Good opening hours and good service. The shop itself is quite small but that doesn’t stop people from coming at all - it was quite busy when we got there and definitely seems like a popular place for the locals! It has a cute, rustic, authentic family vibe and decent prices. There is a relatively large range of flavours, and they also have special flavours that vary daily(?) The lady who was serving was very experienced, patient and careful- she knew about the different textures and softness’ of the different flavours and made sure that the scoops were in an order that would prevent them from falling off. She also made sure that each person got some of the toppings of each flavour!

Great texture and very smooth. I like that you can get two flavours but a one scoop serving. Heaps of classic italian flavours. I got the panna cotta which was subtle. It was custardy, light but didn’t scream panna cotta. The second flavour was roasted hazelnut, owners were very generous with the nuts and definitely blitzed up real nuts in the gelato base. Will definitely come back to try the other flavours

I've been coming here for many many years and Franco consistently produces the best gelato in Sydney. The quality of ingredients used is evident and the flavours are just so authentic and natural tasting. It's too hard to pick a favourite, they're honestly all so good. It's never sickeningly sweet like a lot of other gelato places. We're always greeted warmly by Franco when he takes a break from the back. Love this family business and I've recommended them to all my mates.

Great little gelateria with a nice relaxed atmosphere. Tried the banana, watermelon, panna cotta and donatella. All very good, creamy and distinct flavours. Favourite was the donatella, really liked the toasted hazelnuts in it. Would have preferred if they could serve in eat-in cups.

Always come here - recommend getting the 1L take home container where you can choose up to 3 flavours. They make the gelato here in house and texture is nice and thick 💪 Personal favourite flavours are pannacotta, vanilla, berry yoghurt, matcha green tea and black sesame 🤞

They are the best with the quality of gelato ice creams. Some of the flavours are so unique and delicious that you can’t find the same anywhere around the city like the black sesame. Generous portions with decent prices. Quick and efficient service!

Perhaps the most underrated gelato in Sydney. The Inner-West gelato scene is pretty crowded with Messina, Mapo, Cow & The Moon headlining most blogs and “best gelato in Sydney” lists — but this family run business definitely belongs in the same tier. All the flavours are amazing, and the seasonal rotating fruit specials are refreshing, but my favourites are their panacotta and donatella.

Absolute gem. The texture of the icecream was so good, creamy yet not rich or too sweet. Had the pista flavour which is nutty but not too strong and donatella flavour. The options are great and just enough for a person to be contemplating on their favourite flavours. Definitely a must try!

Good selection of Gelato, the interior is very comfortable for a sit-in experience. Inspired with classic Italian flavors, I went for a classic Tiramisu scoop. Really delicious, could taste the booze too, just a little ‘icy’ / grainy in texture which was a small let-down. But definitely a place to return to try more sweet treats.

This place is one of my favourite places to get some gelato. The servings they give here are absolutely massive and always delicious. I usually find getting the "1 scoop with 2 flavours" is the sweet spot, not too much, not too little. And only $6.50!!! Very quaint, so is an excellent date location. Staff are always friendly and good as following Covid protocols.

Best gelato in the inner west. It's icy yet creamy, and not too rich. A fantastic texture. The standout flavours are tiramisu, hazelnut, Panna Cotta and banana. Also, I love that they serve the eat-in gelato in cold metal cups. For the indescisive they even let you have two flavours in one scoop. The atmosphere is special, fairy lights, cute pictures and cosy tables. Lastly, the staff here are lovely, they let you try the flavours and always with a smile.

Lovely little ice cream shop with a really good variety of flavours. Service was friendly, you can ask to try the ice cream before deciding. Serving size was also very generous, definitely a plus point. Chocolate hazelnut, pannacotta and chocolate chip are to die for. Will definitely come back!

Sensational !!!! We shared a pannacotta and toblerone which was served in a little silver dish and we sat at the window and people watched. The service is friendly, the gelato is so smooth and creamy and the decor inside this little hidden gem is so cute. We didn’t have any coffees but that’s also smelt so good, At $7 for two large scoops we thought this was great value and will definitely be back :)

Nice joint for ice cream. The ice cream is made on site and with fresh ingredients. They charge about $5 for a single scoop and they give the option of having 2 flavors for 50c extra which is nice. Worth a visit if you are around the area

Very generous portion size. I had the pistachio - my usual measure for rating gelato joints and was surprised to learn that their version is full of actual pistachio nuts, unlike almost every other place in Sydney where the nuts are blended into the gelato. I found the pistachio flavour not as intense or rich as say Rivareno, but also lead me to ponder whether Gelato Franco is using a more natural approach and others are adding pistachio flavours. Either way I’m definitely coming back to try other flavours. Thanks 🙏🏼

Hands down my favourite gelato joint ever! The flavours are delicious, unique and made of quality ingredients. It is a tad more expensive then the average ice cream joint, but it's 100% worth it. You cannot go wrong. This place is such a gem! Their ice cream makes me so happy. If I had to nitpick, I really wish tastings were available to help me explore new flavours but I've never had a flavour that I regretted so I guess I can't complain :P

Beautiful little tables are set up with a bouquet of flowers from their garden. Food is 11/10, refreshments are great and every table is served with bottles of water. Well worth a visit. Loved this place ever since it opened, the gelato is always high quality and consistently really good. Staff are friendly and there's a coffee machine if you want something to drink too. There's always a feature flavour which gives you something new to try every now and again after you've gone through the regulars. By far the best pistachio ice cream in Sydney, I won't eat it anywhere else.

The guys are so friendly here, and very generous with servings. Have you ever seen a customer come out of a gelato shop without a huge grin on their face? Love the constant flavor changes. I have to say their sorbets really stand out. Try the orange - it's an explosion of fresh summer in the mouth, amazing; and the black sesame - real rich nutty goodness, best sesame gelato I've ever tried so far. I find the nut based flavours (hazelnut and pistachio) could be stronger and too milky for my liking, more like a milky gelato with fresh nuts mixed in but I know some people do like that type of gelato. I wish these guys all the best.

The only nuisance is if you’re getting it delivered (I use Deliveroo) it takes 2 to 3 times the time advertised. So plan ahead... it’ll take 1 - 1.5hrs to get to you a suburb away. Nothing cools a hot-tempered pregnant lady better than a two-flavoured pannacotta banana gelato. Having fought incessantly in Westfields, myer and IKEA over the course of 5 hours, we were on non-speaking terms, and had a silent dinner (no eye contact) vietnamese dinner, which was lukewarm. I suggested to enter the gelato diner, her responsive was heartless ' do what you want'. I returned with the glowing peace offer, which was unresistable 'have some my darling' i said, she could not refuse.
