the potential to be top-notch. With recently planted native gardens among the mature vegetation, the rescued koalas are well housed. A beautiful setting for a much-needed service.
J. F.
Stay at the glamping, it was wonderful experience with guided tour in the morning. The accommodation is clean and spacious. Can not fault it and an opportunity to support their work.
D. G.
Great value for money. Was very impressed with the accommodation. Clean, convenient location. Well equipped with microwave, toaster, kettle, dishes, cutlery and cups. Small issues were that the sofa bed was not very comfortable though as the mattress is quite thin and the water pressure for the shower was not very strong but as a whole the place exceeded our expectations. Had a pool and tennis court plus a koala sanctuary within the grounds. Staff were very friendly, welcoming and informative. Would definitely recommend this place for value. We paid just a little over $1000 for 7 nights over Christmas. Could not get that elsewhere.
a. k.
Great place with a cool gift shop and Cafe. Great coffee also! ☕
G. L.
Wonderful! I didnt know that the Koala Sanctuary was only 10 weeks old but someone else mentioned it to me. We were lucky enough to watch the vet in action doing Kais chemotherapy and enjoyed the wander around.
E. D.
Amazing. The grounds are beautiful. So sad to read about the injured koala's. The noise that the male koala up the tree was very loud.
M. W.
Only visited but looks like a nice place to stay too. Was fun finding all the koalas in the trees, and nice to see a place like this caring for the koalas. Plenty of personal bios on the koalas too, which was nice
V. B.
Wonderful sanctuary for koalas. Easy to see the koalas. Well landscaped and informative. Well worth a visit and to support.
R. S.
They do fantastic work, well set out and worth visiting.
p. k.
Great place to spend time with nature. I was in one of the Glamping Tents which is brilliantly maintained. You have all the comfort with the authenticity. The staffs are very kind and helpful.
R. V.
Tracy and Teagan were great in guest services. They were so helpful with me as a carer and the two disabled adults I was assisting. We enjoyed it very much. Great complimentary snacks and drinks in the glamping tent!
D. G.
Go to the viewing platform at dusk just before close so you can see the koalas at their most active. We saw them climbing up and down trees, jumping to and from branches and heard them bellow. It was incredible.
R. E. M.
Good place to relax. Affordable tent sites, 33$. The place is small, has a also small pool, the toilets and showers are temporary but overall not bad. There is not so many people so you can relax and we saw a koala! I guess they will build better amenities because would be worth it.
R. Z.
Only koalas in several trees. Nothing displayed at hospital window.
M. C.
Just beautiful. Lives up to its name with landscaping that has preserved the bush setting. Spacious layout with no crowding at all. Lovely rooms open straight onto bush gardens. The one bedroom units have spa baths, well appointed kitchens and well insulated construction keeping the interior comfortable. Air conditioning excellent if needed. There is also a hot tub in the grounds, beside the pool. Ten minute bushwalk to the beach and easy access to shops by car or public transport. Staff are helpful but everything is so well catered for you don't need them. Ice-creams for sale at office with children's activity books. Wildlife watchers will enjoy the birds, koalas and many more Australian natives. A koala hospital will be constructed in the grounds soon including a viewing platform. Whole place just heavenly.
T. S.
Definitely the best choice in the region! For a affordable price, you get a modern cabin, spacious tent spot or a caravan/van space where you also don't have to worry about your neighbours putting his stuff in front of your door. Everything ist well looked after and very clean! There is no playground for kids, but a nice pool, asphalt tennis court and Koala sanctuary.
The beach is just a short work out the back and the especially friendly staff has good local recommendations!
B. S.
Small cabins looked nice took a sneak peak but the place is small as I said a and it needs more koalas and something else for younger kids who might get boerd esilly
I. A.
Good place if u want to see a Koala really close. Large park. Accommodation on site.xouls be nice to have few more animals there
S. M.
Excellent facility. Easy to see the Koalas and staff are friendly and informative. Koala hospital is so valuable to helping these poor little creatures.
V. W.
Lovely, quiet sanctuary to learn about koalas and see some rescued koalas being well cared for.
Š. S.
We stayed at the accommodation which was lovely and clean. Plus you get a tour through the sanctuary for free! It's for a great cause and I can only recommend it
d. t.
Just returned from a two night stay. Cant wait to go back. Took our tweenagers and we all loved it. Cant complain about the price and the facilities are clean and easy to use. The bush setting and the space between each site is fine, no one setting up right on top of you.
