Pidapipó Gelateria is located in the very cool laneways in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD. The flavours on the menu look and taste amazing. There is a cinnamon one you have to try. I can’t have too much dairy so it was nice to see a few dairy free sorbet options available as well. The blood orange was delicious. #letsguide

Fabulous gelato and wonderful customer services. We were a group of three coming to the CBD area for a weekend treat. After having lunch, one of our friends recommended this place for us to try out. I bought a 2-scoop scone ice-cream, with 2 flavours: pistachio and vanilla. When the staff got the gelato, she thought it was a bit running so she decided to throw it away and make me a new one. I was surprised by what she did, but was really appreciated for that at the same time, as I respected the fact that she wanted to serve me with the best quality gelato. I really enjoyed that huge scone of gelato, and in fact it was quite cheap comparing to other places for a 2-scoop scone. The only setback was the sweetness. For me personally, it was way too sweet. I expected the pistachio to be less sweet and it would be better to have some pistachio pieces in there. Other than that, the overall experience was great. Highly recommended!

Very crowded place, and a bit stressful to try the different flavors and get your gelato to-go. The flavors certainly did not disappoint though, especially the bacio (chocolate and hazelnut), which is absolutely to die for. Pistachio and salted caramel were pretty good too.

Even if it was barely 8C in the CBD last night, we were pulled into the laneway where Pidapipo is. The queue gave us an indication that it was worth the brain freeze. Oh and yes it was! Hubby went for their Pistachio ice cream whilst I indulged on the Bacio. The Bacio didn't disappoint. It was overflowing with nuts, it was beyond generous. And talking about generous, their scoop size is big (please don't ever change it Pidapipo)! I would come back and have their ice cream even if it's the coldest day on record.

I love their gelati and I tried to go there today, Wednesday around 3pm (during lockdown). Website and google said they were open. The lights were on but door was shut and couldn't see any staff. No signs on the door or window to show their opening hours or whether they are closed temporarily. Ended up going to brunetti around the corner instead.

Extremely delicious gelato served up in a small storefront with limited indoor seating. Staff is extremely friendly although limited to only 1 person when I went there. A small line may form and there may be a small wait. However this freshly made gelato is well worth the short wait. I got the Vanilla and honeycomb flavor and it was the smoothest vanilla I've tasted in my life sprinkled in with a good amount of crispy honeycomb bits. Very inviting space and well lit. Make sure to stop by.

By coincidence we beat the queue and got through quickly. They had a bunch of special flavours on at the time including coffee and sponge, and vanilla and honeycomb, both of which I got (along with the standard banana milk). They were all delicious and tasted strongly of the flavours suggested. Service was great - the staff were happy to help us make a choice and topped the cups up high - sucks if you eat it slowly and it melts everywhere, but there are no complaints here! And Degraves is a beautiful backdrop to delicious gelato.

We have visited this place a couple of times and it is consistently good. Freshly made, they have interesting new flavours and classic ice creams too. You always curious why where long queue outside a shop. It's TOTALLY WORTH for waiting (10 - 15 mins) for such an amazing gelato. We had Watermelon, Pistachio and Chocolate Banana. The serve is very generous that $8.80 for 3 scoops is reasonable but most impressed with their taste. Especially watermleon just taste like eating real fruits, will try other non dairy fruity ones next time. Staff are friendly and keep smiling in such a busy business need to give them thumb up.

You can taste them before you order. The shop is very small. Few seats inside the shop. Always long queue but doesn't wait for long. This place is so overrated in my opinion. I admit that it’s so busy and there is always a long queue most of the time, but it’s not that good. Although I live nearby, when I’m in the mood for gelato I walk to another gelato place which is way way better. Maybe it’s just me but their gelato is too sweet, one scoop would be enough to get you a sugar rush. And it’s texture is not so creamy and soft. One more thing that I didn’t like, is that you don’t actually taste the flavour of your gelato, the Pistachio gelato doesn’t either look like was made naturally from pistachio, and for sure the taste of pistachio is not that strong. Apart from that, the service was okay, but can be improved. Every time I went there, the staff were upset or like they hate their job, maybe because it’s always busy which is totally understood but had to make that point. Now before anyone says that I wasn’t fair in my review, I went there 3 times and tasted 4 of their best flavors according to the reviews and the recommendation of the staff for the top sales. I have been going to so many gelato places in Melbourne and I found a much better gelato than this.

First time here. Ordered vanilla and honeycomb and key lime pie. Very average ice cream. The honeycomb flavour used a honey that was too floral for our taste and there wasn't actually any honeycomb . Key lime pie was better, but not anything memorable. We probably didn't order the right kinds, but instead of returning, I'd rather go to Piccolina a few doors down, where every flavour is reliably superb.

I can’t vouch for all of the flavours but we have collectively tried 5 flavours so far and all have been the best of their kind. A small nook and cranny operation with some of the best ice cream in Melbourne. The ice cream is lighter than a certain other ice cream nearby. It doesn't have the widest range of flavours with only about 8-10 of what one might consider the normal flavours, but there are another 4 to 5 very inventive mixes - try the salted caramel with orange blossom butterscotch with crumb - something you wont find anywhere else. The shop is small and the ergonomics of service and entry/exit are poor - don't let that stop you.

The gelato is absolutely delicious, we had salted caramel, nuttella swirl and bacio which is a combination of chocolate and hazelnut. The ladies are pleasant, have nice smiles and are friendly. If you are in Melbourne do yourself a favour ( FLAVOUR ) and try some as you will not be disappointed. We will definitely return.

I cannot emphasize hard enough how good this gelateria is. Let me put it this way: I don't like ice cream, never fancy it, never a fan but since I discovered it became a must go spot everytime I'm in the city. Wish I could meet the owner just to thank her for creating it!
