Mixed feelings about this place. The hot chocolate with a cute bear or cat marshmallow that floats is really cool. Especially the effect as the marshmallow melts into the hot chocolate. The hot chocolate itself was only ok. Nothing great and be sure to not let the marshmallow fully dissolve into the hot chocolate or it'll become sickly sweet.
The mango pudding was eh, it was not firm enough and the texture wasn't smooth or creamy. Pretty poor mango pudding actually.
Dessert kitchen is a cute dessert place with some cool ideas. There are not many places you can just go get a floating bear or cat marshmallow.

If you want to eat something sweet off the beaten path and something a little more authentic then come and have your dessert here. The staff are friendly but the place is popular so maybe ring ahead. It's open late too so you can let your dinner settle before splurging on something light and delicious.

Beautiful and tasty desserts, comfy place and good price !!
totally recommend this place to get dessert but usually it's packed at night and they'll have a 1 hour limit for each group if they're full.
Do try the grape dessert on the first page and also their Taiwan shaved ice !!
E. K.
This dessert place promotes itself by saying that one of their dessert had won the 2009 dessert championship. We ordered that particular dessert and it is great. The purple popping balls at the top of the dessert is a delight and the mochi ice cream topping is great too. The tofu mango tasted authentic just like the ones you get in Asian countries.

Unique dessert specialty cafe. They serve a massive number of sweet and ice cream options. Either you looking to fruits flavour or a chocolaty flavour you will finds your desire. The waiter mentioned this cafe serve Hong Kong style dessert. We tried the waffles and Oreo ice cream, both taste delicious. The only negative thing is that they not serve coffee.

The dessert Kitchen is definitely one of the classic venue you go to when you crave some Asian desserts. Lovely indoor, friendly service and a very interesting menu. The dessert that we ordered were pretty, but we had better one a from other places serving this style of food. In saying that, we recommend to come and try it out

It's alright I guess. The price is a tad expensive considering they sell humble asian desserts. The tofu desserts are cold but not that cold so it was kind of bland. The grape dessert was better; sweet, fresh, nice textures. But $12 for a small cup is a bit steep.
B. B.
The desserts were amazing. The shaved ice is delicious and the flavor of real strawberries is impressive. This deep chocolate flavor of the the ice cream desserts is wonderful.
d.
For the first time. Was able to get a table. Of the times out in town on a Saturday night this place would have a line out front.
Pretty good Taiwanese deserts had the sundae S6, the Taiwanese ice shaving thingy M9 and their signature desert forgot name. All were really good.
My M9 I still can't figure out how they do the ice shavings sooooo fine! Not too sugary and flavours quite creative.
I.
Good-looking, creative desserts that are not too sweet. Perfect for me; but if your sweet tooth is strong you may not like it as much.
P. M.
The desserts are quite creative, a bi different from the original Hongkong desserts. The presentation and innovation are great. Some desserts taste nice too.
M. L.
amazing!!! i got the headliner Purple in Love and Pomelo Mango sago cream.
Really amazing. The purple in love is a truly unique experience I've never had before. The beads at the top have a texture that's chewy and compliments the entire dish.
I hope this franchise comes to Sydney soon!