Easy walk to the beach on the bush track.
Wish we could have stayed longer..
A. K.
Beautiful settings in the bush and gumtrees. We were there outside school holidays in Autumn, it was fantastic, very peaceful. Family friendly. Beautiful swimming pool, jacuzzi, tennis courts. Next to an injured koalas clinic so you may be able to spot some.
L. G.
Our stay was amazing, the glamping tents provide all the luxuries of a hotel room and you get a lovely hamper of food and breakfast inside. A tour of the sanctuary is included and the staff are super friendly and helpful, you even get texts with updates about housekeeping. On top of the luxury accommodation, you are staying a stone's throw from adorable rescue koalas to which you have unlimited visits. The skywalk is an awesome way to view the koalas, make sure you get a tour for more insight into their stories. Only a short drive into Nelson Bay and the other bays where the main tourist attractions are. Overall could not recommend staying at the koala sanctuary enough!! The service and facilities are 5 star, would definitely stay again.
S. R.
Rooms recently renovated, look very nice and modern, especially for the price. Room and bathroom nice and clean. Bungalows placed among trees, it is so quite and peaceful. Good size pool with warm water. Beaches, shopping centre, sand dunes, Tomaree National Park, restaurants and more in a radius of up to 15min drive.
M. L.
Awesome place to take the kids, they loved learning about the koalas' habitats as well as seeing them up close.
S. S.
The Sanctuary is amazing and the Staff were great. 🐨🐨
P. M.
Beautiful and peaceful Sanctuary to see rescued Koala's living our their lives. Amazing place that helps these sweet creatures.
P. N.
Very informative and staff are friendly. Only a few Koala. It a place were sick and injured koala are keeps.
R. M.
Really spacious and clean rooms for the price and love the fact that we were in the middle of a reserve surrounded by trees and wildlife. We didn’t get the name of the lady at reservation but she was lovely. She made an effort to chat with my 8 year old and gave her a hug. My daughter says shes the best ever! Only complain is that the accommodation is by the main road as such you can still hear the traffic at times. At nights you can get rascals ramming their engines just for the fun of it and it can disturb you. Would be my only issue with the place really. Other than that, no complaints at all!
D. E.
A great place to experience these beautiful creatures who are endangered. Please visit and donate to make sure they are here in years to come .
H. S.
Great to see another Koala hospital in NSW but I did have to wonder if it would be more humane to euthanase the Koala that is permanently brain damaged and can "be seen walking in circles and drooling ". This made me sad.
K. Q.
really great place. its only small so you dont vet big crowds which is great. the staff were lovely. you dont always see them but they have a Koala rehab area inside the park. the showers and toilets are temporary but always clean and tidy. this side of port stephens is probably the better side, away from the crowds and loads of beaches to beach hope. they also have a pool and its close to the 4x4 track to the beach.
s.
The camp ground is one of the nicest we've been to. The spa with the hot whirl pool is the highlight of the evening (would be great if it would be open an hour or two longer since its more enjoyable during night). Furthermore the unpowered camp spots are quite big so there is lots of space. We also liked the location, surrounded by trees and beautiful samurai beach just 15 minutes walk. All in all a perfect 4 days stay. Greetings Samiha and Nikolai
T. P.
Good looking setup, it could be so much more. Sanctuary a good thing. Paying fee for visit felt like charity thou, not much value for money.
O. P.
Nice glamping tents good amenities
S. C.
Positives:
Nice location, ammenities and facilities. Also quieter the local competition.
Negatives:
The staff were distant and the price is similar to local competition that has a more attractive environment. We only saw staff when we were checking out.
Recommendation:
Stay in one of the other parks if you have kids as they will like the options other parks have.
M. B.
This is our 2nd time. Cabins are good. Camp and caravan grounds are not over crowded.
Easy acces to the nudes beach. Samaria beach.
I have also seen my first wild koala.
C. H.
Lovely wall and nice area, staff are lovely and the entire walk is wheelchair accessible which is nice. But a bit expensive for the experience.
S. B.
A beautiful place for a day trip and there were small beautiful tents and you can enjoy whole day with cute koalas.
N. H.
Great walks for easy viewing koalas
Good job also good coffee and snacks.
S. S.
Rehabilitated Koalas. Lovely experience. You won’t spend more than an hour here but it’s worth it.
M. B.
Fantatsic space that cares for injured koalas. Enjoyed my visit.

