X. O.This place is amazing, the people's vibe here is incredible. The no-alcohol policy makes the hostel a chill and quiet place where you can sleep in peace or have a good chat with someone without been disturb by a drunk mate or loud sounds. The Daily meditation is a huge plus, it's a great experience to meditate with people around it helped me a lot. Location is gold, just in the heart of Kings Cross, 2 min walking from Train Station and supermarkets, whatever you gonna eat, just 5 min walk from the hostel. Oh do you like dogs and cats? There are two adorable cats (ginger and micmic) and a huge lovely dog call Bella, I took Bella for a walk a few times and it was awesome!
N. G.The room was really clean and spacious and had lots of natural light. The hostel feels like a big house and I received a very warm welcome. Bella and shadow are really friendly dogs and always stay downstairs. The kitchen and bathrooms were really clean and the social areas were comfy and clean. Also in a great central location and really close to the station. Also have complimentary food and meditation!
F. P.Very nice small hostel! There's not too many rooms, so it just feels like a big family house. Rooms are more than decent for the price, it's being cleaned all the time and it's pretty comfy.
Location is good as well, nice area with a lot of restaurants, bars and shops, at walkable distance from the center.
Great staff, Sophie, Ali and Nic have been a great company, helpful and kind! Always keen for a chat.
I would just wish you not to have to deal with Joe. He's just been miserable the whole time we stayed there, accusing us to leave dirty dishes (when there's cameras to check who's to blame) and moaning at us for giving our sheets back folded and bringing back the blankets for the check out. We thought we were being helpful, seems like he didn't like it.

W.Great hostel! super friendly staff, free continental breakfast, big lockers and spacious rooms. 2 minute walk from kings cross station, I was warned this neighborhood was sketchy but I don't find that to be true. Kitchen is good, with non-stick pans so you can actually cook! (Rare for Australian hostels) Bonus our room (33) has a stunning view of the city!

C. H.Stayed here for a few nights while traveling solo. Great location near Kings Cross station so I was able to get all around the city very easily. Didn't seem to be a super social place when I stayed. Everyone kind of sticks to themselves (which could be wonderful or not so much depending on what you're looking for). It's a hostel so you get what you pay for - safe, quiet, reasonably clean place to sleep - but a little dated so don't expect luxury, and you'll be satisfied. I stayed in a private and can't say enough good things about the space - very quiet; A/C; beautiful city views; double bed; coffee, tea and mini fridge in the room; sink in the room and shared bathroom right next door. The room itself was tidy, but overall cleanliness in the bathrooms and common areas could have been better. My only real complaint is the WiFi. It was on the slow side, and it was annoying because you have to access it by checking into Asylum on Facebook. I can't rave about this place, but I can say I'd stay here again. Great budget travel option!
N.Awesome place to stay for a few days, the staff are super nice, accomodating and gave me a free upgrade to a 4 dorm room. Plus they have a dog! The rooms are a bit rough on the edges although all the essentials are there and if you’re not too fussy it’s definitely not a deal breaker. They are also slowly renovating so hopefully that won’t be an issue in the future. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

This is a hostel with a relatively low price. Don't expect too much on hygiene. The bed is quite dirty. We felt itchy while we were sleeping at night. So we insisted to change the pillowcases and blankest in our my room. Otherwise, you better wash and dry them before using.

M.Decent hostel, stayed there for over a month. Free unlimited parking in the hostel's street, hostel doesn't have its own parking. No indoor eating/meeting room. Just the TV room and outdoor area. Free, but annoyingly slow WiFi. Staff is okay, they try to help you as good as they can but don't expect too much. $3 each for washing and drying. Free computer access (1 Ubuntu computer) and Netflix. Lots of drinking going on, but still silent at night. The manager throws out people who can't behave, which is good. People are nice but I wished they were also doing other things than just drinking. Hostel staff doesn't do anything to get people into different activities. Rooms are tidy and bathrooms (6 private ones) are cleaned daily. Kitchen is very small and gets crowded quickly. Rooms have their own refrigerators, although they might be too small for some. They also lack air-conditioning, so rooms will get very warm from spring on. All in all this hostel is a bit pricy for what you get, but hey - you're in Sydney right?
T. L.Great hostel, cool atmosphere and really nice people and staff. Common areas inside and outside are very sociable. Not the cleanest place in the world, feels like a student house sometimes.

Z. B.Somebody repainted the room whilst we were there which wasn't a massive issue but did confuse us slightly when we arrived. Very high deposit amount ($50), but price overall not too bad. I got I'll whilst staying there and the lady at the desk was super helpful. Breakfast also included.

S. F.After 1 month I think it's a great hostel, good at all levels, for save money, good vibes, great meetings, nice staff and no hassle... the black point would be the kitchen which is a bit small at times but that doesn't take away from the quality of the place.

S. J.Staff, 10/10. Location. 10/10, So i'll explain it to you, 1 Stop on the train, Which is a short One Minute walk away. Martin Place, On one side of the tracks, Or Bondi Beach on the other. Everything in sydney Including the opera house, The darling Harbour bridge, All Ten Minutes walk away. The food is amazing around there, Plenty of great little spots for a quick eat. And the people of Kings Cross, Are F###### Amazing. They are hip, They are friendly, But most of all. Sit down, Grab a drink and watch this place explode into the most entertaining prescinct the world has to offer. And Asylum, Clean, Tidy, Great Selection of young and old, It ain't backpacking if you bring a suitcase. Haha. Let's get rid of these lockout laws. Well done Nick, Ray, Joe and the team there for a great stay, Also in cairns aswell. The Bass.

The location is very good, near the subway station, there are supermarkets, bars, restaurants, and the city center attractions are about 20 minutes downhill.
Accommodation quality (double room)
The public bathroom is cleaned every day, it is clean, but if the inside rack can be updated, simple maintenance will be better.
The carpet in the room is very dirty and has a strong smell. It must be air-conditioned.
Toasted jam is provided every morning. The staff is very kind and friendly. The previous guest reviews will mention the noisy problem at night, because the old house still depends on the level of the guests. I stayed for three nights. European and American friends went to the bar in the evening. , not in the saloon, so it’s still quiet
Short-term tourists are very suitable to save money to find a place to sleep. This is very suitable, overall CP quality is good

住宿品質(雙人房)
公共浴室每天清潔，算是乾淨，但裡頭置物架若能更新，簡單維修會更好。
房間空間地毯算是非常髒，也有很濃的怪味道，必須開空調才會好些
每日早上提供吐司果醬，員工非常親切友善，看以前住客評價會提到晚上很吵的問題，因為老房子還是要靠住客水準，我連住三晚，歐美朋友晚上都到酒吧去，沒有在交誼廳活動，因此還算安靜
短期旅遊客很適合想省錢找個能睡的地方即可這邊很適合，整體來說CP質算不錯

Das Hostel ist recht sauber, die Betten sind für den geringen Preis sehr bequem und das Personal ist wahnsinnig sympathisch und hilfsbereit. 5/5, falls ich mal wieder in Sydney bin, werde ich wieder kommen
+ Es gibt zwei Hostel Hunde, mit senen man knuddeln und Gassi Gehen darf
T. M.滿老舊的青年旅社, 我們住雙人房, 窗外景點可以看到歌劇院,地點在市中心~房內地毯很髒,浴室滿多地方需要稍加簡單整修, 如若整棟內部較老舊骯髒的部分做個重新上漆, 會好很多, 主要是地毯太髒了,不開冷氣就會散發一股臭味
