A simple pub in Middle if refurbishment - steel gates blocking use of part of indoor area however quite comfortable bench tables with cover. Inside is very small and 'old school'. Crumbed squid strips from the standard pub grub menu were lovely, other food being delivered looked great and drinks well priced, even though I had to explain what Pimms was. Very much a beer and bourbon, maybe vodka or a simple cocktail "for the ladies". Staff need training on how to deal with drunk patrons, including cutting people off and removal, even if the customer is a regular. People only behave how they are allowed to. It should not take a fellow patron, female, to step in and tell a noisy obnoxious regular to shut up or leave - especially during a show tickets had been purchased for. Similarly, if doing live entertainment for purchase, check tickets and prevent non ticket holders from attending, otherwise we paying customers feel ripped off. Generally a nice simple pub for the locals.

20 & 21-01-22 Stayed here on our way to Vic our half way point. accommodation available at the pub. Great food and ice cold drinks. A bit out of town but stop in if ever you are I in the area or going past and support this place! Mark B4BD

The Red Steer was a great place to stop on the way to visit family in Broome. I hear that the Red Steer has been a Wagga Wagga icon for over 50 years and I can see why. The food was absolutely sensational. These were the best ribs I have ever had. Not including the ones I was born with. As soon as they put my meal in front of me I knew I was in for a treat. As I tried the first piece of succulent pig meat I was a happy man. I don’t know what they’re doing but they need to keep doing it. I haven’t had a meal this good in a while. Dirk enjoyed a pint and a punt but he lost about 6 bitcoin on the greyhounds. The service was also top notch, friendly and efficient, happy to have a bit of a chat too. I would recommend the Red Steer to anyone travelling around the area, this kind of place is not that common anymore sadly. These great establishments I grew up around are disappearing to be replaced by cookie cutter millennial “eateries” and “gastro cafe’s” like anyone knows what that is. Anyway, go to the Red Steer, you won’t regret it!

All is good here, very economical Hotel - motel. I stayed several times & the rooms have always been spotless and clean ..even though original 1970s decor makes it unique. The TV's need upgrading however to receive all the channels only compliant

Well priced, quiet, good food and located not about 10 mins from central Wagga. Rooms were clean, sheets were fresh and the check in was not fussy at all

The rooms are pretty dated but hey, aircon works, shower is fine and beds are comfy. Fly screen in the bathroom needs fixing up and some fresh carpet and a facelift is absolutely necessary. Now the pub feed and service, fantastic. Great value for money. Great quality food cooked the way you request at great prices. Only other small negative, open up the reception, signing in at the bar at 3pm on a Thursday arvo doesn't leave the best first impression. Good times all round though, will be back

This review is no joke! Wow, wow, wow! Fantastic! As I steered my way toward this little ripper motel, I was readily excited to have food a beverage and food nights sleep! Greeted by excellent customer service, the motel itself is well above average for the price! The pub food is excellent (highly recommend the beef cheeks) and beers are the cheapest in Wagga! Can’t go wrong! Give it a red hot go! P.s Thank you for the jump start!

The motel room was exactly what was needed after a long day driving, it 2 comfortable beds, a hot shower, TV and coffee making facilities. The meal in the hotel restaurant was traditional Australian pub food, a meal you can barely finish because of its size for only $15, absolutely delicious, well presented, what more could you ask for. Well recommend. I would certainly stay there again if I was in the area.

We used to go there as kids with our parents, this is where my husband asked my father for his ok to marry me. Now back to where I lived started is great. You pick your meat, you cook it how you like it, amazing salads or veges or order tea and have someone cook it for you, the choice is yours. Barbara and Shane are so welcoming and then catch the pub bus home. We were there last night with my sister and her husband and had a great time talking about the days we went then along time ago, we will definitely be back and bringing more people with us. Thanks guys 😁🍻

We needed somewhere to sleep on our drive trip from Sydney to Melbourne and this was a good middle point. They allow you to check-in really late which was great. Had everything you would expect for a basic motel. Although the bed was a bit too soft.

Fantastic. We stayed for the night on our way through Wagga Wagga. Room was clean and comfortable. The bar had a special of rump and beer for $12 😍. A schooner with a good steak, chips, salad and gravy for $12. Unbelievable value for money, great service and a nice surrounding 👍

We held a 75th Birthday for my Mum last Saturday night. Eden & her staff were simply amazing....Brett & Muz in the kitchen were sending out food for about 80 guests like machines. The food was delicious as were the platters, cob loaves & salads. The wait staff & Bar Staff, never faltered, everyone was seved quickly & with a smile. The rooms were very handy, being on premises for those of us who had to travel, & the Courtesy Bus was just as handy for the locals who wanted to celebrate. To Deb & Family, thanks for all your help as well.....you should be extremely proud of Eden, she had everything under control & kept me posted every step of the way. We will definitely be back !!!!

My main issue was that the water was very affected by others using showers. I had a shower that suddenly was burning me (no tempering valve) then I was frozen the next minute. So glad my child was not in the shower !!!