Lovely place, Beautiful grounds and pool. Was very dissapoonted though that for the cost we had to clean our own rooms even strip our own beds before you leave or they charge you $60/hr. I dont recall being advised this before making a booking. I Recommend you don't use the spa bath in room. I filled ours up, turned it on before getting in and all this muck came out of the pumps, was disgusting looked like Sandy mud. I didn't end up having a spa very disappointed, this was to be a little luxury for me. I advised the office they did say "sorry about that" but that was it, felt they didn't care. Was expensive for these reasons. I've paid less for better accom and didn't have to clean.

We were very happy we chose to stay at Treescape. Staff were friendly and very accomodating. It was our first time in Port Stephens and they were kind enough to orient us which place to explore especially with kids. Room is clean and complete with utensils, microwave, toaster and kettle and tele. If you don't mind driving for about 5-10 min to the shops this place is ideal, budget and child friendly. Although this place is wifi free, it didn't matter to us. It was a good time to just talk and spend time with family without the internet.

Peaceful, tranquil park - wildlife in abundance. Basic amenities but clean. Great camp kitchen, pool area lovely.
Staff very friendly and efficient.
Definitely recommend.
S. T.
Amazing. Well worth a visit. Highly recommended.
C. G.
Easy to get in, great location, cheap if booked directly, staff are great, toilets are clean and lots of parking. Koala's too! 5 minutes to beach with pool and spa!?

