My first time to purchase chocolates at Koko black as its for gift. But it was a unpleasant experience for the staff health and hygiene for food handlers standard. I bought 25 pieces gift box today and selected my owned chocolates pieces, it was a well service. However, the shop assistant wearing gloves on one hand to touch all sorts of things, another hand (no glove) use her finger to deep touch chocolate paper inside. I did not see she has sanitised the hand before to do so. It’s not a good idea to reach to food handling standards. I don’t think I will visit the shop again…

Koko Black does the best Hot Chocolate in Melbourne - and you can’t change my mind. Since opening their flagship store at the iconic Royal Arcade in 2003, you can find them popping up all over Australia. Plenty of indulgent, artisan chocolate varieties on offer in store, over 100 to be precise, with all of them naturally handcrafted right here in Melbourne. They make for perfect gift ideas too. Staff are very friendly and professional. Prices are pretty up there at $7-8.50 dependant on size but this is not unusual for places that use real Belgium chocolate. Definitely worth the money and for the sweet tooth’s.

I visited the Town Hall store on 10th Nov around 11.30, not sure of the lovely assistant's name but she was so nice and helpful. I was looking for chocolates to buy for my kids and she suggested the kids advent calendar, which I ended up getting along with the small jar of chocolate stars and also a hot chocolate. Both staff working were friendly and helpful and I love the outdoor van for the hot choc. Will go back next time I'm in the city!

Highly recommend! The quality is worth the price that is quite reasonable for chocolate bouchées that are both so good and so pretty. I didn't find yet a chocolate I didn't like, they are all delicious but some of them are downright divine! The "pure raspberry" and the "caramel mousse" are my current favourites. They have a great variety too, from the classic variations on caramel and gianduja to hazelnut but they also have an absolutely delicious Australian native range. The people there are absolutely lovely and will take the time to give you advice if you need some.

The best hot chocolate I've ever had. It's so creamy and warm, it's to die for. It's not stickly sweet and has a hint of bitterness of the chocolate. A perfect treat for hot chocolate lovers.

I bought just two pralines. My impression was that both staff members there were very friendly and professional. I liked the interior of the shop and I think the selection is pretty good. It's a bit pricey but very much comparable to other places. Out of the two pralines I bought, I found the dark chocolate chili one especially good.

Little bit pricey, but very flavoursome chocolate, and the hot chocolate drinks are very rich. Happy to go back, but just not too often, as it might not be ideal for the wallet or the waistline. But wow - so yummy!

Chocolate need I say too much more!? This is definitely a boutique and more upscale chocolatier and not the place to go if you are trying to be thrifty or frugal. It's up there on the expense scale but you can't argue with the idea that you get what you pay for in this instance because you'll walk out with something pretty special and indulgent. So I went to purchase a gift for my mum for mother's day and as it turns out I am going back to repurchase tomorrow because my partner and I couldn't help ourselves and could smell them from outside the box and we ate the lot!!

This store was pretty clean, they even got best staff here. From asking me whom im gonna give it to and putting it in a nice packaging. They even have free paper bag for your purchase. And do wait for the free taste! It is really delicious! So chocolate lovers come and visit the store 🙂