Been here twice. Ordered the same dessert. Can’t remember the name, but it was really yummy with read beans, green tea ice cream, rice balls and vanilla pudding. As a Chinese, I must say that Asian desserts are less sweet than western ones, which is really good. BTW, the environment is very clean and tidy and staff very friendly. Will visit again soon~
I. N.
Average dessert place- their gold award was too expensive - I expected more than a bucket of ice (small one even) for a $12 dessert.
They clearly have not improved since my visit 2 years ago (when I got a blob of tear drop cake that was too shameful to be served for customers - too bad I didn't bother taking a picture then since the dish has been removed from the menu, for obvious reason).
Hot choc is also a pass for me. May be I will return one day for their snow ice dish. Surely there must be something that attracts people here, right?
E. D.
Delish! Kinda pricy but the servings are huge. Definitely have to plan to come here as having a huge dinner nearby would probably be too much haha
N.
Awesome place in Chinatown. Red bean waffles, matcha ice-cream, amazing taste.
T. B.
Good place for desert. Has an upstairs seating area as well. Usually crowded in the evening and may have to wait a bit. Cash only.
J. G.
I have eaten so many, I like this dessert, their dessert is not so sweet, it is suitable for our taste.
g. a.
I like it because the dessert are not overly sweet and although a little pricey, the green tea w red beans and mochi sago was really delicious although the mochi was a but too hard
D. S.
Hit & Miss with this place. It is pricy.
The grape dessert was really nice but the mango sago was not good at all. The mango is unripe and very sour with a kind of cream that tasted uncooked. I am surprised they will serve unripe mangoes.
A. w.
Really nice dessert place. Home made ice cream. Papaya milk taste fresh. Worth a try. Their ice cream is the highlight.
T. T.
The deserts are amazing totally worth the price and the setting is nice and welcoming too.
M. M.
Great desserts, decent portion size (bigger than expected, good value!). Have a 1-hour limit of table during weekend (if I'm not wrong on Fridays and Saturdays). Cash only
S. W.
A large selection of Asian (including Japanese and Taiwanese) desserts. The shaved ice looked amazing. I had "winter of love" - the addition of breakfast cereal into the layered desserts was interesting and worked really well!
i.
Really nice and cozy dessert place in the city.
Went with some friends after work and tried a few different things to share.
T. T.
Not a bad joint. Dessert ok but could be better. I ordered the sundae. Was nice but some of tte other desserts were ordinary.
P. T.
Fantastic desserts! The parfait that I had was marvellous. The shop can get crowded and you might have to wait for a bit to get in but it's totally worth it.
N. D.
Staff were very friendly and helpful in explaining what food was what, me and my wife shared a dessert, it was fun and tasted great.
Had a very friendly atmosphere.
S. W.
Ordered matcha but actually it's just a matcha powder on top of the ice cream, but overall is nice. Maybe put English description as well on the printed menu. Anyway, I have Google translate to read the menu described
J. T.
Not bad pretty nice place for a quick dessert. Not too sweet
M. T.
Desserts are great. A lot of variety. Just long queues everytime. Cash only.
S. S.
It was ok, if you want to try something new. Normal place, the desserts were fine, the plating was normal, nothing outstanding
A. A.
Loved the dessert but the hit chocolate was okay
L. G.
Good selection but lack flavors. At least for the green tea flavor items that I have tried. Try Tsujiri if you are here for matcha flavor treats.
Q. W.
Not very sweet, think it may suit to Asian tastes. The dessert was tasted good however the service was not as good as I expected.
B. H.
A very unique and challenging dessert menu, ranging from standard brownies and ice crushes, to jelly noodles and the raindrop cake.
Great theatrics with the polar bear marshmallow.
S. B.
Very crowded, new and have a lot of people queueing, better to spare 15-20 minutes for waiting in the waiting list, but the dessert are highly reccomended.
y. z.
very nice dessert, cold and hot. Reasonable price, quick service,
L. M.
Desserts are not bad. The shaved ice was really tasty and very thinly shaved, unlike many other dessert places. The waffle was slightly dry but the matcha ice cream was fragrant and delicious. Staff are not the friendliest. Ambience was okay.
K. H.
Totally random drop in with the family. What a pleasant surprise! Loads of choices for dessert. The desserts are very Asian and really yummy. We all tried something different and cleaned out our bowls. Would definitely go back again.
R. W.
Very unique. Yummy !! Papaya milk was bland tho
S. M.
Awesome selection of Asian desserts available. Most things are quite reasonably priced however the iced shaving desserts could be cheaper considering its mostly ice. Serving sizes (not including shaved ice and ice cream stacks) are smaller but quite filling anyway. It would also be good to have fresher ingredients used with the fruit pudding desserts. In saying that it's quite a good all round experience, especially if you love out of the ordinary desserts like me.
Y. J.
