Messina Brisbane, is the best Messina I've been too. I'm honestly not a huge fan of the Melbourne ones as there are much better options in Melbourne. However the Brisbane Messina hits all the right flavours. The space is large, beautiful and an experience. The staff are quick, attentive and multi task taking orders and tasting so well. The flavours here are amazing with a wide selection and rotating specials to keep it fresh and you coming back Highly recommended Messina Brisbane for a great ice cream experience

I’m not sure did it has the full range of flavours (perhaps it is just the way the freezers are laid out) however there are still an extraordinary amount to choose from. Gelato Messina is one of those places I'd love to marinate in. The scents, the flavours... actually I guess it would be sticky and uncomfortable before long. Anyway. The most difficult aspect of visiting is choosing a single best option from so many delicious flavours. One of a few places where I don't have a standard order, because they impress in a different way every time. It always feels like it's been too long since my last visit, even if that visit was yesterday.

We love gelato and been to a lot of different places. This place is our favourite. They have heaps of flavours and my favourites are Pistachio Praline and Macadamia Crunch. It comes with a lot of nuts for that extra crunch. All their ice creams are delicious and packed with flavour. I must say this is the best ice cream place that I've ever been in Brisbane. This place is always packed but the line always moves faster. The ambience is really great. A must visit place for ice cream.

This place gets really busy on Saturday night, but don't get put off by the queue. It moves really fast and you're in enjoying some of the finest ice-cream in Brisbane. If you're taking your kids there you need to get your scoops in cups because the ice-cream is soft by nature. Even an ice-cream Hoover like me had trouble finishing my single scoop before it started to drip. That is unheard of! If you reckon you can eat faster than me then you'll find the cones to be delicious and crisp. Dolce de Leche is a great place to start and you can explore other flavours from there.

Messina has consistently been my favourite ice cream shop of all time! The weekly special flavors are always so fun and the classics just keep giving. The textures of the ice creams are so perfect and they’re also super generous with the chunks of nuts/cakes/brownies/caramel. My go to flavors are lychee coconut and also the pear and rhubarb. It’s always pretty busy but the line moves quickly and it is so worth the wait. Using the Messina app is easy and you get fun bonuses with the points you accrue.

HOLY SMOKES. How good are the flavours of Gelato Messina?? Besides the extensive selection of gelato flavour staples, they offer new specials every week that are all incredible. Items like the Fat Elvis which is a combination of a a banoffee type gelato with deep friend brioche. We look forward to coming here at least once a week and have never ever been disappointed by the service or the gelato. Our favourites are the Salty Caramel Coffee, Salted Coconut with Mango Salsa, Apple Pie, Pear and Rhubarb. There are alway so many people but the staff magically move everyone along so quickly and efficiently. Oh, and is it me or do the staff all look like Italian Models?? The serving sizes are generous, the ice-cream consistency beautifully firm and cold. The flavours are absolutely mind blowing. It taste so fresh and authentic! The cones are passable but you really won't care given how wonderful the main act is! I love that they have seating available and everyone loves lounging around to enjoy their gelato while eyeing the selection for seconds. The decor of the place is akin to a fancy night-club. So modern, contemporary and cool. They offer an exquisite selection of gelato cakes that are the stuff of Master Chef. The pricing for the cakes are pricey but if I wanted something really special and artisan, this is where I would go. I love that there is a free self-service water dispenser considerably provided. This is our absolute favourite gelato place in Brisbane and I highly recommend it. You won't be disappointed!

Hands down the best Gelato/Ice-cream I've ever had! The staff were excellent, super sweet and friendly, the only thing better than the staff was the Gelato! The apple pie was truly amazing, the fresh mint was unbelievable. Price wasn't too bad either, you'll pay the same for a Baskin and Robbins mass produced ice cream with a fraction of the flavour. TL;DR - Always a great place to start the afternoon or end the night. My experience - I’ve frequented here more times than I can count. They have weekly flavours so there’s always something new each visit (tho it’s a little sad when you fall in love with a weekly flavour and you know you’ll never see it again). The ambiance is like a club - with the pumping music, dark lights, and often including the line up outside. Sorbet and ice cream is so delicious. And there’s different quantities to grab everything in. Staff is friendly And the shop also accepts liven payments which is pretty useful. A great dessert spot all around - even turned some of my non-ice cream eating friends into sweet tooth fiends.

Always delicious. My pick is traditional boysenberry, but my family also recommends the tiramisu, chocolate sorbet and raspberry sorbet. Informative short videos on the screens inside that go into the produce selection and gelato development process. The process videos of their gelato cakes are also quite entertaining. This place blew my mind, it is better than any other ice cream place I have ever been to here in Australia or overseas. There are so many flavours and I bet you will have a hard choice picking just one or two. The ice cream is so smooth and punched full of flavour. There were lines out the door on our Saturday evening visit so expect to wait during peak times. There is a menu board behind the cabinets so check there for the weekly specials. They also have vegan options. Yes it is pricey but definitely worth the treat!

