I found the price, portion sizes and options to be very generous. I got coconut sorbet, which I wouldn’t usually find at a gelato place and along with the dark chocolate sorbet, it was delicious from my perspective.

We’re an ice-cream household and I’ve been beyond excited about Boca Gelato opening after I read in Broadsheet that ex Coda/Tonka chef @adamdsylvachef would be getting into artisanal ice cream/gelato! Located in Ivanhoe so if you’re within 5km it is a MUST TRY! Extra points to the Jess Lemon collab - Fior de latte gelato with caramelised corn flakes and honey caramel spheres tastes like childhood cereal and dreams! 🥰☁️✨ Really excited to see what else they come out with! #melbournedesserts #melbournelockdown

Delighted to have a high quality gelato store so close to where we live. The lemon sorbet was particularly delicious with a strong lemony flavour. Looking forward to trying some of the other flavours on offer.

I've been here at least a dozen times, sometimes with the four-year-old a couple all the ice creams are really well made as it doesn't melt too fast but still has a nice texture. I also love that they have two or three special flavours on most of the time

This place was totally out of my way, but I’d drive anyway for fantastic ice cream. Service was super friendly and attentive, staff seemed really happy to be there, even if it was a cold Saturday night, the place was inviting. They have some unique flavours, especially their weekly specials, such as the basque cheesecake. The standout of the visit was the peanut butter ice cream, creamy with heaps of flavour, but doesn’t taste like chunks of peanut butter. The vanilla seemed to be made from Tahitian beans, had some floral bites, a bit different to what you usually see (embarrassing if I totally got this wrong). Also, they have a loyalty card!!!

Have been visiting this ice cream few times since it opened. Bacio was so far our favourite, tried other flavours, pistachio, salted caramel, chocolate were average, coconut and coffee were not so good. I wanted to love this shop but obviously there's lots of space to improve. Staffs scooping ice cream to the takeaway container were too messy and slow, by the time they completed our takeaway the ice cream already started to melt, even they did clean up the container but it is guaranteed that when it's handed to my hand the ice cream dripped from the side, everytime. The other thing annoyed me is when the staff scooping, their hand touched in the ice cream, it happen everytime, maybe wear gloves if they couldn't handle it? It's really disgusting to see it happens. The container size looks smaller than other ice cream shops, also it wasn't filled up full, when we request three different flavours, the proportion is not quite equally divided to three, those things needed to be improved better. So far, in the area, this is one of the ice cream shop we would still go regularly, Minot is still the best, gelato Papa and ice cream social were fine, this one is the last choice of those above, I hope things can be improved and we would keep coming more often.

Really delicious gelato. Had thr bacio and pistachio flavour. Really loved the bacio, very chocolaty and had crunch nuts in it... I love it. Will go back try their other flavour.

A nice place to find a genuine hit for your sweet tooth addiction. Great flavour combinations and delicious gelato with the right amount of sweet hit. It's our favourite local spot for a sweet fix. Friendly staff and clean atmosphere.

Cool new shop. I had the coffee and chocolate on waffle cone which was pretty good without being amazing. You don't get to see the ice cream flavours like other places. Last visit was pretty average nothing special.

I love walking in to a gelateria and seeing pozzetti because you know you're going to be in for a good time. Had the specials, Basque cheesecake and pumpkin pie which were mind-blowingly creamy. The cheesecake was mellow and subtle until finding a whole chunk, and the pumpkin was spiced incredibly.

Tried the chocolate and salted caramel gelato tubs purchased from Toscanos in Kew. Gelato was great, very nice natural flavours and most importantly didn't go rock hard in the freezer. The chocolate was probably the crowd favourite but salted caramel was also lovely and buttery. Both were not too sweet which was good. We also grabbed a choc chip cookie which was yum. Will have to visit the shop when lockdown lifts!

Beautiful décor, lovely staff. Really well priced take-home tubs. I tried the dark chocolate and coconut which were both vegan flavours, they were absolutely amazing. Beautiful flavour and texture. Cannot wait to try more!

I've tried icecream from all over the world, including Italy. My favourite ice cream remains pidapippo in the city, but this is a really good lockdown/local alternative. 5.50 for a cone seems fine, especially with fancy wafer on top. The servers were really nice and friendly, and one of them was filling the takeaway container right to the top. Would definitely come back to try more flavours other than hibiscus. It's more expensive on their menulog page than in store.

The ice cream is nice but the servings are really small and stingy. They scrape the ice cream off so that the ice cream doesn't reach higher than the level of the cup and the scoops in the cone look ungenerous. You pay Messina prices for very unmessina like servings. Not impressed.

Been a few times and the staff were super friendly and helpful so not sure why there have been any bad reviews on staff? The icecream itself is AMAZING - Do yourself a favour and get the duche de leche if they have it. Best icecream in Melb in my opinion, will return!

Raspberry ice cream in the cone, never had anything like it, an explosion burst in my mouth, not the sort of sweet I'd pick, it was recommended by my friend, but wacko "you need to have one" Who would have thought, so much could go into an ice cream 👍

Excellent addition to the neighbourhood - I tried the coconut sorbet and peanut butter ice cream which were both excellent. Really enjoyed the decor and friendly service too - will be back!