I always love my visits here. I try something different every time I visit and my favourite dessert has been the strawberry shaved ice. The only issues have been getting the attention from the waitresses because they are so busy and it seems there can be a bit of a wait to get a table. I would say it is worth the wait. Overall I have sweet experiences here.
L. H.
Place is very cute! A lot of wonderful looking things on the menu, unfortunately we went after 11pm (I love that this place is open late) and the first two things I thought to order were sold out.
I ended up ordering Japanese green tea soba and didn't really enjoy it all that much.
I think a bit of help with what to order/suggestions or explaining the menu would go a long way as the in store menu had very little English.
Y.
I went with my friend. She said the waitress rolled her eyes when we were paying the bills. For me, I felt the waiting staff were too busy to be nice. I won't blame them because there might be some behind stories.
The food is good, but the price is way too high. I wouldn't go there again or recommend it. There are plenty of nice places in Melbourne.
M. B.
This is one of the most well planned dessert menus I have come across. There are so many hugely popular Asian desserts from Japanese parfait to Korean ice, even waffles are included. I've been here a half dozen times and had two desserts each time, a fantastic after dinner treat.
W. J.
Quite a large variety to choose from the menu. I had Green Tea Milk, way too sweet. The Mango Sago with Pomelo was delicious. Service is adequate. Need to pay cash. Put away your credit card.
B. M.
The desserts here are awesome! They look great & taste just as good. Deceptively filling! Really nice atmosphere/decor & a great place to sit & hang out. The staff were friendly & curteous when I was there with a large group & were very accommodating.
K. T.
Came here with friends and ordered 3 different desserts. The strawberry snow was extremely delightful to eat as the ice melted in your mouth after each bite and it was full of flavour. The blue ramen was also extremely fun. The favour was both fruity and wonderful. Though, maybe I am picky with matcha, but it was quite bitter(?) for a dessert. But, the sago was nicely cooked and did add some sweetness to it.
S. E.
Interesting choice of desserts but after a few visits the ones that we truly enjoy were the shaved flavoured ice cream. They have the raindrop dessert that went viral but felt overpriced for tasteless gelatine. Usually a very long queue to get in on weekends, probably a big hype being one of few new dessert places in Chinatown - am expecting the craze to die down. Service was expected of Asian eateries - abrupt but efficient
A. L.
Absolutely great desserts. Love this place. Quick service too.
G. S.
Pretty good dessert but costs the same as an actual meal so this is an indulgence. The frozen ice stuff isn't as good as dessert story (which is saying something) but you can't fault them on design. On the taste side of things the special layer cake was amazzzzzinggg but their other stuff is kinda meh.
A. S.
Fun and delicious. Beware the menus we were given were not in English except for the name of the dish and proce (we ended up using their website to find out what the dishes were).
The receipt we were given had mismatched items (I guess the entry name hadnt been updated) but the prices were accurate. Just a minor heart palpatation when we read Tea instead of Hot Chocolate.
E. Y. L. L.
Mediocre. At a Chinese dessert shop don't order anything western.
Jellies were nice though
F. C.
Strawberry sundae is my favourite, yummy soft serve and strawberry pudding!
A. T.
Great desserts but very pricey!
C. H.
The environment is very clean and tidy and the staff are very friendly.
Food, not bad. Wasn't very happy with my dessert though.
The fruit in the mango tofufa looked wayyy past it's due date, brown and mushy.
Passable when there's no better choice.
A. D.
I don't live in Melbourne and have only had takeaway from here once but it was delicious! The signature dessert has that very artificial grape flavour that I love so much I ate two.
K. S.
Love it 😍 😘 even though I destroyed my polar bear 🐻 hot 🍫 chocolate 😭 still tasted great! The 🍰 desserts are so cute and delicious 😋!!! And much much bigger than the pictures!!! Definitely come again if have the chance.
J. L.
Great selection of desserts. Not overly sweet. Packed with flavor and extraordinary options. Good ambiance in a well-lit place. Great for casual intimate settings or hanging out with friends. A must try.
T. M. M.
The deserts were nice and just reminded me about my childhood.
B. Y.
Great place to relax and chill. There are busy periods where visits are limited to 1 hour.
J. L.
As an Asian, the food brings back memories and the interior was clean. However, it was too sweet for me. For will recommend to people who really love sweet dessert.
K. M.
Came across this store randomly walking through China Town. Decided to have one of the sundaes on that day and enjoyed it enough to come back two days later and try the egges and the mango secret dessert. Highly recommend and will be back to try the rest.
J. C.
Fast service. Cash payment preferred. Clean environment. Lovely selection of asian desserts. Toilet facility available. However waitress may ask you to relocate as other customers in groups flood in.
M. S.
Very warm and friendly atmosphere. The desserts were well presented and tasted great. I'm glad we decided to drop in after dinner.
D. L.
Dessert is Pretty, Taste Average...
A. D.
