This is the first time I bought the tiramisu cake for my son’s birthday from Messina ice cream at parramatta, it’s 12” cake and taste so good, not too sweet. I will try the different flavour next time.

This place is good for a quick ice cream. The place - though compact - is easily accessible. There are lots and lots of flavours that you can choose from. So, if you have kids with you, this is a good place. My favorite flavour is chocolate chip and it was fantastic 👍 Only 3 people at a time and you need to follow queues if you go there on weekends. Staff is cooperative and you do not have to wait much for your order. There's seating arrangement in front of the shop so you can enjoy cone ice cream 🍦 there.

Delicious ice cream to go. It's often very crowded. I walk by quite often and a lot of the time, even during odd hours, there are very long lines coming out of the store for people queueing for an ice cream. A must try if you're visiting parramatta.

Great gelato and worth the drive! My favourite flavours are pandan and coconut, and boysen berry. You have to order one sweet flavour and one sour flavour to balance out your taste palette. The cake was also beautiful and tastes good.

Best gelato ever - fresh, delicious, excellent flavours. My personal favourite is the chocolate fondant - rich, chocolatey, not overly sweet, just the right balance for that rich chocolate taste. Specials are also great and keep things interesting - recent highlights are the matcha gelato with yuzu cheesecake pieces, and peanut gelato with choc chip and biscuit pieces inside. They always provide generous servings and the flavour and texture are great!!!

The greatest ice cream which I've ever tried! So many options to choose and the most important thing for me is natural. While eating you meet real big peaces of berries or nuts, so taste itself is so rich. Ice cream is not 100 frozen, it is soft as it have to be!

Summer or winter i always love going to messina. While they have a great range of sorbets and ice creams, i always enjoy checking out their specials as they come up with some great experimental flavours, and they usually have great pun names. It is also pretty cool that you can see into the kitchen and see them making the icecream.

Changed the rating back to 5 stars! Still my favourite ice cream shop :) Received a sincere apology email from Messina today, explained what happened with the packaging. The usual tub stock were running low, the shop had to change a container supplier in very short turnaround. After receiving my previous complaint, the shop did quantity test themselves and got in touch with me right away. Very impressive! Everyone is struggling during the pandemic. Wish our favourite ice cream stay strong! Below was my post on 26 June. Absolutely love Messina ice cream. We have been ordering takeaway or bought in the shop for several years. Even during the pandemic, it is our source of happiness and enjoyment. However, ordered the same size 1.5 L takeaway from Deliveroo last week, noticed the box looked the same but not quite feel the same. There is a very thin plastic container inside the normal foam one. When we eventually finished the tub and took out the thin plastic container, we instantly noticed it was much smaller. I pulled water to the plastic container and measured its weight. Only 1.2L but it was marketed as 1.5L tub. We truly hope that’s the issue with this new container not the shop trying to save some money in an inappropriate way. We love Messina ice cream. Lots of business are struggling during the crazy time. Please stop this cheating behaviour. We rather you increase price. It would be very sad to lose this shop, this brand.

This is the best gelato I've ever had in my life. The dulce de leche is probably the closest thing to heaven you can get on earth. I'm not even joking. I'd probably crawl over broken glass to get this icecream...well, maybe not broken glass. But I'd walk across a hit beach without thongs on for it. Absolutely! The line is hella long though sometimes, though. That's a bit rubbish. People buggering about trying to choose their favourite flavour. Staff at the Parramatta store are amazing. They’re always so welcoming going into the store. They’ve tried the flavours and can give you good recommendations. Before covid they gave you all the samples in the world. Never stingy. They’re always so sweet and accommodating and also always so patient when you’ve got no idea what you want. I ordered a cake from the recently. I didn’t know that online you needed to give them a certain amount of time before your pick up date but I rang the store and they were more then happy to help and have it ready by when I needed it. I know that can’t always happen, can’t always get that lucky but they really are happy to help where they can. So thank you everyone at the store for always being so amazing when going in. Personally I think the ice cream is overrated, it pales after being in Italy last year and having the best ice cream in the world !

Good small gelato shop for takeaway. It’s a tiny space so no seating and not much room to browse the flavours when a lot of people around. Taste is the same as any other Gelato Messina branch. Staff are fast and efficient. You won’t have to wait too long, there’s often a small queue waiting outside.

Can't go past the reliability of Messina for amazing flavours. With weekly specials and regular classics there's something for everyone. The Parramatta store is tidy. There's friendly staff (usually 2 or 3 on at any one time). Best avoid peak times (Friday/Saturday nights) if you want to avoid the que. At other times there is usually no wait. There is a small area outside with a few seats for those wanting to sit and eat (when there's not active COVID restrictions). It's set in a central location on Church street so is in very close walking distance to numerous eateries. You can grab some desert after a dinner out or if you're like me just visit to stock up the ice cream supply. Street parking is limited on Church Street so it's best to park a few streets away and walk down. Definitely worth a visit.

The gelato is reasonably priced and has rotating specials. Some servers give really stingy tastes where it is hard to get the flavour but they do let you try whatever you want before you buy and are generally extremely patient with customers. I have never had a bad experience. I like that vegans are catered for as well. People love gelato for gifts:)

Great flavours. The only drawback is the long line on Friday and Saturday nights. Sometimes it's easier to go elsewhere for dessert, especially as there is very limited seating. Service isn't very fast, they should probably have more staff on during peak times. We habe been a dlzen times and always end up waiting- we recently went on a very quiet Friday afternoon and it still took ages to be served as the only staff member was out the back for a while. Advice from my child: multiple chocolate flavours can get confusing, so recommend a taste test before committing to one. Favourite is the nutella chocolate, which is sometimes called something else at other Messina branches.

The flavours don't give a funny after taste. My kids love coming here. It was super convenient when u could park across the street but u can use the Wilson parking that's an extra 5 minutes to walk. Located right in the heart of eat street it's the perfect place to grab ur gelato on a cone or cup. Thank God we don't have to travel to the casino to eat Messina anymore. What can I say? It's Messina, some awesome flavours. Love the thickshakes. The only negative is that they do not accept eftpos, which I cannot do that day and age is unforgivable especially since the average sale is going to be above $10.

When you see people lining up in front of an ice cream shop in winter you should know that this place is really good I only tried once as I love near Penrith and it takes an hour sometimes to get to Parramatta from my place but I have to admit that this Gelato shop is One of the reasons I would like to go Parramatta again I tried 3 different flavors and tastes at least 3 more .... You have the right to eat gelato in a cone and walk in the sun beside the River or other pleasant spot. You also have the right to pick a flavour of your choosing - although right now (rn :-) I'm finding it hard to pass up the "Poached Figs in Marsala". There's plenty to choose from. Dulce De Leche Pannacotta with Fig Jam and Amaretti Biscuit Pear & Rhubarb +++ Speaking of Rhubarb- You do not have the right to pass up a visit to Messinas. And why would you? That should really be 'nuf said! ... but if you don't know Messina, and you are in Western Sydney, make the trip to this corner of the main eating precinct in Parramatta and grab a cup or a cone. Some of my favourite regular flavours are Chocolate Fondant, Apple Pie, and Dolche de Leche. Their daily specials are also usually smash hits.