There is a wide variety of flavours and the quality of the gelato is good. The store is always crowded (esp in the evening). However, there are many people in front asking to sample different flavours and taking a long time to decide what to order, and these people are holding up other customers at the back. (These people also block the view of the available flavours in the gelato display.) It was annoying when I had already made up my mind but the people in front of me were taking their own sweet time to sample multiple favours and decide what to order, and the poor staffs were spending more time scooping samples than actually selling gelato.

Incredible! Best gelato flavour selection I have seen since Italy, the staff did not hesitate to offer taste tests. Price is amazing for the scoop size. Service was flawless, so happy and friendly. The best way to describe this place is as a gourmet gelato dessert store. They have very unique flavour combinations which are well thought out and prepared. One of my favourite flavours is the Pistachio Pralines and I do recommend it! They have 5 special flavours which keep changing and some of these special flavours have unsual combinations which makes every visit to the store interesting. The serving sizes are generous and prices are reasonable. If you go as a group, I would recommend getting the Misto which is a five small scoop servings of any flavours of your choice, this way you can get to experience multiple of their flavours.

There is no better ice cream shop in all of Australia! The small company uses all natural ingredients and even have their own farm of cows for the milk. The flavours are incredible and always changing. Once you try their ice creams and sorbets. You will be hooked. We walked 7 kms to have one! Now take this review with a pinch of salt as I can only comment on the chocolate flavour (I am a chocolate connoisseur of sorts 😤). The chocolate flavour itself is not the best it could be realistically, it's somewhat heavy on notes of honey more so than that deep cocoa taste that we all know and love lol! That being said, the texture of the gelato simply cannot be faulted. Hands down the best texture I have experienced; the mouth feel can only be described as exquisite. Well done Messina. It's also worth noting that my Dad was not able to secure a free 'Gorgeous Dave' despite being called Dave himself. Fellow Daves need not bother asking.

Choose your flavours wisely. If you like simple, well made gelato there are some good offerings; perhaps not the best in Brisbane, but still pretty good! A lot of the flavours are over the top with lots of mix-ins. If you are in the mood they are good. But usually the sickly sweet overload counters any interesting flavour there might be. Stick to the simple flavours in my opinion. The cakes are really fun and great for a rare occasion (they are priced for a rare occasion too $$$)

Been a big Messina fan since trying it the first time in Fitzroy in Melbourne many moons ago. Their specials can be some of the best, but for more regular flavours my favourites are Chocolate Fondant, Nicky Glasses (Salted Caramel with Coffee) or Bounty. There are places to sit both inside and outside. Staff are pleasant and helpful even in there face of 15 people deep “queues” too the counter (it operates like a bar without a true queue). Delicious ice cream and they always seem to evolve which is great! We always buy bulk. We bought a 1.5kg tub for $30 this time. But I must comment about the lack of staff they have. They only had one staff at the front to serve at least 20 customers lining up. I personally don’t think it’s good service to make customers wait that long for ice cream. From the sales you generate, I’m sure you could afford to put on an extra staff at the front?!

I grew up near the first Messina and now it's an icon compared to its roots. The quality has deteriorated since they upscaled and the price has gone up to with the brand recognition. They have over 30 ice creams it's ridiculous. There are to many people at night as well if you go with a date or with a friend you feel like your fighting customers to order ice cream. This isn't like the Sydney store that I ate at when I was young. It's funky and feels more like a bar than an ice cream place. I'm not to sure how to feel about the store. I think they have to many customers, and to many flavours which increases wait times and the experience is pretty bad up until you get the product. If you get one that is disappointing it can be a let down. Because at messina you go in with expectations high. I had some of the fudge variations like banana split and chocolate double fudge which was very rich and similar to Ben and Jerrys type of ice cream in style and flavour. Fruit flavours are the ones that tend to be my preference like fig, vanilla or lychee. It just needs to reduce it's menu to the best product and I think it'd be great. Tl:dr weird store hours, busy on weekends, good product, lacks service.

Meh. It seems to be very popular so clearly it is for a reason, however I was underwhelmed by the dank atmosphere, bad lighting, doof doof soundtrack and overcomplicated gelato flavours. I didn't enjoy the flavours I chose, however I thought it was neat that they asked you if you have tried a certain flavour and give you a taste before you commit to an entire scoop. The other people I was with really enjoyed the chocolatey flavours they had, whereas I went with the lemon sorbet and the apple pie. The gelato at this store is chunky with lots of added bits and pieces to it, which I wasn't expecting, but again some people may like. I personally prefer a smooth gelato. The bottom line - not your average gelateria, could be a winner if you are looking for something different.