We stayed in one bedroom suite as a couple. It's homey and cosy. I can cook dinner and prepare food before we head out. The jacuzi in the bathroom is so amazing! The bed is comfy too!
G. D.
Great camping site, large common BBQ area, large pool area, hot showers, powered sites available. Really close to the beach. Good for families or mates weekend away.
G. M.
Amazing place, highly recommended . The place is in the middle of building the new Koala hospital and the new glamping accommodation but it's getting there should be ready by April 2020.
S. A.
Great place to learn a little bit about koalas and their habitat. Do not expect more than that.
W. S.
Spacious grounds, spacious studio rooms, lovely garden/bush setting & looks beautiful day or night. Provides dedicated assistance to injured koalas. Pool, sports courts (tennis, volleyball), heated spa - affordable place to stay. Good for individuals, couples & families.
D. P.
Very nicely designed and landscaped. It's a good tourist attraction while serving a very worthwhile purpose.
L. M.
Had a fabulous time. The atmosphere and facilities are fantastic. Samurai beach is magnificent despite the fishtailing 4wds up and down the beach. Still an enjoyable spot and great accomodation
K. C.
We used a Groupon voucher to stay here and really enjoyed it. The setting of the pool and spa was lovely amongst the trees and the room was clean and comfortable. Thanks!
C. G.
I found the most wonderful beach for a long walk on the waters edge and swim so near Port Stephens Treescape. My cabin is just nice surrounded by trees and so quiet. Regards Carol
M. E.
A budget friendly, clean, well put together room set in a lovely lush green environment, just a few minutes walk to the beach. We booked the deluxe room, which had all the amenities we needed for our two night stay. The rooms are nothing flashy, but they have everything you need to be comfortable. The location of Treescape is also really central to all the destinations you will can't to visit in Port Stephens 🌲🌲🌱
L. I.
Wow what a beautiful environment to spend time in. The lawns and gardens are so natural and blend into the national park melaleuca forest backing onto the ocean. Just an amazing relaxing environment. We stayed in the deluxe cabins which were tastefully renovated, clean, and extremely comfortable. The staff were most friendly helpful and informative. Check in was a breeze. Its my secret place now and I hope to spend more time there so dont tell anyone please!
W. R.
Well set out. Great to see so many koalas rehabilitated after being hit by cars.
H. T.
Not so expensive place to stay over, not so far from great surroundings. It's located in a national Park, which I truly loved about, surrounded by trees, nature. They also have swimming pool, spa, tennis and volleyball court.
L. S.
Very friendly staff who obviously truely care about the koalas. Melinda is brilliant.
R. D.
Lovely & clean...maybe more seating positionned around walkways would be good.
V. T.
The koalas are so cute
M. F.
the place was really nice big sites, the office staff was very accommodating...was caught by surprise at the beach, never would have guessed it... all in all was great, although the security guard was a bit tempremental (no need to be intimidating to prove his point) it was the only downside of our stay would have given five stars
A.
Brilliant. Beautiful. Caring. Gorgeous facility for our beloved koalas.
E. D.
Lovely to be in a quiet place and see koalas naturally up in the trees
E.
Good but I got hand sanitizer in my eye when I squirted it
A. T.
Management need to be more diligent in monitoring park rules and guest behaviour. A few loud and disruptive guests were able to make the stay uncomfortable for the whole park.
B. N.
Very nice camping which make you feel in the middle of nature. Small scale but good facilities and spacious pitches and a great pool. On the premises is a koala sanctuary.
J. M.
Very nice, leafy green with pool. Staff are perfect and very accommodating. Amenities are clean and maintained but a little small. Would recommend and return.

Grassed unpowered sites are more dirty than the others. Grass is run down but still a good spot. Lots of amimals like Possums and Kookaburras.
c. o.
Really good facilities, just wished the place was cleaner, has a tiny TV & the furniture really needs updating for sanity purposes.
L. B.

D. E.
It's a very nice experience, however I thought that it was to expensive.

So nice to see the injured/recovered koalas enjoying their "semi wild life" living style here. The staffs/volunteer there are very knowledgeable, passionate and kind, we got to know a lot about the koalas, see active koalas (sort of, haha). We left with a very positive impression that the koalas are taken good care of by the staff, and we all agreed they are living in a 5 star resort!
Highly recommended for families to visit and donate.
H. W.
a wonderful experience. such dedicated staff and excellent surroundings. recommend highly
A. B.
A lovely place to visit, you forget you are so close to hustle and bustle!
The walk amongst the koalas is a relaxing, easy walk and the friendly volunteers show the resident koalas are well loved and cared for. The hospital viewing room gives an insight into the life saving work they carry out. I haven't stayed there overnight yet, but the glamping tents look amazing and I can't wait for the opportunity to stay. The small cafe and gift shop are a beautiful way to end the visit without rush. I would definitely visit again, I am planning it now!
S. R.
Amazing place to stay. Near the road but incredibly quiet. Cannot fault anything about the sanctuary, accommodation and the staff have all gone above and beyond. Highly recommended for a relaxing holiday
D. G.
Excellent experience, and the staff are really helpful and friendly.

Fantastic place to visit for the whole family

(Translated) The staff is friendly and the facilities are also very good. Unfortunately, it is hard to get a car without a car and the pool is smaller than you think. The good thing is that there is an electric grill barbecue area and it is good to use in the evening, and the garden is also nice.
