Loved it. Was disappointed that we couldn’t sample due to Covid. But was happy with our flavour choices anyway. Really creamy and rich. Would recommend.

This place is a must visit even if you do not have a sweet tooth! The ice creams are amazing - not just for their flavour and taste but also for their texture and consistency. The salted caramel had an amazing, almost chewy consistency and the Tiramisu was probably the best I've had. The award winning chocolate was amazingly decadent but not overbearing. Staff are wonderfully patient - they encouraged me to taste a number of flavours before ordering and the experience never felt rushed. Well worth a stopover - even if you're driving through Apollo Bay.

Yep I hate to say it but it is worth the hype. Delicious ice-cream with lots of flavours - even Vegemite. Grab a cone and head to the beach. $9 for two scoops but that seems to be the rate for the region.

Ahhh… I love their ice cream! Everyone should try the Vegemite ice cream. It is like salted caramel ice cream, but with much more strong flavours.

Ok, this ice cream shop in Apollo bay may seem really good with all of its awards and some of the ice-creams are. but some aren’t so good, the rocky road flavour was hard to eat and honestly quite bad, I was disappointed about there only being marshmallows in the ice cream and that being all. I cant believe I waited 30 minutes in line for that. The passion fruit flavour was just above mid and wasn’t it for me. 6/10

Great gem located in the heart of apollo bay. They have so many Flavors to choose from and did I mention they are a award winning ice cream shop. The service was fast and friendly. I had to get the licorice as this flavour had won a award. It was a pleasant surprise the flavours were outstanding, never thought licorice flavour would be this good. My husband had the mango which was also yummy.

Our GoWest tour guide stopped us here along the way for toilet break and he recommended the ice cream here - it has won alot of awards & it popular amongst the locals. Inside the shop, the walls are stacked with all their awards winning certs. Quite a different sight to see from usual ice cream shops. Recommend A MUST order is the AWARD WINNING CHOCOLATE!!! Really rich premium chocolatey taste! It wasnt the overly rich kind that u get bored of the taste after a few mouthful. Instead I kept eating until it's finished before I knew it! Also it's not the kind of ice cream that leaves a weird after taste in your mouth (if u know what I mean)

Recommended by a local to try some specialty ice cream here and had a great time enjoying gelatos. Tasted fresh and offered much variety . Delicious gelato and ice cream varieties. Visited and had a cup of goodness on the way to Port Campbell for a night’s stay. Thank goodness for free samples by the very friendly staff. Had to try the Vegemite Gelato. Love it! ❤️ Does taste a little like salted caramel, but leaves your tastebuds with a lingering hint of Vegemite. Great. Also had a taste of the more traditional flavours such as dark chocolate, cookies & cream, vanilla and honeycomb. All creamy and rich with flavour. Located across the park by the ocean with plenty of street parking!

The ice cream here is delicious!! I am the biggest Ice- cream lover and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I gave it 3 stars because of the 2 unenthusiastic, unfriendly staff that served us (Thursday 8/4). Wow! I was actually gobsmacked at their lack of customer service from both girls. These 2 girls had a personality like a block of cheese. Not once smiled at us. My mum was served by 1 girl and the other girl served me, my mum let her know I am paying for the ice creams and I did clearly say "this one's on me mum". Then as mine was still being scooped, mum was standing next to me eating hers the girl said quite stern and rudely to mum "you have to pay for that now". I was really taken back by her attitude towards my mum. Not a good look at all for the business that relies on tourism. Unfortunately I will definitely not return because of the staff. Customer service certainly isn't a concern here.

Rating 3.5. Dooley's is a small ice creamery in the main strip of Apollo Bay. Service was friendly and you are welcome to taste test. We ended up with the award winning chocolate, malted hazelnut, chestnut and coffee flavours. All flavours were nice but didn't find them exceptional or award winning compared to Melbourne. Our chocolate was also bit powdery. So if you have a hankering for ice cream on the coast and are staying nearby, pop in but I wouldn't be making the trip just for it. At $5.5 for 1 scoop or $8.5 for 2 scoops, you get better value if sharing 2 scoops between 2. It does not have any seating inside the store, but you can take your ice cream to the benches on the street or foreshore.

When I came here during the holiday season on a hot day, the place was packed and the line went straight out to the door. There was a wide variety of ice creams of varying flavours. I tried chocolate, tiramisu and salted caramel. The chocolate was decadent, creamy and well... chocolatey, the tiramisu had a nice coffee flavour and the salted caramel was engraved with lines sweet caramel, like some world map and that distinct subtle undertone of salt. With all these complicated and complex flavours there is no doubt in my mind that this icecream is handmade and award winning.

Best ice cream I've ever had. I've been coming to this store since I was born with my family and the quality of the ice cream has never failed to impress. Not to mention the hundreds of awards Dooley's ice cream has received, the store is a local tourist attraction and for good reason. They are also known for making some unconventional flavours like chilli chocolate and even Vegemite! Highly recommend a visit, and before you settle on a flavour, ask for a free taste of one of the more 'adventurous' flavours.

We've been going to Apollo Bay for at least 16 years during our summer holidays and Dooleys ice cream gets a visit from us every day sometimes twice a day. These guys have been making some of the best ice creams in Victoria for many many years. If you go to Apollo Bay for a visit or anywhere in that region Dooleys ice cream is a must on your list of places to visit. They are always adding new flavours to their range and they never disappoint.

Great ice cream. Had the award winning vanilla and chocolate. Business hours wasn't displayed though, and checking the Trip Advisor and Facebook gives me mixed results. Trip Advisor said 11am-9pm everyday, but when I checked FB, it says only until 5pm on Sunday. FB said opens at 10:30am but when we arrived we had to wait until 11am to be opened. A display of the operating hours would be very helpful, especially to travellers who have to plan their trip accordingly.

Definitely the best ice cream place. It is suitable for people with allergies and intolerances (gluten, dairy, egg and nut free options are offered). Even gluten free cones are for 1$ extra available.
