Bed was comfortable, and they had power strips attached to each one, which was convenient.
Fairly central location, quiet street, a few blocks to most public transportation.
Seems like there aren’t enough toilets and showers for each floor, but I went to bed at 9:00 pm, and up at 5:30 am, so I never saw them during rush times.
Z. W.I had a great experience here. Although I'm sure other rooms preferred to party, my roommates were quiet and all in bed by 10:30, ideal for a traveler like me that likes to get up early! The room had a good curtain, too, guaranteeing a good night's sleep. The hostel was located an easy walk from the museums, gardens, and opera house and was easily accessible from the airport (<15 minute walk from the train). The staff was friendly and the showers looked really new, there were even bath mats, pretty surprising for a hostel! It was a real plus that they offer a free breakfast with OJ, instant coffee, tea, cereal, bread, butter, etc to start off the day.
A. H.Nice hostel lovely manager. Rooms are not too crowded so pretty calm. Only problem coming from the travellers who clearly have never used a sponge in their lives. Crazy to see the kitchen sometimes and no one to just unblock a sink after doing a mess..

V. T.Alex at reception is super helpful and very nice. The hostel is really clean and within walking distance to all tourist stuff. The only downside is that the WiFi is pretty slow and room sometimes get hot. Other than that I would really recommend.

L. L.The Sydney Star Backpackers is a very nice hostel. The staff and roommates are very friendly and it creates a nice atmosphere. The hostel is not as loud like other hostels. It also has a nice location near the Royal Botarnik Garden. I particularly liked the rooftop and the showers, which are very clean. In addition, there is a modest but delicious breakfast.
K. M.Rooms are clean but pretty small! Good storage. The walls and doors are very thin so you hear everything all the time! A good few ppl are here long term so it's not a huge part atmosphere, but everyone is really friendly and easy to talk to! Awesome location
K. L.Good prices. This hostel is not in the city center, but is a few blocks from the King's cross station. Staff was very friendly and helpful. My last point--which is not a reflection on the hostel, but rather the guests--is a big turn off: the kitchen dishes were very dirty and unkempt. Pretty gross. The hostel is over all a bit dirty.
T. M.Definitely recommended for someone on a budget. All in all a good hotel in a good location with great transport connections. The staff is really really friendly and helpful. We upgraded to the newly renovated rooms. There were signs of re-painting and the kitchen and dining areas were very clean.
A. H.Room was fine, and manager was good; place has some potential. But atm we wouldn't recommend. Showers upstairs did not work (and windows often left open) (to be fair they did admit this on check in), but it was also quite noisy, despite the curfew. The communal areas were nice though
T. M.I really enjoyed my stay at this hostel. Rooftop is very nice to just relax. Very nice staff for helping. Its location is perfect for those who want to explore the CBD and hit the bars and restaurants of Kings cross and Darlinghurst. Very good value for the amount paid.

T. M.Great Location at sydney city which near to King Cross station for a few minute. We didn't hear any noise from our room. The bathroom is an amazing feature of the room. A team of professional staff are ready to offer their expertise. The property looked to be well taken care of.
e. y.The location of the hostel is not that good far from the good locations. At first it seems a backpackers hostel as it's called but you get used to it.
There is no air conditioning in the room and it's very hot as you sweat doing nothing.
The kitchen is fine also as the toilet but the shower is not that clean
I would say it's for backpackers who just need to sleep somewhere.

T. M.We were really happy with our stay at Sydney Star Backpackers. The hostel is located in close to Kings Cross station and an easy walk through the Domain to the city. Our room didnt come with a breakfast option but there were jams and cornflakes available during the set time.
J. C.Not too bad. It's relatively cheap, but the rooms don't have air-con. Friendly approachable staff and there's a TV and upstairs area. Free breakfast as well.

T. M.As someone who has backpacked around the whole world to find this standard at home was so disappointing. The wo*** who checked me out was less than pleasant. All the celing was covered in mold and from the window it just dropped water constantly. Location very good for getting to the city.

허.I stayed 3days, so small(than above photoes) and bit old, no good drain, but clean(never saw cockroach) and cheap!! that offsets demerits.