The Dessert was great, However the staff attitude and service needs adjusting. Not a single smile since we stepped into the store. no reply even when we said thank you upon the dessert being brought out. Staff needs to be more friendly.
G. C.
Passable when there's no better choice but not good enough. If you have tried dessert places like Honeymoon Dessert, Auntie Sweet or Hui Lau San in Hong Kong , then you will know what real Asian desserts are like. When it comes to ice cream, Kyo Teahouse in Melbourne will be a top choice. Flavours of the desserts in Dessert Kitchen are too artificial
N. R.
A very special treat when visiting Melbourne. The service was terrific and very attentive. The hot chocolate with a bear marshmallow is something you will tell all your friends about.
L. S.
Fabtastic, unique desserts, fast friendly service
N. D. M.
Even though it was a very busy Friday night, staff made sure they could seat is and we received our dessert very quickly. Everything was beautiful to look at. Would highly recommend.
J. W.
It was ok. Not awesome but alright. Had a lot of options but they are quite similar ice cream on everything.
N. B.
So many choices, great atmosphere. The presentation of the desserts are amazing. Always people queuing. I would recommend, just remember to bring cash.
B. C.
Great desserts and atmosphere no wonder they have a maximum 60min stay rule. Will definitely come back to try the shaved ice and other desserts.
Z. N.
great desserts, gets busy at times
H. K.
Good presentation of the desserts, interesting selection too. More seatings upstairs. So far hasn't been rushed to finish our dessert, hopefully this will continues
j. b.
The deserts here are really good. but they really need to work on their customer service. Kinda felt like they just wanted you in and out and the only time you see them smile is when they are talking among themselves.
J. L.
Not too expensive place to eat dessert! Great ambiance, food taste and design! Just come early to slowly enjoy every bite!
C. k.
Interesting menu. With good variety.
Nice place but a bit worn out our menu looked like it needed a recover. Good for anytime. With family or a date .
T. L.
Delicious but a bit pricey. Surcharge on card payment.
S. L.
food was fun and very creative , But I probably would not go back again .
C. D.
The desserts were all quite good, the late's we got were kind of mediocre but it was a good place over.
A. B.
Limited seating. Restricted timing for customers. Nice dessert. Last time I went it was raining really heavily and water was coming through the front door and windowa. Hope they fixed this problem.
T. C.
No coffee of any sort on the day I visited... otherwise the pearl and mango desserts are quite nice. Can't go without coffee in a dessert shop!
J. N.
Amazing dessert and excellent service, highly recommend if you want to spoil yourself with pure indulgence and bliss!
B. Z.
Very long lines generally at night, be prepared to wait at least 10 minutes.
S. ..
Lovely desserts. My friend and I ordered the mango shaved ice and a cocoa kiss sundae....it was scrumptious.
J. K.
Good sweet Taiwanese things. We had a group of 10 that was over two tables. They made sure to move us together once they could. Sweet service. See what I did there ;D
A. A.
I was very disappointed of the customer service....its so rude they dont say thanks or even smile at all and a lot of them barely can speaks English.....the food wasn't the best but it's not bad either I give it 3 out of 5 and their hot chocolate wasn't even hot....I just hope they can work on their customers service and make their hot chocolate an actual hot chocolate.
T. N.
Fantastic food. Quick service
Y. A.
Pretty funky menu but the actual food is pretty lackluster and a mash up of average ingredients. Was okay but probably wouldn't go again, nothing too special
T. S.
One of my favorite dessert places. Every time I visit the venue I am delight to see new things on the menu.
S. D.
Definitly worth the price, you receive exactly the same dessert as the one on the picture, will come back again!
G. T.
Taiwanese style dessert. Not too pricey and good presentation. It's cash only place, a rarity in these days and age.
T. R.
Really interesting desserts at this Asian inspired dessert place. Shaved ice exotic flavours and creamy ice cream. Delicious.
A. V.
Interesting Asian desserts and super friendly staff
R. R.
A bit pricey for what you get in return. Taste is alright. The desserts are cute though.
D. D.
They make up for the small setup with fast service and absolutely lovely deserts, I've yet to try any dish that leaves me unsatisfied.
M. P.
Nice variety of Asian desserts. Cash only for under $20 transactions. A bit of a downside.
R. C.
Great place, staff very friendly...prices not too bad, seated quickly and the place wasn't crowded when we went. .would go again to try some more unique items
R. E.
delicious sweet treats, good variety

(Translated) The environment is OK, suitable for catch up with friends. Waitress's appearance is also quite high. But the desserts are average. Including the main signature desserts, the taste is not very good.

环境还可以,适合与朋友catch up。Waitress颜值也挺高的。但是甜品一般。包括主打的招牌甜品味道也不怎么样。

(Translated) A favorite dessert shop from Hong Kong to Sydney, Sydney to Melbourne
It is said that this Melbourne store is actually the earliest store in Australia, and then opened in Sydney.
My favorite is this matcha tea jelly
Is the whole Sydney / Melbourne matcha dessert NO.1
Be sure to scoop down all the levels together
Rich and sweet taste without getting tired
Really not enough
